Chapter 2
"Sashe! Why do you make my job so hard?"
Dunn said as he caught up with her in the court yard. She turned with her sword drawn and a smile.
"Hard? Your job is far from as hard as mine, getting away from you is witch craft"
Sashe spoke as she drew the sword to her chest. Dunn knew he should block her attack, knowing that her centering technic was well practiced and held an impact unexpected from a woman of her size, but instead he would teach her a lesson.
"AHH"
Sashe yelled as she shot forward, her sword cutting across her form.
"BOO"
Dunn whispered in her ear after shifting behind her and sliding his blade across her neck in a swift pretend motion.
" You should practice your centering with your eyes open, the enemy will not wait for you to wake up in battle"
Sashe dropped her form, after Dunn removed his blade
" You are right Dunn, But why now I've been practicing this technic for 10 yrs with them closed and not once had that occurred to me; no wonder my father feels im helpless how can I be Queen with my eyes closed?.
Sashe kept her back to him; she did not want him to see her sulk.
Dunn knew he was about to get himself into trouble with this comment but he couldnt help it he wanted to see what was on her mind. Was she even considering her fathers ideas?
" By listening to your king, Of course"
Dunn stepped back as Sashe turned to face him eyes wide
" I always listen to my father even when I disagree as I do very often"
Sashe said as she looked at him
"Yes, but its not him I speak of"
Sashe centered her sword with her gaze set on Dunn. A slight tingle of warmth shot through him her eyes where so intense he could not calculate what might come with her movements, as she stepped forward her sword in motion Dunn reached to unsheathe his weapon only gaining half access before she was only inches from his torso
" There will never be another man I bow my head to"
Dunn only caught the brush of her hair against his face as she turned leave. He would leave this battle defeated.
'Men! how can they be so uhhh' she would never give in to such slavery all they wanted was to control. As if im an animal, to be herded around. Her father wanted a mindless Queen to give away so he can be comforted on his death bed that a man was in charge, a man was leading his kingdom . No she would not let it happen again she would not be targeted as weak as her mother was, let someone dare to challenge her.
Sashe stormed across the field as she though about what Dunn had proposed. He thought she should give into being some mans Queen as well, him of all people he who taught her to yield a sword, he who taught her to be strong when faced with a challenge. Well him and her father had a long wait coming. How about never.
Sashe wanted confrontation she wanted to fight she wanted to scream as she beat someone senseless but where would she go where would someone dare to touch the kings daughter where was she unknown.
Sashe smiled as she came to a halt and decided to turn around and head back to the castle. She knew where to go and she knew exactly what to wear.

Great he was in for a chase now he had no idea where she had gone and this was becoming old.
He was so tired of chasing after her, he never understood why the king had him after her every hour of the day she was a better swords man than almost all the knights in his group except him of course but that was only because he had taught her. As she was getting older it was becoming more of a challenge and less of a joke when she challenged him. Why should he have to protect her when she herself could protect him if it came to it.
What was he thinking he knew the king would never accept the thought of his daughter being out alone especially after his wife unfortunate death. Queen Neya was a force to be reckoned with in her day also but she was still a woman and im sure the king will never forget that again. When it came to his daughters especially Sashe who everyday looks more and more like her mother. The king will never take his guard from his daughters but Dunn was getting weary with this task, he had been doing it for 10 yrs.
He spotted Sashe in the field leading away from the castle and cursed as he fastened his pace to keep up with her. Where was she going? She stopped and turned and Dunn hid behind a tree and watched her as she turned and headed back. Thank goodness she must of had a rush of sense'.
She knew she should never leave the castle without him not so much for the fear of her not being able to carry herself but more so be cause as much as he and the king hated to admit she was a woman now and far from a normal one, beauty was Iyu but Sashe was something more, something tempting something he knew would only make his job harder when it came to it. Something.
Why couldn't she be more like Iyu, Quiet, observing and gentle. No that would only make his job easier.
Torri one of his guard’s women, one of the few of course stopped him as he entered the castle and told him that the king wanted to speak with him. 'Oh joy' he though as he took one last glance at Sashe headed toward her room and headed in the opposite direction to speak with her father.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
" Iyu do you have something girlie I could borrow?"
Sashe already had in mind what she wanted from Iyu's closet, but she did not want her to think she actually liked any of the clothes Iyu wore, that would only make her suspicious as to what Sashe was up to.
" What is father still trying to make you look like a woman?"
Iyu turned from the book she was reading to look Sashe in the eye.
" Whats new? If a man is to marry me he should love me in anything I wear"
Sashe averted her eyes from Iyu it always seemed as if she could see right through her, and she did not want her having a talk with Dunn and them putting two and two togeather so she had to have a solid story and it had to be believable or when Dunn asked Iyu later where Sashe was she would have a story already fed to her and he would leave me be, being that he always believed innocent little Iyu.
"Help yourself you know where my closet is."
Iyu had started to turn toward her book when Sashe decided to put her little plan into action. Sashe headed toward Iyu and sat Really close to her the way father did when he wanted to have a serious conversation with her.
"Iyu? Do you think anyone will ever want to marry me?"
Iyu was thrown off by Sashes comment and just stared at her for a moment. ‘ What was this was Sashe actually talking to her seriously?’ Or was she joking with her.
" Sashe that is not the question you should be asking. You have had courters lined up for years with or without your being able to dress or act like a woman. The real question is will you ever be able to take your place beside someone who is to be your king."
Iyu saw her eyes set a fire and wished she had thought twice about how she answered the question Sashe had asked
" PLACE!?, WHAT PLACE SHOULD I TAKE? THE PLACE ALL THE OTHER WOMEN OF OUR FAMILY HAVE TAKEN, A SLAVE TO A MAN WHO DOESN'T EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE YOU AS AN EQUAL BUT JUST AS A WOMAN, A WOMAN IN A PRETTY DRESS RIGHT! NO, I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WAS THINKING I WILL NEVER CONFORM TO BEING A…A... OHH FORGET IT!!"
Sashe had left Iyus side before she could even try to appease her sisters anger and was headed toward the door where she turn suddenly as she held the door open in front of her and stared back at Iyu
"And I act like a woman.... maybe not as well as you but what exactly is the standards of being a woman I act no different from our mother!"
Iyu started to remind Sashe that their mother was dead and Iyu had no doubt that It was because their mother had the same attitude Sashe had now but it was no use Sashe was gone.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'ok that did not go as I had planned '.
Sashe thought as she stormed toward her room.
'I didn't think I would get that mad over what I knew was going to be said'
. How was she suppose to get out of the castle without leaving an alibi .Iyu would say that they had an argument and I stormed off and in turn Dunn would begin to look for me .'
God I wish I could keep my temper in check. Life would be a whole lot easier'.
Maybe her father would not keep such a tab on her. Sashe stopped at Iyus door instead maybe she was on to something. Iyu barely had any one after her maybe she could learn a thing or two from her about being a.... Woman. As much as Sashe hated that idea, a woman was what Sashe wanted to be right now, Unthought of. That would give her a chance to just relax without being constantly reminded of what a queens duty was, which was to find an king. But she wouldn't get all crazy in one night she still had some steam to blow off and maybe she could be there and back before Dunn noticed.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was dark he stumbled as he came to the split in the road. He smiled as he thought to plot that rock in his memory. He followed this path so routinely and most often he was intoxicated. He decided he would take the long route leading around toward the wall that was set up to protect the castle he needed time to think he had had something on his mind all nite and he thought he should think it out before he headed to the pub. He was normally a good drinker but he knew he got bad especially if he was trying to forget something.
As he came closer to the wall he noticed a figure jumping from the wall he would normally mind his own business but he thought it odd that someone was sneaking off the castle grounds instead of in. as he got closer he noticed, which was more of a surprise than the previous, that it was a female.
Though this struck him as odd he continued ahead and passed her by noticing only the color of her dress, which fit her particularly well, but he had other things to think about especially tonight.
He came to the pub 10 minutes later thinking more of a drink than of whatever it was that was bothering him. So he went in to the same table with the same waitress serving him the same drink. He watched the same men leaving with different women and it hit him this is what he wanted to drink away.
