Jessica stood in the shower letting the water course its way over her body, savouring the feeling of the heat form the water, burning its way under her skin
Her gaze fell to the deep long red cuts on her forearm and sighed.
She shut the water off and pulled her towel off the rack beside the shower stall.
She stopped moving hearing a noise in the kitchen. Fuck why didn't I lock the damn door.” who is out there."
"Sorry I knew you were in the shower and I let myself in."
A frown kept its way onto Jessica’s face, recognizing the voice on the other side of the door
"Oh um yah that is fine kyrah, I will be right out." she said leaning on the bathroom door with her hand on her forehead.
"Okay I'll wait out here for you." she said sitting at the kitchen table.
She could tell there was something wrong with kyrah by the shakiness in her voice.
Jessica papered in the bathroom door way wearing a stunning green tank top and a pair of faded baggy jeans with her make up all down and her hair straitened.
She crouched down next to kyrah who still sat at the kitchen table.
"Hunny what's wrong why are you crying?" she stood up as kyrah did
kyrah's hand came across her face making her hand cradle her cheek in a effort to stop the pain and in shock.
" you lied to me but you know what you can have her I don't give a fuck anymore just don't come back to me." she turned on heel to leave only to have Jessica grip her arm firmly and turn her back around
"hold on a second it is nothing like that." she began to explain
"oh really so you're not on your way over there right now to be with her?"
"Jim and Cindy invited me there for supper that is all."
"whatever I don't believe you, and even if I did I know you if the opportunity presented itself you would sleep with her and not even think about the consequences...and you know it don't you?"
kyrah looked at Jessica in a disgusted manner.
Jessica stood silent eyes locked on kyrah's " if you don't believe me then fine." Jessica said walking over to her closet to retrieve her black hood and jean jacket to go over the hoddie kyrah walked to the door and opened it she turned her head to Jessica as she stepped through the door way "it's her or me your decision. if you decide to pick me you better e here when I get off work at one."
"I will be."
Jessica kicked a ball in front of her as she walked across her living room floor out of frustration, breaking a glass picture frame In doing so.
she was still in a bad mood twenty minutes later after writing some of her anger and frustration out on her lap top. she re read the last two lines she had wrote aloud.
"the shiny silver blade slides across my flesh leaving bleeding trails in it's wake, people get frustrated with me when I don't stop this self mutilation, but what they don't understand is that as the blade theares flesh and the deep red comes through. it makes me feel as if I belong to this earth I am not just a wondering soul left to the darkness and it makes me feel as though I could be loved if I can feel the pain I will be able to feel the warmth of a woman in my arms." she leaned back in her chair and sighed what a pathetic loser I am she thought bitterly. after deciding she would go to Amy’s then she wrote a note to her mother that wouldn't even get it until the next morning cause she would be working the graveyard shift she grabbed her bag with her laptop in it and then made sure everything was off before leaving and locking the door.
it was a short walk to Amy’s house. she rang the doorbell when she arrived, Amy opened the door wearing a pair of tight blue jeans and a tank top that read soccer star
she smiled seeing Jessica standing there hands in her pockets " hi come in, my parents had to go look after my grandmother's dogs for the night it was sort of last minute and they just told me about ten minutes ago as they were on there way out the door.” Amy lead her to the living room. which was beautiful, as the rest of the house from what Jessica had seen was. the whole thing was a palace compared to Jessica’s three room apartment that her and her mother shared
"yah I bet you knew all along. well looks like we have the house to ourselves then." Jessica grinned as Amy came over and helped take her jean jacket off kissing her the whole time while doing so
"yes we do and what do you suggest we d first mom left money for pizza and we have a ton of DVD’s." she wore a seductive smirk " we can watch them in my room what do you say we call the pizza then start a movie."
Jessica knew she had other intentions, but she didn't want Amy to rush into things even if she wanted her that bad she was going to make sure Amy knew what she wanted before doing any thing to extreme.
and she knew it would be best not to, she herself had once been there. With the first girl she had truly fallen in love with and things ended up really bad.
"so they're going to be gone all night, won't you get bored here by your self?" Jessica asked hoping that Amy didn't want her to spend the night. kyrah would be flipping if she found out she had stayed the night with Amy.
Amy looked back over her soulder. "well I do but I won't tonight because you're going to be here with me all night with me."
"and who said I wanted to spend the night with you.” she said with a smile, she knew that would get her going.
"you don't want to?'' she wore a hurt yet question look one that face that Jessica found so alluring.
"you know I want to stay with you al night but my shift at work starts at twelve tonight and I can't miss another day at the clinic or my boss is going to hang me." Jessica lied she knew kyrah was going to be there at one when her shift got over at the dinner, and she needed to be there to talk things over with kyrah.
Amy thought for a moment.” then can you stay here until eleven and then go home and get ready for work.?" her eyes were pleading
"I guess I could do that if you want me to." she kissed Amy softly. " but that is only because you are so fucking cute."
"why thank you.” Amy grinned as Jessica’s cell phone rang
she looked at the number. shit kalee what do you want. "um it is work why don't you go order that pizza and I'll get this out side okay."
"sure"
Jessica went out on the back deck.” hello"
"yah what's up?"
she listened for a minute
"yah I will be there at eleven but why do you need to talk to me."
she nodded her head as kalee talked away on the other end.
"um sure we can talk about that but I thought we were over that already"
"you're not eh well I’ll see you later then."
Amy came through the door as soon as she hang up the phone she had her cell in her hand
"what do you like on your pizza?"
"um any thing what ever you want." a forced smile came to her face
"okay....is everything okay at work you seem upset.?"
"oh ugh yah it is just one of the animals that has been there for awhile died a few hors ago and he was going to me mine once he got better but he didn't...but I am fine." she knew this was no way to start a relationship with lies but what else was she supposed to do. besides it wasn't a complete lie one of the animals that she was going to get did die that day, she had got the call that morning.
Amy looked at her questonably. "you sure you'll be alright?"
"as long as I have you by my side I will always be okay."
"glad I could help" she said as they went inside the house” you go pick out a movie and put it in and I will order the pizza. they are all onto of the DVD player."
"okay Jessica walked the ten feet to Amy’s room it was the first right in the hallway that led off the living room form the front door.
she walked in noticing a bunch of teddy bears on one shelf and a few posters of all the guys the teen girls thought were "hot"
she also had a few posters Jessica wouldn't have suspected she would have a few days ago. one of a gay soccer player in the demon’s league foe Canada and a poster of Alex parks an up and coming lesbian singer.
there was a hole in the wall about the size of a fist beside the poster of David beckham on the far wall next to the computer stand
her queen size bed was against the far wall and her computer a few feet away on a desk I the corner.
Her T.V and DVD player was on the opposite wall across from her bed. other then that it was just a few decorations a dresser and a closet on the wall next to the door.
she shuffled through a few of the DVD’s and one caught her attention that she wanted to see, "boy's don't cry." it was about a young girl that presented herself as a man to anyone she met
and in the end it got her killed because some guys got upset because she was a girl and she got a girl on of them had dated and wanted back.
Amy walked in wit the phone on her ear and gave a thumbs up to the movie in Jessica’s hand
Jessica put the movie in and sat on the bed where Amy sat in front of her and leaned on her lap.
"okay fifteen minutes that is grate I’ll see you then." she hung up the phone and placed it on the red wood stand next to her bed.” the pizza will be here in a few minutes."
"good, Amy I was thinking on the way up here are.....are you still with Cody?" Jessica didn't make eye contact just played attention to the advertisements on the T.V
"actually no I am not I broke up with him before you got here he came over and I told him I wasn't interested in him anymore."
Jessica had surprise written all over her face.” really and how did he react to all of this?"
"well at first I said I want to end our relation ship, he thought I was kidding then I backed up against the wall over there by the computer when her tried to hug me and then I said Cody things just aren't working between us and I want to end things for good and I told him I wanted him to leave. he yelled for two seconds then got pretty close to me."
Jessica interrupted her "if he hit you."
"Calm down there feisty one he didn't do any damage to me just my wall see the hole"
"yah I actually noticed that when I came in." Jessica wrapped her arms around Amy’s wait as she laid her head against her chest.
they watched movies until nine o’clock and then they went for a walk Jessica put up her hood up and since she hade a pair of baggy pair of guy jeans on she looked much like a guy and that let them walk down the street holding hands.
Amy stared at the ground as they walked, when could be the best time to bring the subject of her cuts up, she thought looking up at the black haired woman holding her hand. Not now she thought I'll bring it up in a few days once we have had time to work through what we tell people when they ask why we are hanging out all the time.
"so what are we going to tell people, if we do at all I know that if Cody finds out I left him for you he would not think twice about hitting you and I don't want that.” Jessica smiled
"well that is not something I want either but if he dose I hope he knows that I can beat him."
" cocky aren’t you?" they stopped as they came to an intersection and let a car go by.
"well I have reason to be I have been training with two professional wrestlers and a weight trainer.."
"no wonder you are so ruthless on the soccer field." Amy said tightening her grip in Jessica’s hand.” I am so happy to be with you right now."
"and as I am to be with you I mean you don't know how long I have wanted to be with you and to tell the truth I always thought you were a straight stuck up, but then I got to know you in soccer and that's when I really started to fall for you."
"goes to show you can't judge a book by it's cover,” they walked in silence for a few minutes just thinking to them selves
"you really thought I was stuck up?"
"yes I did but I’ll be the first to admit I was wrong in thinking so.” Jessica said as they crossed the road at the end of present street they turned the corner to head to the store when they nearly ran into two of Jessica’s old friends.
"lets go jay she isn’t even worth talking to." Ryan said grabbing Jacob by the sleeve
"oh and I suppose Arielle is then.” Jessica said stopping he pissed her off to no end and she liked to tear a strip him every time she got a chance.
"actually yah she is, she lets me live my life and doesn’t cheat on me with other women." Ryan shot back red, showing in his face
"don't be so sure of yourself she was with me two weeks ago so you better get to know her a bit more you fucking asshole. come on my lets go." she said taking Amy’s hand as they walked they had already seen them holding hands once so why try to hide it from them still.
"dude she is with Amy Reid how the hell can she get her and not me,?"
"because jay she has that thing about her that makes her desirable believe me I have been there a time or two" Ryan said watching her walk away.” that is why I am so mean around her cause I am actually still very much in love with her"
"you had better get over her some damn quick then cause if you don't she will reel you back in."
"Jacob open up your fucking eyes man look who she is with right now she won't even chance that she has loved that girl forever." Ryan said throwing his hands up in the air


Jessica and Amy kept walking not even bothering to look back at them
"they won't say anything to people at school about me and you?" she tightened her grip on Jessica’s hand a bit as she steeped over a puddle
"no they probably will but who is going o believe you would be with me?” Jessica said with a kid like smile
"I sure hope not, one question though why are they so mean to you well the Jacob wasn’t but the short one was."
"the short one was a guy I went out with awhile back he was so sweet when we were going out but now he is acting as if he as always
hated me and always will maybe I'll give you the total story some other time when I have the time." their eyes met as Jessica lifted her gaze from the ground.
"I don't get it I thought you were gay why do you go out with guys?"
"Ryan was the only guy I have been with in the past three years."
"oh did you like him allot.?" Amy asked in a tone that gave off the impression that she didn't really want to hear the answer.
"I was in love with him for the year I was with him but from the first two weeks I was with him I lost almost all trust in him but I am over that now I actually got over it quicker then I expected I would have but that is only because I had you to think about."
Jessica may have had a few bad relationships but se had a way with words that had always fixed thing to the way she wanted and sometimes she used her way with words to get people to break up with her then feel bad for doing it but she was always considered of people she cared about' feeling.
"well think that is good for me" Amy smiled that smile that made Jessica want to melt like putty in her hands.
"that is very good for you" the store approached them fast
"that didn't take all that long to walk down here now did it."
they walked across the road and entered the store
"what did you have to get other then snacks?" Amy asked
"um I had to get some smokes."
"but you cant, you're not old enough."
"I can when she is working." she pointed to a small woman behind the counter smiling at them
"she can lose her job over that."
"yes but no one will find out cause I always make sure that no one else is in the store at the time."
"okay, you should quit you know."
"yes I know but I don't really have a reason to at the moment."
"I am a reason and i am not forcing you to but I would like it if you would try."
Jessica didn't make eye contact with her cause she had one of her old girlfriends try to get her to quit and lost her because she didn't quit
she had tried so many times on her own to quit but it was a task, that to her, seemed to be one that it would never get accomplished
"does dad know or miss barrieau?" she said putting her hands on her hip
"don't do that you look like my mom and no they don't know and I would like it if they didn't know either."
"don't worry I am not going to tell them."
"that is a good thing then, so you really want me to quit?" Jessica asked as they walked down the DVD isle
Amy brought her eyes up to meet jessica's. "yes I do, but it doesn't matter if you don't because I don't want to be controlling."
"ugh I love you she said under her breath "you're nice, very sexy, and you tell it like it is you're not controlling, which I love by the way I had one girl try to run my whole life for me and lets just say that I got rid of her really quick and she tried to get me back for like two years." Jessica said remember how tied down she felt when she broke up with Trisha a few years back she never wanted to but Trish was driven her up the wall and she ended up cheating on her with kyrah.
“so you and Trisha eh I didn’t think she was gay though.”
Jessica’s eyes narrowed “I didn’t say it was Trisha” Jessica said as they walked over to the counter.
“well I know about the whole thing she told me everything but only me no one else.”
Amy said as a grin played at the corners of her lips
"grate I was sure she hadn't told anyone but oh well at least I know you are not going to go and make my life a living hell if we break up." Jessica said
They were walking down the street back to Amy’s house when Jessica opened her pack of smokes and lit one of them up.
“my god they stink” Amy said holding her hand over her nose
“I know they do and I will quit for you because for one I need to because of soccer and for two I love you and want to make you happy.” Jessica said swinging her arm over Amy’s slender shoulders
“you know just because I want to doesn’t mean you have to.”
“that is the reason I want to do it for you is because you don’t want to make me and that is a good thing that you are not going to force me to like other people have in the past.” Jessica explained
Amy shrugged Jessica’s arm off her shoulder when she saw a van pull up to the corner a few yards away.” there’s Cassie.” She pointed to the van and waved as cassia drove by with her dad, which was the principal of the middle school.
"she didn’t see anything did she?" Jessica asked looking back at the van as it drove away around another corner. she took a drag off her smoke as she looked back at the women that held her heart captive
"no she was talking to her father."
"we should get back and get that other movie watched before I have to go home to get ready for work."
