Two hours later Daniel was sitting in the nearly empty auditorium going over
his notes. Some of the new comers had turned out quite promising. Quite a few
of them had received call-backs along with almost all of the returning actors.
He was mulling over his considerations for the lead parts.

Gwendolyn, the tall, elegant girl, fit the aristocratic look and personality
he needed for Mme. DeLouis. She commanded the
audience’s attention when on stage. Gwen’s appearance also made her a great
Madeleine. The only problem was her attitude. She had a problem with anyone
being put above her.

Chloë ,
on the other hand, would make a very interesting Madeleine. She had the figure
and had no problem displaying it. She could play the part of a spoiled brat but
he preferred her in the subordinate roles. If only he could convince her
girlfriend, Eva, it would be okay for her to go onstage in the maid’s uniform.
He grinned and thought I’m sure she could think of a thing or two to ease
Eva’s mind.

Spencer, one of the new comers to the stage, had a very commanding stage
presence. He could not see her as the maid, she did
not have the correct figure. Daniel wasn’t sure she made the perfect Mme. class=SpellE>DeLouis either, she was not reserved enough. Perhaps
Clarice would be a good role for her.

Tyler was a good actor but not
phenomenal. He would probably end up as Mr. DeLouis
and an understudy to Jean. His good looks and charm were enough to make him a
believable blue blood in England
during the time period.

Grant made the perfect son. He fit the playboy look and attitude. He was
raised in a rich New England family and knew proper
aristocratic behaviour. The only problem would be
getting Chloë and him to make a passionate love scene
look realistic. He would also make a good Matthis but
he had someone else in mind.

Ian, the gorgeous brunette, had really amazed everyone. He got up on stage
to read the love scene with Gwen and the sparks flew. He was tall and fit and
those eyes…Jesus Daniel get a grip on yourself! He
was just a guy, but what a guy. He looked incredible in that tight black
turtleneck and had such grace. It’s not everyday you are faced with a man like
that.

Daniel pulled himself away from his musings to get back to casting. Ian
would be a good Jean but he would much rather see him as detective class=SpellE>Matthis. He had a way of speaking that made everyone
listen. All of the girls, well most of them, and a good number of the boys were
drooling by the time he got off of the stage.

Daniel groaned as he realized the one hitch in his casting of Ian, James.
James, a friend of his for years, was expecting the part of Matthis.
This came from the fact that James was the best actor he had until now. He
could adapt to any part and was handsome. He also fancied Daniel. James
reasoned that since Daniel gave him all of the leads the feelings were mutual. Shit
will hit the fan when James realizes he isn’t the lead.

Daniel looked over the notes for the others he had selected for call-backs.
None of them were phenomenal but it never hurt to have a few extras on hand in
case someone couldn’t make it. He just hoped they wouldn’t be too disappointed
when they were not given a part.

He briefly looked over the forms for those who wanted to work backstage.
Eva, Chloë
’s
girlfriend, had signed up for stage manager again. She had done a
great job on all of the shows since she began working with him her senior year
in High School. She also helped to keep Chloë in line
when she was in one of her moods. Jordan, a friend of Eva and class=SpellE>Chloë and a major in fashion design, had been convinced to
come do costumes for the last production. Everyone had fallen in love with her
sense of humour and wild flair. She had to come back
for this show or there would be rioting.

As he left the auditorium Daniel had to smile. Another production was
starting and he was going to enjoy it immensely.
