Email Meeting

Chapter 2

Alex had finally arrived at his lovely home which was opposite the beach. The view from his patio which was above the ground looking over the beach was spectacular especially when the sun would go down. He would just sit outside with a glass of wine and watch the sunset until all the beautiful colors would disappear beyond the deep blue sea. Unfortunately for tonight Alex had missed it since he had a staff meeting which went until 5:45pm and he got home at 6:30pm.

Alex unlocked the front door and walked inside placing his jacket on the rack and putting down his briefcase. The first thing that came to his mind was to have a nice warm shower and change into something more comfortable.

Once he had finished having a shower he was only half dressed with just his track pants when the phone started ringing. Alex stopped what he was doing and ran down stairs hoping it wont stop ringing. “Hello ‘……’ oh hi Madison ‘……’ what ‘……’ Sunday no I’m not doing anything ‘……’ it’s John’s birthday and you want me to come ‘……’ um I just remembered I am doing something that day so tell him I said happy birthday well I gotta go have a lot of work to catch up on so seeya and thanks for calling” and Alex hung up on his sister.

“Alex, Alex oh no what am I going to tell mum now” Madison hung up to. She had tried many times to get Alex to come to their step-dad’s birthday or even to visit him and their mum but she could never get him to come. Madison always knew that her brother had never accepted John as part of the family. No matter how many times John had told Alex that he would never try replace his real father Alex would just walk away. He had been like that since the day they had met John. The day when their mum told them that John had asked her to marry him Alex went of the roof. Madison would never forget the day when her brother got really angry and was shouting and yelling at their mum. The next thing Alex then ran away from home. Both Madison and her mum rang the police to help search for him.

It had been three days until they found him at the cemetery near his father’s grave. Madison was so happy that Alex decided to come back home with them especially their mum who was in tears knowing her son was safe. “Will you ever come to terms with John being part of this family Alex” Madison said to herself.

Alex looked at the phone “sorry sis” and headed back up stairs to finish getting changed. About an hour later once Alex had his dinner he went over to his computer to do some work. He was passing the jacket rack to go to his study when he saw a piece of paper hanging out of his jacket pocket. Alex grabbed it and noticed that it had the email address which he had written down back in his office at school.

Alex sat down at his desk and turned the computer on “I guess I should send who ever it is an email before I do anything else” he said to himself.

Meanwhile back at the college Jared was still up doing some work when he heard a ding on his computer. “Mail huh maybe Matt had received it early” Jared opened it up and read it.

Dear Sender,

I am writing to you to inform that you have sent your email message to the wrong address by accident. I must apologize but I had read your message before realizing that it was not for me.

My name is Alex McKay I am the principle of the school ‘Roxana Local’ near Baramar. I can send the email back to you if you like since I already have your email address. Please write back if you would like me to do that.

“So I sent some chick my message” Jared said to himself actually thinking that this Alex person was a woman and not a man. Since Alex could either be Alexander or Alexandra but to Jared he thought it was a woman called Alexandra but Alex for short. “Well I didn’t save the message so I might as well right back to her”.

Alex waited for a bit to see if the sender would write back and ‘ding’ yes he got a reply.

To Alex,

Sorry for sending it to your email address I better check twice before sending my messages. I feel like a complete dickhead for sending it to some complete stranger, that email was suppose to go to my brother in London so it would be great if you could send it back since I didn’t save it on my computer.

“Alright then” so Alex brought up the message and sent it to Jared’s email address.

Back in the dorms Jared was waiting until it popped up “thank goodness I have it back” and he read the small message Alex had sent along with it.

Well I hope you received it and I am sure your brother will be pleased to hear how you have been going. It’s strange how I’m talking to you like this since I don’t even know you or anything if I’m being to subtle. I guess I should say goodbye now and it was nice chatting to you.

Before Jared knew it he was actually writing back to Alex for some unknown reason. ‘Why the hell am I writing back shouldn’t I just turn the computer of and get back to what I was doing’ he thought to himself.

“Well that’s all over” but before Alex could do anything else he received another email from Jared.

Dear Alex

I am not quite sure why I am actually writing back I’m sure you were probably going to switch of. You might be thinking what the hell is this college kid doing writing back to me hasn’t he realized what the time is. To tell the truth I don’t even know why I’m replying.

I guess to say the truth that I would just like to chat to you some more if you don’t mind. If you decide not to then that’s fine with me I don’t want to disturb you or anything.

Alex smiled and decided to reply back and chat to Jared and so they both chatted to one another until 2:00 in the morning. Jared ended up sleeping in until 1:30pm in the after noon which his friends thought was rather weird for him. Jared normally would wake up at about 8am on the weekend to get some work done. Os, Emma and Tim were looking at Jared sleeping “what do you think is wrong with him” Os asked. “Isn’t is obvious you idiot he is tied” Emma replied to his stupid question “yeah but why he normally is up before we are and its kind of creepy watching him sleep this long” Os complained.

“Hey guys check this out” Tim was near Jared’s computer “it seems that our friend here has been sending emails to someone” Tim said. They looked at their friends computer and saw all these messages which had been sent from the same email address. “Who do you think Alex is” Os said “who knows do you think its some chick that he met over the internet or something” Tim was wondering. “You dick head Alex can be a name for a guy not just a girl” Emma told him. “Hey do you think Jared was actually talking to a man and instead he thought he was chatting to a girl” Os asked. All three of them started to laugh thinking how funny it would be if it was actually true.

Jared heard laughing in his room and slowly woke up, he then saw his friends looking at his computer. “Shit” he quickly got up and covered the computer screen with his arms “what the hell are you guys doing in here” he was rather angry now. “So Jared whose Alex hmm” Os asked with a smirk on his face. “It’s no one” and Jared turned his computer of. The last thing he wanted was his friends knowing he had been chatting to some one nearly all night long last night. Unfortunately it was to late now since he had no clue how long they had been in his room and looking through his email. “No one huh are you sure, you haven’t been trying one of those online dating sites have you” Emma asked also smiling. “Of course not if you must know I accidentally sent an email to the wrong address which I thought was my brothers email but instead some one else received it so they sent it back to me” Jared told them hoping they would get of his case now.

“Really okay we believe you but how come there are so many messages to this Alex person surly it doesn’t take that many messages to just receive just one” Emma said. “Yeah she’s right are you sure you haven’t developed a bit of a thing for this person” Os asked. “What of course not I barely even know this person or even met them” Jared’s temper was rising. “Hey maybe you could meet this Alex” Emma had a big smile on her face which meant bad news. “Surly this person has told you were they work or live or something like that if so go to that place and meet Alex face to face who knows you might actually have something in common with this person” Emma suggested. “No way, not in my right mind that I am going down to Roxana Local School to meet Alex” oh no busted. “Roxana Local huh oh my god I know that school this is just perfect will go down their on Monday at lunch time and visit this mysterious stranger” Emma was so excited.

No matter how much Jared was saying he wasn’t going to go it seemed it didn’t work. Now that it was Monday and he was in her car with Os and Tim driving to the school to meet Alex. Jared was eating his lunch when two pairs of arms grabbed him and he was gagged with a cloth in his mouth and blind folded. The next thing he knew he was in Emma’s car with his hands tied up and sitting in between Os and Tim so he wouldn’t escape. However he wasn’t that stupid to actually fall out of a moving vehicle that’s just plain ridiculous. “Well were here” Emma said stopping the car outside the front of a very large school. “Un tie him boys” she told the other two as they did Jared just sat their angry as a bull. “I am not getting out, there is no way you will get me into that building” but he was pulled out by Os and then being pushed and pulled into the school building.

To Jared this was a complete nightmare if he had just turned his computer of then he would not be in this terrible mess.
