The Race

I met leo at the starting line, he chuckled as he put his helmet on, \"I don\'t know why you bothered to show up, you\'re going to lose.\"

Both our bikes were equally matched and were Suzuki. \"You need to quit acting like you\'ve already won, the only reason you\'re the president of our club is because you were the only one dumb enough to race T.J. while he was sick.\"

Leo glared at me and slammed his visor down, I put mine down and we waited. Tension built up in the stand where the Renegades stood, if I won this race, i would be the president of the Renegades and I could take away Leo\'s colors, make him a prospect, Leo and i had another bet on this race. Not only were five-g\'s on the line, but if he won I wouldn\'t be able to see Tarrence anymore, I would be leo\'s \'girl\' until someone actually beat him in a race, but if I won, well I\'d be the Prez. and I\'d make Leo a Prospect with no way to the top.

We waited, eager to see the light turn green, finally it did. Tires spun, and smoke rose, all that could be seen as we raced down the track were two blurs. I glanced at Leo just as he tried to push me into the wall, I slowed and sped up again. We were a few feet form the finish, right next to each other, I picked up speed, I glanced back to see Leo cursed as I crossed the line first. We slowed down until we came to a stop, leo took his helmet off and glared at me, he turned and left. I followed him until he finally stopped and threw his helmet off his bike. I took mine off and set it on my bike, \"Leo..\" He ran at me and stopped right in front of my face, I gulped, \"Leo, please, don\'t do anything...\"

He kissed me fiercely and long, until I was pulling away gasping for breath, \"I guess you won.\" He took the five-g\'s out of his pocket and handed it to me, \"You\'re the Prez. of the Renegades, I guess I\'m a Prospect now huh?\"

He looked at the ground, I stood there stunned, I was waiting for him to hit me or kill me or put me in a hospital, but he just stood there like me, only staring at the ground. \"I guess so...listen Leo..\"

He cut me off, \"Forget it, I\'d rather go get new colors than be tormented everyday by you and your crew.\" I watched him get on his bike and leave Fresno, I never saw Leo again.
I had been praised and slapped on the back enough before I got to the motel, I ran up and slammed the door shut, Tarrence waited on the bed, \"To much praise for one day?\"

He chuckled and walked to me. He didn\'t let me speak, our lips touched, heat radiated through my body, I pulled away, \"We don\'t have to be secret anymore, Leo left, he\'s not coming back.\"

He kissed my eyelids, my nose, and finally my mouth, \"I know.\" He whispered. He kissed my neck and shoulders, i turned off the lights and let him carry me to the bed once more.

It was after midnight when he was going through my bag and found the tylenol, \"Get headaches often?\" He shook it and opened it, out fell two pills, \"How many did you take!\" His eyes were wide.

I was half asleep, \"I\'ve had them awhile.\" He shook his head and pulled me close to him, he didn\'t seem satisfied with my answer, but he didn\'t ask anymore. He sighed and I turned over, \"Can\'t you go to sleep?\" I whined. He put a pillow on top of my face and laid down, he finally slept, restlessly.
We left Fresno and headed back home for San Francisco in the morning. It was wild to lead the group back, with Tarrence on my right and Adrian (yes Adrian) on my left. We all went our seperate ways in town, Tarrence went with me to my apartment. We climbed the chipped-painted stone stairs to the second story and opened my rusty red door. Everything was as I left it, the off-white sofa had my black afghan draped over it. Shirts, blouses, pants, and shoes littered the floor. My bed was still unmade from where I had left so early the morning we went to Fresno. T

arrence spun me around and kissed me passionately, \"I\'ll call you tonight afetr you\'re settled and...you\'ve cleaned up.\" He looked around the room and grinned, \"Maybe I should call tomorrow.\"

I hit him playfully, \"It\'s not that messy!\" He walked back down and waved to me as I stood on the balcony, leaning over the railing, i waved back. I would talk to him tonight.

As I unpacked my bag I came across the tylenol bottle again, I opened it and took out the two pills. I walked into the bathroom and flushed the pils, I threw the bottle in the trash and looked in the mirror, I had my girlfriend half-n-half braid my hair and pull it back. The bandanna was a dark blood-red that made green eyes blaze, my cheeks were flushed. I pushed my face up against the mirror to make sure it was me, for the first time in my life, I thought, I looked like a real girl, except for the fact i was wearing black baggie cargos that looked like they were made for boys, I had on a spiked bracelet, and my one-sleeve black tank. I grinned and whispered to myself, \"I guess this is what a biker girl looks like.\"
