The Moonshine Triad ~ An Introduction
Renee put on her coat and stepped out onto the porch. She noticed three sets of footprints in the snow leading from the porch, across the yard and to the barn. She could hear soft laughter from the barn. She always wanted to hang out in the barn with them. Rachel would never let Renee stay for long because she didn't want Renee around "if the cops showed up."
Renee made her way across the yard and up to the barn's door. It was opened enough for Renee to see in. The barn was now silent, too silent. She knew that Rachel couldn't keep her mouth shut for too long, especially when she was around James and Roger.
She jumped when she heard soft giggles and an occasional rustling. Renee opened the door a little more and crept in. She looked around. No one was around the still. That only left one other option... the hay loft.
Renee had once heard Riff Raff lecturing Rachel about being in the hay loft with two men twice her age. Rachel had just turned twenty-two and she had spent most of the evening and half the night in the hay loft with James and Roger. Riff Raff had found Rachel in the hay loft being kissed and fondled by the two. Riff Raff just told them to watch themselves. He couldn't afford to lose James or Roger as moonshiners. Apart from Rachel, they were the best he had.
"Rachel?" Renee called. She was greeted with a very audible "Dammit to hell!" and James and Roger protesting.
"What is it?" Rachel asked, poking her head of the edge of the hay loft. Her long, brown hair was tousled slightly.
"Why aren't you making the 'shine?" Renee asked.
"We've finished it for now. So, we thought we'd kill time." James poked his head over. His face was cover with light pink lip prints.
"You're finished? It's only 9 a.m." Renee stated.
"You know we wake up early, love. We've had our brekky with our spot of tea and we've made enough moonshine for two or three people." Roger said with a smile as he joined the other two.
"That's what I love about you three; you're always on top of things." Renee said with a smile.
"Spot on! That's us... always on time and on top of everything." Rachel said with a cocky smirk.
"No, love. You're the only one 'on top.'" James laughed. Rachel grinned and slapped his shoulder. Rachel was the most outspoken and the cheekiest of the three. She always said what she thought and how she felt and she didn't hold anything back. She always stood up for her friends and family.
Roger was outspoken and cheeky to point and somewhat conservative about his thoughts and feelings. He was more apt to say what he thought and how he felt when he was upset. He always stood behind his family and friends
James was quiet and soft spoken. He was possibly the more sarcastic one of the three. He rarely opened up about his thoughts and feeling, that is unless he was talking to Rachel. He rarely stood behind his family due to some fights he had with them. He always managed to stand behind his friends. Renee loved the threesome despite their quirkiness. She couldn't do anything else but love them.
