“Ok good, now try to levitate this chair”

I started to concentrate the chair was rising into the air. I wonder if he will ask me to use my pyrokinesis. Suddenly the chair burst into an orange and yellow flame that danced on the timber chair, I lost control and it flew across the room on to a pile of old newspapers which quickly caught on fire. Gideon ran across the room towards the blaze and summoned a hydrokinetic spell which allowed him dissipate the growing flame.

“Of all the…” he started

The corner was a mess; there was an ugly black stain on the floor that lead up to the ceiling. And success a newspaper survived! It’s really old actually, who the hell would keep newspapers from 50 years ago, really!
Oh boy Gideon looks really mad, maybe I deserve a spanking! No, that might be weird a 17 year old doing her late fathers best friend, yep defiantly weird. God, I wish he would just say something.

“Why the hell do I waste my time trying to teach you!?”

Yep his defiantly mad…Wow check out the vein on the side of his neck, it’s huge. Hmmm if I look close enough I think I can see it throbbing.

“Because Jeremy say’s I have potential?”

“Don’t make me laugh, you insolent girl, you can’t even perform the smallest task! I waste my time because your father was my best friend, and he would want me to help you. May he rest in peace?”

He was right, I am ignorant or did he say insolent? Well what ever he said his right. My cheeks are burning red and I feel my eyes burn with hot tears. I kept silent and nod in agreement with him. He rests his heavy hand on my shoulder and sighs

“Look, we’ll continue your lessons tomorrow. I want you to come back after dinner, ok?”

I nod again and wipe my eyes as I turn and run for the door, I just want to get out of there. Once out of the room I kept running and the tears that were burning my eyes poured down my cheeks fast, I finally stopped when I made it to my bedroom door which was locked by the looks of things. Where’s my bag? I must have left it in Gideon’s office, God, can’t anything go right for me today! I slid down my bedroom door and brought my knees up to my chest and kept crying.
I wish I could leave; I’m like a bad smell that won’t go away. Gideon, Damon, Demeter, Asriel, Julia, Michael, Amon, Remus, Romulus, Jeremy and Vincent would be better of without me!

They only take care of me because my father was a powerful Sorcerer and my mother an Enchantress and I’m supposed possess all of their powers. And I must be making them proud! When I was 13 I set the dinning hall on fire then flooded it in an attempt to put the fire out;

Demeter was lighting candles around the dinning hall and on the table big enough to fit all 12 of us and I was blowing one of the table candles out then re-lighting it. I had found it mildly amusing.
“Becky, Jeremy is calling for me will you be alright on your own? I won’t be long.”
I grunted in reply. I didn’t hear Jeremy call! Unless he speaks to her telepathically, I wish he would talk to me like that instead of using his calm relaxing charming voice. That man can make me do anything. I propped my elbows up on the table and rested my chin in my hands, and stared into the flickering flame before me. Watching the flame dance hypnotically on the wick, it was beautiful, I felt nauseas and my hands grew warm, I got up quickly and the nauseas feeling went away as the palm of my hands burst into flame. I started to panic and when I panic I sweat, I couldn’t close my hands, I felt a cold breeze near my face, that did it, I spun around to see if anyone else was in the room, my heart was pounding. The balls of flame left my hands and hit the chairs, soon the table burst into flame then the Persian rug. I had to do something, I ran to the window my bag was laying under it, I pulled out a bottle of water and poured some into my hand and closed my other hand over and muttered an incantation. Black clouds of smoke was filling the now hot dinning hall. The water in my hand turned into a giant bubble that started to grow even more, I released it from my hand and hovered toward the fire and popped and extinguished the fire, just as the last of the flames died out the water began rising, I tried to run through the water that was now at my waist but it turned into walking fast. By the time I made it to the doors I was swimming, I went underwater to try and open the doors but couldn’t, I’m going to die drowning! I thought, no I cant let it end like this go to the window hopefully someone will be walking past. That’s just what I did, I swam back to the window and started to banging on the thick glass; the look on Damon’s face was priceless Vincent’s on the other hand was scary, they ran off and the next thing I know I’m being pushed out of the dinning hall hearing screams and then thrown against something hard and wet in an uncompromising position with Damon, Vincent, Remus and Gideon…
“I’m not even gonna ask” Damon mumbled

That took about 6 months to repair, then I set Demeter’s cat on fire, although that was kind of funny the poor thing was bald for quite some time and boy was Demeter mad when she realized after a week she had no eyebrows! There were plenty of other things I have done that make my teachers and parents want to disown me. So maybe when I stop crying I can find someone to run away with! Oh who am I kidding I have no friends just these who have raised me since I was 13.
