Chapter 2
Ring, Ring, Ring
Ring, ring, ring
“Dammit” Lee said as she stood up from the floor, her hands sticky from the china plate she was trying to fix. She ran to her bedroom and pushed the speak phone button with her pinky. Chee, chee static rang through before she heard any ones voice. “Hello”
“Hey girl, this is Megan, how long you been here at school.”
“Hey, I been here almost a week got here on the 14th how about you?”
“That’s when I got back, am I on speaker phone?”
“Yeah, my hands are all sticky”
“Ohhhh, so you got you a little friend over, that’s why you been ignoring my calls, you need it. Its about time you in got you some, always walking round like you got a stick up yo ass. Girl let me call you later don’t want it going soft on you, if you know what I mean.”
“get your mind out of gutter megan im just fixing one of my plates, and I’d better get back before this glues dries on my hands”
“ok but hey we want you to go out with us tonight were meeting at Billies Place you’ll be there right? And before you say no just think about it tonight is the last night weve got before were over loaded with classes.”
“well I don-“
“And if you go out with us tonight I promise I wont ask again until our next break” Megan cut in.
Lee thought for minute, she knew what Megan said was true there wouldn’t be another time for them all to go out until the next break because she was serious about her classes; it seemed as if she was the only one of her friends who thought 24 hours just wasn’t enough time in a day. “Ok, I guess I could go, I’ll meet you there.”
“Can’t wait, oh and I have someone I want you to meet well I got to go, bye”
“Me-.” Megan hang up the phone before Lee could say anything, Lee hated when her friends did this it always put her on the spot, how was she supposed to have good time with her friends if she was trying to discourage some tity grappling man. Lee thought about not showing up so she wouldn’t have to deal with it but decided against it, why deprive herself of a good time because of some pervert. Lee went into the living room and sat back down on the floor to finish fixing her plate before she had to get dressed.

Lee got out of the shower and glanced over at the clock, “8:52 dammit I’m going to be late.” Lee rushed over to the bed and was about to put on her clothes just when the doorbell rang “ugh, why now?” she asked herself as picked up her robe and threw her towel over her shoulders.
“I coming,” she yelled as she walked to the door. She flung the door open, while in the recesses of her brain she knew she shouldn’t.
“heyyyyyyy,” Lee said looking into the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen.
“oh hello I’m Thomas, Thomas Carr, and I live a couple doors down, I’m sorry to bother you, but I was wondering if I could use your phone, no one else seems to be in and I don’t have my connection yet.”
“Ummm, sure come on in,” Lee began to walk back to her room were the phone was when she saw her clothes on her bed, she turned back towards her guest and bumped right smack into him. “Uggg,” she groaned as she began to fall backwards towards the ground.
Thomas reached out just in time to catch her.
“sorry I didn’t realize you were following”
“no, no it was my fault I wasn’t paying attention to were I was going”
“I –I” Lee stuttered as she stared into his eyes they were just such a deep brown that she got lost in them.
Ring, ring, ring the ringing of the phone snapped her out of her trance
“Um I have to get dressed so I’ll bring the phone out here, if you’ll excuse me”
Lee went into her room and took a deep breath before picking up the phone
“Don’t tell me you chickened out” Megan said, exasperated
“No as a matter of fact I didn’t I’m just running a little late I will be there in about 20 minutes at the most ok, I have to go bye”
Lee hung up and unplugged the phone,then took it to Thomas. “the jack is right there,” she pointed beside her Mickey Mouse cookie jar, “Take your time I’m in no rush,” she said as she walked back to her room. In her room she dressed quickly and then curled her hair the way Sharon always liked. Lee opened her door forgetting that she had a guest and gasped as she saw that hot ass piece of meat standing at her counter nibbling on a cookie. As Lee scanned over him body she had to remind herself to breath or she would pass out, after she had her eye full she closed the door slowly and sat on her bed to catch her breath. Lee finally stood ready to exit her room, she grapped her purse and some extra lip gloss and picked up her keys just as Thomas was putting down the phone.
“Thank you for letting me use your phone, and-”
“ oh don’t worry about it – it was no problem, feel free to ask me when ever you need it” Lee cut in
“Your friend called she said to tell you to hurry your ass up, she has something to discuss with you.”
Lee tried to stifle a laugh as she said “oh I could imagine what”
Lee escourted Thomas to the door, and waved goodbye as he walked down the hall. When Thomas went into his apartment Lee leaned against the door and sighed “whew what a hunk.”
