chosen-chapter 2
After the welcoming home, I was exhuasted. From the transformation and the pain of eraseing my human form. I could still feel the burning sensation from when God ripped out my heart, it took my breath away and changed me. Loki came up to me later and walked me away from the group ofangels and God herself. "How do you feel?" he asked. I could only look at him and i blamed myself for being so weak that i couldnt take it. "How do you THINK i feel?!" i said on the edge of anger.
"You cant blame yourself, you took your transformation better than anyone i have seen. I know how it feels, and i cant blame you. It was pure hell."
We walked down the hall into the gardens and all i could do was be ashamed at my volume at the process of change i went through. "Did you know that I was suppose to become this?" i asked him and he stopped, and turned to me with the saddes eyes i have ever seen in him, "I wasnt allowed to tell you. I knew for awhile." we contuined walking but i didnt want to drop the subject."Howlong have you known?" and i pulled him away off the path that we were walking on. "Does it really matter? you are this person and you cant change the past." he asked. "Yes. it matters to me and snice you were my guardian angel, i want the truth." I guess i must have had some rage in my voice because my wings shot up from my back and flapped angrliy. I flinched when it happened because it was at the moment still, a fresh wound. "The day i found out that you were suppose to
be death, was when i was assigned to you, the day you were born." If i had had a heart right then it would have dropped to the ground. "That long, huh?" the edge in my voice was gone and my wings closed down and stopped flapping, all that was heard was the bird's singing and the voice of other angel's talking. "I wanted to tell you, believe me. But...." he said and his voice was breaking and i could tell that tears were close, i could feel them. "You werent allowed. I dont blame you and i understand." Brushing my hair away from my face, i didnt need to have the answers anymore and it could be shown on my face. "Are you ok?" was all loki could muster to me."I will be. So now that i have arrived, why dont u show me around this palace?" i said with some
happiness in my voice, it was almost forced but i wasnt about to go out on my own around this place.
We walked around the gardens and saw the many fountains in the image of select angels and the flowers around them were hews of colors not ever seen by human eyes. Bright blues, Black roses,
red roses, green lilies, colors so bright that it would blind the human eye. The smell was sweet and intoxicating. The water in the foutains were so blue and clear it was almost paradise. He led
me towards the housing where each angel had there own room which included a living room, kitchen, private bathrooms, and a poolside patio outside there rooms. When i came to Loki's room it was
designed in black leather and white walls, very classic and almost sinful to be in heaven. "She allows for you to have your room like this?" i asked almost cynical. "She doesnt judge here and yes she does. Believe me, if you think this is blasphmey then go down to Uriel's room, compelte dungen and everything included." he laughed out and gestured for me to sit. We sat on his couch and took in the smell of fresh linens. "So are all the rooms designed like this or do we get to choose?" i asked and placed my scythe againsted the wall near the door. "You get to choose but Ithink your room has already been chosen. And you are very lucky, you got the best one here next to Her almighty." When he said this i was surprised and very honored. "Makes me feel real bad about i acted earlier." i said. "Dont. My change was much worst than yours. I had my wings ripped off once and that was the worst pain anyone can ever feel. And the my punishment was to allow them to grow back and without and numbing pain to forget the feeling. You took yours like a pro." he said and got up to open his curtains to let in the warm sunlight in his living room and walls gave off a nice cool blue color. "This is really nice. How long have you had this place?" i asked him. "Uh..almost 22yrs. I think i had to change rooms because one of the rebel angel's got introuble and had to fall." I stood up and walked towards him, " So this was his room?" he only nodded. I dropped it from there because it seem to hit a soft spot in him.
"So, when do i get to see my room?" I asked him after he had taken me on the tour of his room and outside. "I dont think its ready yet but we can see, come on." and we left his room and were once again in the vast hallway of the palace. Several angels said hi and welcomed me and to tell the truth, these men and women were beautiful and very kind and open to welcoming me. "Is everyone always like this here? or is just a special occasion for me?" i asked Loki as we walked into another part of the hallway near imperial stairs. "We are almost like this but sometimes we arent.Dont worry, we have been waiting for you to come here for awhile." when he said this i was almostto the point of wondering if my death was pre-determined, but i put it out of my mind. "Ah, here we are." he had led us to a pair of double door made of cherry wood and silver brass knobs. "Oh my. And this is just the doors, i wonder what it is like inside." i turned the knob on the doorand went inside. My room was almost the equvient to that of rome. A huge living room of white furniture and dark blue walls, a fire place in the corner of the living room already burning and
it gave off the smell of fresh burning wood. the carpet was plush and white and underneath was wood-flooring. Everything smelled of fire wood, it was one of my favorite smells back on earth.
The kitchen was black marbel and granite. Huge and had every single type of liqour that i drank aswell as the cabinets were full of the brand of cigarrets i smoked. "I thought liqour and smokes were outlawed here?" he only shook his head. "Everyone here has there vices upon there rooms and it is contained here in the privatcey of there rooms. Nobody needs to know what happens in here."
The bedroom was my favorite, A huge king-size bed with black and white sheets and vast pillows it was almost the excat repical of my bedroom back on earth. My bathroom was black and blue
a huge tub and shower and a big mirror was there at the sink, it was almost too real to believe.
"This is all mine? I dont think i should have this room, its too vast and fit for a king, not me." Loki laughed and smiled at my ignorance. "Hey i would swtich but god wants you to have this
room, and envy you." After taking in everything he showed me my poolside patio, it was very nice and there was a captian's chair outside facing outwards to the gardens, "the real view is at
night. you will enjoy it, you will grow to like it here. i promise." Loki said with a hand on my shoulder and i was at peace finally. I was happy, and greatful.
He left moments later so i could get the real feel of my room and i did travel around it so i could get the feeling of it, and it was paradise. My clothes were nothing but what i was wearing
at that moment, all of it the same. My scythe had its own rack where it would stand. I sat down at the desk in the office, across from the big bay windows, the computer had a list on it and the names had all checks on it, meaning that they had been reaped before i was suppose to come. The lamp next to the computer was off, but i turned it on and the light warmed up the entire place and it made the living room brighten and the window's curtains give off a sheer affect, it was very beautiful. I got up out the chair and walked up the stairs above my kitchen on the opposite side of the bedroom and there was my library, it was bursting with books from all the languages and very verison, i was happy and a smile crept across my face, i touched all the books and the spines werent even cracked, meaning that they were brand new. Shevles and bookcase after case were filled with books. Millions upon millions and i was proud that i would have the chance to read them all. When i got down to the last row of books, I saw the cabinet that contained everysingle kind of music i loved and state of the art music system to play them on. Billy Idol, The Sex-Pistols, The Ramones, The smiths, everysingle one from then up to now. I was thrilled.
"I guess i dont need to download anymore." i said to myself and i heard a laughter. I spun around to see nobody there. "great. im dead one day and already i am hearing voices. great." i said and
sat down in the chair in the library. "You arent crazy." the voice said again and this time i recongized it. It was the strange man that was at my judgement and delieverd my verdict but left before God called everyone to welcome me into the kingdom.
"I am sorry that i left before i could welcome you into the house, but i had my reasons." he said and came into the light from the corner of the library. His hair was long and blond and
his face was strong with the brightest blue eyes and pale-pink lips. He was dressed in red that shined in the light and he was tall and very handsome. "I didnt hear you come in, forgive me."
i said and stood up. "Dont worry about i came in on my own, i see that you love your room. I thought you would. The books were my descison. do you like them? " he asked with a strong but soft voice. "very much. thank you." i said and sat back down in the chair i already in. "so why did you leave? if you dont mind me asking?" i pressed down on my chair waiting for his answer."personal reasons. if you dont mind me not telling you." he said and moved to touch a book. "of course, forgive me for pressing. i am still new to this." i said exasperated and sighed.
"No need to apologize." he said and smiled. "Can i atleast ask you your name?" i asked after finding a smoke on the table. "Marius." he said and bowed at my feet."wait. thats the name ofthe vampire in my favorite novel, "Blood and Gold" by Anne Rice. Are you him or just another guy named him." His eyes glowed and i knew the answer with him speaking a word. "I am him.
