The Second Meeting
Chapter 2- The second Meeting
The next few days flew by without anymore visits from the ghost. Although, Gloria could swear she felt him watching her several times.
Saturday night came and Gloria found herself spending a quiet evening at home. Around midnight she slipped into bed. It was too hot for blankets, but she felt safer being covered up. Her flame red hair stuck to her sweaty forehead. The sheets clung to her legs, making her uncomfortable.
Tossing and turning, Gloria sighed to herself. She would never get to sleep at this rate. Suddenly she felt a presence in the room. Her eyes quickly darted around in the dark, trying to catch a glimpse of her unwelcome visitor.
From the corner of the room, a shadow appeared and began to slowly move er ter to the bed. Gloria gasped. He had the audacity to appear again. She sat up and reached for the light. \"No, leave it off.\" His voice was soft. She hadn\'t noticed that before. Gloria pulled her hand back without turning on the lamp.
The figure now stood beside the bed. He sat down next to Gloria. \"I told you I\'d be back.\" He smiled at Gloria. She was shaking with fear and yet she was intrigued. \"I\'m Gloria.\" Her voice sounded so strange. He smiled again. \"I know. I\'ve been watching. I\'m Henry Keys.\" He extended his hand as if he expected Gloria to shake it. She had no intention of touching him. Not now, not ever.
Henry laughed. \"You don\'t trust me.\" Gloria shook her head. \\'re\'re haunting me. Watching me. How can I trust you?\" Henry sat staring, obviously deep in thought. \"Yoe rie right Gloria. I promise I won\'t watch you anymore. But I\'m not going away. This is my house.\" Gloria only nodded. She wondered if there was some way she could release his spirit.
Henry extended his hand once again. \"Please let us shake hands like civilized people. You don\'t have to be afraid.\" Gloria\'s hand found it\'s way into Henry\'s as if of it\'s own accord. His hand felt slightly cool, but not unpleasantly so. His hand gripped hers firmly as he gazed into her eyes. Henry let out a sigh. \"God, you look like her.\"
Gloria pulled her hand away. \"I look like who?\" Henry turned his head away. \"My wife. Elizabeth.\" Gloria suddenly felt sorry for Henry. How long had he been trapped here separated from the ones he loved?
Henry turned back to Gloria. She could swear she saw tears in his eyes. Without thinking she reached out to him. Let her fingers brush his cheek. Touched by her compassion, Henry closed his eyes and trailed his fingers down her arm. Gloria pushed the blankets away and sat closer to Henry. She touched his jawline, his neck, his firmly muscled chest. Henry\'s eyes opened slowly.
Gloria and Henry found themselves locked in an intense gaze. At the same moment they each leaned forward. Their eyes drifed closed as their lips met. Despite the coolness of his skin, Henry\'s lips were warm. Gloria felt little bolts of lightening run down her spine. Henry\'s mouth devoured hers. He seemed to be drinking her energy through her lips. Gloria\'s mouth opened accepting his tongue. He explored her mouth with a fierce passion, making her feel like she was on fire.
Suddenly the phone rang. She let go of Henry and opened her eyes. He smiled at her and lifted her hand to kiss the knuckles. \"Until we meet again.\" Then he disappeared.
