Sapphire and Ice 2
Chapter Two
Red eyes peered through the darkness, watching the teen\'s every move, following him, waiting for just the right moment to make his move.
\'He\'s so beautiful… he\'ll be perfect,\' the strange creature whispered to himself with a smirk. He moved quickly and carefully, making sure not to make his presence known… at least, not yet.
With only the light of the moon to help guide him through the woods, Darien pressed on. It was getting pretty late, and he knew he needed somewhere to stay for the night. As he started looking for a place to camp out for the night, he heard a noise. Brushing it off as simply a raccoon or something, he continued looking for a good place to sleep. Again, there were more noises.
\"H-hello?\" Darien asked nervously. He looked around but nothing could be seen. He was almost certain he could feel the presence of someone lurking there though.
\"Come out, whoever you are! I know you\'re there!\" he yelled, still looking all around him, trying to find whoever it was that was hiding in the darkness.
\"My my, what a clever boy you are,\" said the mysterious creature in a calm voice, stepping out of the shadows behind Darien. Darien whirled around to see… well, the most beautiful man he had ever seen. Tall, long dark hair, pale, glowing red eyes, long, sharp fangs, not to mention very exquisitely dressed.
\"A…a vampire?\" questioned Darien as he took in the elegance of the other man. He had always had a fascination with vampires, but to really cross paths with one? He couldn\'t believe his eyes.
\"But of course… you were expecting Bigfoot?\" the vampire chuckled while taking the time to examine his \"prey\". He was stunning, perfect for the things he had in mind for him…
\"You aren\'t afraid of me?\" asked the vampire, a bit confused as to why the teen wasn\'t running in terror from him.
\"Me? No… I love vampires,\" replied Darien. \"I\'ve always admired them for some reason, I can\'t quite explain it.\"
\"Well I\'m flattered you think so highly of me, but you aren\'t scared that I may murder you right here?\" the vampire questioned, moving his hand up to cup Darien\'s cheek and look into his eyes.
Darien sweatdropped. \"I uh… I guess I didn\'t think about that part,\" he stammered as he realized that if the beautiful vampire was going to kill him, he couldn\'t escape. He looked back into the night creature\'s eyes, noticing they had stopped glowing a fiery red and were now a chilling ice blue.
That was the last image Darien could recall before the vampire sank his fangs into his neck, causing him to black out.
