Invasion
A few days have passed since the battle at the Paseo\'s Mall and there hasn\'t been any fighting since then.

At the City of Miami police headquarters, Roslyn is looking at the case files of the Mall incident that are being labeled as a Robbery/Attempted murder. She reads trying to make sense of what happen. Carlos gets off the elevator with a report in his hand, reading it as he walks toward his desk. Carlos sits at his desk still reading the report. \"What do you got there?\" Roslyn asks
\"It\'s the lab findings on the tire marks.\" He said with a somewhat confused look on his face.
\"Well, what did they find?\"she asks.\"One set of tire marks came from a Ferrari enzo.\"
\"What? , A Ferrari Enzo doesn\'t that car cost like $70,000. Why would someone driving that car be doing at a shut down mall? Are they sure?\" Roslyn asks to make sure. \"Yeah, See the tire marks came from what the lab says The Z-rated Potenza Scuderia.\"Carlos explains.
\"But couldn\'t there be other cars with that tire?\" Roslyn still questioning the results.
\"Unlikely, The rubber for the tire is specially made from Bridgestone for this Ferrari Model only.\"
Carlos answered. \"Well, there can\'t be lots of those cars in Miami, lets get a dmv readout of that model and see how many pop up.\"She suggests. \"Already did, There are 20 in all of Miami and 10 are in our jurisdiction.\" He pulls out a list from the file with the address. \"Great, what about the watch and ninja stars, Lab get anything?\"she asks as she reads the lists. \"Lab Siad that something about the watch wasn\'t right so they sent it to an FBI crime lab it\'ll be a few day before we get a call back. But before they sent it they were able to figure out where it came from and guess what? its right by downtown\" Carlos grabs his car keys. \"I figured we go downtown and ask them about there weird little timepiece.\" Carlos stars walking to the elevator. \"Well wait for me.\"

Roslyn puts on her sunglasses and gets up from her desk to follow her partner. They both wait for the elevator, the doors open and both go in Carlos pushes ground floor button. The elevator moves down, stops and the doors open. They begin walking though the lobby and out the door. \"So I guess were taking your car?\" she asks fully knowing the answer.\"Of course\" he said as he walked towards his convertible Dodge Viper and hopped inside on the drivers seat. Roslyn opens the door and gets in the passenger side, looks at Carlos who is smiling as he revs up the car and shakes her head .\"What?, I love this car\" he said as they drove off the parking lot.
\"You come into some money on the stock market and what do you do with it, spend it on this car. Not on your pension or to get better lifestyle, But on this car.\" Roslyn explains.
\"It wasn\'t that expensive, your over exaggerating.\"Carlos adds as he hits 70 on the highway.
\"Really, so how much was this 2004 RSI700 Viper?\" Roslyn asks.
\"Only $109,695 up front.\" He said with a smirk on his face. \"Your crazy, So were are we heading too anyway?\"she wonders as they continue on the highway Carlos pulls out a piece of paper from his pocket. \"Well the lab guys said the watch came from a electronics company called...\" Carlos reads what\'s written on the paper. \"Bright Raven Technologies. It turns out also they do some government work.\" Just then roslyn realizes something. \"Did you say Bright Raven Technologies?\"she asks trying to make sure. \"yeah, why you know it?\"he asks her. \"Remember my boyfriend Gonlazo, Well that\'s his company. He runs it.\" she explains \"Well that\'s great, he can probably help us, Call him up. Carlos gives her a cell phone.



Meanwhile at the top floor of Bright Raven Technologies. Gonlazo sits at his desk in his office looking at a budget report while he speaks with someone on a conference call. \"You tell the Pentagon I refuse to improve there nuclear missiles, My company may build weapons but not ones that are specially designed to kill the innocent. I don\'t care how much money they have I wont be a part of it.\" Gonlazo says with a serious tone in his voice. \"Yes, Sir\" a man on the phone replies. Gonlazo hangs the phone up and continues looking at the budget report. The intercom on his phone buzzes, He pushes the speak switch. \"Yes, Maria is it my 3:00 appointment?\" he asks
\"No sir, it\'s a Roslyn Santos on line 3 says its very important.\" His assistant responds.
\"Put her though.\" Gonlazo wondering why she is calling now. \"Hello, Gonlazo?\" Roslyn\'s speaking though the intercom. Gonlazo closes his report to talk to her. \"Yes, what seems to the problem, Mi amor?\" he asks. \"Me and my partner are working on a case and we need your help identifying something we found at the crime scene. Will you help us? \" she asks in a firming tone.
Gonlazo fulling knowing what she was talking about, He is not worried or frighted.\"Of course, I be more than happy to help the police. Come right over\" he says with a smile. \"Thanks and when were there, its strictly business, okay?\" \"I understand, well see you in a while.\" Gonlazo pushes the hang up button on the phone, he get up from his desk and walks out of his office and as he\'s walking he tells his assistant \" Hold all calls, I\'ll be right back.\" His expression is neutral not angry but not joyful ether. Gonlazo continues to the elevator at the end of the hall. He reaches for the down button, but the door opened. An UPS delivery man bumps into him as gets off. He says nothing as he continues down the hall. Gonlazo gets in the elevator and pushes the 18th floor the elevator begin to descend and the numbers counting down. Gonlazo hears his cell phone ringing and pulls it out of his pocket with a very small and thin headset. He places the headset on and answers the call. \"Hello?\" a familiar voice speaks at the other end . \"Ahhh...Gonlazo, its been a few days since our minor debacle. How are you?\" His hands close into fists and tighten out of pure angry. \"Well cant complain.\" with a sarcastic yet angered tone. The elevator doors open and he exits to a hallway and begins walking to his left. He passes a sign with arrow pointing at the direction he\'s going, it reads: WEAPON TESTING AREA: LEVEL 5 CLEARANCE NEEDED. \"So what do you want, Anastasio?\" Gonlazo asks. \"Oh nothing I just to tell you, Get Ready.\" Anastasio replied with a wicked chuckle. \"What are you talking about?\" \"You\'ll see what im talking about soon enough.\" He laughs. Gonlazo hangs up and puts the cell phone away as he pulls out a access card from the other pocket and wipes it though a slot below a door handle. The door reads Defensive Systems Testing. He enters and closes the door behind him. A man with a white coat sits at a table looking in a microscope.
\"Michael, I need you to do something for me\" Gonlazo asks. The man in the lab coat looks up to his employer. \"Oh...Mr. Roldan, yes what is it i can do for you sir? \" \"I need you to..\" Gonlazo is interrupted by a loud explosion that shakes the whole building. They both lose there balance and fall to the floor from the extreme quake. \"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!\" Michael shouts in fear. \"I don\'t know, but im going to find out. Call 911, Now!\" Gonlazo runs out the door and to the elevator and sees the doors are open but the elevator isn\'t there he pokes his head into the shaft and looks up to see fire all over the shaft on the top floor. He run to the staircase and begins running up the stairs, continuing to the top floor there\'s smoke coming from under the door. He pulls the fire alarm next to the door. A alarm blares as people run out the building. He then kicks down the door, there is fire everywhere smoke in the ceiling. He begins searching for anyone left alive.

\"MARIA, MARIA....ANYONE ...!\" he shouts but no one responds, fearing the worst he runs to his office to find Maria. He walks towards her desk, She\'s there but fatally brunt. Gonlazo is shocked but he know he has to look for others before the fire intensify and spreads even more. He runs into his office, fire every where can hardly see though the smoke. \"Quite the heroic display Gonlazo.\" Once again a voice in darkness. \"ANASTASIO, YOUR MAD!\" Gonlazo yells in rage.
\"You still don\'t understand, this is a war and every time you and I fight is a battle.\" Anastasio replied with a smooth calm voice as if he didn\'t care about life. Gonlazo sees a shadowy figure though the smoke in his chair. \"And this is my strategy, attacking the place where you feel most secure, your fortress. I must say it was easier than I thought.\"

Across the street Roslyn and Carlos pulled up next to the building and notice hundreds of people running out the door, looked up at the fire flapping wildly at top floor. Roslyn fearing the worst runs into the building. Carlos runs after her. \"WAIT\" he yells and grabs her arm. \"it\'s too dangerous.\" Roslyn breaks free of his hold and runs to the stairwell \"I DON\'T CARE!\" Roslyn shouts as she begins running up the stairs. \"Damn it, stubborn\" Carlos says under his breath as he follows his partner. Roslyn still running up the tall staircase not slowing down or growing tired, running on pure adrenaline with only Gonlazo on her mind. Carlos still following her is trying to keep up, is slightly out of breath. After a few minutes, Roslyn passes the 18th floor she hears a scream for help. She kicks down the door hoping it\'s Gonlazo and sees a man with a white lab coat, his leg caught under a fallen air vent. \"PLEASE, HELP ME!\" Roslyn then tries to lift the air vent but it is too heavy. Carlos enters the room and without saying anything begins to help her. They both lifted at the same time and the man was able to move his leg out. They both help the man get up he is un able to stand on his own. Roslyn then puts the mans arm around Carlos shoulder. \"You get this man downstairs im going to keep looking for Gonlazo\" the man in the lab coat looks up to her \"You know Mr Roldan? He went up stairs too see if anyone was alive, he left so fast it didn\'t give me a chance to give him my new invention \" he pulls out a pair of sunglasses and gave it to her. \"Put them on and tap the left side.\" she does as he says and after she taps the left side she sees a green glow surrounding Carlos and the scientist. \" What are these?\" she asks in astonishment. \"These glasses work like infa-red that detect heat, but these work different they only detect living things, like people and animals in a green glow. You should be able to find Mr. Roldan with these though the flames.\" the scientists explains. \"Thank you\" roslyn say as she runs once again up the stairs, finally reaching the top floor. The door wide open and smoke flowing out the doorway she walks in and begins to walk towards Gonlazo\'s office. She notices a two separate green glowing spots coming from his office. But as she reached for the door knob she heard a gunshot and the second green spot fell back on to the ground. roslyn pulled out her 9 millimeter and slowly open the door though the crack she saw Gonlazo on the floor, his right arm bleeding. \"GONLAZO!\" she runs towards him and kneels down to look at his wound. \"Get out, now before its too late.\" Gonlazo says in a low voice. \"Oh now, Gonlazo who is this? Your love,
...hmmm.... Its too bad your unable too protect her in your weaken position.\" she hears a voice from behind her though the smoke, but sees nothing on her special sunglasses. She turns back to Gonlazo only to find a man in black standing right in front of her with a twisted smile on his face.
Roslyn then points her gun at him \"Drop your weapon.....I\'m Miami P.D.\" Anastasio then drops his gun to the floor and kicks it to her. \"Okay I\'ll play along.\"he says. Roslyn then slowly reaches for the gun, as she grips onto it a jolt of electricity coming from the gun shocks her and she loses consciousness and Anastasio grabs her before she hits the floor. \"But i didn\'t say anything about playing fair.\" Anastasio looking at her long black raven hair, soft skin, and beautiful face. Also notice a tattoo on her left arm that showed both the Puerto Rican flag and Colombian flag side by side. but he only looked at her not as a person, but as another victim of collateral damage . \"A police officer. How predictable of you to fall for a law enforcer.\" but as he did all of this with his back turned to Gonlazo. Gonlazo crawled to the other end of the room and grabbed a rapier sword that was displayed on the wall until it fell after the explosion. He unsheathed the sword and just as he tried to get up. Carlos bursted though the door with his 9 millimeter drawn at Anastasio. \"Put her down and get on your knees with your hand behind your head!\" \"More cops.\" he then throws roslyn\'s unconscious body right at Carlos \"CATCH\" Anastasio shouts. Carlos catches her and puts her gently on the ground and as he is doing that Anastasio is making his escape, he jumps out the window. Once Carlos gets back up and realized what happen \"HOLY...\" Carlos looks out the window Anastasio jumped out of, and sees a small figure gliding in the sky and disappears behind a nearby building. \"I don\'t believe it\" he then runs back to roslyn and picks her up and begins walk towards the door but he can see from the office, flaming debris is blocking there only way out. \"Over here!\" he sees a wounded man open a secret door behind a large painting of Jose Marti. All three walk though the door. \"This is a emergency exit elevator if I need to get out fast, its completely safe, it runs on a different system.\" Gonlazo explains. \"Are you sure?\" Carlos asked concerned about his partner more than himself. \"Let me put it this way if the building collapsed this elevator shaft would still stand and be operational.\" Gonlazo tells him to calm his nerves. They all get in the elevator and it begins its decent to the ground floor. Gonlazo checks Roslyn\'s vital signs. \"She going to be okay.\" Gonlazo said \"So you must be her partner she told me so much about you...Carlos, right?\" he asked. \"Yeah...and you must be Gonlazo. Who was that guy who jumped out the window.\" Gonlazo wondered what he was going to say. \"Well...\" Roslyn then wakes up moaning in pain, holding her head as if she had a migraine. \"Oohhh....my..head....hurts...what happen...uhh..THE GUN!\" she shouts as the memory of the electric gun ran though her head. \"It\'s okay we\'re here, he\'s gone.\" Gonlazo tells her still in Carlos\'s arms. \"You know...you...can put me down\" she tells Carlos. \"You have a serious gratitude problem, you know that.\" Carlos tells her as he put her feet down on the floor, so she can stand. Roslyn turns to Gonlazo and wraps her arms around him. \"I thought you were dead\" she said. The elevator stops and the doors open they all get run out of the building and look up as the top floor collapses. A helicopter hovers above the building and a compartment door opens below it and releases gallons of water on the blaze. Carlos notices Fire truck with a firefighter next to it talking though a walkie talkie looking up at the rescue chopper. Carlos wondering why there using a helicopter to put out the fire walks up to the fireman and flashes his badge. \"Miami P.D. what\'s with the forest fire helicopter.\" Carlos asks. The fireman answers \"When we got here it turn out that there is no running water in the building so those emergency hoses were useless.\" just then a man with a hard hat in the pops out of the manhole next to them. \"Hey John, you may want to see this\" the man say as he goes back down the hole. The fireman and Carlos both get down into the sewer tunnel the man with the hard hat points to several broken pipes along the sides of the tunnel with running water flowing out of them from one broken end, but no water coming from the other end. \"Someone blew all of the water pipes that run to that building.\" the man with the hard hat explains \"How?\" Carlos asked. \"My best bet is with this with this.\" the man says as he hold up a small burned and broken keypad and gives to

Carlos. \"This is a detonator for small explosives.\" Carlos explains. \"My god. Whoever did this didn\'t want the fire to be put out. There insane\" the fireman says with a offended tone \"we\'ll catch the son of a bitch. Did you find any more of these?\" Carlos asked the man with the hard hat.\"No, I just got in here a few minutes ago that was behind one of the pipes.\" \"Well I think we should get out of here in case something still hasn\'t gone off.\" Carlos said. The all nodded in agreement and came back up to the surface and once they were all out the man in the hard hat put the lid on the manhole. \"Also this is now a crime scene no one is to enter here until I get the bomb squad here. Just as a precaution\" Carlos said. Then ran to his car and open the drivers side door sat in and grab the microphone for the Radio \"Dispatch this Detective Carlos Gonzalez.\" Carlos continues on the radio calling the bomb squad. While Roslyn talks with Gonlazo. \"Thank god we got out of there.\" roslyn tells him as they sit side by side in the back of a ambulance as paramedics check Gonlazo\'s right arm where he was shot. \"Yea, I was lucky, you got there in time\" Gonlazo said with a smile as he held Roslyn right hand with his left hand. \"It looks like the bullet might have hit the bone causing a fracture we have to take you to the hospital.\" one paramedic said as the other began to grab the stretcher in the ambulance. Carlos watch from the car as they were putting Gonlazo on the stretcher and in the ambulance. \"The bomb squad will be on its way.\" The dispatcher said over the radio. \"Roger that\" Carlos responded and put the microphone back on the radio, got out of the car and began walking to Roslyn as she stood watching the ambulance drive off
\"Aren\'t you going with him?\" Carlos asked. \"Nah. He\'s going to be in surgery for a while and I wont be able to see him until its over. So we both thought it would be a more useful idea for me to stay and figure out what happen here.\" Roslyn explains. \"Okay\" Carlos said. Just as they both turned around a news crew was standing right behind them and a Female reporter with a mic in front of Carlos face. \"Detective, Im Cynthia Torres with channel 7 news, can we ask you a few questions?\" she asked . \"How did you know Im a cop\" Carlos asked her. \"That guy with the hard hat told me.\" she pointed at him the same man that he was just talking with. \"So Detective, is it true that the explosion was the result of a bomb?\" Carlos and Roslyn just right though them. \"No comment\" he answered. \"Was this a terrorist attack on Miami or was this an assassination attempt on the Company\'s CEO Gonlazo Roldan?\" she follow Carlos with her cameraman behind her filming every second. \"No comment\" he repeats himself and began walking to the police barricade \"Is it true that the water pipes to the building have been blown in a attempt to prevent the fire department to put out the blaze.\" at this point Carlos already open the yellow crime scene tape set up by other units and lifted the tape and waked under it and so did Roslyn. \"Can you tell me anything?\" she asked one last time as a uniformed police officer stop her from going any further, Carlos than stopped walking turned around with a crooked smile on his face \"Yea, your mic isn\'t plugged in.\" She looks at her microphone and sees the plug that is meant to be plugged in the camera is dragging on the floor, she turns around and gives her cameraman a cold stare. \"I thought...thought..it was.\" the cameraman stutter as he tries to explains.\"Just go back to the van\" she said and began walking towards there news van with the cameraman following her.
