Chapter 2
Episode Two
Lacey checked her clock; it was almost time for her to meet Aiden. She was almost excited to give him a ride. But the thought of her reputation kept killing her excitement, reminding her that if they were seen together, they might as well never go to school again. Kennedy high was highly segregated into various clicks, and if one crossed into another they were expelled from their group and denounced of whatever reputation they had. Lacey’d seen it happen on two accounts, it was a cruel school, but everyone knew their place.

Aiden saw Lacey ride into the parking lot of the beach; he stayed waiting by his car. She parked in front of it, straddling the bike, her boots on the ground, laced up to her knees her cut offs loose around her slender legs. And a red tank top under her Harley leather jacket. Aiden stepped towards the bike. As Lacey pulled off her helmet, dark hair cascaded down her back, the pink streak fell in her gold eyes. She picked up a second helmet from behind her.
“No one rides this bike without one, I don’t want a death on my hands.” She said holding it out to him.
“I can deal with that.” He said, and swung a leg over the bike.
“You can either hold onto the sides of your seat. Or my waist…the first is more preferred by me…but what ever makes you feel safer.” Lacey said coldly pulling on her helmet.
Aiden gently put his hands on her waist. Lacey almost jumped, his touch was static…and she didn’t like the warm fuzzy feeling in her stomach. She had obligations in England, and to her reputation.
“Ok hold on tight…and let’s ride, baby.” Lacey said and revved the engine, speeding away onto a small road through the nearby forest. Aiden’s adrenaline pumped through his body, he looked down at his hands. They held tight to Lacey’s slender waist, he’d never really touched her before, besides the occasional brush in the hallway. He secretly wish he could touch more of her.

They rode on for at least an hour before Lacey slowed down, and pulled over to the side of the rode. She got off the bike, Aiden got off behind her. She went to the back and opened the storage. Pulling out two bottles of Dasani and a container of brownies.
“Break time. Your bum starts to hurt after too long.” She said handing him a bottle then leaned on the bike. And took a long drink, then opened the container of brownies and offered Aiden one.
Aiden took it…no words spoken, though there were a thousand things he wanted to tell her. He took a step closer to her and touched the pink lock of hair.
“What made you choose pink?” He asked fingering her hairs velvety smoothness. Lacey half smiled.
“It was my little brother’s favorite color.”
“Pink?”
“What’s wrong with that?”
“Isn’t it a girl color?”
“Not for him it wasn’t”
“Oh… I like it.” Aiden was taking a big leap by complimenting her, he knew the football players would torture him for life if they found out.
“Thanks… now it’s my turn. Why did you ask me for a bloody ride?”
“Because I wanted to see what it was like.”
“But Hicks has a bike…why not ask him? He’s in your circle of football buddies.”
Aiden was caught in a corner and Lacey knew it. Her golden eyes were flashing, as she flicked her pink hair out of her eyes. She stretched out her legs and crossed her arms over her chest.
“I think you know.”
“I think I want you to tell me.”
“Why embarrass both of us?”
“Because you’ll feel better once you’ve told me.”
“God your good… ok fine… I like you Lacey, Lord knows how much I didn’t want to at first, but I mean…you’re different.”
“Different?”
“From the girls I usually date, the preppy rich girls who talk about nothing but themselves. But you you’re, interesting, gorgeous, and mysterious.”
“Thank you…and you are not to bad looking yourself, and well every girl in the school would want to go out with you, but I have boundaries.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean I don’t live here…my home is in London, and when I came I swore I wouldn’t get involved because I’d just have to leave.”
Aiden took a step closer till his legs were on either side of hers. “Then we’ll make it a fling. We graduate in five months…and you’ll leave and I’ll stay.”
“But isn’t that what I’m trying to avoid?”
“No because you won’t have to get emotionally involved.”
“But what about you?”
“I can hold my feelings back.”
Lacey looked at him long and hard, then sighed, her gut told her this was a bad idea, but her hormones were racing, and she smiled. “Ok sure, but it’s a secret fling…nothing more.”
“Nothing more.” Aiden uncrossed her arms and leaned down. “I promise” he whispered.
She smiled at him, and slid her fingers up to pull his head down to hers. "We have a deal," she said softly. His lips found hers a little roughly, and she arched up to meet his kiss without hesitation. Lacey pulled away.
“I think I could get used to this.” She said, with a smirk and pulled him into another kiss.

By the time they arrived back at Aiden’s car, they’d been out well past two hours. Aiden hopped off the bike, as Lacey pulled off her helmet. Aiden smiled and handed her the helmet, Lacey set it on the seat behind her.
“Thanks for the ride. It was amazing.” Aiden said hoping she’d read in between the lines.
“It was...”
“Could I entice you to dinner someday?”
“I guess…I’ll cook though, call me later and I’ll tell you the details.”
“Gotcha.”
Lacey got off the bike, as Aiden headed to the drivers side of his mustang. Lacey followed him, and put a hand on his arm.
“This maybe a secret but I still get a goodbye kiss.”
“Daring…I like that.” Aiden said and they kissed one last time before Lacey sped off on her bike.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
That night Lacey sat in her apartment, and thought over the day. God, she was living every girl at Kennedy High’s dream…hooking up with Aiden. A black cat brushed up against Lacey’s leg as she finished her glass of milk.
“You know Shadow… I don’t think I’ve ever been happier then I am right now.”
Lacey got up and went to her room, the cat lazily followed.

Aiden threw his keys on the counter and headed up to his bedroom. Not bothering to tell his mother he was back. She was probably drugged and in bed already. Aiden knew one thing; Lacey was never meeting his mother. Then Aiden smiled just the idea that Lacey might have the chance to meet his mother, made their new relationship…well fling… all the more real.
Aiden took a shower, changed, finished his homework, and went to bed. Thinking of tomorrow and what new things it would bring.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Lacey got up early, she had the breakfast shift today, 7-12, and then she had her usual Sunday shift during lunch, 12-3.
“Why do I always take over for Kim?” Lacey asked herself as she pulled on her jeans, and tee shirt that said ‘Jimmy’s Bar-b-que’
She ate breakfast quickly then headed out the door.
“Bye Shadow, I’ll be back later”
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Aiden woke up, and got dressed, he hated Sundays. As he pulled a comb through his hair his cell rang from its spot on the bedside table.
Aiden picked it up, “Hello?”
“Aiden,” Jakes voice said from the other end, “couple of the boys and I are going to Jimmy’s for lunch, wanna join us?”
“Sure I’ll see you there!”
“See ya, bye” Jake hung up. Aiden hung up his phone and set it back down, and then went to eat breakfast.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Aiden pulled into the parking lot at Jimmy’s. Inside he joined up with Jake, Keith and Freddie Hicks… and other guys from the football team. They had already been given menus.
“Hey guy’s what’s up.”
“Nothing, we’re here to get pay back on the girl who socked me.” Keith said with a scowl as their waitress arrived.
“Welcome to Jimmy’s, Can I start you off with something to…it’s you!” That’s when Aiden looked up to see a pair of golden eyes, and a streak of pink hair against dark black pulled into a pony tail. Lacey’s surprise soon turned into anger…her mouth curled into a scowl.
“What do you want?” Lacey said taking a slight step back.
“I want pay back.”
“Because I hit you? HA!” Lacey turned her head towards Aiden, “What can I get you, hunny?” She said sounding professional but looking at him with a deep stare that sent a buzz through Aiden’s system.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Mitch watched from the bar, his mind was spinning as he thought back to the night before.
He’d been at a party, where he’d gotten drunk, stoned, and laid…by the last person he’d thought he’d do it with…Janie! The one girl he’d crushed on for three years, she was dumb, yes, but she was gorgeous.
Mitch sighed, thinking of how he was ganna tell Lacey…could he tell her? Probably not, she’d bite his head off, Lacey hated Janie and vise versa. Mitch sighed as Lacey walked over.
“Stupid bloody git”
“Yow…someone’s pissed.”
“The guy I socked the other day is back.” Lacey growled as Jasmine walked by, “Hey Jazz…can I switch a table with you, I got some guys hassling me.”
“Yeah sure, least I can do after you took over my shift last week.” Jazz replied and headed towards the table Lacey had pointed at. Then she headed towards the bathrooms.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Aiden got up and headed towards the bathrooms, as he walked down the empty hallway towards the men’s bathroom sign. Lacey exited the women’s bathroom, and ran right into Aiden.
“Well hello there…”
“Hey… So you’re the girl who punched Keith.”
“Yeah, he was hitting on me…and I wouldn’t have that.”
“Ah…but you know Keith won’t let it go till he gets pay back.”
“Well then he’s going to get severely hurt… if he tries to touch me again.”
Aiden took a step closer to her, “Of course, no one should touch you against you’re will.” Aiden said brushing his fingers down her face.
“Lucky for you, I love it when you touch me.” She said taking steps until they stood about an inch apart. Aiden leaned down and kissed her, she leaned back against the wall. She returned the pressure on Aiden's lips and slipped her arms around the boy's narrow waist. She felt Aiden's hands slide into her hair. They kept kissing, and slowly, Aiden's tongue found its way into Lacey's mouth.
“Lacey, you’ve got a table to work!” A voice called down the hall. Lacey pulled back.
“I gotta go, dinner’s at 1230 Juniper Ave., at 6:00 Wednesday night. I’m in apartment 31. I’ll see you in school.”
“You got it, see you on Monday”
Lacey slipped out from under him and smoothed out her outfit. Heading back to work as Aiden went back to his table.

Janie sat in her room; her head throbbed from the night before. She couldn’t remember a thing…but the great sex with that…punk Mitch. She smiled to herself, and prayed to god she’d be able to do that again.
“I guess, labels don’t count.” She said to herself, and downed a couple advil.
