Chapter 2 In the mind of a Predator! / Two weeks to School!

He walked by the house once in a while knowing what he would glimpse, the murdering of women, children, even men. He knew they where Vampire, all they did was prey on the weak for fun. Kind of what he did. He laughed at this thought and got a few stares, in which he just smiled kindly and walked on. He headed down to the store and bought something to eat, he didn\'t like the weakness of his body but if he couldn\'t hunt, then what would happen! He would have no fun or anything to do. He walked to the park as it was getting dark and waited as they came out. A woman and a vampire boy where making out by a tree, the boy started to lick her neck and joke around teasing her until he killed her. His luck ran out though the minute he spotted them, the Hunter as the tabloids called him killed the boy and watched the woman scream.
\"I\'ve just saved your life from a murderer and your not going to thank me? He\'s killed thirty woman just like this! Taken them out to the park to joke around and tease you then, to watch you plead!\" He waited till his words sank in, she fell to the ground on her knees and sobbed. When he kneeled down to her she flinched, he watched her and pitied her, she was actually in love with him....Too bad. He whispered into her ear.
\"I did you a favour! Now do me one, tell the newspaper that the Hunter doesn\'t like the name they\'ve given him and that he want\'s to be called the Vampyrum Slayrus! In short Slayer! Did you get all of that?\" She nodded he grinned, just to make sure he wrote it on a piece of paper, in blood. He walked away as the sun came up and the scum turned to ashes. She watched and shrieked, at least the police will know what happened to his other victims he laughed, now back to his day job.

~Early that morning~

She woke every morning at 6:00 to go out in the garden and feed her pets. She was surprised when her Uncle was actually up. She walked over to the breakfast table and set up her dishes, he watched her intently.
\"Do you do this every morning?\" He asked as she tied her hair up and put on a cooks apron. She smiled slightly and made them both breakfast. He looked up from his paper to see her arrange the food on the plate just right and serve it.
\"You make your own breakfast?\" She smiled widely at his surprise.
\"I clean up my own messes, as well as my rooms. I tell the other maids that I might decide to have a snack if i catch them in my room....\" His eyes went bigger and she laughed.
\"Uncle i uh......wanted to ask you a question.....\" She looked nervous, he would have given his foster daughter the whole world if he could, so why was she nervous?
\"I want to go to school!\" She finally said, it took a few minutes to realize what she was asking.
\"No! Definatly not, you know i can\'t let you! It would......\" He started to say, but she interrupted him by running out of the kitchen and going up to her room, where she locked her door and sat on her bed.
\"Aw Shit!\" He threw his paper down and ran after her abandoning his breakfast. He came up and tried to open the door, it was locked. \'Why did i give her a room with a lock?\' he knocked lightly on the door.
\"Sweetie! Please, you know why i can\'t let you go to regular school! Don\'t you?\" He hoped this might help, as it so happens it did, he heard a click and the door opened. He walked in and she was on her bed with her chin on her knees looking at him with wet eyes. He came over and sat on the bed.
\"I\'ll see what i can do....\" He said smiling as her eyes grew brighter and her smile grew like wildfire.
\"You mean it?\" He nodded \"Thank you Uncle!!!!!\" She launched at him with a big hug.

Outside of the mansion looking in the window he smiled, this would make his plans easier! He thought as he quickly left the premises.
he went out to his car parked outside, he would have to find out what school she went to and what her classes where.

\"Yes i would like to enrol my niece...........No i am her guardian, her parents where killed. Her name is Shaylawna Xzalling! Yes of course, of course. You will send the forms? Thank you, good-bye!\" Click! He put the telephone back on its hook and smiled at his niece who was playing a game of chess with one of his friends, she was kicking his ass too.
\"So shall i save you from an ass wooping? And you from a boring game of chess?\" He said as it was his friend Gerald\'s move. Gerald smiled and forfeited.
\"Sorry Shay! Your just too good at this, you beat me every time! i never should have taught you! You learn to fast\" He smiled and patted her on the head, she pretended to pout then walked over and sat in her favourite chair. Her Uncle smiled and walked over to her.
\"I have an announcement! Our Shaylawna, is going to be enrolled into a regular high school!\" He watched as everyone in the rooms mouth\'s dropped, only five people where smiling Shaylawna, Layne, Lisa, Gerald, and Carol. The rest where too shocked to even smile! Some of them finally regained there senses to either smile and nod and the other looked disapproving.
\"What\'s going to happen? Worst case scenario is she probably won\'t get the system for a while. You start in two weeks!\" She couldn\'t wait!

~Two weeks later~

It was so hard to wait for those two weeks, she and Lisa went out everyday and bought school clothes, supplies, and of course books!
The day was finally there, she woke up at 6:00 as usual and looked at the calendar. As she marked off the day she noticed that it was Monday and it was her first day of school!
\"Yes!\" She got ready and put on her ivy green skirt that went down to her knees. She picked out a nice soft cloud blue long sleeved shirt, then after brushing her hair decided to leave it long and just tied her forest green and sky blue ribbon in front to hold back her hair.
She packed up everything she needed and went downstairs. When she went down she glanced at the door, then snapped her head back to it in surprise! Over top the door was a banner that said \"Have a good first day!\" She looked and there was everyone, breakfast was made and everything. She ate and hugged her uncle.
\"They said that they would give you a guide, and that if you have any questions to go to the front desk.\" He smiled as they drove there in her Uncles limo.
As they came to the school all the students stopped and stared as the limo pulled up and her uncle got out. He held out his hand to her and she took it, he helped her out of the car and she followed him to the office.
\"I\'m here to drop off my niece Shaylawna!\" He was smiling like there was no tomorrow. As the woman at the front desk and him talked she walked around the office and saw a girl crying. She went over and stood beside the girl, she bent down and put a hand on her shoulder.
\"What is the matter?\" She asked kindly truly wanting to help.
\"i just lost everything, the girls threw my backpack away! My classes start soon!\" She was in a dilemma! Shaylawna thought for a moment then remembered she had taken her extra back pack with all of her notebooks in it!
\"I\'ll be right back!\" She ran out to the car and brought the girl the backpack. The girl looked up, saw the second backpack and looked puzzled.
\"Why would you help me? I\'m the biggest nerd ever, or at least thats what i heard....\" She looked down and looked really sad! So Shaylawna then and there decided to become her friend!
\"Whats your name?\" She asked as she helped the girl off the floor.
\"My name is Cat! Short for Catherine Elizabeth Samuel!\" She smiled as she saw that the girl was unlike the others. She wore a long skirt instead of a tiny one that didn\'t even go past their asses and wore a long sleeved shirt instead of a tank top.
\"My name is Shay! Short for Shaylawna Karen Xzalling!\" She said proudly with her chin up. They both laughed. Shaylawna looked at Kat and saw that she was wearing long pants that covered the top of her sneakers, a t-shirt that had an anime picture on it with Japanese writing. She had short reddish brown hair that she tied back in a ponytail. Kat was looking through the backpack and saw a second copy of her time table.
\"Hey we\'re in all the same classes!\"
\"Shaylawna! Shaylawna where did you get too!?\" He walked over and saw that she had given away her second backpack. She had put that together just in case, it had proved itself handy!
\"Who is your friend dear?\" He walked over and the girl looked at him with wide eyes.
\"I\'m Kat. Nice to meet you.\" She looked kinda nervous, so Shay decided to do something about it.
\"Uncle! We have the same classes, can she be my guide?\" He smiled and nodded, she hugged him and Kat started to feel better, he seemed nice.
\"We have to go the first bell rang!\" She grabbed her hand and off they ran. There first class was art.
\"Your lucky i left the door open! You made it just in time!\" The teacher looked at Shaylawna and looked confused.
\"Who are you?\" For the first time she was scared of a bunch of humans, they where all staring at her as if she were well a vampire! She squared her shoulders and said.
\"My name is Shaylawna Xzalling........I\'m your new student.\" The teacher looked at her list and saw that the name wasn\'t there she asked one of the students to call and ask if it was the right class. The students reply was yes, she was in the class.
\"You can sit by Kat, now pay attention! we are finishing the sketches of our partners today!\" She walked over to Shay and Kat. \"You two can work together!\" She walked around the class and talked to some of the students as Kat looked in the bag and took out the charcoal pencils. She asked what they where for and Shay told her that they where for sketching and that it was her favourite thing to do. She started her picture of Kat and went silent as she worked. She ignored the class and even forgot they were there, she finished and put the end of the pencil in her mouth after blowing the excess charcoal away and just sat there. She only remembered the class when her picture was pulled off the table by Kat.
\"Wow! This is excellent!\" She held it up and saw herself sitting on her stool trying to draw her picture. The teacher had just gotten to them when Kat held it up and looked at it. The teacher asked to see it and looked at Shay, she nodded and the teacher looked at it, she was astounded! The teacher couldn\'t find anything to fix on it. Anything else and it would be to real for paper!
\"You have a gift! I am going to put this on the board so you can all learn from it!\' She walked up and pinned it to the middle of the board so that everyone could see it.
When art was over they went to history class. With the class finished they ate lunch. They both sat down and talked about their next classes English and Gym
They went in and as before she got introduced to the class.
\"I thought that instead of all the boring stuff we\'ve been doing lately we might do poems today, free style and use whatever you want as your subject. Start on that now please!\" She walked over to her desk and sat down marking papers. When Shay was finished this is what it looked like:

\"Is everyone finished? Good, now everyone is to read there poem in front of the class.\" Some of the girls who had been in Shays art class where jealous of her. So the leader Sharon put her hand up.
\"Sharon, you want to go first?\" She put her hand down and stood up.
\"No, i wanted to make a suggestion, How about the new girl?\' Everyone seemed to agree, though she really didn\'t want to.
\"Do you want to come up here?\" The teacher asked knowing that it was her first time ever setting foot in a school.
\"I would like to.\" She walked up in front of the class and read her poem, everyone listened and a few people liked it.
\"I would like to say something else!\' She looked at the teacher and the teacher although puzzled nodded.
\"This is not a poem i made up.....\" She didn\'t get to finish before Sharon stood up.
\"Thats plagiarism! you can\'t take other peoples written work!\" The other students nodded.
\"it isn\'t written work!\" She said as they quieted down \"My mother and father used to sing me this poem to me when i went to sleep! I read it to you in their honour......\" She was kind of angry but needed to keep that anger under control so she breathed deep and sighed. She went back to her seat and listened to the others poems.
When English was over they had Gym.
\"Oh no! Not Gym.... I absolutely hate gym!\" Kat stated as they headed to the gym.
\"Hurry up and get changed. We are starting a new unit today!\"
\"Come on Shay I\'ll show you where to change.\" They went into the change rooms and started to get ready. Kat wore another t-shirt that went past her hips and shorts that went to her knees. Shay put on some short pants, the ones that go a little past your knees. A nice fitting t-shirt that went to her waist and brand new sneakers. some of the girls who were in the popular girls group wore short shorts and small baby t\'s. The rest wore gym pants and regular shorts with t-shirts. They all filed out of the change rooms and waited to see what the teacher was going to show them.
\"We are starting self defense training today! Boys you line up on the black line in front of the mats and girls stay where you are. Jon, you can be my assistant! Now put your arm over my shoulder like your going to grab me alright.\" Jon did as he was told and braced himself.
\"I am going to teach you how to throw somone. Brace yourself Jon!\" He grabbed Jon\'s arm and put his body kind of under him as he pulled with his arms he slid his foot under him. Jon went right over the teachers head! He landed softly on the mat and got up.
\"You hurt?\" he looked up and shook his head now smiling.
\"Alright get into pairs\" he waited as they did then noticed that Shay hadn\'t joined in.
\"You need a partner for this exercise, Shay is it?\"
\"Yes my name is Shay and...... I can\'t do this exercise sir.....\" She looked down at her feet shyly.
\"Are you afraid to do this?\" He asked kindly.
\"No I just don\'t want to hurt somone....\" She looked down again. The gym teacher name Mr. Corey smiled.
\"Just try it I\'ll be here to help! How about pairing up with Tor!\" He took her to where the boy was.
\"Tor, I want you to help her she\'s new, her name is Shay.\" He looked at her and grinned a devilish grin.
\"Of course Mr. Corey! So your name is Shay nice to meet you I\'m Tor!\"
\"Likewise Tor.\"
\"Everyone into positions! On my whistle!\" He waited until they where all ready.
She took the position and waited trying to stay calm. All of a sudden she felt somthing pinch her but and heard Tor laughing.
\"Go!\" When the whistle blew she threw the guy with some of her might and anger, he landed on the other side of the gym! The teacher was stunned, she flushed and looked down ashamed that she threw him so hard.
\"Um, I\'m sorry i threw him so hard......\" She apologised as Tor got up and winced at the pain in his hip.
\"Don\'t worry I\'m fine nothing broken.....\" He was sent to the nurses office anyway.
\"Shay, can you come here please\" She walked over to him and stood with her head down. \"Why did you throw him so hard......and how did you do it?\"
\"He, um, pinched my bum\" she said embaraced. \"I understand, but how did you throw him so far?\"
\"I learned Jujitsu, Karate, and Tykwondo, my uncle aranged it.....\" She blushed again. He just stared.
\"You don\'t have to do any more gym for the time being, you can go get changed and sit on the benches.\"
\"Alright Sir....\" She started to walk off, as she did she heard everyone whispering about her and decided she didn\'t like her gym class anymore.
