Mystery Man
Recap;;
All she could was that Leo would be here soon and he’d make things better like he always did…
Continuing on.
Alek wasn’t aware of when the door to her bedroom opened and closed softly, or when the curtains to her bed were opened. All she knew at the moment were the arms that were wrapped around her shoulders, soft lips muttering reassuring words in her ear until the person was sure she wasn’t as scared as she was when he first arrived. At least now her breathing was even instead of the choppy and erratic pants they had been.
The blonde headed male slipped away from her, crawling around her on the bed to be sitting directly in front of her, his legs crossed as well.
“Now… Allie… tell me what has you so shaken up.” He near demanded, not quite meaning to be so harsh. He wasn’t about to let her beat around the bush. His sapphire blue eyes seemed to burn a hole into her head, for he was staring so hard.
“IwasinthekitchenandthedoorbellrangandIwenttoansweritanditwasthemailmanwithapackagesoIsignedandtookitandopenedthebox. Insidewasalettersayingsomethingaboutthepersonowningme, andIthrewitagainstthewall, thenIgrabbedtheboxinsideandopeneditandtherewasaprettynecklace. SoIputitonanditstartedtoburnanditleftthis!” She said all it one breath, feeling reading to pass out from the lack of air in that entire explanation. Grabbing the medallion, she moved it aside to show off the black… marking on her chest. Leo’s eyes widened at the mark, even though he didn’t understand over half of the hurried explanation.
“Repeat that, Allie…” He muttered, eyes still glued to the mark. At least this time he wouldn’t be accused for staring at her chest.
“I was in the kitchen and the doorbell rang and I went to answer it and it was the mail man with a package so I signed and took it and opened the box. Inside was a letter saying something about the person owning me, and I threw it against the wall, then I grabbed the box inside and opened it and there was a pretty necklace. So, I put it on and it started to burn and it left this!” She repeated, this time not as rushed as before. Alek felt tears prickle in the corners of her eyes, and she rushed to rub in away before any fell. She didn’t cry, and she wasn’t about to start niw.
“Owning you? Try to remember what it said…” Leo urged, looking rather thoughtfully at the mark still. Or, she hoped it was the mark.
“Something along the lines of, ‘Five moons until I can finally get you. You won’t get away this time. Chained, bound, and kept. Forever mine..’ Or something like that. I only read it once, and when I went back to read it, it had burned.” She explained, looking extremely distraught over the whole ordeal.
“Sounds like a stalker to me…” He stated, finally looking up into her grey-blue eyes, rather concerned.
“LEO! You’re not helping!” She whined, smacking him on the leg. At least he managed to cut some of the tension from the air and made Alek giggle. That was a good sound as far as he was concerned.
“Well, now that I know Allie’s in there somewhere, we’re fine. I say you should just keep all the windows and doors locked. I have a key so it’s not a problem for me getting it, and don’t answer the door for anyone you don’t know. That’s really all you can do. If you call the police they’ll think you’re insane because the only proof you have now is the medallion and the marking of it, and they’ll just think you’re looking for attention, being alone and all.” Leo stated simply. That’s what she loved about him so much, he was always honest and straight-forward, never quite beating around the bush with her. He gave good advice and kept her out of trouble. He was truly a best friend that she would keep forever.
“That’s it…?” She questioned, apprehensive at the plan.
“That’s all you can do.” He repeated, as if it was the most simple thing in the world.
“Oh…kay, I guess. Stay with me for awhile?” She requested, looking up at him almost pleadingly. It was almost pathetic to see her in such a state, but also cute in a way. Finally he got to take up the place of a best friend, comforting her.
“Yeah, but around four I have karate.” Oh, that’s right. He was a martial arts addict, and wouldn’t miss a class for the world. She remembered when Leo broke his leg. He still hobbled his way to class, even though he couldn’t do much of anything and was drugged on pain killers. Now that was funny.
“I know, I know. You always ditch me around four.” Alek knew it was a sudden change to go from terrified to calm and relaxed, but Leo always made her feel better, even when he wasn’t aware of it.
She carefully made her way off the bed, causing Leo to watch where she was going in confusion. Cautiously did she stand, still not trusting her still shaky limbs. You’d be scared too if something marked your skin and wouldn’t come off. It just wasn’t natural.
“Where ya going, Allie?” He inquired, getting a strange look in return.
“Entertainment Room… Don’t think I’m just going to sit on the bed and let you stare at my chest. I feel like kicking your ass in some billiards or something.” She scoffed, rolling her eyes at him as she walked from the room.
“Why can’t you just be a normal person and call it pool?” He cried, scrambling off the bed to follow her.
“’Cause pool sounds funny. Makes me think we’re going to take a dip.” She shrugged, not even sparing a glance back at her friend.
“Snob.” Leo stated, sticking his tongue out at her back.
“Nuh uh! I’m just… financially gifted.” Alek giggled, grinning back at him before she started down her staircase. This time she was glad it wasn’t in a frenzied panick.
“No, you’re parents are financially gifted, you just mooch off them.” He laughed, getting a snort from his friend.
“And when they die, all that money will be mine.” She retorted back.
“Marry me, Allie?” Leo joked, wiggling his eyebrows at her as she reached the bottom of the stairs and went to stare at him oddly. She shook her head and walked away, on her way to her original destination.
“You wish.” Alek stated, a smirk obvious in her voice. At that, she disappeared through the grand back doors with the dice on them. It was obviously the games room, her destination.
She headed straight for the billiards table, beginning to dig the balls from the pockets and rolling them towards the middle to set the game up. “Grab a stick, Leo, you know you want to.” She teased, looking up at him with a grin.
“Oh shut up. That was one time, and I was drunk, damnit!” He cried, his face heating up quickly.
“You still did it, babe. Can’t deny it.” Alek shrugged, beginning to order the balls from 1-12, 12 being at the top of the triangle. Once she was finish, she gave them a little shake before moving them into place. “Who goes first?” She questioned, grabbing the white ball and setting it at the other side of the table, aimed for the point.
“Don’t even get me started on drunken actions. You’ve done far worse…” He nearly growled, looking up at his friend, noticing her eyes grow wide. Leo grinned wickedly, knowing he had her there. He heard a mumbled, ‘Shut up.’ from her side of the table. “You can go first, you’ll need it.” He teased.
Alek grabbed her stick, giving Leo a challenging glare before leaning down and aligning her stick with the ball. After a moment of staring, she struck the ball, shooting it into the twelve others and causing them to scatter on the table, a few balls dropping it.
“Looks like I’m stripes.” She stated simply, looking into the hole that she saw the first ball drop into.
“And I’m solids.” He stated, pointing out the obvious and gaining a strange look from Alek.
“No shit, sher—“ She stopped in mid-sentence, gasping out and grabbing at the medallion at her chest. She looked as if she was choking, or unable to breath, making expressions like a fish. Eyes grew wide and she dropped to her knees, making pained whimpers as she still grasped out for air that didn’t seem as if it was there.
It felt as if some sort of force was squeezing her chest, like a hand was squeezing her lungs and not letting them inflate once more. The rest of her body felt as if it was on fire, and she could feel the flames licking at her skin teasingly, and her head felt as if it would explode. She’d never felt anything like it, and it was freaking her out. The pain was indescribable.
Alek wasn’t even aware when Leo rushed to her side, shaking her. He didn’t know what was wrong, all he knew was that it wasn’t a good feeling and she was in some sort of pain that he could never imagine.
He was at a loss, knowing with whatever was going on, no doctor could fix.
He panicked.
Her vision went dark, and it felt as if she had blacked out, when in reality the pain in her body vanished, but her expression became blank. She was in some other world now. The black went away, allowing her to see a face. Though she couldn’t make it out, for it was too blurry. He seemed to be smiling wickedly though, hooded in shadow.
“Alekandra…” His voice was deep, and made her weak at the knees. Thank god she was already on the floor.
“Alekandra… You are mine.” There was no arguing with that tone of voice, and she knew it. But as she opened her mouth to retort, a pain struck through her body again, this time just a little less worse than before. Her body tensed again, and she gasped out for air, unable to get it though. “Don’t speak unless asked a question, it’s rude.” He snapped, his voice low and angry.
The pain stopped, vanishing just as quickly as it came, and she breathed in relief.
“Five moons, Alekandra… Five moons and you’ll be forever mine.” He whispered, then disappeared. Once more did the real world appear, and she locked gazes with Leo, fear clear in her eyes.
Again she opened her mouth to speak, yet nothing came out.
“Allie? Are you okay?” Leo questioned, concern easily detected in his voice. “Speak to me, Allie, I need to know if you’re okay..” He urged, pulling her close to him. She just crumpled into his pull, falling limply against his body.
Only two words passed through her lips,;
“Forever Mine.”
And then everything went black.
