Cha1 - 1 - The finding

“Oi! Sir! Come here, there is something here!” The young, eeger archeologist waved his hand, while jumping up and down frantacally, making his once white coat dance around him.
*This is it, this is it! We are rich, this will be the proof of it all- * his thoughts was innteruppted by the grumpy gray eyes of Colonel Dereck Wales. The bushy, brown eyebrows furrowed, and glared at the young archeologis, which made him vince. “This better be importand, Dr. Milton...” The older man said, puffing on a smoke, and jumped down into the hole which was Dr. James Miltons working space.

Dr. James milton was a twenty-four years old archeologist, which so desperatly wanted to proove the existence of previous humanoid races other then those known. His theroi was that elves and creatures like that had existed, but was currently hidning among the normal humans. But because of his wild ideas, he was thrown out of school, and had sat there without no money and no job. Lucky for him a small millitary group needed an old forest dug up, to pick up all the military things that had been left there after the war, and noone else had wanted the job. So he had taken it with a grin. Digging he knew of.

“Whacha found, son?” The Colonel asked, taking a deep puff on the sigarette, and blowing a cloud of smoke into Dr. Miltons face. He cothed, trying to wave of the smoke. With teary eyes he crouched down beside his finding. “It looks like a body preserved by the cold and oxygen poor dirt here, sir. I believe it is old, according to the clothes.” He took a deep breath, using a small brush to point out what he had currenlty dug out.

It looked like a body hudled together, a sword in a rotten sheath clung in his arms.

“I cannot be sure without carbon dating, sir, but I believe this corpse is about a thousand years old!” Milton was exited, no question about that. His pretty gray eyes were sparkeling, and the raven black hair danced around him as he shifted his wheight from one foot to the other.
Colonel Wales shook his head slightly. “You are here to digg up old military stuff, not old rotting people from before that..” He shook his head, resulting in that his sigarette fell out of his mouth and hit Dr. Milton in the face, making him toppel over, and fall on his ass beside the corpse. “Ow! Great, was that nessesary..?!” He whimpered angerly, wiping the resulting tears that had came out after the sigarette hit the side of his left eye, leaving a small burn.

It was then Milton realised the tears did not come from the burn, but mostly from the fact that he had slashed his arm on the sword halfway stikking out of the ground. “Ok... THAT hurt!” He pulled his arm close, and stradled it, hot seering pain numbin his badly cut hand.
*Still sharp after so many years underground...? A fraud?* He thought to himself at The colonel pulled him up. “You ok, son? “ He asked, frowning deem. “M’sorry, di’nt mean to hit’ya...” He gruffled, scratchin the back of his head, reaching out a hand to help him up.
Milton frowned at it for a while, but he took it at last, pulling himself up to his feet.
“I cut my hand...” He showed his hand to the Colonel, and he studied it. “Well, I must say... “ He started, but Milton cut him off. “It looks bad, but it does not hurt *that* badly...” Milton sighed, withdrawing the hand. “ Probably, it had..” The older mand said, raising an eyebrow, frowning. “If there had been a cut there..” The colonel shook his head, the gray hair fluttering in the wind. “You can dig the corpse up, but I dont really want anything to do with it. Get it out of here, and continiue with your job. That is what you are gettibng paid for.” He took a firm grip off some root, and climed out of the hole. “I want to be finished with this place by the end of the month. It gives me the creeps...” A shudder ran thought the colonel, and he headed off, leaving Milton to his work.

“James, this is disgusting!” Amelia Milton, Dr. Miltons wife, frowned at the sight of the corpse, her green, cat like eyes narrowing in disguist. “No, He is incredible!” Milton argued, placing a glowed hand on top of the head of the body, which was currently laying on a table inside a colling room. Amilia shook her head, and crossed her armes angerly, some of her dark red hair falling in front of her face. With an anoyed puff, she blew them away.
“I mean, how can you even be sure it is a he, in my eyes, it look more like a girl.” Milton blinked confused for a second, before frowning at her, and letting out a short laugh. “No no, it is a he, well, if it is not a transvetite, I mean. No, What I think is incredible is this!” He pointed over to the x-ray images in his hand, showing diffrent parts of the corpse. “The skeleton shows abnormal teeth, fingers, feet, and tail bone! I mean, this guy looks like a cross between a cat/wolf man!” Milton was happly jumping up and down, waving the scans infront of his wifes face. She grabbed the scans and looked at them, her eyes widning in suprice.

Amelia Milton was also intrested in Archeology, but she had taken graduation in medication instead, and was a first class doctor, whos specialety was is outopsey. She had deep red hair, and green eyes. Allthought being a doctor, she could not stand old corpses. She was two years older then her husband, but that bother none of them.

“You sure this guy is not a fraud placed there by somebody, I mean, he looks like he died yesterday, if I am to dudge by body, but judging by the state of the things with him, I would say he is pretty old.” She shook her head. “This is strange..”
“Yes, it is, you see, I took a carbon test, and this guy has been dead for over one and a half thousand years!” His voice were hight pitched, and eeger.
Amelias eyes widned once more, and she looked down at the corpse.

The body of the boy looked like he had just fallen asleep, noting marred the golden, but pale in death skin. His eyes were closed, and she halfway expected him to wake up any moment.
With a quivering hand, she reached out and touched the body.

Cold.

She let out a sigh. She had allmost expecting him to be warm. She turned to her Husband, and smiled. “This is so great for you!” She said, walking over and giving him a tight hug. “I mean, this can proove every one of those strange ideas of yours!”

At the same time, the black sword loosned form the corpses arms and fell to the floor with a loud clang. ¨
