Lady Knight

CHAPTER ONE
"The target is on the move" replied a deep husky voice into a ear piece.
"Good keep on him we must retrieve the stolen data and erase any evidence
of the experiments" a male voice said through the mike." Copy over and out".
The stoic figure stealthily glided through the busy streets of Brooklyn
following the man who had emerged from the run down building across the street.
"Man I could have been at home with a cold beer and TV dinner ,but no I had to get picked to
infiltrate a crazy scientist's lab. Just my luck".groused Eric. In his late 20's Eric is
a high ranking officer of his field. Raised in Savanna with a family of six Eric is
the middle child with a very high IQ. Three sisters and two brothers who are always
up to something are always trying to fix him up on a blind date which he
conveniently forgets to attend. Preferring to play with numbers at the age of 10
Eric can crack any number code or safe making him almost invaluable
to the military."Man this better be worth it ". he groused as he kept sight
of the suspicious looking guy ducking and weaving the crowd. While causally
leaning up against a building pretending to be a tourist he was approached
a buxom young looking lady with gleaming red hair to her waist and face very attractive .
"hey sugar want to come with me. I promise we could
have a hell of a lot of fun"."Great another one" he though. "Sorry but maybe we could
get to know each other real well sometimes". "Sure hon you know were to look
if you need a good time".With that she turned and walked almost glided across the street.
"Now back to what I was doing" he said under his breath. the man he was following suddenly
veered off in to a tall building office were people were streaming in and out. "Great just what I needed
more people". Quickly cutting across the street into the building Eric
spotted our man boarding an elevator."well well were are we off to" Eric wondered as he
too boarded the elevator. the man was short almost 5'2 probably in his late 30's with gray
streaked blond hair to his ears, and he was slightly pudgy in his to tight gray business suit. He looked highly nervous about something the way he kept twitching and jumping when the elevator
stopped to load or unload people. Reaching the twelfth floor which seemed like hours but only
a few minutes Eric stayed leaning up against to wall waiting for him to get off. When the doors
opened the man quickly walked off while Eric was left to follow. The hallway was a long white corridor
leading to four different double doors on each side. The target stopped at a set of
doors marked with a strange cycle like symbol with strange marking around it strangely like Greek or latin.Eric waited until the doors shut then peeked through the plastic on the side of the door.
The target was sitting in a chair in what appeared to be a plushy look office were everything
was either red or black. in the far left corner of the room stood two double
doors made of oak wood. I wonder what he's up to.Eric said under his breath
while still watching his target fidget in a high back black metal chair with a red
cushion to it. the double doors swung open to reveal a tall person in a all black
velvet robe with red designs along the sleeves and hood which was now covering their head.
I guess you could say we hit the jackpot"declared in a loud whisper into the mike on his ear.
The person in the robe slowly approached the desk and sat with the hood obscuring Eric's
view so you couldn't really see their face,but judging from height alone he assumed
the person to be male around 6'7 or 6'3 weighing around 210 to 219 was Eric's
next best guess. He couldn't hear well what was being said between his target and
the tall stranger but the man in the gray suit began to beg and plead from the
position he was in on the floor with his hand in a prayer-like position in front of the
hooded mans desk. The double-doors opened again to emit two body-builder like
men with long black hair tied in the back hanging to their waist in
expensive black suits wearing dark sun glasses in the slightly lit eerie looking room.
strolling over to the cowering and whimpering man the each took an
arm and walk/dragged the man now screaming to the top of his lungs that even
Eric who before couldn't make out what was being said heard the man yell"master please don't do this
I have been loyal to for years, please don't do this to me" hollered the man as he
was dragged through the double doors which swung back quietly silencing the man screams.
What the hell just happened" questioned the voice in the mike. It seems our target fail
in something big replied Eric to the mouth piece as he watched the robed man
stand and walk to a book shelf in the corner of the room. As Eric watched he pulled a book
out But Eric couldn't tell witch one because the man blocked his view.
The second shelf in the middle of the three moved to the left revealing a doorway which the
stranger slowly strolled in to but paused and turned to the doorway which Eric
hid and stared as if he since almost knew he was their. He turned and walked through
as the shelf slid shut behind him.
Quietly Eric pushed open the door and looked around studying various antiques
and statues. moving over to the large desk he saw a file titled 'MARGAY'.
What the hell" he muttered reading the short file which explained procedures
in tests done on this tiny animal. abandoning the desk he
wandered over to the shelf where the stranger had stood and examined
the books pulling one then another. Finally he came to a very thick book among
the smaller volumes. When he pulled it you could hear a slight grinding noise
like metal to metal as the doorway was again revealed. The entrance way was dark
revealing little light except for the dim light coming from behind him
showing a stone staircase winding downward. "Eric what did you discover" inquired the voice
"A door way which I'm about to investigate" he quipped then proceeded down.
