Study Buddies

Chapter 2
Study Buddies

Everyone was almost gone with the exception of Rochelle and a few other boys that were laughing loudly about the event. Danny and Rochelle was away from the boys. They were in the main hall with only a few maids appearing every now and then. He held her hand, his fingers resting between hers, and his thumb stroked her hand gently. Rochelle couldn’t help but blush. “Before you go…” He whispered, “I just…” Danny tilted her chin to look up at him; it only make the blood rush to her cheeks faster.
He leaned in, his eyes closing. Their lips touched soon afterwards. Danny smiled, parting his lips. He pulled away, hearing the doorbell ring. “Uhm…” He laughed, leading her back towards the main room, “Thank you.” He waved to a friend who left the mansion. “Thank you for tonight.”
Rochelle did nothing but nodded her head. “I… I guess I should get going, my mom might be w- w- waiting outside.”

She sighed, smiling to herself, she lifted a hand, placing it on chest, over her fast beating heart. Rochelle smiled to herself, brushing a loose hair behind her ear as she waited for her mother. The girl tried to put on a frown on her face, or at least tried to pretend that she didn’t have the best of time at the party.

One of the few red cars drove by, a red Ford Fusion then pulled to a stop near the mansion, and the black window – or at least, that’s what it looked like then – rolled down. Rochelle’s mother’s face came into view as she waved a hand out of the window, smiling widely. The little wallflower pursed a lips slightly walking over towards the sleek car, opening the passenger door and slid in.

“How was the party?” Her mother glanced over at her daughter as she pulled out of the drive way, and quickly zoomed towards their house. Rochelle shrugged, staring out of the window, watching the trees blur past her. “Was it worth the money?” The girl shrugged again. “Did you have fun though?” Another shrug came by. “Okay.” That was it. Then only silence for the rest of the ride.

When the mother and daughter returned home, the girl quickly washed off the makeup and slipped into her comfortable pajamas. I’ll take a shower tomorrow morning. I have to go study now. Rochelle thought to herself as she walked over to her study table. The girl flipped open the book that was closest to her and began reading through what she needed for Monday. A pencil that was taken out of the pen holder weaved in and out and in between her fingers, twirling it around like a professional baton twirler. Her full lips mouthed the words printed on the textbook, every single word written, she memorizes.

One A.M. rolled by slowly before she switched to another book. “Honey, are you not going to sleep yet?” Her mother peeked into the room, to only see her daughter shake her head. With a sigh, her mother closed to door, walking downstairs, preparing a light snack for her daughter. Yeah, she was grateful to the heavens for her having a daughter like her, but need she study so hard? A sandwich was prepared for Rochelle and her mother knocked on the door, “Rochelle, honey, I have a snack for you.” She took a few more steps into the room, setting it onto the nightstand before she made her way out of the room without another peep.

Turning her head around, her green eyes stared at the closed door. “Thanks, Mom.” Rochelle whispered. After that though, she never turned her head back towards the door again. Her attention went towards her studying and only her studying, never did she once take a break – well, not until the sun’s morning ray began to shine through the closed curtains in her room. She closed the thick textbook once she heard the sound of the slumbering birds waking, the sounds of distant barking of dogs…

The brunette fell back into her cotton filled bed, sinking in comfortably. Her green eyes stared up at the blank ceiling, tracing over the patterns that she stared at for the past twelve years. Blinking a few times, she squinted her eyes trying to see one of the patters imprinted upon the white painted wall. Did that outline somehow resemble Danny? Danny…

Until the last of Danny’s guest left, he stood around, talking to them, having a casual conversation. Laughers and jokes were traded between some of the guys that remained for a while longer.

“…Are you guys going to be staying…?”

“Ahh.. I’m not sure, we might have to go soon… Do you know where it’s going to be next?”

Danny shook his head, raising an eyebrow, “I’ll be sure to tell you when I find out.”

After the rest of his friends have gone off, Danny went about the house, cleaning up what was left over from the party. Then with that finished, he trudged upstairs slowly, yawning out loudly heading for his room. The sixteen year old opened the door to his room, then slammed it behind him once he entered his chamber.

Closing her eyes, her hands covered her face, groaning out loudly in the deepest frustration. In her mind, she could only picture that image of Danny earlier at the party. His blonde hair, his blue eyes shining brightly, his wonderful white teeth, his beautiful smile.. his laugh, his soft lips brushing against hers… the gentle voice he uses when he spoke to her…

Her eyes slowly became heavier and heavier, so throwing her comforter over her body, tired from all the studying and that weak attempt to picture Danny in her mind, called masturbation, Rochelle quickly fell asleep dreaming of her and Danny.

Turning and flipping around in her bed, Rochelle’s baggy eyes snapped opened, seeing the suns’ bright rays burning into her eyes. Moaning quietly to herself, Rochelle stretched, rubbed her eyes and glanced over at the analog clock that sat upon her desktop. The short hand on the eleven and the long hand on the two. 11:10 A.M. This was just about the latest she’s ever woken up.

Sticking her two legs out, she stepped onto the carpeted floor, opening the door at the same time grabbed the snack, she never laid a finger on, out of the room with a full set of bed hair. Yawning out loudly, once more, going down a few stairs at a time.

Making her way to the kitchen, she mumbled a good morning to her mother, well, at least half a morning and without her mother. The brunette froze, never expecting to see his blue eyes at such an early morning, especially with no notice. “Danny!” her voice cracked, blinking a few times, “Danny! Wh—” She laughed weakly, walking over to the sink, putting the plate with the sandwich in there, never tearing away from the sixteen year old. “What are you doing here?”

“Well, you left your purse at my place yesterday. I was going to go out and get you, but you’ve already left by the time I found it. Okay, well, I found it in the morning.” He gave Rochelle a crooked smile, rolling his eyes,” Yeah,, anyways, I decided to drop by and return it to you.” He lifted up his hand with her purse linked to him. “There.”

Walking over towards the table, she took the purse away from Danny, setting it on the kitchen counter, before turning from side to side, glancing around the room. Was it just the two of them? She gave another weak laugh, “Um… Do you know where my mother is?”

“She’s at the grocery.” He grinned at the brunette as he leaned back in the chair, “I came here a while ago, and she told me to stay.”

“That’s cool.” She blushed slightly, knowing that the two of them were at her house, alone. She lifted up a hand, running a finger through her hair, only to hit a knot. After yanking it a couple times, Rochelle chortled quietly, biting her lower lip, embarrassed. “Um… hold on. Why don’t you stay here for a moment. I’m gonna…” Her voice trailed off as she ran up the stairs closing the bathroom door shut as she pulled out her hair brush and began combing through every knot that came in her way.

Rochelle wasn’t the kind that cared much for appearance, but a bed head in front of a guest wasn’t much considered a respectful gesture. “Damn it!” She cursed to herself, frowning as her brush got stuck in her hair.

Remaining seated down, Danny watched Rochelle run out of the room, and up the stairs with her feet making out thump, thump, thump sounds above him. He laughed to himself as he stayed where he was. The blonde head turned from side to side, the kitchen was an antique white and a sky blue, filled with unused Chinas. The kitchen was clean, just like his kitchen.

But, after a few minutes of just sitting in silence, it began to feel uncomfortable for Danny. He came here, after all, to see Rochelle. The boy pushed the chair back, and made his way for the stairs.

Rochelle’s house wasn’t anything compared to Danny’s mansion, but it had it’s own homey feeling – more homey than his mansion, then again…

“Ow!” The blonde jumped up, turning his head from side to side, hearing her voice. His eyes widened. Then sighed, knowing that it was Rochelle, he continued making his way up the stairs, pausing every now and then when the steps groaned under his weight. Another “Ow!” came his way.

“Damn it!” With a grin upon his face, the Californian opened the door slowly, peeking into the room. “Hey there.” The words left in a whisper, and he grinned seeing the green eyes pop out of her head. “Danny!”

His grin widened as Danny pushed the door further and made his way into the bathroom, sliding his hands into the pockets of his hands, he looked around examining the room surrounding him.

The bathroom was decorated like a small beach room, with random seashells of different sizes glued onto the ceiling, and the shower curtain had a palm tree and an image of the sunset ocean. “Very cute.” He muttered, smiling at his wallflower. “Thanks.” Rochelle pursed her lips as she continued to yank out the knots. “Ugh!” She groaned, tiling her head back, forgetting that Danny was ever in the room.

Staring into the mirror now, she saw her ‘boyfriend’ in the same room as her. Sure, she noticed earlier, but she didn’t really ‘pay attention’. “Danny!” She yelled out once more, turning around rapidly, the brush stuck in her long brown hair swung around quickly, almost smacking the boy in the face. “Whoa!” He laughed, swiftly grabbing the handle, stopping it in its track. Thank goodness for reflex.

“I like it when you call out my name like that.” He whispered, leaning into her, “It’s kind of sexy.” His face only inches away from her, as he gently pulled out the brush. Rochelle flushed, turning away from Danny, and quickly grabbed the brush away from his hand. “Thanks…” she quickly changed the subject, “What are you doing up here? I thought I told you to stay downstairs.”

Frowning slightly as he watched Rochelle yank on her hair, he placed a hand over hers, “Let me do it.” He gently placed a hand on the top of her head and pulled the brush tenderly down, going through without a problem. There was a moment of silence, before he spoke up once more, “Well, I didn’t come all the way here and stay just to listen to the silence and befriend your kitchen table. I came here to see you, and I want to see you.” He smiled, running his finger through her hair. “There.” He placed the brush on the table, and then wrapped his arms around Rochelle. He gathered her hair, pulling them to one side over her shoulder and rested his chin on the other one.

“Thanks again for last night. You made it the best party ever.” He smiled, kissing her shoulder, “I couldn’t stop thinking about you…” Rochelle gasped, pulling away from Danny. “Um, I think, I’m going to go to the library.” She smiled faintly before making her way downstairs. Danny followed.

He remained as cool as he was all the time, his hands in his pockets, and his face just about expressionless. “I’ll study with you.” He smiled innocently, tilting his head towards the side. “Um, sure. I guess.” Rochelle blinked a few times, gazing at him for a moment. She didn’t seem too sure that she wanted him to come. “The library isn’t too far away from my house. So, it’s not too long of a walk.” She spoke to him as she quickly wrote down on a piece of paper – to her mother – stating that she was going to be off at the library.

The pair walked out of the small two-story house and made their way towards the library. She walked in front; he walked behind her, remaining silent. His blue eyes looked around the neighborhood. He’s never been to this side of the city before let alone it’s not all that rich. Yeah, that’s what he’s used to.

Danny sighed, pausing next to Rochelle as they got ready to make their way across the street. “Do you go to the library often?” Rochelle nodded, looking away from Danny. “Then, I know where I can look for you now.” He laughed wearily, but hearing no reply from the girl, he cleared his throat looking elsewhere. “Look, I –”

“Oh, hey.” Rochelle pointed to the antique yellow looking man, symbolizing that they were allowed to cross the street. “Let’s go.” She quickly avoided him, making her way quickly across the street to the other side, hoping that Danny wasn’t able to notice it and get left behind. Sadly, Danny quickly caught up.

“Rochelle!” He reached out and grabbed her hand, pulling her towards him. “Yo. What are you doing?” It wasn’t his best idea, pulling her to him in the middle of the street, and that’s where they stayed, in the intersection.

“Danny! What are you doing?” Her eyes were wide as she was yanked towards him. “We’re in the middle of a busy street!” The sixteen year old frowned, his brows meeting each other, “Hey. What’s wrong?”

“What? Nothing’s wrong.” She lowered her voice to a whisper, as she looked away from him. Not believing a word that the girl said, Danny wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close to him. “Look. I’m not going to just throw you away once I have my way with you. I honestly like you, Rochelle.” He stared intently into her green eyes. “Please, stop being so distant with me!” He begged her, biting his lower lip. “I realize it’s really fast and sudden, but…”

“Let’s talk about this once we’re sure that we’re not road kill.” Rochelle smiled faintly, looking up at the taller boy. She took his hands and quickly ran across the street, stopping just in time before a car actually made them road kill. “Holy shit.” He laughed as she did so.

After that car drove by, the couple reached the sidewalk. The two of them laughed as they made their way to the library, Danny sighed, wrapping his arms around her shoulders, pulling Rochelle close to him.

He glanced down at the girl. “I wanna hear you say that you like me.” Rochelle blinked serveral times, “W-what?” He smiled, “I wanna hear you say that you like me.” He repeated himself, having no problem with it.

“I… like you.” Rochelle blushed. Danny grinned, quickly pulling her into a kiss.

She gasped, for a moment, giving into the kiss, but realizing that the two of them were in public, she shoved him away. Rochelle turned to glare at him, frowning, “W- w- we’re in public! It’s so embarrassing!” She turned away from him, folding her arms across her chest.

His face brightened, “I love that I’m able to make you blush!” He clasped his hands together as they slowly made their way up the steps to the library. He took her hand, drawing her in closer towards him. He bent down slightly, whispering into her hears, “Do you like me, like I like you?” Danny’s lips grazed against her ears just as they walked through the automatic doors.

The brunette glimpsed at Danny, her lips tight and small on top of that, her eyes narrowed slightly. She didn’t say much but after a moment of just cruel and intent staring at Danny, she smiled. “I told you I liked you, didn’t I?” She smiled, her eyes looking like something similar to a crescent moon, her green eyes lightened up.

The Californian watched as she skipped over towards one of the librarians behind the counter, asking them for a key. “Oh. Hi again, Rochelle. I didn’t see you come by yesterday.” The older woman smiled at the teenager as she rummaged through a box of keys, taking out one and handed it to Rochelle. “Yeah, I was a party.” The brunette took a pen from one of the pen holders and signed her name on the paper. “Really now? Did you have fun?” Rochelle smiled, nodding. “Of course I did… Well, I’ll be studying now. See you in two hours.” She waved to the librarian and made her way back towards Danny, dangling the key in front of his face.

“Oh. Do we get our own little room?” The blonde raised an eyebrow.

Making a ‘tsk’ sound, she slapped his shoulder gently, before she turned away from him, running up the stairs to the next floor of the library. Before she disappeared, she turned towards him, smiling widely.

The sixteen year old followed behind Rochelle quickly, taking two steps at a time, but he started late. He looked from side to side, then asking someone who had just walked by where the study room or whatever it was that needed keys were. Thanking them, he took a left, all the way down the halls of library and finding an end with rooms.

There were about seven rooms that were lined up next to each other, each of them took up about a size of a normal bedroom. There was a window upon each other the door and all of them happened to have all the shutters pulled down. “Damn it.” Danny cursed, frowning, not knowing which one she was in. It was pretty obvious that Rochelle was trying to hide from him, so it didn’t matter where he knocked; she wasn’t going to answer him.

Danny pouted to himself, folding his arms across his chest, not sure what he was going to do. He turned from side to side, and then a smile crept upon his lips. First, he had to find which room Rochelle was hiding it. He made his way downstairs, asking for a study room. The librarian took a key out of the container and had him sign the same thing Rochelle did. Glancing at which room she was in, he signed his name, and thanked the woman, making his way back up the stairs.

“One…” He smiled, room one was the room that he had, of course, he wasn’t going there. “Two…” Using the end of the key, it glided across the smooth surface of the redwood doors. “Three… Four…” He came to a stop. Danny turned his face staring at that square window right in front of him. “Who’s behind this door?” He grinned. She knew he knew she was there. “Open up.” He whispered in a sing song kind of voice. Honestly? His voice wasn’t that bad.

“Are you sure you want to make that choice?” He pressed his forehead up against the window, his eyes closed slowly. Danny licked his lips, his hands reaching for the knob, turning it towards the side once – locked. “I see how it is.”

In his mind, he pictured the image of Rochelle in his mind clearly; her lips parted slightly, her face flushed, and her bangs stuck to her face from the sweat glistening off her perfect face. The sixteen year old bit his lower lip, smiling to himself. His hands reached for his pants, slipping past the clothing and past his boxers, stroking himself gently. He pretended it to be her soft hands instead of his calloused ones. His cock grew harder as he continued to imagine Rochelle stroking his length. “Rochelle…” He whispered, his hot breath creating a tiny fog upon the glass window.

“You know…” He grinned, “You’re so beautiful… I just wanna eat you up.”

His eyes snapped open all of a sudden, feeling the doorknob turn and the door swung opened. “Oh my god.” She whispered, her brows knotting, “Danny!” She whined a little, yanking him into the room.

The Californian laughed to himself as he closed the door behind him, locking it. “Hey, if it was the only way for you to open the door…” He whispered, leaning in, his lips gently pressed up against hers. He wrapped his arm around Rochelle’s waist, pulling her close to him like he had once before. “You can’t hide from me.” He spoke between his kisses.

Rochelle’s breath quickened, her face flushed just as usual. “It was worth the try…” She whispered, pushing herself away from him. Her green eyes were darker than usual as she looked away from him and sat down in front of the computer. She was serious about studying and for a moment, Danny thought she claimed one of the rooms so the two of them could have fun. Well, they still could.

Danny pulled up a chair, angling it behind hers. He leaned in, wrapping her arms around her. “Why are you still so distant?”

“I told you I was coming to study.” She raised an eyebrow, glancing back at him.

“I didn’t think you were serious.”
“Well, I am being serious.”
“Miss Stiff.” He grinned, wrapping his arms tighter around him. Danny pulled himself closer towards her, kissing her lightly on the shoulders. Each time he did so, his kisses went higher and higher. He gave Rochelle goosebumps. “You need to… relax.”

Rochelle leaned back in her seat, her eyes trying to focus what she had looked up on the web. She sighed, feeling his soft lips. He stood up suddenly, pulling her seat out from under the table, pulling her away from the computer. She squeaked a little as if shrinking into her own little nutshell.

He laughed, raising an eyebrow. “I know you like my kisses, Rochelle.” Danny whispered into her ear, while nibbling on her earlobe. “I know you like them… just admit it. You want more.” He stared at her with his ocean blue eyes. “I want to feel your lips.” He parted his lips slightly, leaning into her. Their lips pressed against each other gently. While the two of them kissed, he pulled her up from the chair, wrapping his arms tightly around her waist.

Their lips parted slightly, pulling away from each other to take in a few breaths. Danny took a few steps forward, as she took a few steps back, pushing her against the wall of the room that she was previously in. The two of them were the perfect height; he only needed to lower his head slightly to kiss her.

She could feel Danny’s hand running up and down her sides. They weren’t pressed up against her body; it was more like his fingers strumming down along her sides, barely touching the girl. It was like popping X; it was so wonderful, you just wouldn’t want to stop all that bliss. She didn’t want Danny to stop touching her like that.

Rochelle pulled away from him. She had to breathe. The both of them had to. Danny took her hands, his lips pressing gently against her skin, kissing each finger tips. Rochelle lowered her hand, looking at her boyfriend through thick eyelashes, their lips locked once more. Danny leaned into her, pushing Rochelle up against the wall. He towered over her, his hands cupping her face lightly. His bit her lip lightly, sucking gently on her bottom lip. He kissed Rochelle’s chin next, then her neck. He gave her tiny pecks, kissing her here and there.

The girl scooted in closer towards him, her arms linking under his, her palms resting on his shoulders. Rochelle rested her head upon the crook of his neck while Danny kissed the top of her head. “Hey.” Rochelle whispered, “You want to go to my choir concert?” She wrapped her arms tighter around his shoulders, her soft hands stroking his tanned skin. “I’m going to sing solo.”

Danny sighed, pulling himself away from her, planting a soft kiss on her lips. “I’d love to. Do I need to let you study?” He tilted his head towards the side as he adjusted his clothes.

“Nah, that’s fine.” Rochelle smirked slightly, folding her arms across her chest as he watched him make his way towards the door. “I understand.” He winked at her, opening the door open, “I’m going to go get some books to read.” She nodded, watching him leave the room.

Danny looked from side to side, not sure where to look first. Ambling around, looking for the graphic novel section, the blonde scratched the back of his head, not sure where to look first. “Excuse me, miss.” He tapped a young blonde haired woman, like himself, on the shoulders. “I was wondering if you know where the comic book section is?”

The flaxen girl turned around with a raised eyebrow, “I don’t know I –“ She stopped, her mouth hanging open, of course, shocked, “Oh my god!” She screamed out, forgetting that she was in a library. “You’re… You’re… Danny Pryce from, from Celestia—” She was cut off when Danny covered up the girl’s mouth, shushing her.

“Quiet you.” He glared at her, before his lips curved into a smile, “So you know about me, huh? We’re not all that big yet.”

“This girl has connections.” She winked as him; her hand touched his arm gently.

“Apparently.” Danny scratched his head once more, smiling widely, “How do you like us?”

The blonde girl, raised an eyebrow, “If I didn’t like you guys, I wouldn’t be here, all over you, would I?” The girl ran a hand over his chest, licking her lips a little. “My name’s Joanna. I think it’s fair that since I know your name, you should know mine.”

Danny smirked a little, his hands wrapping around her wrist as she tried to touch his lips, “That’s a pretty name, but I’m sorry. I’m taken.” He pulled away from her grasp, “Do you know where the comic book section is?” He asked once more, looking around, trying to see if there was anyone reading graphic novels.

He sighed, giving the girl a sympathetic smile before he made his way off still looking for the comic section.

After finding the books he wanted, Danny quickly made his way back to Rochelle. He knocked on it a couples times, before Rochelle opened the door with a bizarre expression as he slipped through. He grinned, putting down the stack of books on the table. “Hey, hun, you realize that our time here is almost up right?” Rochelle’s brow furrowed as she watched Danny sit down in her seat and began reading.

“Aw! Are you serious? How much time do we have?”
“About twenty minutes?”
The blonde pouted, “That was useless then…”
“I have a library card…”
“Really?” His eyes brightened up as he clasped his hands together, jumping for joy. Rochelle laughed, nodding.

“Yeah, c’mon, bring it with you. Can you carry all of that? Let me get one.” She went over to the stack, taking one book away from him. Danny glared, pouting for a moment.

“Thanks for helping.”

“No problem.” Smiling, the girl opened the door for him, and then took some away from him, “You’re going to have to bring it back though.” The two of them made their way towards the checkout. Placing the books on the table, Rochelle took out the library card, sliding it through the card slot, and began sliding the barcodes through the red censors. It beeped ten times before the books were placed in a clothed bag that the library gave specially to her each time.

Rochelle smiled, handing the bag to Danny. “You have to finish these in two weeks, then it’ll be overdue, and it’s gonna be your fault. Don't’ expect me to pay for you.” She poked his cheek, having to stand on her toes to do so, too.

He inflated his cheeks, then playfully bit her fingers. The blonde grinned, then took her hand, linking it with hers. Danny smiled calmly at her, his fingers brushing against hers.

Danny wrapped on arm around her, the other one carrying the bag of comic books, and the two of them walked across the street onto the other side.

Danny left Rochelle’s house once they reached there, promising her that he’d pick her up by seven. She couldn’t wait, and when his car disappeared around the corner, she raced into the master bedroom, looking through her mother’s clothes. Of course, being the bookworm type person that Rochelle was, she wouldn’t have any pretty clothes. Her mother had some from ‘back in the days’.

What time is it? She glanced over at the clock, seeing that it was only three in the afternoon; Rochelle frowned a little, she had four hours, what was the use of fussing around and getting all excited? She had time. So, with that, Rochelle stepped out of the closet, and made her way to her room, studying.

That’s right. This is how it should be. She flipped open the first textbook she grabbed, and became engulf into her reading. Time passed slowly minute by minute. Occasionally, Rochelle would glance over at the analog clock that she had, not going by much. Forcing herself to study, she stared at the book, frowning.

At one point, Rochelle got deeply into the studying then with the sound of the alarm beeping snapped her back to life. She looked around, glancing back at the clock for a moment, then stood up and made her way calmly down the stairs. One more hour until he came.

Rochelle sighed, running a hand through her hair. The girl looked through the closet in her mom’s room, her eyes scanning through everything her mother had. “Lesse…” She muttered under her breath, brushing her hand up and down her arm, then took out a tank top and black jeans.

Her and her mother were about the same height and same weight. She smiled as she slipped on the clothes, and putting on a small jacket on top of that. She liked the clothes that her mother had, they were really up to date with what the teenagers were wore nowadays, and her mother was after all, only thirty-one years old.

“Hey mom?” Rochelle called up her mother, and spoke up once her mother’s voice was sounded through the speakers, “I’m going to going out with Danny, to uh… well, he asked me onto a date.” She felt her cheeks redden as her mom cooed through the phone. “Yeah. Alright. I’ll call you when the date’s over.” She hung up afterwards, and made her way towards the kitchen, getting a quick drink.

The doorbell sounded just as she dropped the mug into the sink. “Crap.” She ran the cup in the water for a moment before she quickly walked over towards the door, smiling at the boy that stood on the other side. “Hey there.” She whispered, closing the door behind her, slipping on the shoes. “How are you?” She glanced over at Danny and locked the door behind her.

“I’m alright.” He grinned, wrapping his arms around her waist as the couple made their way towards his car.
