***************************************************************

A low, sleepy growl rumbled from Kyran as he stretched his stiff body. Even though he was awake he kept his eyes closed. It made relishing the blissfully soft mattress that much better, the expensive blankets that felt like spun water against his naked form didn’t hurt either. Money may not be able to buy happiness, but it sure came damn close.

Finally, Kyran mustered up enough will to flutter his eyes open. It felt like he could sleep for days, but he couldn’t allow that. Tonight was the night. The night he had been planning for months. The night he’d slip into the Count’s castle and take every piece of gold the greedy bastard had to his name.

A large, lazy grin spread across Kyran’s face at that thought. He had been looking forward to it for so long. The last piece to the plan that he needed was the map of the catacombs and he had received that from Rasputin a few days ago. After finalizing and perfecting his plans, everything was ready. Everything was perfect.

From the light flooding into the room through the windows Kyran guessed it was around early morning. That gave him enough time to triple and quadruple check everything. One could never be too prepared. Reluctantly the man pushed the covers off him and immediately regretted it as the cool morning air caressed and teased his bare flesh, sending shivers through his body. Kyran shook off the chill and began to roll off the bed to get up. He was foiled, however, when an arm hooked around his stomach and pulled him back into the bed.

Kyran let out an undignified yelp of surprise as the arm secured him against a strong, warm chest. It did wonders to banish the slight chill from his body.

“Terrance, don’t do that!” Kyran snapped, not sounding as irritable as he wanted. His body also betrayed him by snuggling back into the delightfully warm bed partner behind him. Kyran grunted as the grip on him loosened and he was turned over onto his back. A pair of sparkling aqua eyes greeted him and a curtain of long, silky blonde hair fell around him, teasing his skin with light touches.

“Well, what am I supposed to do when my little thief is trying to sneak off without so much as a good morning?” Terrance asked him. Not waiting for an answer, he bent down to taste the corners of Kyran’s mouth before pressing his lips firmly against the soft, tempting lips of the thief.

A moan rose from Kyran as he surrendered to the hungry mouth. Terrance was a fiendish, sexy devil. He could get lost in just kissing the suave blonde for hours on end. Though Kyran didn’t see why not, it wasn’t like he had anything important to do…

Kyran’s eyes widened and a muffled grunt came from him as he pushed against Terrance, effectively breaking the lock their mouths had on each other.

“What?” Terrance asked, looking like a child that had just been denied his favorite toy. He had been enjoying letting his tongue explore Kyran’s mouth.

“I have to go,” Kyran told him, attempting to get up again, but was thwarted once more by Terrance’s delicious body holding him down.

“What? Now?” the man asked in bewilderment.

“Yes, now, Terry. So if you’d kindly remove yourself from my person I’ll successfully go,” Kyran said and pouted when Terrance just chuckled.

“I don’t think so,” Terrance said and chuckled again when Kyran scowled up at him. “You’re in my house, so I’m going to do what I want and you getting up and leaving is one of the furthest things that I want.” Terrance shifted so he was fully lying on top of the other man and both moaned from the feel of heated flesh against heated flesh.

“Teerrrryyy, you’re not being faiiiiir,” Kyran whined, letting his head tilt back as the man’s lips found his neck.

“What I don’t find fair is being woken up at an unheard of hour by a little thief sneaking into my house because he was frightened by some big bad soldiers,” Terrance murmured teasingly against intoxicating golden flesh. His hand found its way to Kyran’s and their fingers laced together and they held onto each other tightly.

“I was not frightened I was being cautious. There’s a difference,” Kyran said gruffly, offended by the very notion. “Soldiers hanging around that part of Gloramical is never a good thing and I’d rather be safe than sorry.”

Kyran forgot how to be offended as Terrance began suckling on the spot underneath his ear. This man was going to be his undoing. He was sure of that.

“Yes, you’ve seem to be much more cautious and paranoid these days,” Terrance said before gently biting the skin he’d been toying with. He loved how it made the smaller man squirm underneath him. “That usually means you’re up to something,” the man then said and lifted himself up enough to look down at the thief.

“I’m sure I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Kyran replied coyly. Teasing fingers traced Terrance’s jaw and touched soft pink lips. “It’s just in my job description to be cautious and paranoid.” He then frowned when he remembered, once more, that he was short on time. “But, as much as I’d love to sit here and discuss the workings of thieves I really, really have to go.”

A sharp intake of breath followed the statement as Kyran’s fingers were drawn into Terrance’s warm, wet mouth. It set his nerves aflame as that skilled mouth and tongue worked his digits. Why did he have to get caught in the web of the most devious, seductive spider in all of Gloramical?

“I don’t think you have to go just yet,” Terrance said with a sly grin once the fingers were freed from his mouth.

“Actually, I really do,” Kyran argued and a tormented moan rose from him as teeth began to playfully nip at his fingertips then move to the palm of his hand.

“No, you don’t,” the suave blonde said as his nips found their way to Kyran’s jaw line and to his ear.

“Yes…yes, I do,” Kyran muttered, his resistance faltering as a hot tongue traced every nook and cranny of his ear. He couldn’t help but writhe under the blonde devil and his arms somehow found their way around Terrance’s back, pulling the man’s body more firmly against his.

“No,” Terrance said, moving his lips to hover above Kyran’s, so close their breaths mingled into one, “you don’t.” The larger man claimed the thief’s lips in a fiery kiss and he let out a satisfied growl when Kyran gave in and responded immediately.

Kyran wanted to fight, he really did, but when that mischievous tongue entered his mouth and coaxed his own tongue out to play he had already lost the battle. Maybe he didn’t have to go right that second.

Terrance Relmar was a dashing and charming man, which served him well in his social standing as a Noble, the very elite in the society hierarchy. Though most Noble’s were known for being snobs and focused only on themselves and how to get more money, Kyran was surprised to find Terrance was nothing like that. He was about the only Noble who still tried to help the town of Gloramical instead of thinking of ways to milk every coin from it.

The two had met one night when Kyran was low on money and had decided to go on a small heist. He had chosen a house and, when he thought the owner was away, broke in a nicked a few items that would not be sorely missed. Unfortunately for him, his thieving skills were not as refined as they were presently and he had been caught by the owner of the house. Terrance. What could have been a horrible incident that would most certainly have ended Kyran’s thieving career, as well as his life, instead turned into a brilliant opportunity. The meeting that happened by chance sparked an odd friendship between the two men and, whenever Kyran found himself in a bit of a pickle, he knew he could rely on Terrance to hide him away until things cooled off. Or just be there for him when the thief felt lonely and vice-versa.

Kyran often wondered why a highly important man like Terrance would continue associating with a thief like him for all the years they’d known each other, no matter how secret their meetings were. Kyran often came to the conclusion that it was because of the sex. Every time he snuck away to the Noble’s house to visit the man it normally ended with them ripping each other’s clothes off and tumbling in the sheets, or rug, whichever was handy at the time. It usually left Kyran pondering if their relationship went any further than cardinal pleasure, but if he got a good place to hide, a hot shower, food, a soft, warm bed along with the great sex, who was he to complain?

Terrance moaned as Kyran broke their lip lock and began suckling and nipping at the flesh of his pale throat and his skin positively prickled as the thief ran his hands lightly up his sides and across his back. His hands were like magic.

Kyran chuckled and laid back to grin up at the man.

“I find it hilarious how you’re such a proud and mighty man, but you’re as sensitive as a quivering, virgin maiden,” he teased.

Instead of replying Terrance growled before crushing their lips together. He’d show the thief just how much of a virgin maiden he was.

Kyran moaned as Terrance forcefully penetrated his lips with his demanding tongue. It was so easy to get the man riled up and it always had pleasant consequences.

The thief then groaned, not because of the wonderful little twist Terrance’s tongue did against his, but because his reasoning brain reminded him that time was slipping away to get his plans into order.

Kyran pushed against Terrance enough so that their lips parted, but were close enough that they were brushing together.

“Terrance, my dear, dear, Terrance,” Kyran whispered, nipping lightly at the man’s lower lip.

“Yes, my mischievous little wildcat?” Terrance asked and kissed the thief again, only soft and lightly this time.

Once the man pulled back again Kyran grinned devilishly up at him.

“I really have to go.”

Then, without much further ado, Kyran gave a mighty push and sent Terrance tumbling off him. He then scrambled off the bed before the man could capture him again.

When Terrance’s hand just barely missed Kyran’s ankle the man raised himself up on his hands and glared at the thief.

“Damn it, Kyran, get back in this bed. I’m not done ravishing you,” the man ordered.

Kyran simply laughed and stuck his tongue out at the man.

“Sorry, Terry, but I am a busy guy, ya know,” he said as he made his way around the room in search of his clothes. It was easy enough to find his under clothes on the floor, but the rest of his outer clothes were another matter. It never failed. Every time they frantically tore each other’s clothes off it always turned into a hunt the next day to find them.

As Kyran slipped his located underwear on he could feel the dried come that clung to his inner thighs. He was going to have to bathe before putting any of his plans into action. Kyran’s attention was taken from his messy thighs when he heard Terrance sigh behind him.

“Must you be so busy this early in the morning?” Terrance grumbled as he plopped down to lie on his side, seeing that the thief was really going to leave.

Kyran laughed and shook his head as he discovered his pants on Terrance’s fine oak dresser.

“If I want everything to go as smooth as possible I do,” he answered as he stepped into his pants and pulled them up to his slim hips. He could practically feel Terrance’s heated eyes on him as he did so.

“Oh this is that big heist you were going on and on about before, isn’t it?” Terrance asked, though, no matter how much Kyran had rambled on about it the man knew little of what it involved or who. “Hmm if you’re planning on robbing someone I should do my civility duties and report you to the authorities,” he jested.

“Oooh I’m so scared,” Kyran said sarcastically with a cheeky grin. “You know you enjoy seeing the crushed faces of those devastated snobs just as much as I do.” He then set off to find his shirt. It had to be somewhere.

“Point taken,” Terrance agreed. “Well then, perhaps once you’re done with your fun you can come back here and we’ll have a congratulatory cuddle followed closely by hot and sweaty coupling,” he suggested in a lustful purr.

Kyran froze in his search for his missing shirt. He chewed on his bottom lip as a knot of guilt twisted his innards in a most unpleasant way.

“Kyran…is something wrong?” Terrance asked, seeing how the thief had stopped in his tracks and went rigid.

“Terrance, there’s – uh – something I need to tell you,” Kyran said as he turned to look at the blonde. He scratched the back of his head and couldn’t get himself to look Terrance in the face.

“What is it?” Terrance asked slowly. Dread began to swell up in his chest. He’d never seen the younger man look so fidgety.

Kyran sighed deeply before finally looking Terrance in the eye and the thief looked almost…sad.

“After this heist I’m…I’m going to leave Gloramical and there’s little chance that I’ll ever come back.”

Terrance bolted up into a sitting position and stared at Kyran with wide, unbelieving eyes.

“You’re going to what!?” he exclaimed in shock. “But – but why would you leave?”

“Well, for a few reasons, really,” Kyran answered, rubbing the back of his arm. It only made his knot of guilt tighten to see the hurt look the Noble was giving him. “After this I’m going to be a very wanted man, more so than I already am. It’ll just be too dangerous for me to stay here,” he explained.

Terrance frowned. What could possibly put him in more danger than he was every second of every day?

“Who are you stealing from?” Terrance demanded. “How can this be so different from all the other Noble’s you’ve stolen from?”

“Sorry, Terry, but I can’t tell you that,” Kyran told him. “You’ll most likely find out by this time tomorrow anyways. Oh stop looking at me like that!” the thief exclaimed as he turned his back on Terrance and, to preoccupy himself, went back to looking for his shirt.

“Besides, we both should have seen this coming,” Kyran continued as he searched through every nook and cranny of the room.

“What do you mean?” Terrance asked him, confused by the statement.

“I’ve told you before that I never stay in one place for too long,” Kyran told him, still keeping his back to the man. He couldn’t stand that look. “It’s a miracle I’ve stayed in Gloramical for this long. I mean, four years, that’s a personal record for me. The reason I’m doing this now is because I’ve felt so…antsy lately. It’s hard to describe, but it’s like every muscle in my body keeps twitching with these weird spasms and I feel like I have to keep moving or else I’ll go insane. That’s when I know its time for me to hit the road. It’s my calling, if you will. Whenever I feel this way I know its time for one last, grand heist then it’s so long for me. It’s just the way it is and can’t be helped.”

Kyran knew he was just babbling for the sake of babbling. He felt that if he just kept talking then there was a chance he could leave before Terrance said a word and made that knot in his gut constrict to the point of it being unbearable.

“Oh, there you are,” Kyran said when he happened to look up and spy a black sleeve dangling off the top of Terrance’s monster of a wardrobe. The thief always had a suspicion that the Noble did things like that on purpose.

Kyran reached up to try and grab the visible sleeve, but it was too far away. He tried bracing himself against the wooden door and standing on tip toe, but the massive wardrobe was just too tall.

Through all of this Kyran didn’t say another word to Terrance, in fact, he pretended like the Noble wasn’t there. It would be easier if he wasn’t, so much easier, but even with that thought the thick silence that had descended on the room was pushing down on the thief and threatening to swallow him up and suffocate him.

“Kyran.”

Terrance’s voice shattered the silence and it felt as if a bucket of ice water was poured over Kyran, making him freeze and shudder involuntarily.

“What?” the thief asked and he wanted to bite his tongue off when his voice shook.

“Come here,” the Noble beckoned him.

The hand that was pressed against the wardrobe curled until Kyran’s nails were biting into the wood. His teeth clenched together until his jaw was pleading for mercy.

“I can’t, Terrance. I can’t,” he choked out.

It was hard to speak since his throat had tightened. He had to get out. He couldn’t be there any longer. If Terrance begged and pleaded for him to stay it was going to kill him. The last thing he wanted was for Terrance to be hurt, but he had to leave. He just had to.

“I have to go, Terry, sorry,” Kyran then said, trying to put some of his humor back into his voice. “Times a wastin’ and I have much to do.”

Kyran hardly registered the creak of the bed or the footsteps that approached him until a pale hand grabbed onto his hand that was still reaching for his shirt. He yelped as he was spun around and his back was pressed firmly into the wardrobe and hands on his upper arms held him there.

“Damn it, Kyran, look at me.”

Kyran reluctantly looked up into Terrance’s face and was surprised to see that the man’s eyes held anger instead of hurt.

“Were you even going to tell me you were leaving? Were you going to leave without so much as a goodbye? Is that what you had planned to do?” Terrance demanded.

“Yes! Yes, all right!” Kyran yelled at him, screwing his eyes closed and turning his head away. “I know it’s not the best thing to do, or even the right thing, but it’s just easier this way. Do you think I like seeing my friends hurt when I leave? Of course I don’t! But I have to leave and not saying goodbye just, it just makes things easier, okay!”

Kyran hated himself for his outburst, but it was all he could do to make Terrance understand his reasoning’s. It was all he could do to make Terrance not hate him.

The dreadful silence returned and Kyran wished he could sink into the floor and run away. He was surprised when one of the hands on his arm left and gently brushed away the strands of hair that were clinging to his face.

“Do you really have to leave?” Terrance asked, and his voice was now soft and gentle and it made Kyran want to weep.

“Don’t ask me that,” the thief hissed through clenched teeth.

“Just answer me, Kyran. Do you really have to leave?” Terrance asked again firmly. His hand cupped Kyran’s face and turned the smaller man’s head to look at him.

“Yes…I do,” Kyran answered unwilling after a long pause. He opened his eyes to stare into Terrance’s beautiful aqua eyes. “I have to leave. Once I get this feeling it’s a sign that I have to go. I can try to ignore it, but sooner or later it’ll eat me away inside. If I don’t get out of this place, out of this city, I’ll die. I just know I will.”

Terrance simply stared at Kyran, assessing his words. He had never heard anything so ludicrous. A feeling being so strong it could kill someone? But the look on Kyran’s face was enough to tell him that the man at least believed his own words.

A gruff sigh left the blonde and his head fell on a surprised Kyran’s shoulder.

“Kayfick. You stupid thief. Just kayfick you and everything about you,” Terrance growled.

“Uh…what?” Kyran said, not knowing what to make of the man’s words.

Terrance lifted his head and glared at Kyran with a full fledged pout.

“You’re the first person I’ve ever been completely comfortable with. The only one I can be myself around. You were always the one to help me unwind after prancing around and putting on a show for those other moronic Nobles and now you’re going to leave me, just like that?”

Kyran’s eyes lowered and he turned his head away from the other man.

“Terry, I’m sor –”

Kyran was cut off as Terrance grabbed his chin and wrenched his face forward again.

“Shut up,” Terrance said sternly. “Don’t apologize for anything. Not one thing.”

Kyran’s eyes widened and a noise of surprise leapt from his throat when Terrance’s lips pressed against his. That was the last thing the younger man had expected. He thought it more likely that the man was going to punch him not kiss him.

When Terrance pulled away Kyran continued to stare at him in bewilderment.

“Oooo-kay, now I’m thoroughly confused,” he said.

Terrance smiled and kissed him lightly.

“Kyran, I have always seen you as my gorgeous wildcat,” the man said, caressing the side of Kyran’s face with the back of his fingers. “But, the truth is, you’ve never been mine. You do not belong to me and I don’t own you. I’ve fooled myself into thinking otherwise, but I’ve always known the truth, deep in my heart. If you say that you need to go then I will not be the one to stop you. You were born to be free and unrestricted and I would rather die than crush your spirit and tether you here for my own, selfish needs.”

The two stared into each other’s eyes until Kyran smiled and threw his arms around Terrance’s neck and hugged the man to him. He sighed in relief as his knot of guilt unwound itself before disappearing completely.

“Terry, you are the sappiest man I ever met,” he said softly as he slowly pulled away enough to look at him. “But thank you, and not just for your understanding, but for everything you’ve done for me.” He leaned up to kiss Terrance. A long, slow, passionate kiss that Kyran hoped would be burned forever in the Noble’s mind.

In response Terrance pressed the thief fully against the wardrobe and deepened the kiss as much as he could, as if he’d devour the other man. His hands began to roam over Kyran’s still bare torso and the thief shuddered and leaned into those hands. That slight movement made liquid lust burn through Terrance’s veins and he pressed his awakening need into the smaller man as he pulled away from those intoxicating lips.

“Kyran, before you go, before you leave and I never see you again, let me take you one last time. Allow me to enjoy every inch of you one last time,” he requested. If the thief left without Terrance being lost in his blissful being one final time, the Noble would be the one to go insane.

Kyran was now panting as Terrance’s hands continued to caress and stroke every bit of visible flesh on his person. The man’s words and touches ignited his own arousal and it was so very hard to say no. It was hard to say no to anything with Terrance’s glorious nude form before him.

Kyran glanced at one of the tall windows. It was still early morning. Maybe it wasn’t necessary for him to quadruple check his plans. Triple would be more than enough.

His grip on Terrance’s neck tightened, pressing his body into the other man’s more.

“Yes, Terry, take me. I want to memorize every movement of your body, every breathy moan that passes your lips, and every look of pleasure you have as you take me,” he whispered huskily on Terrance’s lips.

The moment the words left his mouth Terrance claimed the thief’s lips in needy desperation that Kyran had never seen or felt before. Hands worked at the pants he had just put on and the material, along with his underwear, fell and pooled around his feet. The heated hands then touched and caressed his thighs, making Kyran moan into Terrance’s mouth and spread his legs more.

As soon as Terrance pulled away from their bruising kiss his fingers replaced his lips and danced across Kyran’s kiss swollen mouth.

The thief knew what the man wanted and drew the fingers into his mouth and began to suck on them as Terrance lifted one of Kyran’s legs and hooked it around his waist.

As Terrance watched Kyran’s experienced mouth work his fingers a feral groan rumbled from his chest and he thrust his hips forward into the smaller man’s, making their cocks rub against each other. The gasp Kyran let out only helped to draw Terrance’s fingers further into his mouth.

“You’re so beautiful, Kyran,” Terrance said softly as he lowered his head to taste Kyran’s lovely, golden throat.

The thief replied by curling his tongue around the digits. His back arched and he let out a muffled moan as Terrance went lower and took a dusky nipple into his mouth. It always amazed Kyran how the man used his mouth for so much more than just talking fancy to his peers.

A whine escaped Kyran when the elegant fingers were taken from him. Terrance straightened himself and captured Kyran’s attention by ravishing his mouth in a soul searing kiss. While the thief was distracted Terrance’s hand traveled down until it found its way to Kyran’s entrance.

Kyran’s back arched again and his head fell back as one of the saliva covered digits eased into him. It was made easy from their coupling a few hours before so Terrance knew he wouldn’t have to spend much time in preparing the younger man.

Kyran moaned, deep and lustful, as another finger was added. He held onto Terrance tightly with one arm and lifted his other one to hold onto the edge of the wardrobe. As if he needed to know it would stand firm while his body was consumed by pleasure. He shivered when Terrance’s warm breath rolled across his ear as he whispered,

“Tell me you want it, Kyran. Tell me you need it.”

Kyran whimpered as Terrance’s words dripped with passion and lust. It strung every nerve in his body like a violin string.

“Gods, Terry, yes, nngh, I need it. I need it so bad. Ah!”

He was rewarded as three digits drove into him and assaulted his sensitive inner passage. His breathing came quick and harsh and stopped all together when Terrance hit that spot inside him that made white stars dance across his eyes.

“Oh, Terry, please, Terry, now,” Kyran pleaded aimlessly as his head thrashed back and forth. “Stick it in now. I need to feel you inside me.”

Terrance didn’t need to be told twice. He withdrew his fingers from Kyran and lifted the thief up just enough to position his cock at the smaller man’s entrance. The only warning Terrance gave was a light kiss before his hips snapped forward and his member sank in that tight, familiar heat.

Both men let out sharp cries and Terrance leaned against Kyran’s quivering body. It took all of Terrance’s will power to stay perfectly still and allow the other man to adjust to his girth. The wait was agonizing, but it didn’t last long as Kyran growled low in his throat and tried to move his hips against Terrance. The thief really never was one for patience, not when it came to pleasure.

Terrance couldn’t agree more and slowly pulled himself out a few inches before thrusting right back in.

Kyran’s breath caught in his throat and his body twitched as he was hiked up the wardrobe more. The Noble started a slow rhythm, as if relishing every movement he made, but this only served to drive Kyran crazy. He was into slow and gentle when the time called for it, but now was not one of those times. He wanted Terrance frenzied and out of control like an animal in heat. The thief fixed that by working his inner muscles so they constricted around Terrance in an irresistible, welcoming grip.

Arms fastened around Terrance’s neck as Kyran got what he wanted and the Noble began to frantically piston in and out of him. Each thrust stole Kyran’s breath away and he mewled as he could do nothing but hold on and let Terrance control their love making. His back started to burn just as much as his loins from the friction of the wardrobe and he distantly wondered if it was possible to get wood burn.

As the Noble began to kiss and nip at the thief’s neck Kyran couldn’t help but marvel at the contrast between them. Terrance’s brilliant blonde hair and creamy fair skin against his raven locks and golden, sun kissed skin. They were like night and day merging together to become one, if only for a moment and what a beautiful moment it was.

“Oh, Terry, yes, Ter – nngh,” he moaned over and over as if Terrance’s name was a mantra.

Kyran tossed his head back and cried out when one of Terrance’s hands snuck between them and hot fingers wrapped around his neglected arousal and began to stroke him in time with the incessant thrusts. His toes curled as he was stimulated so nicely. He was approaching his climax fast and there was no way he could hold it off. Not that he would want to anyways.

“Terrance!” Kyran cried out as he was tossed over the edge of oblivion. His come painted both his torso and Terrance’s and the Noble groaned as Kyran’s walls clamped down around him.

With only a few more snaps of his hips Terrance followed Kyran to completion and filled the thief with his essence. The men clung to each other as they fought to get air back in their lungs. Terrance slipped his softening member out of Kyran and lowered the smaller man down before his trembling legs gave out.

Kyran sighed contentedly as he held the Noble to him, savoring the heat that radiated off the man’s skin. He moaned and a shiver ran up his spin as he felt Terrance’s seed leak from inside him and dribble down his legs, warm and sticky proof that it had been good for both of them.

Terrance was perfectly content with leaning against Kyran and the wardrobe as he recovered, but his afterglow was disrupted when the thief’s body shook as he began to laugh. The Noble straightened himself so he could look at Kyran questioningly.

“What’s so funny?” he asked. He only received a brief smirk before Kyran pounced on him and sent them tumbling to the floor.

Terrance groaned as Kyran landed on top of him and the weight of the thief expelled all the air he had just got back. He tried to glare when Kyran sat up and straddled him, who then leaned over the Noble with a playful smile.

“And what was that for, might I ask?” Terrance inquired with a raised, pale brow.

Kyran chuckled as he weaved his fingers in Terrance’s lush, golden hair and bent down to rain kisses all over the Noble’s handsome face.

“That was the best going away present anyone has ever given me.”

Terrance simply laughed and pulled Kyran’s body against his own and continued to kiss him until the very world melted away.

After the two men recovered fully, and were able to tear away from each other, they used Terrance’s water basin to wash away the evidence of their love making. They then dressed in silence. They couldn’t stall anymore. Kyran had his plans to put into action and Terrance had business of his own he had to see to.

Once Terrance shrugged on one of his finely tailored, sapphire blue coats he watched as Kyran finished dressing and threw his old, worn cloak over his shoulders. When they were done the two stared at each other, not knowing what to do or say.

Kyran looked away first. His knot came back and he felt as though he would be sick to his stomach. He was leaving on good terms now, but, somehow, it didn’t make it any easier.

His eyes widened in surprise when he was abruptly pulled into a hug. Terrance held him tightly and nestled his face into Kyran’s hair, which only made the thief bury his face in the Noble’s chest.

“You take care of yourself, Kyran,” Terrance said softly as he stroked Kyran’s hair gently. “I would hate to find out that the great Phantom Shadow got into some kind of trouble,” he said with a small smile.

Kyran laughed and wrapped his arms around the man’s waist.

“Not only are you a sap, Terry, but you also worry too much. I’m going to be fine. No one can catch a shadow.”

They held each other awhile longer until Kyran broke away from Terrance, who let go reluctantly.

“I hope life is good to you, Terrance. Who knows, maybe one day our paths will cross again. Life is an unpredictable mistress,” Kyran said as he made his way to the window he had used so frequently to enter the house.

“Yes, I suppose that’s all I can hope for,” Terrance said with a solemn nod. “Goodbye, Kyran.”

Before Kyran slipped through the open window he turned and smiled back at the Noble.

“Let’s not leave this as goodbye,” he told Terrance. “Instead it’ll be, until next time.”

A gust of window blew into the room and the floor length curtain was lifted into the air. It whipped about for a few seconds until the wind died down and released the curtain. When it settled the window was bare with no sign that a thief named Kyran had ever graced it with his presence.

Terrance stared at the spot for a long time after that. It was hard for him to believe that he would never see that playful, mischievous face again, or hear that cocky voice, or feel that lovely, soft skin against his own.

Terrance finally tore his eyes away from the window and headed for the door to go back to his mundane life as a Noble. When his hand rested on the doorknob he looked back at the window one last time.

If someone had told him, years ago, that he would meet a devious, cunning, and endearing thief that would not only liberate his life, but steal his heart, Terrance would have laughed in their face and called them crazy. Life was an unpredictable mistress indeed.

Terrance smiled sadly as he opened the door.

“Until next time, Kyran.”

Then Terrance was gone and the door closed behind him with one last click.

===================================Ch. 2 End

I cannot tell you how hilarious I find it how much longer these chapters are turning out compared to their other, poorly written, counterparts. In this chapter you were also supposed to meet Shoa and experience his shitty life, but Kyran and Terrance took the spotlight and kept it. So I decided to just leave this as a kind of fanservice chapter. Besides, it helped me deepen the bond between the two.

In the first version it really grated on my nerves because when Terrance found out Kyran was leaving he was like “Le gasp, what!? How could you leave!? Okay, I’m over it, let’s have sex.” Very irking in my opinion, so I really worked on changing it so he was more or less devastated, yet understanding, throughout the whole thing.

It’s sad, really. Deep down I feel that Kyran and Terrance would have fallen in love and would have been able to make it through anything and be in love forever and ever. Too bad Fate has other plans for Kyran and has torn them apart. Fate’s a bitch that way.

All right, lovelies, I shall let you go on with your lives and hopefully I’ll be able to crank out another chapter before my mini-vacation is over. (God, you know your childhood has officially died when you’re dreading summer. It’s a sad, sad day I tell you) Until then everyone have a good summer for me! And remember, reviews are love! *lick*
