More the response, more I write…..

Chapter 2

“Let’s go get some fooooood.” Jake says laughing.

Cody joins in the laughter, turning and heads toward Jake’s monster truck.

Jakes wraps his arm around Cody waist, drawing him near.

How could I deny it, even with my own two eyes, they were the perfect couple. Why do I make myself watch this? Do I get some kind of kick, getting my heart rip our over and over and over again? I should just leave. Jake would miss me at first, but eventually he would get over it, move on, he has Cody.

“Come on Craig, you have to stay focus, your always zoning out. You act like you’re in love. Is my bro in love?” Jake asked teasingly.

Craig takes a quick glance at Cody. (Blushing) “Me in love Jake, are you crazy. No one would want me. I’m a nobody.” Craig said laughing. As he nervously adjust his glasses.

Cody and Jake just stares, neither was laughing. “That’s not funny Craig.” Cody says frowning.

“Yeah that not funny bro. You’ve just haven’t found the right girl. She’ll come along, you have to give it time.” Jake says frowning.

“Yeah Craig, she’ll come along when you least expect it.” Cody says staring dead in Craig eyes.

*Sighs,* neither knows I’m not even into girls. Somehow I shouldn’t be surprised, but I couldn’t be mad at them. I’ve never been with anybody, so how could they know. But It still hurts.

“Cooommmeee on everyone, I’m hungry. Jakes said whining.

“Your always hungry Jake, I swear I don’t know how you keep the fat off. You always have something in your mouth. Cody laughs nudging Jake in the ribs.

“Well baby I’m a growing boy, plus you work it off me. You know I have to keep up my energy, to keep you pleased.”

Both started laughing

Craig shook his head, wondering how it would be, to share small everyday stuff, with someone that cared about you. That wanted to know how your day went, and how they could make it better. To have someone and to know you weren’t alone in this world.

Clearing his thought, maybe one day.

Finally making it to Jake truck, Jake wraps his arms around Cody bring him up against his chest. Lowering his head, he gives Cody a kiss on the neck.

Cody squeals “Stop that Jake, I though you were hungry?”

“I am baby; I just want a appetizer before the main course.”

Finally relinquishing Cody, Jake wraps his hands around Cody waist, and hoists him up into the truck.

Turning to Craig, “Come on bro, your next.”

They were off.

“So where does everyone want to go and eat?” Jake glances at the men in his life.

He was go glad that Cody and Craig got along. He was so scared when he first introduced Cody to Craig. He loved them both, but in different ways. With Cody, he was everything that he wanted in a relationship. Cody was funny, outgoing, love the outdoors, and was honest. Craig was his friend from as far back as he could remember.
Craig was a true friend. Never wanted anything from him. Never asked anything from him. (Which we would gladly give) He was so happy his lover and his best friend was friends.

“Doesn’t matter to me love, anywhere you want to go.” Cody said leaning over giving Jake a kiss on the cheek.

“What about you bro. Anywhere inperticular you want to go?”

“No Jake anyplace is fine with me.”

Driving in silence for a while, Cody leans up and starts messing with the radio station. I can smell the cologne he is wearing. Sitting beside him so close, it’s slowly driving me mad. How could anyone be so perfect? I have to stop this. I can’t keep thinking this away. Jerked out of my thoughts, I hear Cody saying something to me.

“Earth to Craig, are you there? Are you alright? Cody asked with a little worry in his eye.

“Yeah, sorry Cody, just been a hard day today. Have a lot of things on my mind.”

“It’s ok. I was asking you, what kind of music do you like?”

“Anything really, I like a little of everything.” Craig says blushing.

“Me too, I try not to limit myself in anything. You might not realize that you like something, if you never give it a try.” Cody said smiling.

Craig stares at Cody, something wasn’t right here, or is it just me reading into something that not there. That had to be it. I’m just trying to read more into that sentence.

“See Craig, I gave Jake a chance, I was never into guy, until I met him. He made me like him. I would have missed out on a wonderful person, had I not went out on a date with him. So see anything is possible.”

My heart fell, I kept the fake smile plastered to my face, but my eyes dimmed. “Yeah Cody you’re a lucky guy, Jake is a wonderful person.”

“Yeah, I know, he’s been everything I ever wanted. I am very lucky.”

“Yes you are baby, damn lucky to have me. Do you know how many hearts I broke when I started seeing you, and only you?” Jake said wiggling his eyebrows.

Cody laughed. “All I remember was one. But can you count your hand as a person?”

“That was low baby, real low.” Jake said trying to be serious.

Craig even had to break out into laughter over that burn. “You two are crazy, you know that.”

Cody turns and looks at Craig. “Well being with him, would make anyone crazy”

“O really baby, last night you were calling me the man, if I remember correctly” Jake said winking at Craig.

“Ok honey, you win, lets behave, in front of Craig. I don’t think he wants to hear what happen between us last night, you’ll freak him out.”

Finally spotting a Mc D’s Jake pulls into the parking lot. The place was packed. “So do we go in, or go to the drive threw, and go to the park?” Jake asked driving slowly around the building.

Craig flushed, he hated crowds. Seem like everyone would stare at him. “I say we…”

“We go to the park” Cody says at the say time.

“What about you Craig, what do you want to do?” Cody looks over at Craig, “I hate crowded places.”

Craig stares into Cody eyes, could he read his mind. He felt a chill run down his spin. “The park is fine with me.”

“Ok the park it is.” Jakes pulls up to the drive threw window.

“What does everyone want?”

“I’ll take#3 with a coke, and large fries.” Cody says.

“What about you Craig?” Jake asked while looking at the menu.

Go ahead an order, I’m still looking. Craig pulls out his wallet, going to see how much money he had left, finding it empty. Damn I forgot Alex, and his cronies took my money this morning. “Ah I’ve changed my mind. I’m not really hungry. I had a big lunch.”

Watching out of the corner of his eyes, Cody saw that Craig didn’t have any money.

“Oh and by the way I’m buying tonight, my treat.” Cody said smiling.

“Alright baby, I knew I went out with you for a reason.” Jake said leaning over kiss Cody lips.

“I see, you just want a sugar daddy?” Cody said pouting.

“No honey, all I want is you, and my #5, super sized.” Jake said laughing.

Cody joins in the laughter.

Craig lowers his head, ashamed that he couldn’t afford his own supper tonight. He still wanted to turn down the meal. But truth be told, he can’t remember the last time he ate. With no food at home, and Alex and his friends stealing what little money he did receive, he never gets a chance to eat.

Cody takes out his wallet, pulls out a $20. And hands it to Jake. Pulling up to the drive-thru, Cody turns and sees Craig’s head lowered.

“Yeah,” Cody whispers, touching Craig arm. “Is there something wrong?”

“No, thank you for buying my supper.” Craig whispers.

“No biggy, you’re my friend. And besides you would do it for me.” Cody smiles at Craig.

Craig tries to smile, thinking I would do anything for you. I would hand you the moon if I could, just to see it reflex in your smiling eyes. God I hope Jake knows what he haves in you.

“Yeah baby, how are you?” Jakes asks the girl at the window.

“Hi Jake,” Stacy said with a wink.

“Tina, its Jake, come over here.” Stacy yells at her friend working in front register.

“Tina runs over to the drive-thru window, smiling. “Hi Jake. How’s it going?”

“Doing just fine ladies, do you think I can have some extra fries and ketchup with that order.” Jake said laying on the charm.

Both girls were giggling. “Sure, anything for you Jake.”

Jake hands Stacy $20. But she refuses. “It’s on us Jake; we can’t have our sexiest football player paying for food.”

“Well thank you ladies, I really appreciate it” Jakes says as he winks at them.

“Here you go baby, I don’t need your money after all.” Jakes said proudly as he hands the money back to Cody.

“I can see that. With Stacy and Tina around, I know you won’t starve” Cody says while shoved the money back into his wallet.

Craig couldn’t believe his ears. How could Jake flirt like that, especially right in front of Cody? What was wrong with Jake? Couldn’t he see he was hurting Cody. I would do anything to be in Jake place. God life wasn’t fair.

Jake seemed not to notice the hurt he caused Cody. Setting there talking first to Stacy and then to Tina.

“Hey,” I said touching Cody arm.

Cody turned and smiled at me. “Yes?”

“I just wanted to thank you for buying my dinner, even though; we end up getting it for free.”

“You’re welcome,” Cody said softly

Someone behind us honks startling us both.

Getting aggravated, Cody grabs Jake arm, “Come on honey, were hungry, and I thought you were hungry too?”

“Ok baby, were out of here, see you girls later, bye Tina, Stacy. Jake yells out.

Pulling out of Mc D’s parking lot, they headed to the park.

Craig and Cody were silent, looking out the window.

Jake could feel the tension coming off of Cody. Had he done something wrong? He got everyone free food. Maybe it’s just my imagination.

“Baby?’ Is there something wrong?

“No Jake nothing wrong, why would there be,” Cody said smiling at Jake.

Jake smiled back. That what he liked about Cody, he never toke anything to heart. He let things bounce off him, and move on.

Craig couldn’t believe Cody wasn’t mad. Jake just flirted outrageously with those two girls, and Cody didn’t say anything to him. I must be in hell. That is all there is too it. I am in hell. Jake gets to treat Cody with indifference to his feelings, everything is ok. But no, I worship him, with everything that is in me, and I don’t even get a second thought. That’s it, I died and went to hell, and this is my punishment.

Pulling into the park, we spot an empty table. Jake parks the truck, and jumps out. Going to the passenger side, he helps me down, handing me the food. Then he goes and reaches for Cody. At first I thought Cody might actually get down without Jake help. But Jake grabs him, slowly sliding him against his chest. Cody goes to push Jake away. But Jakes grabs him around the waist draw him near. Kissing him, coaxing his lips apart so he could slide his tongue into Cody hot mouth.

At first Cody resist, then slowly opens his mouth, allowing Jake’s tongue to enter. They stood there kiss for a few seconds. Aware of nothing around them.

Damn, how I feel like the third wheel. I stand there holding three bags of food, watching the love of my life making out with my best friend. I couldn’t take it.

“Come on guys, the food is getting cold!” I say a little too loud.

Cody jumps back a little, blushing. “Your right Craig lets go and eat.”

Jake groans, “Yeah, let’s eat.”

Setting down at the table, rummage threw the food. I finally remember Jake has something for me. “Jake, Cody said you had something for me?”

“Oh yeah, I do bro. What are you doing Friday night?” Jake asked mouth full of fries.

“Nothing.” I said kind of fearfully. God I hope he’s not going to ask me to go to one of his stupid friend’s party. They don’t want me there, and really, I don’t want to be there. All they do is getting wasted.

“Well bro, I’m having a party Friday night at the house and I want you to come. And I won’t take no for an answer!” Jake said seriously.

Oh great, how can I say no.

“I mean it Craig, I won’t take no for an answer.”

“Well sense you put it that away, I guess I will go.”
