A walk in the rain
This stroy starts on a rainy April day. Bennie Totopeless was not having a good day at all. Ban was supposed to pick Bennie up when he got out of detention. Bennie had broken a window the day before. He wasn\'t surprised to see Ban wasn\'t waiting for him. This wasn\'t this first time Ban had kept Bennie waiting. He only waited a few mintues before he started walking home.
The skies didn\'t open up until Bennie was ten mintues away from the school. When the rain started to pour down on him he cursed loudly. Rain was just what he needed.
His normally light brown hair had turned to a near black color. The curled tips had straightened out and were hanging down in front of his face. Rain was soaking through his bookbag and was ruining everything inside. He didn\'t care about the books. All he cared about was his CD player. Rick had just bought it for im and he didn\'t want it to get damaged.
Bennie was going to kill Ban for sure. Rick and Greg were both going to have to hold him back. He was running as fast he could. He could feel the cold water getting into his sneakers and he could hear the rubber of his sneakers slapping the side walk.
The house he lived in was comming into view. He walked onto the wet front lawn. A glance at the driveway told him that neither Rick nor Ban were home. Greg\'s SUV was parked in the garage. He walked up the lawn and onto the porch.
The rain stopped hitting him on the porch. Bennie gave himself a shake and droplets of water flew around him. It didn\'t help much. In fact it seemed to make it worse because it made his hair get in his face more. He opened the door and walked into the hallway.
He hung his jacket and bookbag on the coat hanger. Bennie kicked off his shoes so hard that one banged against the table next to the door. Apawn closer enspection Bennie saw that there was a dint in one of the legs. His dad was going to kill him.
\"This day keeps getting better and better,\" he said to himself.
\"What\'s wrong with you?\" Greg\'s voice came from the living room.
\"Where the hell is Ban?\" Bennie asked ignoring his brother\'s question.
\"I don\'t know,\" Greg answered. \"I got back about an hour ago. Dad and Ban weren\'t here when I got here. What\'s the big deal?\"
Bennie didn\'t answer that question. He simply walked into the living room. Greg was sitting on the couch looking over one of his law books.
\"What happened to you?\" Greg asked when the soaking wet Bennie walked into his view.
\"Ban didn\'t show up to pick me up from detention,\" Bennie explained leaning against the wall.
\"So I had to walk home in the rain.\"
\"Do you think kicking that table made things better?\" his brother asked going back to his work.
\"I know it made things worse,\" Bennie gave in with a sigh. \"I know that table means a lot to Dad. I didn\'t break it but he is still going to have my ass for this one.\"
\"Oh yes,\" Greg said with a small laugh.
Bennie didn\'t see what was so funny. Greg laughing made him want to kick something else but he knew that wouldn\'t make anything better.
\"I\'m going to go change and get some sleep,\" Bennie said. \"I didn\'t want to be awake when Dad gets home. If he doesn\'t notice the damage will you come wake me up. I still got to give Ban a piece of my mind. This is the last time he makes me walk home.\"
\"Sure thing Bennie.\"
Bennie nodded and walked off to his room upstairs.
