Chapter 1
Xavier glanced around the busy club, looking for the person who'd be lucky enough to go home with him that night.
“Spotted anyone gorgeous, darling?” Xavier's best friend, Kyo, asked, shuffling into the booth and resting his head in Xavier's lap.
“Nah, not yet.” Xavier sighed, his head threading through Kyo's dark hair.
“I'm always available, Zee.” Kyo flirted, sitting up and wrapping an arm around his friend.
“I know, babe.” Xavier nodded, passionately kissing Kyo. Their relationship was pretty simple. When they were horny, and hadn't found anyone else to shag, they fucked. No relationship, no jealousy. Just plain and simple sex.
Kyo pulled away, his tongue poking out to playfully swipe at Xavier's two lip piercings. He straddled Xavier's lap, rocking his hips and delighting in the moans his friend made.
“You don't need some twink, babe. You've got me, and I know just what you like.” Kyo whispered, his mouth close to Xavier's ear.
“True, but some of those twinks are gorgeous.”
“And I'm not?” Kyo pouted and Xavier laughed.
“Sure, you are babe. But you're like my favourite underwear, I can't wear you all of the time, no matter how much I love you.”
“Thanks, I'm underwear.”
“My favourite underwear.” Xavier pointed out and Kyo laughed.
“I suppose I'll forgive you, babe.”
“How could you not?” Xavier said, pressing a kiss to Kyo's lips. “But darling, a really, really gorgeous guy walked in, so if you'll excuse me...”
“Yeah, yeah, I know. Good luck.” Kyo said, getting off Xavier's lap.
“Don't need it, darling.” Xavier winked, sliding out of the booth.
Xavier sauntered across the club, his eyes fixed on the guy he wanted. The guy he was going to get. He had long, platinum hair that cascaded beautifully down his back. His skin was almost as pale as his hair and when he turned, Xavier saw he had the most stunning green eyes. He was also really, really short. Compared to Xavier's 6'3”, he was tiny. Xavier watched as the guy danced with random guys, moving on from them quickly. With a grin, he strode across the dance floor, wrapping around the guys waist and slowly pulling him away from the person he was dancing with.
“Hi, gorgeous.” Xavier smirked.
“Indy.” The guy stated, looking up at Xavier with those stunning eyes of his.
“Okay, hey, Indy.” Xavier smiled, pressing himself against Indy, who wrapped his arms around Xavier's neck.
“Would it be too much to ask your name?” Indy asked, as the two swayed on the dance floor. “You did just steal me away from somebody I was quite enjoying dancing with, after all.”
“It's Xavier. Xavier Starr.”
“Like Ringo Starr?”
“Yeah.”
“Cool.” Indy nodded. “I'm just plain ol' Indy Cabiles.” Xavier smiled, his hands slowly moving down towards Indy's arse. “Well, you get to the point, don't you?”
“Of course.” Xavier nodded. He leaned forward, getting impossibly closer to Indy and whispered something his ear. Indy blushed, and Xavier found himself admiring just how adorable Indy looked, with his face tinged red. Xavier whispered something again, and Indy grabbed his hand, dragging him into a dark corner, standing on tiptoes so he could kiss Xavier. In his head, Xavier laughed. This was far too easy. Indy whined, deep in his throat, the height difference annoying him until Xavier lifted him, wrapping his arms under Indy's legs.
“You're so hot.” Indy mumbled, arching his back as Xavier pressed kisses up his neck.
“Oh, I know.” Xavier smirked. “Want to go back to my place?”
“Yes.” Indy said as Xavier let him down.
“C'mon, then. I just have to tell my friend I'm going.” Xavier said, striding away, Indy trailing behind him.
Kyo was busy dancing with someone when Xavier tapped him on the shoulder. He spun around, a happy smile on his face.
“Hey, gorgeous. You get him?”
“Hell yeah. Just going back to my place.” Xavier laughed.
“Lucky bugger. Have fun!” Kyo said, kissing Xavier once on both cheeks. “Toodles!” He added, before turning back to the guy he was dancing with.
Xavier opened the door to his apartment, laughing as Indy walked in, his eyes wide. It wasn't special or anything, but Xavier had to admit, it did look pretty awesome. According to Kyo, it wasn't very 'Xavier-esque', he thought it should be more expensive looking, instead of just plain brick walls and wood floors, but Xavier loved it.
“Its...wow.” Indy murmured.
“If you think this is wow, you should see the bedroom.” Xavier smiled, placing his hand on the small of Indy's back and guiding him towards it. They made their way into the bathroom, and Xavier grinned when Indy gasped. Xavier loved his bedroom, its where all the good stuff happened.
“Now,” He murmured, his hands sliding under Indy's tight shirt. “Lets get you out of these clothes.”
Xavier leaned on his elbow, watching Indy sleep. He'd tired the poor kid out. Xavier lay there for a while, just watching. Indy was stunningly gorgeous, especially now with his hair standing out amazingly as it fanned over the black pillow, a light blush gracing his cheeks and the way his lips were slightly pouted. Xavier toyed lightly with a lock of hair, admiring how silky and perfect it was. It was perfectly straight, until the very ends, where it curled. It was cute.
He wondered just how much he contrasted with Indy. They were opposites. Xavier had dark hair, dark eyes, which were probably still rimmed with smudged black make-up, tan skin. Everything was different to Indy's light hair, light eyes and almost pure white skin.
'Like an angel.' Xavier thought, before snorting. That was too waxy and poetic for him. With a grin, he turned over, already falling asleep.
When Xavier woke up, Indy was already gone. In his place, on the pillow, there was a note. Xavier picked it up, struggling to read the twirling writing.
Hey, Xavier.
I had fun. I know you're one night stands only, but hey, you seemed to enjoy it as much as I did. Give me a call or something any time you want.
Indy
xxxx
Xavier tried to figure out how the hell he was supposed to call someone without their number, but when he screwed the paper up, he noticed writing on the back. A phone number. With a roll of his eyes, Xavier put the paper on the table next to his bed as he stumbled out of it. Indy had been right about the one night stands thing, but hey, it wouldn't hurt to call him if Xavier was horny and Kyo wasn't around.
Xavier was making his usual breakfast smoothie, clad only in tight, black jeans when Kyo burst through the door.
“Darling!” He yelled, fluttering his fingers in Xavier's direction as he took off his coat, placing it carefully on the sofa.
“Hey, Kyo.” Xavier smiled. “Want a smoothie?”
“No, no, darling, I'm fine.” Kyo said, leaning over the counter to press kisses to Xavier's cheeks. “Now, dish, babe! How was that gorgeous guy you picked up?” Xavier chuckled. He knew Kyo was going to ask that. He flipped his bangs out of his eyes and poured out his smoothie before he replied.
“Amazing. Seriously.”
“God, I knew he would be. How come you get all the hot ones that are good in bed?” Kyo whined.
“I dunno, that guy you were dancing with last night was pretty cute.”
“Sucked in bed. And he was really small too.”
“Poor honey.” Xavier said sympathetically, crossing the room and sitting on his sofa. A few moments later, Kyo joined him. He curled up on the edge, but a few moments later, he stretched his legs out, placing them on Xavier.
“Darling, are we going out tonight? If we are, you are choosing a guy for me. I have such terrible taste!” Kyo sighed, pouting at Xavier.
“You like me, don't you, babe?”
“Yeah, but you came up to me and got me into your bed.” Kyo stated. That was true. The morning after that they'd gone at it again, three times. Then they found out Xavier was due to start working in the same store as Kyo and everything had evolved from there.
“You have a point.”
“Oh! I forgot to tell you! You remember my brother, yes? Akio?” Oh, Xavier definitely remembered Akio. Despite the fact he was younger than Kyo (Akio was nineteen, Kyo was twenty two, like Xavier) they were almost identical, except their personalities were complete opposites. For a week, Xavier and Kyo had gone to visit Kyo's parents house, which was when Xavier met Akio.
Akio was gorgeous, like his brother, so of course, Xavier had fucked him, whilst Akio's parents were sleeping in the room below them and Kyo was in the room next door, despite Akio protesting that he was straight.
“Yeah, I remember him.”
“Well, he's coming to stay with me. He gave up on university and he's decided he wants to write, and he think it'll be easier if he comes and lives in the city so yeah.” Kyo said, nodding.
'Ohhh, I'm going to have so much fun!' Xavier thought gleefully. “When is he coming?” He asked.
“Day after tomorrow.”
“Well, we'll have to take him out, show him the clubs.” Xavier nodded.
“We will, darling! But for now, I have to go.” Kyo said, standing up. Xavier followed, turning his cheek towards Kyo so he could kiss it. “Ciao, darling!”
“Seeya, babe.” Xavier said, following Kyo to the door and opening it for him. He never let it be said that he had no manners.
A few hours later, Xavier was sitting on the roof of his apartment building, grateful that his
apartment was on the top floor. It was starting to rain, but he didn't notice. This was his escape. When he wanted to stop the façade, when he wanted to be who he used to be, he came up onto the roof, just to be alone and be himself.
His usually bright grey eyes were dull as he stared blankly over the city he now called his home. In the streets below, people were rushing, to get to work, to get home, to get to wherever. He'd never understood rushing. If you rushed, you didn't see all the small things. If people didn't hurry to get wherever, the person he loved would still be alive. Xavier sighed, his hand moving to his neck, lovingly caressing the locket that hung around it. Inside, there was a picture of Stefan, his ex boyfriend. He didn't hold many objects dear to him, the locket was one of them. Without it, Stefan was just a name.
Xavier groped in the pocket of his too-big hoodie, finding his cigarettes and lighter and smiling tightly. If he didn't smoke, he was pretty sure he'd have gone insane, very, very, very quickly. Xavier stood, stretching, before he took out a cigarette and lit it quickly. He jammed the box and lighter back in his pocket. He crossed the room, sitting on the edge so his feet dangled over the fire escape, that led directly to his bedroom window. He realized maybe he should have waited to light his cigarette, but he never had been one for making things easy for himself. If he did make things easy for himself, he'd hang out on the fire escape, instead of having to clamber onto the roof all the time. He dropped down, landing gracefully on the metal platform. In a few strides, he was in front of his window. He ducked down, squeezing through the small space. When he was in his bedroom, he stripped off his hoodie, placing it lovingly on the chair in the corner of his room. That and the locket were the only things he had left from his old life. The hoody had been Stefan's, and when Xavier and moved away, he'd found it under his bed. He'd been so happy, because Stefan's family had gotten rid of the rest of the stuff he owned. He turned around, slamming the window closed when his warmth wore off and the cold air started nipping at his bare chest. He sighed, time for the façade again.
“Xavier!” A loud voice called as Xavier walked into the dingy club. “You haven't in for ages, boy! I'd started to think you'd gone home with a murderer!” Xavier snorted, crossing towards the bar, and perching on the edge of one of the stools. The curvaceous, blond woman behind the bar smiled at him, though her hands were placed on her hips.
“Hey, Portia. Its great to see you.” Xavier said, fluttering his eyelashes.
“Yeah, yeah, you git.” Portia grumbled, her British accent becoming more obvious with every word. “If its so great, why don't you come in more? I know why you're in here now, Kyo is busy and the clubs aren't open yet, are they? Of course, you never come see me when you've got something better to do!”
“You know why I don't come in here much, Portia.” Xavier muttered.
“Yeah, yeah. I know. You and my darlingly perfect girlfriend don't get on. I still don't understand why! Xanthippe is perfectly nice, you're nice when you're not being an asshole to your 'conquests', and you're both really similar!” Portia complained, wiping down one of the glasses that lined the bar.
“Sorry, darling. Speaking of my conquests, however. I met this completely stunning guy last night. I got his number and shagged him in the same night!”
“Score!” Portia grinned, leaning over the bar. She was bi, and loved hearing about Xavier's one night stands, mostly because she thought he had great taste in men. That, and she was completely obsessed with gay guys. “Tell me about him!” Xavier laughed, and leaned forward as well, a smug grin on his face as he started to tell her about Indy.
Xavier was in his usual booth, Kyo in his lap when he caught a glimpse of that gorgeous platinum hair. Then he caught a glimpse of Indy, and his breath caught. Indy was wearing a tiny skirt, accompanied by incredibly high heels and no shirt. His hair was pulled up into a high ponytail, but it still teased around his ass as he danced with the guys, all begging for a bit of his attention. Indy seemed to know he was being watched, because he looked up, staring intently at Xavier with those brilliant eyes. When he noticed who it was, he grinned and waved, heading towards Xavier and Kyo, a guy trailing behind him.
“Hello, Xavier!” Indy said, as he reached the booth. “And Xavier's...friend. You were talking to him last night, weren't you? I don't think I caught your name.”
“Kyo, darling, nice to meet you! You must be Indy! I heard wonderful things about you!” Kyo grinned, squeaking when Xavier pinched his thigh, hard.
“Hey, Indy.” Xavier said, his voice gruff. “How are you?”
“Oh you know, same old, same old.” Indy nodded, tilting his head as the guy with him whispered something into his ear. He giggled when the man finished, an adorable blush rising on his cheeks as he started waving distractedly at Kyo and Xavier. “Well, I must be off...” He breathed, grabbing the man's hand, the same way he'd grabbed Xavier's the night before and dragged the man away. Xavier watched him walk away, surprisingly balanced on those enormous heels. When he saw the mans hands grip Indy's arse, an unwelcome feeling, one he hadn't felt in years. He recognized it instantly, and hated it. He looked away from Indy, trying to concentrate on Kyo's hands, worming under his clothes, and on Kyo's lips, dancing along his neck. He was one night stands only, and Kyo would be the only exception, ever.
“Spotted anyone gorgeous, darling?” Xavier's best friend, Kyo, asked, shuffling into the booth and resting his head in Xavier's lap.
