Prier to a Night on the Town
Chapter one: Part Two
“Mom, I told you I’m fine!” I ensured her as I struggled to hold my cell phone between my shoulder and ear because at the moment I was trying to put on some earrings. “It’s only ten days, for Pete’s sake!”
“I know, but I’m worried about you two being all alone in that big city.” she said in a worried voice. “What if something happens?”
“Mom, nothing’s going to…” I said drifting off as Ellen stepped into view. She was nervously fixing the straps of a small black dress around her shoulders.
“Marie?!” My mother yelled in my ear, but I was no longer aware of anything but Ellen. The phone slid off my shoulder and fell onto the bed.
“You like it?” Ellen asked with a girly twirl.
“It’s…” I struggled to speak, completely transfixed. “…you’re so…beautiful…”
Ellen only smiled; she was never the type to blush. “Thanks…You’d better talk to her before she has a heart attack.” she said gesturing to the phone.
“Oh!” I said as I awoke to the real world. “Mom?!”
“What happened?!” she asked frantically.
“Sorry…” I said looking back up at Ellen, “…I got…distracted. Look, Mom, I’ve got to go. I’ll call you later okay?”
“No!” Ellen said suddenly grabbing the phone. “Sorry, Mrs. Johnson, but Marie can’t call back. We’re going to be busy.” With that she hung up the phone. “Ready?”
“She’s only going to call me again.” I said standing up and grabbing my purse sourly.
“No she won’t.” she said turning off the phone and tossing it across the bed. “And I’m not letting you check your messages.”
“She’s only concerned about me, that’s all.” I said reaching for my phone.
She grabbed my hand, “A bit too concerned. How are you supposed to have fun if you’re answering to her all the time?”
“And I should answer to you instead?” I said bitterly.
“Yes.” she said shortly, pushing me backwards onto the bed.
“Why are you always ordering me around?!” I said indignantly as she climbed on top of me.
“Because you like it.” she said her eyes burning insanely. “You like it because every day you have to put on an act. An act that says you’re in charge, you’re in control, but all you really want to be dominated; dominated by me and me alone.”
“I do not!” I lied trying to avoid her eyes.
“Yes you do!” she yelled grabbing my arms violently.
“No I don’t!” I yelled struggling to get up.
She grabbed my thighs right where they met. An uncontrollable heave leapt up out of me. “I control you!” she screamed at me.
“Fine!” I said pleadingly. “Just stop before I spoil my dress!”
She stood up, leaving me breathing heavily. “We’d better get going. We have reservations for seven.”
“You love to torture me, don’t you?” I said struggling to breathe normally.
“Almost as much as you love the torture.” She said holding the door open, waiting for me to follow.

“Now you’re just spoiling me.” I said as we climbed excitedly into a stretch limousine.
“It’s a vacation isn’t it?” Ellen said as if it was nothing.
“Where are we going anyway?” I asked as the driver pulled out into busy evening traffic.
“If I told you it wouldn’t be a surprise.” she said in a strange tone.
There was an uncomfortably long silence after that. Ellen seemed to be staring out the tinted window at the palm trees and flashing lights, lost in her thoughts. I wished she’d just say something.
“Is something the matter?” I asked putting a hand on her shoulder.
“No. What makes you think that something’s wrong?”
“You just seem really quiet…why won’t you look at me?”
“I can’t.” she said turning away when I turned her face my direction.
“Why can’t you look at me?” I said beginning to get upset.
“You’re too gorgeous.” she said looking at me sorrowfully.
I felt my cheeks blush a little. She was acting so strange. Normally she’d be staring at me and touching me no matter how much I asked her not to.
“What are you talking about?” I asked, searching in her eyes for the answer.
“Are you blind?” she said in a quiet voice. She looked at me as if I was oblivious to the obvious and as she spoke she put her fingers to everything she described. “You’re beautiful. You have such soft, tan skin that I can’t stop touching you. You have such stunning sea green eyes that I can’t help but get lost in them. Your jet black hair, so soft and straight, I just want to run my hands through it. That smooth, slender neck and those succulent lips that I never get tired of kissing over and over. Marie, I can barely stand sitting next to you without going crazy for your love.”
I sat paralyzed by her touch as she spoke to me. She had never complimented me before, as far as I could remember. If anything her idea of a compliment involved kissing me until I became erotic.
“So that’s why you can’t look at me?” I said with uneven breath.
She looked away out the window. “I have to get used to the fact that I can’t do you any time I please.”
I turned her head once again but she wouldn’t look me in the eyes. I kissed her and wrapped my arms around her, whispering in her ear, “I’m yours to do with as you please.”
