This one is kinda short, but it\'s introducing a new character and expressing a little bit of Alex\'s supressed inner personallity. Anyway, enough of me I\'ll let you get on with the story.

Please Enjoy!

The day was clear and somewhat warm against her delicate skin, but she enjoyed the day to it’s fullest. She had donned dull colored riding skirts and a simple lace-up top. She rode improperly, straddling the animal, but she didn’t care. No one would see her anyway since she was staying on the estate, and it was safer for her to ride full saddle in the first place. She had kept her hair down, wanting to feel the day against her fully. Her dark color drew in the light and warmed her scalp quickly, urging her to ride across the lands at a trot to stay cool. But she declined herself that. Once out of view of the mansion she breathed deeply as she passed from sheltered forest into open fields. The land rolled before her, alive with the sounds of nature as the wind forced it’s way through the treetops, pushing whistles and hisses from the leaves as it went. It was then that thought slid past her, she contemplated the reason for the winds fury that day. It had seemed so calm when she was standing at her window, what had changed its mind?

Her eyes scanned the lands as she stopped at the forests edge once more. She was still barely sheltered by shade, the light broken into a million shards that fell against the ground below her. The large field before her was one of the largest on the estate, and was filled to bursting with wildflowers. Every pastel color filled her eyes to their brims and threatened to suck her into their beauty. The smell of pollen was strong as the wind pushed her forward. Her mind broke a moment. Was it really pushing her forward? Had it driven her to that place as it had many times before? No, it was different this time, something was in her vision that she didn’t understand yet or could not yet see. She spanned the field again. There, at the other side! She squinted slightly to try and make out the figure in the brightness of the sky. It was true, the wind had driven her to that spot, it had pushed her to find the figure that was distant from her. Alex felt a smile strike her face. It was a man, a stranger she had never seen before. Most people she had ever seen had been old fat men whom were friends of her father, or distant relatives. She had stayed so calm and regal before them to follow her father’s wishes but deep inside she had always wanted to go up to one and poke his fat belly.

A giggle slipped from her throat, surprising her. She had never met a young man before, and as far as she could tell, he wasn’t much older than herself. Her smile faded as her chest tensed, he turned his horse and faced her now. Even at the distance she could feel his gaze upon her, could feel the weight of it without seeing his eyes. It was in this moment she felt the fire burst up from inside. She was always so repressed, always so calm and regal and elegant. She was alone now, with out a witness in the world to tell her no. She healed her mare and stood slightly in the stirrups, allowing the animal into a run, directly for the youth across from her. She felt her skirts lift from her legs even more but didn’t care, her hair streaming out behind her in ebony ribbons as she neared her playmate. As she quickly closed the gap between them her eyes found him quite attractive, he was indeed young, she guessed only two or three years older than herself. What was he doing on the estate? Was he a friend of her fathers?

It was the moment now, her time of childish play. As she neared him and made out his facial features she smiled ever so slyly at him as she passed him, then continued her gallop into the forest, casting a warm glance over her shoulder as if to say ‘follow me’. He had returned her look with a smile of his own, wasting no time in healing his horse after her. When she heard the horse whinny she felt it was confirmed that the race was on. She snapped the reins and leaned closer to the animal, trying to hug her body without inhibiting her. She turned sharply to her left as she caught a glimpse of him out of the corner of her eye; he was nearing her quickly. Down to the shoreline she went, pushing her tiring mare slightly, just long enough to reach the sands before she turned her again this time to face her pursuer. The horses were quite excited now and both danced about as their owners caught their own breaths. It was hard work, running a race, for horse and rider alike. Both were smiling though. She admired him closer now, having had her playtime with him. He had a very strong jaw line, very masculine but complimenting to his broad shoulders and stunning eyes. The color was strange, a brown color that almost looked to have a red tint when the sun struck them just right. He was very slim looking, which was easy to determine since he was dressed in dirty and poor looking clothes. But it wasn’t his clothes that drew her attention the most, his smile was most stunning, pulling at his lips ever so gently while creating small dimples in his cheeks.

“I’ve never seen a woman ride as you do my lady. And never one so confident in her abilities.”

Flattery, maybe he was one of her father’s friends. She suppressed this thought though and smiled to him kindly for the words.

“It’s not proper for me to accept such compliments sir. Seeing as how I’m not fit to ride as I am.”

She indicated her straddling the saddle but he seemed unfazed by her comment.

“I feel it would be a crime to tear you from the saddle. You are at home how you are. I want to ask you, have I wandered onto your estate? I wasn’t sure but seeing you our here alone I’m sure now that I’ve found myself on your land.”

She shook her head at him and smiled, he spoke as a commoner. She had gathered that much from his clothing but it could have been possible that he was simply dirty from travel. Either way, she was sure now that he wasn’t of noble birth, but now her question was why was he talking so unformally with her?

“It is my father’s estate. We have travelers pass through on occasion due to our lack of property marking. We don’t have a fence of any sort to close our land, it confuses people sometimes.”

He nodded, somewhat relieved looking but worried at the same time.

“You can stay for dinner if you’d like, or the night if you wish it. My father won’t mind and we have plenty of room to spare if you need rest sir.”

He smiled to her kindly and bowed to her as best he could in his saddle.

“I would like that very much lady-“

“Alex Hemming.”

He smiled again, he had such a beautiful smile.

“Lady Hemming, I’m Damon Lexton.”
