Zemnas: Hero or not?!

Zemnas liked the idea that he could spend some time with his father but when he heard that his father wanted to bring his mother, he didn't want to go with them. His mother had been that angry, abusing mother this morning and he had a bruise on his arm to prove it but he couldn't tell his father that so he decided that he would go with them anyway.

"Oh, what a good idea Frederick. We could go on a picnic. Could you go and get that picnic blanket that we used to have? It should be in the attic. Zemnas and I will get the foos ready, right Zemnas?"

Zemnas thought that it couldn't get any worse do he nodded his head and said "Go on father we will do the food and have it ready when you are back. What would you like to eat and drink, father?"

"I would like a steak and something stronger to drink. I hope that it won't be a problem with that request?"

"No that won't be a problem father. Now go, the sooner go go the sooner we can go."

Zemnas smiled at his father adn his father smiled back and then went to get the picnic blanket. When Frederick was out of the room Lilith grabbed Zemnas' arm and said

"Now boy you will not get into trouble because if you do I will make sure that you will get the punishment you desirve. Now you will get the things your father wanted and the same things for me. But for yourself you will only get a light salad with a smal amout of meat in it and to drink you will only drink water. And if your father asks you why you eat so little, just say that you're not hungry and thought that you would at least eat something with your family just to spend some time with your father and me. Understood?"

"I understand mother and i won't dissapoint you. May I get the food and the drinks now?"

"You may and hurry, you don't have much time in geting it before your father gets back."

Zemnas nodded and hurried to get the food and when he got back he saw in his mothers face that she was disapointed with him and he knew that he had a punishment to take when they got home.

"Now when you're here we can get going and go before it is too dark to have that picnic."

"Yes mother lets go. I know of a place not far from here that is nice and not many people know about it. I'll show you where it is."

And Zemnas led the way through the town and toward the big forest.

"Are you insane? We can't go in there, it's dark and creapy and they say that there is dangerous things there."

"But we are not going into the forest, we are going to have our picnic right here. Isn't it peaceful and nice here?"

Zemnas looked at his mother and father and saw that they really didn't see what he saw. He looked down at the ground adn didn't really feel that good about himself and all he wanted was to go home and lock himself in his room and stay there.

"Zemnas what's wrong? Are you feeling ill?"

His father looked at him with worry in his eyes. Zemnas looked from his father to his mother and then said

"I don't care anymore about this picnic, I'm not feeling too well and I'm going home."

Then he ran back to their house and locked himself in his room and cried. His father was begining to worry for his son, he had seen the bruises and the broken bones. He knew that Zemnas didn't break his bones that easy adn that something wasn't right.

"Lilith, do you know what's wrong with our son? You spend all day home and must see him during the day, right? Has he told you something at all?"

Lilith looked at her husband and thought *what if he knows what I've done? But he hasn't told me or anyone else, so he cna't know or can he?*

"No he hasn't told me anything at all, but he spends much of his time with that boy Nathaniel. He might know something."
