the family is yours
At the exact same time that the two brothers were screaming alert, a girl sat in a small dark room, ignoring their shouting. Liana was her name, and she felt alone and scared. Why did she have to be dragged into this? It wasn’t her fault that the lone group who would pick her off of the street were vampire hunters. What good luck that was. But still, she was grateful for their sheltering, for if they had not taken her in, she would still be out on the street, cold and shivering in the deserted alleys. Liana had traveled from a small town, miles and miles away, getting help every so often from passing cars, until one driver told her that he would go no further. He told her to get out and walk the rest of the way, but he also gave her a warning; the nearest town was dangerous and cursed, no one walked the streets, it was deserted. Liana accepted this warning, but really took no note of it, for she was a brave soul. Fifteen years old and she could have conquered anything. This journey lead to where she was now, in “the cave” as the group called it, their basic hideout and living space. The driver had been right, no people walked the streets of Eionville, day or night. It was empty of all human life, or so she thought. In her two night stay sleeping on the alley floor, Liana sometimes saw a flash of crimson red, here and there, things that looked strangely like ties. Scared, but determined, she slept on without food or water. She had no notion of where the next town was, so she just was going to let herself die. No one wanted her. But then Sonny came.
He looked very sinister at first, long black ravens wings hair, tight ragged jeans, ripped coat, bandana around his mouth and nose, and a long dark stripe painted across his eyes. Not the kind of person you would want to meet on the streets of a deserted town. But then he helped Liana, picking her starving body up and caring her back to the cave, where she was fed and clothed properly. Of course, clothed properly meant that she had to wear “the family” uniform. Same as Sonny’s but different form fitting for a women’s body. She even got her own personal bandanna. Woopee. She was explained the rules by Sonny, and introduced to the others in the group. First of all, there was Absinthisine. Besides having such an odd name, he was the joker. The clown. Sin (also an odd nickname) always pissed Sonny off by not taking things seriously, fooling around with weapons and talking about sex in the most dire situations. But you could tell that Sonny still like him a lot. Liana liked him too, he was the one she could actually turn to if things got really bad. Then of course there was Lauries. Even though Sonny was the leader of the group, Lauries stood by his side like a wise man, except for the fact that he was the same age as everyone else. Following in wise ness was Patrickeo, smart but overly cautious. It was a great dispute whether he was Irish or Italian, because of his red hair, but seemingly European name. Liana was quite unnerved by him and always thought that he would be the first one to turn on her.
There were two other girls in the group Senna, and Bella, twins to be exact. They were very distant and never really talked to anyone except Patrickeo and Nikolai, their supposed “lovers”. Liana could hear them going at it too all the time because her room was right next to theirs. Nikolai was of Russian roots or so he said, very handsome and very quiet. The opposite of Nikolai was Stefan. Stefan, Sonny’s fifteen year old brother was loud and rambunctious, best friends with Sin. Liana liked him a lot because he made things in such a weird place feel like home. Last, but to his arrogant opinion, certainly not least, was Sonny. As soon as she talked to him in the cave for the first time, she was annoyed by him. Sonny was proud and snotty if you will, always thinking that he himself was better than everyone. He corrected you on the way to hold your knife, the way to run, even the way to tie your bandanna. Liana was certain that Sonny Boulavardo had no human emotions whatsoever. But back to the present situation. By the high volume of the shouting, Liana could tell there was something horribly wrong. And of course, it had to do with the Ghosts. She was not a vampire hunter, and she would never be one, regardless of her present situation. Suddenly Absinthisine burst through the privacy of her door.
“ come on Liana, didn’t you here Sonny screaming his ass off?”
Liana got off the bed and casually walked to the door.
“I’m coming whats wrong anyway?”
“the ghosts are attacking”
“here, you mean the cave?”
“yes, now get going, Stefan is fucking bleeding to death!”
She grabbed the knife at her waist and pushed through Sin. She had to go find Stefan and help whether or not Sonny the ruler needed her to fight or not.
