Bliss Memeshii

Chapter 2 – Bliss Memeshii

“Skank.”

“Whore!”

This was a morning routine, Bliss tormented the cheerleaders while the cheerleaders taunted her group. Bliss, and her best friend Davea, were thought of as skanks, just because they dressed in black and wore a lot of dark make-up. To the cheerleading preppy crowd that were ever so popular it was a no-no to look like that, and so they were what was known as the ‘skaters’ even if not one of the whole group owned a skateboard, and had even been on one.

The cheerleaders on the other hand, lead by Yuna Kiseki, were the whores in Bliss’s groups eyes. Any girl who would jump and jiggle for a crowd at will could be nothing but a bunch of fun loving whores, and the worst part was, though Yuna did not know Bliss’s true nature, Bliss knew all about Yuna. After all, Yuna was dating Bliss’s … well, almost brother, Waza.

“B-L-I-S-S!” Yuna called, heading off the cheerleaders into their daily call. “Bliss is made of glass, though she’s a horse’s ass, she wants to be pretty, and cute, and popular to boot, instead she’s dark, and cruel, and totally fuckin’ ugly!”

“Too bad they periodically check lockers,” Bliss grumbled to Davea, “or I would be bringing my knife with me to school.”

“Would you actually hurt her?” Davea asked on a laugh. “She’s just trying to get to you, and it seems it works.”

“You know what fucking sucks,” Bliss complained, flipping her long black hair over her shoulder, “is that my mom always says, ‘Be nice to the Kisekis and Inperiarus, they are family friends and should be treated like relatives,’ well, my fucking relatives left me with some woman when I was a baby, though they could afford to take care of me. I think I’m treating Yuna perfectly fine.”

“Well, Tiera ain’t so bad,” Davea pointed out. “She’s a little dreamy, but she’s a good girl and minds her own business.”

“Yeah, but Link and Sora are pricks like their sister,” Bliss continued her gripe. “It got worse, too, after Ashe. Everyone immortalized Ashe, thought the world of him. It seemed to bring everyone together for some reason. When he… when he…”

“Still hard?”

“Very,” Bliss nodded. “It is worse for Harmony though.”

Davea had to choke back a small laugh. “You know, you and your family and friends are a bit fucked,” she pointed out point-blank. “I mean, Harmony and Ashe were cousins, and you and Shu-”

“Shhhh,” Bliss said, waveing her hand in front of her friend’s face. “God, the last thing I need is for anyone to hear you put Shu’s name with mine. At least my bad relationship is a secret. Harmony and Ashe were a little too…”

“Public?” Davea laughed. “Man, who would have thought Ashe was even related to his little sister. I’ve only met the girl once and I can’t believe they came from the same parents. She’s so, timid, and quiet, and well brought up, and chose to go to private school instead of public school. Ashe was…”

“Hey, there’s Daniel,” Bliss suddenly butted in, having heard enough about Ashe already that morning. It was a tender subject around her still, though it had happened seven months ago. Bliss still regretted that moment every day, every day she remembered it ever too clearly.

“Hey Danny-boy!” Davea called all too loudly, her boisterous self loving the attention bolstered upon her at every turn. “Good to see you with some clothes on!”

“Davea!” Daniel flushed, walking up to them, with a bit of anger in his eyes though he tried not to show it as he came up to his girlfriend and wrapped his arms around her shoulders, and began dragging her away from Davea. “Good to see you, I’m kidnapping Bliss now, bye bye.”

“Well how rude,” Davea called after him, watching Daniel and Bliss walk away, Bliss waving after her friend, who stuck her tongue out, then brought her hand up to her ear and gave the international sign for ‘call me’ and went off to her first class of the day.

“She’s a bit rambunctious isn’t she?” Daniel asked, squeezing Bliss close.

Bliss, always the guilty party, flushed before answering. “Yes, she is,” she admitted finally, telling herself to calm down. She and Daniel had been dating for about five months, which in teenage world almost meant forever and they were one of the hottest couples in the school, besides teenage dream queen Yuna and her preppy boy-toy Waza. It sucked vying for attention from the same person you rivaled in everything else most of your life as it was.

Daniel was back-up boyfriend, though he did not know it. Bliss, not wanting the title of ‘lesbian’ that someone, most likely Yuna and her brothers, had spread around school had known she needed a boyfriend. She could not admit that she and Shu were sort of boyfriend and girlfriend, and she could not prove to be straight by hanging around only Davea, who was undaunted by the lesbian rumors because it had still meant attention for her, especially from a lot of guys who thought lesbians were hot. Bliss, however, loved to prove Yuna wrong and took initiative, finding a decent guy in Daniel. He was popular, but not popular jock-prep, and not popular-skater. He was just popular for looking cool and being a nice guy, and his awesome leather jack and Chrysler Sebring convertible that Daddy had bought for him for his sixteenth birthday.

Bliss had approached Daniel one night at a baseball game, right before summer started, when the rumor had become big news, had suddenly sat down, curled up in his lap, and told him, “I’m going to be your new girlfriend,” since his girlfriend, Yuna’s little sister Tiera, had just broken up with him. Daniel, on the market and looking for someone to try to make Tiera jealous, had jumped at the chance to date Bliss, who was more of a prude than he expected.

Then summer came and Daddy took Daniel and family away on their yacht for the summer, leaving Bliss alone, boyfriendless, but schoolless as well, which was always a great thing. When Daniel came back, so did the title of boyfriend, and so did school, and three out of five of their months had been spent away from each other. Ah, life was perfection, but now that months were going on, Daniel wanted more from Bliss, and she did not want to give it. She wanted to give it to Shu, who seemed less than interested. C’est la vie, as they say, but she would make up her mind when the time truly came and wavered over her head like a big red banner reading VIRGIN. Virgin was not the hot thing to be anymore, though it seemed to bother Shu little.

Tiera, always the nice girl, had no qualms about Bliss dating her ex-boyfriend, after all it was Tiera who had broken up with Daniel. They seemed like and evenly nice couple, and Tiera would never say why she suddenly broke up with one of the hunks of the school, especially a senior while she was but a wee sophomore, but how much did that matter? As long as Tiera did not mind, Bliss did not mind.

“What were you and Davea up to looking so guilty?” Daniel asked as he escorted Bliss to her first class.

“We do not feel guilt, but relief at the chains of society we can throw off, and right in the faces of the Kiseki children, at every chance we have,” Bliss admitted.

“Amen,” Daniel mumbled, then smiled at Bliss. “You going to the football game this weekend?”

“I’d rather choke on a chicken bone,” Bliss smiled happily, “but unfortunately I will be there since Davea’s latest fling is on the football team and she dare not show up without her lesbian lover.”

Daniel let out a small laugh and reached his arm around Bliss and pulled her closer. “That would make an excellent threesome one night,” he joked, though somewhere in his male testosterone Bliss was sure that it was not a complete joke. Men were like that, most men. Should she be worried that Shu might be gay? “Where did you go just now?”

“What? Oh, sorry,” Bliss apologized profusely, brushing off the thought of Shu while she was with what was supposed to be her real boyfriend. “I seemed to have had a bad morning so far, so I’m not really… all there, I guess.”

“It’s all right, your beauty often makes up for the lack of working in your brain until you have had your first espresso in the morning.” Bliss tried to hide irritation. Did she really come off as some vacuous bimbo until she was caffeinated? It was possible. She often stumbled around in the morning while the other Memeshii children were up and moving long before her.

“I’ll see you after school, okay,” Bliss said, leaning up to give Daniel a quick, chaste, peck on the lips before going towards her classroom. “I have class with one of the hate Kiseki children next, and I would like to be fresh, with my espresso that I am sure Karl has ready, so I can bash him to pieces.”

Daniel smiled and nodded her way. “Yes, of course my beauty,” he said happily. “I will see you after school, and don’t forget that after the game me and some of the other guys, some from the team, yes, sorry, are going out for pizza. You and Davea should come along.”

“It all depends on how good you are to me later,” Bliss said, the double entendre meant in her husky voice that drove men wild. It was too bad it was all of the wrong men, but this was how life had chose to deal her hand, and she would do the best she could with this very hand.

“I can be very good, or very bad, depending on what you want,” Daniel said with just as strong an innuendo.

“You’re blocking the door,” snapped a perky young male blonde that pushed his way through the door, paying little attention to the two outside of it. If Bliss was not eternally already ready to kick Kiseki butt Link would have given her another excuse to do just that.

“See you later,” Daniel said, recognizing the fire that glistened in his girlfriend’s eyes.

“Later, sweetie,” she said with a sickeningly sweet voice, then pushed through the door and into the classroom, taking her seat between Link and her friend Karl, waiting for another droll day of school to begin.
