Well, heh, hey, this has gotten more favorable reviews than some of my other stories! That really makes an author feel good, ya know? Makes me feel all tingly with pride. I feel the need to emphasize, though, that everything I've written here is simply satire, and not to be taken too seriously. There are a lot of truly well-written, enthralling stories out there, ones full of stereotypes and cliches and high-school flings. And that doesn't mean they're bad! My intent with this little bit of satire was to draw a chuckle or two and maybe make a few of you (gentle readers) think about the how and why and when and where of all your own stories (and I know you have them, even if they're still waiting to be written!).
Please don't let your creativity be stifled by any of what I've written here, I really don't want that! I'm just poking a little fun at what we read and write (heh, and I'm just as guilty as some of you). I found myself wincing as certain parts struck home as well, even as I wrote this! Chances are though that, no matter what you write about, no matter how many times it's been done before, it'll still be fantastically *amazing*, and that's absolutely true. It will be, because no matter how many times some common theme's been played out, it has yet to be played by you, and that's enough to make the whole story new all over again.
So, seriously, go out and write! It's just, as you do, keep an open mind and be able to laugh at yourself once in a while, because nothing on the internet should be taken too seriously.
