Defiance
Alex and Rae materialized in townsquare. The city was right under Olympus and was frequent to godly visits so the sudden appearence of the two was no shock to the citizens.
\"\'Bout time you two got here.\" A voice said from behind them.
They turned to see a woman with shoulder length black hair, caramel skin and hazel eyes standing there with a look of sheer bordom on her face. Alex smiled, \"Nice to see you too, Cyn.\" She said.
The woman only snorted in reply. \"So, we gonna get on with this little outting or what?\" She asked.
Rae smiled and took her place between her two older sisters, grabbing both their hands so they couldn\'t wander off somewhere.
The three were often seen together. Out and about on some outing Rae had drug them into. The people knew them well and offered gifts to them as they went along, hoping to get on the goddesses good sides no doubt. Cynthia, and Rae would politly accept them and send them back to their rooms on Olympus, with smiles and blessings, while Alex would snort and threaten to kill their livestock if one more human got in her face. That seemed to work. The humans would speak to her sisters and bother them and she got to slip off for some alone time, and possibly a drink.
Alex found herself in a bar, nice place kinda drafty though and rank with the smell of humans. She sat herself down at the bar, and as she expected the barkeep abandoned his other customers to tend to her every wish. \"Hello, your godship.\" She loved being called that, \"How are you this pleasent morn?\"
\"Thirsty.\" She replied flatly, \"Fetch me an ale, and I might not be forced to kill you.\" She said in her deep voice.
His eyes widened and he nodded quickly, \"Yes, your godship.\" he said before scurrying off to get her drink.
Alex chuckled deep in her throat, and shook her head.
\"Ya know just because you\'re a god doesn\'t mean you can be rude.\" A deeper voice than hers caught her attention.
She turned her head to see a young man sitting next to her at the bar. His eyes fixed on the mug of ale infront of him. He had wavey black hair and light brown skin. He was muscular, she could tell, his defined arms were left bare by the leather vest he wore. His finger lightly traced the brim of the haft emty glass. \"What?\" She asked, taken a back by the simple fact that a human got up the balls to talk to her especially that way.
\"I said,\" He turned to her, revealing the brightest green eyes she\'d ever seen. \"Just because you\'re a god, doesn\'t mean you can be rude.\" he repeated for her and Alex couldn\'t help but watch his lips a he spoke.
She rose an eyebrow, \"Do you know who you\'re talking to?\" She asked.
\"Alexa, the goddess of war, may all tremble at her feet.\" He mocked her.
She didn\'t stand for mockery but she kindof liked it from him. \"What?\"
\"I know who you are.\" he said. \"I know what you do, and I know what you can do. And frankly,\" he paused to turn back to his drink, then continued. \"I\'m not impressed.\"
She found herself at a loss for words for the first time in her long life. Her eyebrows knitted, as she watched him pay the barkeep and get up.
He turned to her before he left just to let her see that there was no fear in his emerald eyes.
When he left, Alex turned to the barkeep, \"Who was that?\" She asked.
\"Oh, that was James, your godship, he\'s a warrior.\" He answered. As he spoke she let her eyes drift to the doorway.
A little smile came to her lips as she shook her head. \"Son of a bitch.\" She said quietly and gulped down the ale and left without paying.
\"Um, okay, I guess I\'ll write you up a tab then.\"
