Humans and Demons
I sat, watching my father wield the sword as if it was nothing, "But Daddy I'm not strong enough!" I complained as he signaled that it was my turn.
"I don't care! You'll learn how to wield this sword!" he yelled, his deep voice ringing in my chest.
"Kyto, he's only six, relax. Come on think about it, you didn't grow up like this. Your mother hid you in the human world." I heard my mother call from the doorway to the back yard. She always seemed to save me when I needed it, she was different like that. She was always the more brighter side of Etyr, like an angel. I don't think she was an angel though, she was just nice and caring. Father listened to her well, instantly calming down.
"Ok, just see if he can lift it ok?" he said calmly. He snapped his fingers and the sky instantly went dark, a full moon seemed to hang above me, I felt funny.
My head ached as I grasped the sword, I wasn't reaching for it but that's what ended up in my hand. I felt a surge through my arm, I looked at the sword as my head cleared. The blade was no longer black, it was a deep red and vibrant orange letters read: K U S H I D O. Everything seemed to be slowing down, and then suddenly there was a rush and I dropped the sword. There was a crushing feeling in my head, again. I closed my eyes and fell to the ground.
I felt the rays of the sun, they stung my back. I jumped up and ran to my mother, she had her back to me.
"Mommy, mommy." I cried, "What did I do?" I asked burying my face into her skirt, but there was no answer nor even the slightest notion of attempting to answer the question. I wiped tears from my face looking up at the back of her head, her hair almost reaching my face. She began to fall on me, I pushed back to stand her up.
"See what you did, you killed her." I heard my father say, I let her fall and swiftly turned around to see him licking his hand as it was covered in blood, I began to cry for I knew what I was going to see next yet I looked anyways. She was covered in blood and an enormous hole covered her stomach. I cried for a moment as I buried my face in her blood, he patted me on my head.
I stopped crying and looked up at him, my eyes were burning. The smile that resided upon his face mocked me, I shoved his hand off of my head. I went to scream but it never came out, it as if I was silenced. It was like I watched myself do it.
I opened my palm and looked down at the hilt of the sword that stared back. I dug the blade of the sword deep into my fathers stomach until it protruded from the other side of his body. I pulled the sword out and fell beneath his body. As I closed my eyes the last thing I remembered was his bloody smile.
