The Curse

Arsenia was seventeen now and in her last year of highschool. Myra Thatchet was a very good mother to her and with her help Arsenia had recovered from the sight of her mother's death. Her father had been the one that had murdered her and has been in jail ever since.

That morning, Arsenia drove her car to school thinking it would be a normal day; a day like all the rest of the days. She went through her first couple of classes without a hitch, then she was at lunch sitting with her best friends, Lisa and Travis. They weren't the most popular kids in school, they mostly mided their own business and stayed away from the people that they new would only cause them trouble.

"Hey look at the freaks!" a guy said from a group of very preppy looking people.

A girl in a cheerleading uniform turned to look at the people he was talking about, "Yeah I know!" she said, "I hear that one chicks crazy. Like, she saw her dad murdering her mom or some crazy shit like that. Mind fucked her or something." the cheerleader laughed as Arsenia and the others listened.

"Why do people care about what happens in our lives. It's not like it's going to affect them in anyway." Travis said.

Arsenia turned from staring at the people that were talking about her and looked at Travis. "Those people piss me off." she said as a paper wad flew through the air and hit her in the cheek. Arsenia stood up quickly and started to walk towards the cheerleader.

"Dude! Arsenia, what's up with your eyes? They are a crazy shade of yellow." Lisa said as she watched Arsenia head to the group of people.

Arsenia had snapped. She couldn't stand when people talked about her or her friends. Never before had anyone done something like that, though. 'Talk is one thing' Arsenia thought to herself. She walked straight to the cheerleader and picker hear out of her seat by the scruff of her neck. "Don't ever do anything like that again. Just fuck off and leave us alone." She said as she slammed the girl into the wall.

"Get of me, freak!" she yelled as her feet flailed under her and she clutched her sweater and Arsenia's wrist.

"JUST LEAVE US ALONE, YOU FUCKING WHORE!" Arsenia screamed so that it echoed through the cafeteria. The hand that wasn't hold the cheerleader up balled up and hit her smack in the nose, causing her head to slam into the wall. The cheerleader then grabbed Arsenia's hair and tried to knee her in the stomache.

Arsenia pulled the girl off the wall and slammed her into the ground and hit her everwhere she could reach. She grabbed her head and slammed it back into the floor again.

Lisa and Travis jumped to attention and ran towards the fight when it had gone too far. They agreed the chick may have deserved a swift punch in the face, but not so far as this. When they reached Arsenia, she was slamming the girls head into the floor. They grabbed both arms and pulled her to her feet. Arsenia struggled to get back at the girl who was now bloody, bruised, and unconsous. She freed one arm from Lisa's grip, but soon it was recovered by another set of hands. More people grabbed her to keep her away from the girl as other's picked her up to bring her temporarily to the schools nurse until they could get her to the hospital.

Lisa had fallen in front of Arsenia as she flailed about to get back to the girl. Lisa stared into Arsenia's eyes in fear. They were a bright orange color. She had always seen Arsenia's eyes a grey-blue color. It frightened her to see her eyes reflecting her mood. 'What's happened to her? She has always been so calm about everything.' She thought as she watched people surround Arsenia to hold her back.

Soon Arsenia calmed down and Lisa watched her eyes change back from orange to yellow, and from yellow back to their natural grey-blue color. Lisa saw Arsenia's eyes roll back into her head as she passed out. The people that were holding her back moved away from her as her body went limp. Travis held her on his shoulders and looked up at Lisa. "Let's take her home." he said as Lisa came to help him carry her.
