Chapter 1

Chapter : 1

Luindaeion hummed to himself while the morning sun glistened on his skin. He looked up to catch a glimpse of the sky, but all he could see were the leaves of the maples and oaks that gathered near the brook. Hearing the sound of feet traveling along the overgrown path, curiosity got the better of him as he carefully leaped to top of a birch tree. He moved quietly along the trees until he came to the path. The trees roots overcrowded the trail, and mud from last night’s rainstorm made the path difficult for travelers.

“We can rest here.” The leader of the group announced, his black wavy hair dangled in his face, covering his icy eyes. Luindaeion climbed down the tree for a better look. He noticed that their food supply seemed low, and they hadn’t had the chance to shave or bath, but the beauty of the leader clearly stood out. Luindaeion wondered to himself if this man could have elven blood. The elf of the party caught a glimpse of Luindaeion in the tree and shot an arrow at him. The arrow nicked Luindaeion\'s right shoulder and the slender elf fell down from the tree.

“Legandir, you fool!” Shouted the dark haired man. “He’s just a boy and one of your own!” He ran to the side of Luindaeion, whose eyes were wide with fright.

“I’m not going to hurt you, you needn\'t worry.” Whispered the human as he gently rubbed Luindaeion’s shoulder. He untied the elf’s silk shirt and slipped it off his shoulders.

“James, I’m sorry. I thought it might have been an…”

“I don’t need your excuses, just find me something to mend his wound.” James brought a hand up to Luindaeion’s face and gently touched his skin. Luindaeion twitched and tried to squirm away from him, but the human wrapped his arms around his slender waist and pinned him down with his legs.

“Your hurt, and I don’t want you to run away from me.” A smile spread across his lips, revealing his perfectly white teeth.

“What’s your name?” He asked in a soft voice, as Legandir brought over bandages and water. He began cleaning the wound, but it had already started to heal. Legandir looked around the woods and noticed they seemed strangely familiar.

“James?” He called softly. “I recognize this place. Do you mind if I look around?”

“As you wish, but hurry back.” James ordered, and looked back down at Luindaeion.

“If I let you up will you run from me?” He looked into the elf\'s frightened eyes, waiting for an answer.

“No.” He spoke quietly and was relieved when James got off him, and took his hand in his to pull him up. As he got up, Luindaeion stumbled and fell back into James\' arms.

“I take it you like being held.” The human grinned at the elf and stood him up. Luindaeion’s face reddened and he sat down, leaning against the tree.

“My name is Luindaeion.” He said calmly and brushed his black hair behind his ears.

“I’m James Francis.” He smiled and shook the hand of the elf.

“If you’d like I could try to bring you some food, or lead to you to the brook to rest.” Luindaeion said as he rose up, his hand still tangled with James’s.

“If you’d be so kind to do so.” He said, kissing Luindaeion’s hand. Another of James\' party, a tall, large man, sighed and rolled his eyes, seeming a bit impatient. Luindaeion glance at the rest of the crew, all of them were human except for Legandir. Luindaeion slid his hand away from James and walked into the woods at a slow pace. The humans glanced around to see birds and deer gathered near them, staring at them. The trees even seemed to be watching them, scanning their every move. They could hear the relaxing sound of the brook splashing against the rocks and soon they could see sight of a small waterfall. Luindaeion sat down on a large, flat stone and watch the humans removed their gear from the horses and themselves. Legandir walked to where they were seated and stood near his leader.

“Yes?” James asked in an irritated voice.

“I\'ve spoken to the Elders. They say you\'re welcome to stay, and are welcomed to feast with them tonight, but they will take our weapons and horses to a safe place.” Legandir spoke in a soft voice, scanning over James face. His eyes stopped at James\' lips and he bit his own, quickly glancing away.

“Well, lead the way.” James said while petting his black horse’s nose.

“They said they’d be here in a few moments to help us.” He walked over to Luindaeion. “I’m terrible sorry about shooting you. You can never be too careful with creatures about.” He spoke to him kindly.

“No need for apologies. You will find creatures here, but none you need to be afraid of.” He smiled at him and bowed politely.

“Since my services aren’t need, I’ll be heading home. I take it I will see all of you at dinner.” Luindaeion started to walk away.

“I pray that I can see your beauty once more. Thank you for your kindness, Luindaeion.” James whispered softly. Luindaeion blushed, but just ignored him and walked casually back towards his home. He saw a glimpse of a faerie go by him but focused on the ground under his feet. A small fox trailed behind him and when he reached his door he gently patted the fox. He glanced around to make sure the humans hadn’t followed him and slipped into the door of his room. His friend Mortarmaien was sitting on his bed, her red curls flowing ever which way.

“Where have you been?” She asked, standing up. She wore a green long dress which flowed perfectly around her slim body.

\"You smell of injury.\" Mortarmaien smirked. \"And humans.\" She pulled his shirt off his shoulder to reveal his new scar.

“You should have that healed properly.” She said, turning to rummage through his things.

“I got hit with an arrow, nothing big.” He sighed and sat down in his white chair. The cushions formed around his body and he rested his eyes for a moment.

“What\'s this?” Mortarmaien grinned, holding a note in her hand. “My dearest Luindaeion...” She read aloud, giggling madly. Luindaeion stood up abruptly and ripped the note from her fingers.

“If you don’t mind!” He said and pushed her away.

“Who’s it from? It looks like Envinyatar\'s handwriting.” She smacked him lightly on the back. “I knew my brother liked you.” She giggled again and quickly ran out the door.

“Girls.” Luindaeion sighed before falling onto his bed.

Hours later, Luindaeion awoke to someone blowing gently in his ears. Assuming it was Envinyatar, he bravely pulled him in for a kiss. Envinyatar’s mouth tasted of fruit and melons. He opened his mouth for a better taste of his sweet kiss.
Luindaeion broke the kiss to see Envinyatar’s reaction, but instead saw a human smirking at him with lustful, icy eyes. Luindaeion gasped with shock and leaped off the bed.

“What are you doing in my room?” Luindaeion spoke quickly, in a whisper. James grinned as his eyes studied every detail of Luindaeion’s body.

“You didn’t seem to care a moment ago.” James said his voice seductive and calm. He rushed over to where Luindaeion was standing and pinned him against the wall, his body holding him in place firmly. Luindaeion could feel his erection pushing into him and tried to slip from his grip.

“I know you want me too, I can feel you.” James spoke as his lips brushed around the young elf’s ear. He heard a knock at the door and Luindaeion sighed with relief. James immediately backed away from him and sat down in the chair. Envinyatar poked his head from behind the door.

“Just seeing if you were awake. One of the humans was looking for you. I see he already found you though. See you later.” He said scanning the room before closing the door. Luindaeion uses this as his chance to get out of the room and into the hall. He saw Envinyatar in the hallway and ran into his arms with a strong embrace. Envinyatar ran his fingers through the younger elf’s black strands.

“What’s with the hug?” Envinyatar asked, curious.

“Nothing, I just wanted one. Is it time for dinner yet?” Luindaeion asked without ever lifting his head from Envinyatar’s strong warm chest.

“Almost, I’ll take you to the dinning hall if you’d like.” Luindaeion did not want to go to dinner, but he let Envinyatar guide him to his chair. Mortarmaien was already there waiting patiently for the food to start coming. She smiled at her brother then giggled when she saw their hands weaved together. Luindaeion blushed and quickly sat down across the table from her. He watched the members of James’ group come and take their seat at the table as well. Unfortunately for Luindaeion, James\' spot was two down from Mortarmaien’s, within glancing distance. His father sat down next to him, Elladan, taking the head seat, and his mother brushed his hair back before taking her seat as well. Mortarmaien glanced at Legandir beside her, and when his gaze met hers she quickly turned away, blushing.

“I have never looked upon beauty such as yours. Tell me, angel, what is your name?” Legandir asked in a kind voice.

“Me?” She asked, quickly looking around to see if maybe he was speaking to someone else. She looked back at him and the depths of his emerald eyes memorized her.

“Mortarmaien.” She finally said, shaky. He took her hand in his and gently kissed her soft milky skin.

“Legandir” He grinned at her and turned his gaze to James walking into the room. Luindaeion look at James with a sharp glare and James grinned before sitting down, his eye’s never leaving Luindaeion’s face.

“Welcome to Isarandel. I hope you will enjoy your stay here.” Spoke Elladan in a kind, humble voice. Luindaeion’s father introduced everyone at the table to the new guests before the food was brought out.
Luindaeion noticed that Envinyatar always took good care of him. When his goblet was empty he’d be quick to refill it, and the young prince’s plate was never bare. For the first time, Luindaeion realized that Envinyatar loved him

Luindaeion tried to focus on his meal, but was always aware of James\' eyes on him. He felt as if James could see his every thought, and he became increasingly nervous, spilling his drink, blushing for no reason. He glanced around the table, amazed that no one else seemed to notice. But Mortarmaien had eyes only for Legandir as they chatted quietly, his parents and the rest discussed current events, and Envinyatar, while noticing Luindaeion\'s discomfort, seemed to think that the young elf was flustered from Envinyatar\'s attentions, rather than the human\'s.

After dinner was over Elladan and Malaithwen retired to the library, while the other elves went outside to sing and celebrate. Luindaeion found his way to the bathhouse thinking water from the hot spring would calm his nerves. Once he reached the room he grabbed a towel from the draw and quickly slipped off his clothes. The room was filled with steam and the beautiful elf’s skin glittered from the droplets of water collecting on his skin. He sat down in the tub gasping with shock as the warm water hit his cold body. He closed his eyes, enjoying a moment of piece, allowing himself to collect his thoughts. Envinyatar’s image was trapped in his head and he couldn’t help wishing he were here to share his peace. He loved looking into his navy eyes, always free to show him what was inside. A smile beamed on his face thinking about how smooth his hands were tangled with his and he could feel the butterflies overtaken his stomach. He heard the light footsteps come carelessly into the door and he glanced up to see Mortarmaien. She hadn’t noticed him and began to remove her dress but Luindaeion cleared his throat. Her eyes shot at him and once she could make out the image in the steam she sighed.

“Count on you to take over the bathroom.” She put her hands to her hips.

“I don’t care to look at a women’s body, so don’t flatter yourself and come in here.” He said before closing his eyes again.

“Oh yes, can’t forget.” She removed her dress and got into the water, her undergarments still on.

“I noticed that human staring at you.” She teased.

“Ay, but I saw your face redden the second your gaze met Legandir’s.” He grinned.

“Oh quiet you, I’m trying to pick on you, your not allowed to butt in.” She spoke with humor in her voice.

“He’s quite attractive.”

“So.” He said opening his eyes. Her arms were folded across her chest and she had a grin spread widely over her face.

“It seems as though, from the view here, thinking about him excites you.” She giggled madly.

“Shut up! I was thinking of someone else.” He pouted and got out of the bath, quickly wrapping the white towel around his waist.

“Whatever you need to tell yourself. He’s interesting in you and I know what can happen when someone looks at you.” She pushed on.

“No you don’t!” Again he pouted and ran out of the door. Mortarmaien shook her head and started to wash her long red hair. She heard her brother enter and knelt down to where she was.

“I need to talk to you about someone, no one is present, am I correct.” He whispered.

“Just me and my personalities, what ails you?” She matted her hair into a mess, bored with the water.

“I desire someone.” He paused, smiling. “I don’t know how to tell him, though I feel he already knows.” His sister jumped for joy.

“Gossip, go on tell me who it is.” She said in a happy voice tapping her fingernails on the tiled floor.

“Luindaeion.” He said in a calm tone.

“Oh, well everyone knows that.” She giggled.

“Just give him a big kiss and see his reaction. He’s a fiery elf so if he finds you attractive he’ll jump on you.” She laughed loudly.

“Just go!” She waved him away.

“I’d rather wait for tomorrow, give myself time to think.” He said and Mortarmaien rolled her eyes.

“Whatever, just shoo.” She said, her energy spilling from her.
