Ambitions

Chapter Two: Ambitions

I knew that Miguel will not understand what purpose I had for him. It may have been out of anger at what I myself have become and yet I didn\'t care. There was no love in the bond that I had made with him. No. There was nothing but blood lust and hate. Blood lust for my neglecting to feast as I should, hate for the one who stole my humanity from me.

Eternity is a long time. A time that I will have plenty of, to find my sire and put him out of my misery. The only problem left for me, is actually finding the bastard and what ever hole he had crawled into. A feat that will take some time-time that I am not willing to waste.

Hence my presence at Devil\'s Den. The name of the club itself didn\'t fit with what was proceeding within its walls. It was a club for us vampires, a sure way to be given blood freely from all of the participants and a secret that will be kept from the sun\'s knowledge. Ah, the sweet smell of willing victims.

Too bad that will have to wait.

Not wanting my presence to be known, I sat alone in a secluded area in the back of the club in one of the single cubicles. I left my hair down to hinder any way of distinguishing my facial features. Instead of my usual hazel eyes, I wore a dark brown contact. Oh no, I wasn\'t here to fool any vampire that may be lurking around to gain some sort of status, I was waiting for an informant. A human informant that knows the possible where abouts of that bastard of a sire.

Having been here early, I had smoked half my pack of Newport hundreds and as I decided to take out another one to smoke, the rat finally decided to show up.

"You\'re late!" I muttered, lighting my cigarette.

"I know, I know," stuttered the fat man in front of me. He stood there as if waiting for an order of some sort and already my patience was no longer present.

"Well, sit down you dumb twit of a shit bag!" I barked.

He jumped in front of me and quickly sat in the second seat that was there. Clutching a briefcase in front of him, the fat man was the first to be spot by anyone with enough sense to know that he was definitely out of place.

"Well..." the fat man started, "This is a nice place..."

I glared at him, not amused at his sense of \'making a conversation\'. I wanted the information and I wanted it now! Some how getting it through his thick skull of saturated fat, he opened the briefcase and pulled out some papers. He laid them in front of me and quickly went over what he knew.

"Uh hum! So far, your sire Lord Juren is said to be with Lady Bellia." He paused hesitating to continue. Seeing that I said nothing he continued.

"Well, the two are supposedly trying to over throw his Lordship Ardia, one of..."

"The still living true blood vampire that has yet to be located," I interrupted. "I know! I need to know where I can FIND Juren!" I stressed.

"Y-yes, yes." The fat man agreed hurriedly, fumbling with the papers. "He\'s going on a trip to his home town in three week\'s time. He\'s going back to New York."

New York. I\'m currently in Chicago and going to New York would be a few hours ride on a flight and a few days drive on a bus. I\'ve got three weeks to figure out how I\'m going to do this.

"And?" I question.

"He\'ll be checking in on how well the trades are." The man quickly added.

I nodded, not quiet satisfied with the information. Luckily enough, I was able to scan over the papers that he was looking through and from my collection of what was on paper, the over fed man was not telling all. Not saying another word, I pulled out a long needle and inserted into the beating pulse just below his jaw, quietly snuffing out another life. I gathered the papers that was there and left Devil\'s Den.
