Chapter 2
Murphy's 2nd Law
-"Everything takes longer than you think."

By the time Jace and Kyra get to their two bedroom apartment after school they are totally drained and neither feels much like studying.
"Don't get too occupied. We have to leave for Love's house in a half hour."
"Love? What happened to bitch," Kyra smiles.
Jace only stares at Kyra as he flops down silently onto the couch in the middle of their living room.
Why Love? The world may never know.
"After we get back some bitch is coming over so don't be alarmed by the screams."
Making a girl climax is always Jace's specialty. He could do it blind-folded and backwards by the age of eight, compliments of his pedophile mother.
"I never am."
Jace continues to look on as Kyra drifts off into one of his thought induced stupors. After getting bored with this very quickly Jace walks upstairs to shower before going out.
I wonder who's going to get the girl this time. I've read enough romance Manga's-Angel Sanctuary, Inuyasha, Mars, Marmalade Boy, Peach Girl, Kill Me/Kiss Me, Card Captor Sakura, Crazy Love Story, Fruits Basket, Sailor Moon, The One I Love, A.I. Love You, Love Hina, Snow Drop, Eerie Queerie-to know that one of us will gain this deep meaning connection with her, only to be an ass and throw everything away. Afterwards, we'll get back together only to have something life altering happen and break us up again. Then the two of us will end up never being friends again because one of us will actually love her, while the other one is just...Hey, I'm just trying to prepare for the plot of the story...(*Author Note* LOL i thought this was a funny thing to add. Tell me if I should keep or not.)
Kyra is broken out of his thoughts by the piercing ring of the telephone. He falls off the couch with a soft thud. He raises his hand to the coffee table beside him. "Hello. God's gift to women speaking. Oh hey, gorgeous. Yeah, me and Jace are on our way over now."
"Whipped!" Jace coughs out from above Kyra's head.
"Noise? What noise? Oh, that was just the stray dog I picked up a few years ago. Once you get those damn things, you can never get rid of them." Kyra stands up from the floor and punches Jace in the gut. "Yeah, well, we're leaving now. Yeah. Bye."
Jace is clad in a white hooded jacket and sweatpants, with matching white sneakers and do-rag. "I hope you didn't forget our bet."
"Of course not. I hope you didn't forget we're riding my bike to her house." Kyra rolls up the light blue sleeves of his collared, buttoned down shirt. He brushes off his dark denim jeans, which trail down to his black shoes.
"What does that have to do with anything?"
"It means...you're in the bitch seat, again. Bitch!" Kyra slams him in the forehead with the palm of his hand and begins a steady sprint down the hall and away from a steaming Jace.
Jace finally catches up to Kyra, his chest heaving in and out from racing up the stairs. "You cheater."
"You're such a sore loser." Kyra leans up against the doorbell to catch his breath.
"One of these days I'm going to finally beat you."
"You can try."
The door swings open to the apartment door they are both standing in front of revealing their third partner standing in white cotton sweatpants and a shirt saying the phrase 'I would rather die than look at your face'. "What took you two so long?"
"Hey, beautiful." Kyra looks in through the archway. The house is decorated with Modern Asian statues, wallpaper, and floor tiling. The walls are like the inner likings of a dojo and the floor is finished with polished wood. There are statues of different Japanese, Chinese, and Korean sculptures and paintings, and the living room is furnished with pillows rather than actual chairs.
Jace rolls his eyes and pushes through the door. "Can we get finished this? I have business to attend to tonight."
"Is your dad at home?" Kyra looks inside the small two bedroom apartment.
"I don't have a father and my mother is at work. She works nights."
Kyra finally steps inside. He is immediately engulfed with a warmth that Jace and his apartment lack. "Nice."
"Um, I set up in the kitchen. Follow me." She begins back into the apartment into the kitchen. "Follow me, everything is alright. I'll be the one to tuck you in at night and if you want to leave I can guarantee. You won't find nobody else like me!"
Kyra and Jace stare at each other and then her. Jace is the first of the two to speak up. "Is the gas on?"
"Huh? Oh no. I just tend to break out into song when I hear a familiar lyric." They sit around the small kitchen table. "Which class do you want to start with?"
Jace leans slightly in toward Kyra. "Are you sure about this one? She seems like she's definitely on the verge of pulling a Mariah Carey."
Kyra pushes Jace back over to his side of the table. "Advanced Calc. I was never any good at math."
"Neither am I." She admits.
“So," Jace begins. "What is your first name? It's been driving me crazy."
"Tru."
"Wait. You're name's Tru Love?"
Tru nods her head at Kyra. "My parents were hopeless romantics, so they changed their last name to Love. They say that I'm a product of their true love." She finally gets around to opening her Calculus book. "You think that's weird? My older brothers name is Riel."
"You have an older brother?"
Tru smiles and nods her head at Jace. "Half brother, but he's the closet person I have to a father. He's the one that taught me everything I know about the male species."
"Like when one tries to get your attention, you should knee him between the legs?"
"Exactly." She laughs a little. "I apologize about that. You guys aren't so bad, when you're being human."
"What the fuck is that supposed to mean?" Jace works his way to actually picking up a pencil.
"Stop cursing and I'll tell you." Tru picks up another pencil and hands it to Kyra. "My brother always told me, that you can be right and not be correct. I was definitely right in thinking you two are arrogant, conceited, vain, decietful, manipulative, pretty boys, that think they can get anything they want from whory girls that cream their pants at the sight of them. However, once I actually got to have an actual conversation with the two of you and came to find that you actually do possess human emotions...are these words becoming too big for your little male brains?"
Kyra scoffs. “I can speak English."
"Saying you 'can' do something is simply stating that you have the ability to do it. Actually, doing and accomplishing the task is, knowing."
"How about this, Tru? If you both don't stop talking, I know that I can shove this pencil up your-."
Kyra interrupts. "Is your brother here?"
"Um, yeah. He's in our room." Tru stands up from the chair. "I'll go get him so you can meet him."
"No, I didn't mean-." She is long gone before Kyra lets his second word escape from his lips.
"I never thought I would see the day when Kyra Day got whipped by some bitch."
"You shouldn't talk, Jace."
"Why shouldn't I, Kyra?"
"Because then you sound as stupid as you look. You'll never when the bet-."
"Here he is!" Tru steps back into the room with a spiky, fiery red-headed boy. He is shirtless, only standing in a pair of black boxers. "My brother, Riel."
Riel yawns widely and scratches himself through his boxers, as he walks over to the refrigerator without so much as a sound uttered.
Tru shrugs and sits back down at the table. "He just got off work and he's really tired. He really supports my mom and me. I had to pull him out of bed."
"Next time you wake me up, Tru, make sure the guys are cuter than they are." Riel leaves the kitchen as soundless as he came.
"I know I'm hot, but that's the first time a guy has ever come that close to calling me cute."
"I bet you liked it, Jace."
Tru rolls her eyes. "Shut up. My brother's bi-sexual. He could never make a decision, even when it came to making a decision between the two sexes."
"I knew fag, was becoming contagious.
"It was those pretty boy band members that had him first debating. The guys look good. I guess it's my fault. I was into them first. Then I showed him a singer name BoA and that totally had him on the fence. So, he never chose. He decided to like both."
Jace nods intently. "So he's a semi-fag."
Tru looks at him disgusted. "I knew there was a reason I thought this was a bad idea." Tru stands up from the table. "We'll study another time, far, far from this moment. For now, you both need to leave."
"Jace didn't mean anything by it. It's just Jace being Jace."
"The I hell I didn't!"
"Get out!" Tru stands up from the table and leaves the room. Moments later Kyra and Jace hear the slamming of a door.
Jace stands up suddenly knocking all of the books off the table. "This bitch is just crazy!" He storms to the door Kyra in tote.
“What the fuck is all the yelling about!” Riel stomps out of his bedroom in a frenzy.
“Those idiots! They’re so...so...so!”
Riel smirks at his frustrated baby sister. “You could always just tell him that you’ve loved him since seventh grade.”
Tru flops down on a large pillow in the middle of the floor. “And give him the satisfaction of being one of those whorey girls that cream in their pants over him at school. Never.”
