Chapter 2

7 years later.

Kaylee was staying with Kristie and Simon for the holidays, and they were almost over. As she hit her teenage years Kaylees hormones were going into overtime and she found been near Simon made her feel funny things. Now, being the old age of 13 she understood she had what her friends termed a crush, and Simon was it. Kaylee sighed deeply her head resting in her hands as she watched some TV in what was her room. Kelly had moved out a little over two months ago and in with Carlos her boyfriend. Simon was home from school and he and Kaylee were alone in the house, Kristie having gone out with some friends. As Kaylee sat in her room she heard some funny noises and she shuffled out into the corridor, \'Simon,\' she called out and he opened his door sticking his head out and she could see he was crying. Kaylee walked up and looked at him, \'S\'matter?\' she asked and he said nothing but Kaylee wrapped her arms round him and hugged him tight. \'S\'ok\' she said. Simon kissed the top of her head, \'Go back to back Kaylee.\' Kaylee let go and wandered back down the corridor but she hadn\'t missed the poster of Uncle Mac on the wall.

6 years later

Kaylee was 19 now and in her first year at Uni, it was nothing but parties, studying, drinking and more parties. Uncle Gianni was paying so she didn\'t need to worry about money, she just needed to worry about passing. She hadn\'t seen Simon since that night 6 years before and although she tried to push all memory of him from her mind it was proving hard as he had decided to become a driver. At the moment he wasn\'t involved in the big time but Kaylee knew that was about to change, he was in his last year in the States, next year he would be going global and she couldn\'t avoid him.

She was sat at her desk finishing off an assignment when the phone rang, \'Kaylee, its for you,\' her housemate Stacy shouted. \'K, coming,\' she called and put down her pen. She ran downstairs and picked up the phone, \'Hello?\' she said and was greeted by Kelly\'s voice, \'Hey Kaylee, how are you?\' Kaylee grinned, \'Fine. You?\' She could almost hear Kelly grinning down the phone, \'Great, getting married. You coming?\' As simple as that. \'Its not till season\'s over, you know how it is,\' \'Yes,\' Kaylee answered grimacing, \'But you\'ve got your holidays coming and I want to get you fitted for a dress, be my bridesmaid.\' Kaylee was grinning from ear to ear. \'Yes,\' she yelled. \'Great, look when you finish, come over and we\'ll get things sorted. Mom\'s really wanting to see you.\' \'K, I\'ll be done in a couple of weeks, gotta get exams out the way first.\' \'Great, look I gotta go, Thomas is waiting for me.\' \'Ok, I\'ll see you soon, bye.\' Then Kelly was gone.

Kaylee smiled at Stacy, \'Kelly, my Uncle Mac and Auntie Kristies eldest.\' Stacy looked up, \'American?\' she asked and Kaylee nodded, \'Yeah, haven\'t seen Kelly for a couple of years, or Auntie Kristie.\' She didn\'t say Simon\'s name, \'What about your Uncle?\' Stacy asked, \'Oh, he died in a car crash when I was 6.\' Stacy turned a deep shade of purple, \'Don\'t worry it was a long time ago and you didn\'t know.\'

For the next couple of weeks Kaylee skipped happily along the street and sailed through her exams and final essays. Year one over and she was happy. She said goodbye to James who she\'d been seeing for the last couple of months and told him she\'d see him next semester, she was going abroad for a while. James glowered but said nothing and watched her leave in her little car.
