||Broken Inside||2
Lithium- don't want to lock me up inside
lithium- don't want to forget how it feels without
lithium- I want to stay in love with my sorrow
oh but God I want to let it go...
The girl stood silently in the rain once more. Her feet were bare and the grass was soft and soothing to those hurt feet of hers. She looked up to the clouds, her face beaten and bruised; but nothing, no emotion, not even a tear was visible in her empty eyes. Screams came from the home behind her as she stared at the open gate in front of her.
"Emiko, Where are you!!!?" Came her fathers threatening voice and she took off running. Her small arms moving beside her and her tiny feet made hard slapping sounds on the rock pavement under them. Her tiny blue dress bellowed in the wind as she ran. Her short blue hair flapped gently as she turned the corner onto fifth-Avenue where the cemetery was.
Don't want to let it lay me down this time
drown my will to fly
here in the darkness I know myself
can't break free until I let it go
let me go
Her running did not stop. She pushed open the gates of the cemetery and kept running, she wouldn’t let her emotions catch up to her, never. She finally came to a stop in a tomb. She gently sat down in the corner of the room and curled up tightly as she hugged her little legs and stared up to the coffin in front of her. She stared long and hard before a shadow cast itself on the wall before her and she looked to the doorway to find her brother, Erick, standing in the doorway. He stared down at her impassively before reaching his hand to her gently. She stared at his hand for only a moment before she gracefully reached up and took his hand and he brought her to her feet. He kept holding her hand and slowly left the tomb, staring out in front of him stoically. The girl only looked to the green ground, which had become grey in her mind.
"There you two are." Came a gentle voice and the girl looked up. There stood her father, arms extended wide with a smile on his face. How could he smile so when he had, only moments ago, laid his angry hand upon the girls body? She stared up to her father for a long time before a small smile played across her lips and she gently hugged him.
Darling, I forgive you after all
anything is better than to be alone
and in the end I guess I had to fall
always find my place among the ashes
Her father smiled sweetly, taking his child in his arms and extending his hand for his son. Erick gently took his fathers hand and the three of them began to walk. The girl laid her head on her fathers shoulder and stared to an angel's statue upon a grave. Its face seemed animated and would move if she did not look away. She stared for a long time before her father began to turn the corner to their home, that’s when she saw it. A tear, a bloody tear, rolled down the angel's cheek from her eye to her chin and gently fell to the floor below it, killing the flower under it. She closed her eyes. She imagined herself, as the flower.
I can't hold on to me
wonder what's wrong with me...
