Aerith jumped a little. She turned and seen Jasper. She waited up for him by sitting down in the grass. She had a smile on her face.
Jasper caught up to her and was slightly out of breath, so he sat down next to her. "Hey", he tries to catch his breath. "I missed the bus, good way to start my first day, huh." He looked over at her, still breathing a little heavily from the running.
Aerith laughed. Her laugh was cute in a way. "Yah. That’s a very good first day." She
smiled. "I don't have a car so I can't drive home and I hate the bus.." She went quiet.
"Ohh, I would of driven today, but my car was in the shop. I’m actually on my way there
right now, would you like to come with me to get it?"
"Um.." Aeriths face shined a light shade of red. "Sure.. just uh.." She was a bit
hesitant. "Just let me drop my stuff off at home.. i live right.." She had to stand up and jump to see. "Over there. Its like 2 blocks. I will be right back." She bent over and picked up her very heavy backpack. Aerith pulled it over her shoulder and started to walk.
"Here, you've been so helpful today, the least I could do would be to help you with your books and walk you to your house."
"Oh.. no.. I'm sorry.." She looked away. "My dad.. He.. Oh.. He would have a fit.." Aerith bit her bottom lip. As she was biting her lip her hands where gripping tightly onto the ends of her long sleeved shirt. Aerith looked down.
"Are you sure? Those bags look really heavy... and its only a short distance."
He looked at her and saw her lip was starting to bleed, he took out a cloth he had in his back pocket and wiped the blood off of her lip. "Hey, I understand, ill wait here for you."
He smiled at her a little.
Aerith blushed a deep red. "Th.. Thanks." She smiled a bit and dashed off quickly. It was amazing to see her run with a large backpack. It was as if she had done this so many times before. As Aerith got to her house she quickly ran upstairs to avoid her dad and dropped her bag. She screamed when her dad scared her. "Why are you home late?" Her father questioned. “Its… Its only 5 minutes dad! My back pack was heavy.. and.." "Get up there and prove it to me." He crossed his arms. "Uh.." she quickly ran for the door making it out before her father could get to her.
Jasper laid there on the ground looking up at the clouds as he waited for Aerith to get back. He stared aimless upwards as the wind was blowing all around him.
Aerith was back quickly. She tripped a few feet from him gasping for air. Her body shook greatly from fear.
He looked up when he heard her heavy breathing, he quickly jumped up and ran over too her to check and make sure she was ok. "Aerith, are you ok? You look so panicked."
"I'm.. f-fine." She looked up at him. Her face looked scared. "Please.. lets just get out of here." She slowly got to her feet.
He helped her get to her feet and held on to her back to make sure she was ok. "Are you sure your gonna be alright?"
"Yes. I will be." Aeriths face went from shock to happy. It was as if nothing happen.
"Thank you." she said kissing Jasper's cheek.
He was kind of shocked and at a loss for words. "Y… your welcome." He looked away and
began to start walking. "Hey, do you mind if we run by my house real quick, I need to pick something up and check on my sister. Its only about three blocks away so its not too far out of the way."
They began to walk towards Jasper's house slowly. Every once in a while Jasper would glance over at Aerith but would shyly look away. After a few minutes of walking they arrived at Jasper's house. "Here we are." He reached for the door handle and opened the door. "Come on in, make yourself at home, this shouldn’t take too long at all."
Aerith nodded. She walked in and stood against the wall shyly. She hummed a song to
herself as she waited. Aerith glanced around the room.
Jasper shut the door behind him and led Aerith over to the couch. "Here, take a seat, I just need to run upstairs and grab my car keys." He then headed for the stairs and went up to his room to search for his keys. As he was up stairs his little sister Tori walked into the room. "Hi she said, are you a friend of my brothers?"
Aerith sat on the couch quietly. "Yes I am. You must be his little sister. What’s your
name? Mines Aerith." Aerith smiled warmly.
"Mines Tori, and I’m 8 years old." she stated as she smiled back. "Are you his girlfriend?"
She asked like it was nothing.
Aerith blushed. "oh no I’m not sweety. Although your brother is very handsome." Aerith
smiled and patted Tori on the head.
Jasper was headed down the stairs as Aerith was talking to Tori. "I hope my little sister wasn’t bothering you too much." Jasper glanced over at Tori to see her sticking her tongue out at him and then skipping off into the other room.
Aerith laughed. "No no. She’s really cute." Aerith stood up smiling. She was more talkative out of school. As Aerith moved her hair to the side there was a bright colored line right be her neck. It looked like a scar.
Jasper looked at her neck to see the marking. "Aerith, is that a scar on your neck?"
"Hm?" She quickly put her hair down. "Its nothing." She said still smiling slightly.
Jasper sat there for a second thinking, he has only known her for a day and didnt want to pry too much into her personal life, so he didn’t ask anymore about it. He started walking for the front door, "Shall we head out?"
"Sure." She smiled. She softly grabbed his hand.
He gently squeezed her hand and led her out of the house and on down toward the auto shop. The wind was picking up a little, and the clouds seemed to race by above their heads.
Aeriths hair blew a bit. It started blowing all over. She didn't care though. She enjoyed it. Aerith loved the feeling of him holding her hand. She already knew she was falling for him. No guy ever talked to her openly and would actually hold her hand.
After a little more walking they arrived at the auto shop, and to Jasper's surprise Mesha from his math class was working there. He went up to Mesha and they started to chat a little. "Hey Mesha, I didn’t know you worked here." "Ya, my uncle owns the place so its a pretty sweet job, ya know. Hopefully I'll end up running this place some day." They went on to talk about cars and school and such things of the matter.
Aerith blushed. She was still holding on to his hand.
Jasper looked over at Aerith to see her blushing, he looked back at Mesha. "Hey, you know Aerith, right, Mesha?" "Ya, we have a few classes together, how are you doing Aerith?"
"I'm doing fine." Her face was still a bright red. Her pulse increased and her grip on his hands tightened a bit.
Jasper looked back at Mesha. "Well we should be getting out of here pretty soon, I just came to pick up my car, is it ready yet?" "Which car was yours?" "It was the blue Honda Accord." Mesha walked off and came back driving Jasper's car up to him and Aerith. "Here you go bro." "Thanks Mesha, ill cya at school." Jasper waved goodbye to Mesha and went around to the passenger’s side to open the door for Aerith and help her into the car. He then walked back around to the driver's side and got in and took off out of the auto shop parking lot.
"Thank you." Aerith smiled a bit. "I'm too hot.." She look off her long sleeved shirt to reveal her very scared and bruised arms.
Jasper looked over at her arms to see the scars and bruises; he then gently grabbed her hand to look at them. "Aerith, what in the world happened to you?"
"Nothing I wanna talk about.." Aerith looked out the window to avoid his eyes. A few tears filled in hers. She was desperately hoping he wouldn't have asked.
He looked at her as she turned away; he felt bad for her so he gently kissed her hand and held began to hold it.
Aerith finally looked from the window out the windshield. A few tears ran down her face.
She clasped his hand every time she held back a sob.
He looked over at her and wiped the tears from her eyes. "A beautiful girl like you
shouldn’t be crying like this." After he wiped away the tears he kissed her hand again.
Aerith blushed again. "Than…kk. You." She stumbled with her words.
"Would you like to go anywhere, or do you need to get back home?"
"NO!" She screamed.
He was a little shocked at her answer. "Would you like to go back to my house for a while, my sister had to go to dance at 4, so no one should be home right now."
"Anywhere but my house. Please." She broke out into an uncontrollable sob.
Jasper caught up to her and was slightly out of breath, so he sat down next to her. "Hey", he tries to catch his breath. "I missed the bus, good way to start my first day, huh." He looked over at her, still breathing a little heavily from the running.
