Guardians

A Visit Home

It stared like any other day; Ailish was looking over the castle wall. She was thinking about her parents. She was so in thought that she didn't hear Ronan and Connor walking up behind her.

"Ailish what's wrong you look so sad." Ronan asked.

"I was just thinking about my parents. I miss them a lot." She said as she turn to face them.

"Why don't you go see them. Ronan and I could go with you." Connor said.

"Would you really come with me to see my parents." She asked them.

Connor looked at his sister. "Yes we would Ailish. I really want to thank them for taking good care of you."

Ailish smiled and hugged both of them. "I'm going to go pack a few things. I'll meet you guys at the hut." She said to them.

"Okay Ailish see you later." Ronan said.

Ailish ran down the stairs and all the way to her room. She packed a few things that were important to her. She changed into something she could walk in. After she grabbed her pack and left the castle. She walks to the village and up to where Ronan and Connor were waiting for her.

"Are you guys ready to leave. It will take us 6 hours to get there." She told them

"Let's go. We are ready." Connor said.

They started walking away from their home. Ailish couldn't wait to see her family and friends. She was looking at the forest when she saw her friend the fairy.

"Ailish where are you guys going." Caitlin asked.

"We are going to see my parents. Would you like to come with us? ` Ailish ask her little friend.

`I would like that very much Thank you Ailish. ` Caitlin answered back.

`Ailish! I think we should stop to eat you look tired. ` Ronan said.

She looks at him and smile. "Your right we can stop a while." She looked at them "But I just can't wait to get home."

They sat down and Ronan with his sword started a little fire. They ate a little and while Ailish had a little rest, Connor and Ronan went exploring. When Ailish woke up it was dark. She could see the guys sleeping on the other side of the fire.

She went for a walk and stopped on top of a hill and sat down on a rock to watch the sun go up. She was so fascinated by it that she didn't hear her brother approaching.

"Sis." Connor spoke up.

She jumped up ready to fight she saw her brother and put her daggers away. "Connor you scared me." She told him.

"Sorry, when I woke up and saw you were not there I got scared."

She went to him and hugged him. "I couldn't sleep anymore. Why didn't you guys wake me up."

Connor looked at her. "We thought you needed some sleep."

Ailish smiled. "It's okay. Come look Connor. We can see my village from here."

They both to the side of the hill and she pointed to the village in the distance.

"Well I guess we are almost there." Connor said.

"Let's get are stuff and Ronan. So we can leave." Ailish said as pulled on Connors hand.

Ailish ran down the hill and looked back at Connor. She didn't see Ronan and he did see her and told himself god she's beautiful. She turned around and saw him. He had come in front of her with his arms outstretch. So he could catch her.

"Ronan." Ailish jumped in his arms.

"What's going on." He asked as Connor arrived out of breath.

"It's nothing Ronan. It's just that we are almost at my village." Ailish said as she went to the fire and extinguished it. She took her stuff and turned around. The guys were looking at her. "What?" she asked.

"Your powers." Was all they could say?

"I know they're getting stronger." She smiled "Let's go."

"Connor and Ronan took they things and followed Ailish. They passed in a big forest, when they came out they were at the village. As they walk through the village to her house the villagers stopped what they were doing and looked at her.

"Come on guys my house is in the middle." She told them

As they walk passed the people, they turned their back to her. She wondered what was going on. They reached her house and went in. She heard a lot of people yelling in the kitchen. Her mom and dad were talking about her and the others were talking about how it was her fault what was happening. She walked into the kitchen and they all looked at her.

"Hi mom, dad I'm home. And I brought some friends. This is Ronan and Connor." They shook hands.

"I'm glad your back Hun." Her father said.

The other people didn't say hi to her. But they kept looking at her.

"What was all that yelling about something being my fault!" She asks.

Her father'iendiend stood up. "Since you left a group of man as been ransacking everything." He told her.

"And that's my fault how." She gave him a quiz like look.

"The leader in love with you. Two days after you left he came and told us that until you came back we would all pay for it." He explained to her.

"Ailish looked at Connor and Ronan. And they nodded to her. "You don't have to worry any more we are here to help."

The people started to laugh at her. "What can you do? You're just a defenseless little girl."

"I may be a girl but IM not defenseless IM also a guardian as my friends are too. We can help you." She told them.

"Daughter can you really help? Her father asked.

Ronan came beside Ailish. "Yes sir we can if you will let us help."

They looked at Ronan and them back at Ailish.

"Alright! The next time they come you will take care of them." The man said.

She smiled and looked at Ronan. Ronan smiled down at her. "We will help your village Ailish I promise."

She gave him a hug. "Thank Ronan I love you." She said as she looked up into his eyes.

He lean downs and kissed her. "I love you too Ailish.

Her parents said goodbye to the others and came back to the kitchen.

"So Ailish where will your friends sleep." Her mother asked.

She had forgotten to introduce them properly and pull away from Ronan and looked at her parents.

"Mom, Dad. This is Ronan my boyfriend and this is Connor my brother, and I remember everything now."

Her mother looked at her. "How?" Her father asked as he walked beside his wife.

"I was learning my magic and he called me his little witch." She said to her parents.

Conner hugged his sister "I always call her that before Morgan destroyed our village. And I just wanted to thank you both for talking good care of her."

"You are welcome. Ailish why don't you go show you friends the village. And IM sure Sarah misses you." Her mom said.

"Okay mom I want to see her so much I missed her too." She said. They all left their weapon and things in the bedroom and went out.

"I can't wait for you guys to meet Sarah she a very cool girl" She told them as they walked around the village. They arrived at a small hut and she knocked on the door.

A little girl answered. "Hi Ailish." She smiled at her.

"Hi Mish, is Sarah here?" She picked up Mish and hugged her.

"She's inside come in. Who are those guys." Shed pointed to Connor and Ronan.

"Well this is my brother Connor and my boyfriend Ronan. Guys this is Mish."

"Hello Mish it's nice to meet you." Connor said.

"Hi Misha nice to meet you." Ronan smile at her.

"Hi oh Ailish their so cute." she jumped out of her arms and walk in.

Ailish smiled as she walks in with the two guys behind her. Ailish saw Sarah was making dinner.

"Hi Sarah" Ailish said. Sarah jumped at the voice. She turned around and looked at Ailish "Your back I knew you would Ailish."

The two girls hu "Sa "Sarah I have someone I want you to meet. This is Ronan my boyfriend and Connor my brother."

She smiled and shook their hands. "It's nice to meet you Sarah." They both said.

"So Ailish how have you been." Sarah asked.

"I'm just fine. I just didn't know my village would get in trouble with me leaving. But I'm glad IM back, now I will take care of who ever is doing this." Ailish said.

"Your mom didn't tell you who it was?" Sarah asks.

Ailish nodded her head. "No they didn't tell me. Who is it Sarah do I know them."

Sarah sat down and the others joined her at the table.

"He use to live here. It's Josh." She told her. "He said that he had always had a crush on you and now that he had a group to help him. That he would get you for his own."

Ailish smiled. "Well will see about that I have a Boyfriend and I would never leave him."

Sarah laughs. Misha tugged on Ailish's sleeve. "Ailish something is moving in your pocket."

Ailish slipped her hand in her pocket and took out what she had.

"What is it Ailish." Misha asked.

She looked down at the little person. "It's my friend Caitlin. But she's sleeping we should let her sleep." Ailish smiled at Misha.

Misha ran into her room aame ame back. "Here Ailish she can have my doll bed." Misha said

"Thank you Misha." Ailish kissed the little girls cheek and place Caitlin in the bed.

"Ailish Would you there stay for supper I made a lot." Sarah asked.

"We would like to stay. Thanks." Ailish looked at Connor and Ronan. They nodded.

"Well then sit down it's ready." Sarah said.

They sat down and Sarah gave them a bowl of beef stew and a glass of ale.

"It's good Sarah. You're a great cook." Ailish told her.

Sarah smiled "Thanks you."

After dinner Ailish said goodbye and promised to meet Sarah the next day and Sarah told her that Josh would be coming too. Ailish smiled at her friend and told her not to worry. They hugged and the three friends made their way back to her house.

"Guys I'll be right back." She said as she walked to her parent's room.

"Ailish your back." Her father said.

"Mom, Dad why didn't you tell me it was Josh making trouble in the village." She asked them.

Her parents looked at her. "We didn't know how to tell you. He was your best friend. We are sorry we should have told you."

She hugged her parents. "Its okay can I have some blankets and pillows for Ronan and Connor."

Her mother went to the other room and brought what she asked for. "Here you go sweet heart."

Ailish took the stuff and walk back to the guys and handed them over. She kissed Ronan and hugged her brother. "Goodnight guys." She walked into her room.

She took off her clothes and slipped into her bed. This was going to be the best night ever. If only she takes care of the group that was hurting her village.

She didn't want to fight but she knew Josh would not let her go. She fell asleep and had a bad dream. Someone took her evil and killing Ronan. She woke up Screaming.

Ronan ran in and she started crying. "Ailish what's wrong?"

She hugged him. She didn't want to let him go. "I had a bad dream."

He lifted her head and kissed her. "You want to talk about it Ailish."

She looked at him. "I.... All right I will. It was about me being taken from you and me killing you. It really scared me."

She looked at him as he took her in his arms and held her close. "It's okay Ai it it was just a dream."

He looked down and saw that she was sleeping. He took the covers and wrapped it around them and fell asleep.

It was morning when Ailish woke up. When she looked up and saw that Ronan was awake and looking at her.

"How are you? Did you sleep well?" He asks her.

"I'm doing better." She told him. As he bend his head and kissed her."

Some on cleared their throat. Ronan and Ailish looked at the door and saw her dad looking at them.

"Good morning you two. What's going on?" He asked.

They both looked at him "Nothing dad I just had a bad dream."

Her father said. "It's not what I meant. Sarah's here. She's waiting with Connor."

She looked at Ronan. "Oh I forgot. We said we would meet her."

She let Ronan get up. Both her father and him walked out. Ailish stood up and got dress. She knew her mom wanted her to wear a dress but she had to wear what she could fight in

"Okay I'm ready let's go." She said as she came out of her room.

They three of them left their weapons beside the door and went out."

Ailish looked at Sarah. "Sarah is Caitlin still at your house." she asked.

"Yes she's playing with Misha. Let's go see what they are doing."

They followed Sarah to her house and there they found Caitlin and Misha playing. She was happy that Caitlin was having fun.

"So Ailish do you want to go show these guys are place. Where we used to go and practice our magic."

Connor looked at his sister and then at Sarah. "What Sarah can you do magic too."

Sarah smiled at him. "Yes but not like your sister i'm still learning magic. But i'm getting there."

So the four of them left and went for a walk. It had been ten minutes when they came to a clearing. There were flowers everywhere and a little hut near a waterfall that ended in a small lake.

"So this is your place." Ronan asked

Ailish looked at him "Yes this is it. Sarah let's go change."

They both walked to the hut and went in. Ten minutes later they were coming out. They only had

When Connor saw that he started pulling off his clothes only leaving his pants Ronan followed Connor and they both jump in the lake after the girls.

Sarah, Connor, Ailish and Ronan were having fun when all of a sudden they heard screaming. The four of them rushed out of the lake. The two girls ran to the village while Connor and Ronan grabbed their clothes. When they arrived at the edge of the village they saw the group of men destroying everything they could get their hands on.

Ronan, Ailish and Connor ran to her house, as they reached the house Josh saw her. He was amazed that she was ready for him with the way she was dressed. When she came out, he saw her weapons and the two guys standing beside her.

Rage and jealous ran to him. He told himself that he would kill the two. Ailish signaled to Connor and Ronan to go help her friends. But Ronan stood in front on her.

"Ailish you go help. I'll take care of this trash." He told her.

"Ailish left and Ronan stood facing Josh. He was so busy making sure that Ailish was okay tat he didn't see Josh's sword coming down over his chest.

"Ronan." Ailish shouted upon seeing Ronan fall to the ground.

His attacker head snapped up and saw her.

"Well, well if it isn't Ailish." He mocked regardless of his feelings for her.

"Josh, what are you doing?" She asked him.

She pulled out her daggers and approached him, her concern more for Ronan then Josh. Josh turned to face her, weapon raised. The sun glinting off the sharpened blade.

"He's was in my way." he muttered taking a swing at her.

She ducked and moved to the side, bringing he blade to block his next move. He brought up his foot, and connected painfully with her right leg. Ailish yelped and stumbled back, but regained her footing quickly.

"You'll never win, Ailish." he grunted, taking another swing at he, which she leapt back from.

"And why do you say that?" She inquired sweeping her blade up to deflect his next attack.

He laughed as he released one hand from his blade reaching out to grab her arm. She emitted a pained sound as his fingers dug into her arm.

"Because you are just a simple peasant girl." she said staring at her.

She blinked and looked at him, becoming rather angry at his comment that a female could not fight a male.

"How dare you." she grunted at him.

She spines backward, pulling free from his grip. He brought his sword up again blocking her move, but did not block her kickich ich connected with his mid sectiHis His blade fell from his hand, clattering to the rocky soil bellow as he landed heavenly on his back.

"Don't think a girl can win." she asked, planting her foot on his chest.

"Alright

I was wrong. You win." he said to Ailish.

"Don't come back here ever again." she told him and he nodded his agreement.

Josh got up and left, his man also followed him. She forgot about him when she saw Ronan frhe che corner of her eye. She turned to him and ran to his side.

"Ronan please be okay." She kissed him and he moved a bit.

"I'm fine Ailish, it's just a flesh wound. Are you okay." He looked up at her.

"Yes I am it's just a flesh wound too. Let's go inside and clean you up. Connor help me." Ailish took one side and Connor took the other side.

Sarah took their weapon and followed Ailish inside. Her mom walked into the living room.

"Come you you two I will clean you up." She told Ronan and Ailish.

Ronan and Ailish followed her mother to the bathroom. "Mom its okay you don't need to do this I can do it myself."

"Don't be silly. Ronan take your shirt off son. I'll take care of that wound for you."

Ronan pulled off his shirt and Ailish smiled at him as she took care of her wound on her arm. She walked up to him "I'm going to go to bed i'm a bit tired." she kissed his cheek and smiled at him. And walked to her room.

"She's grown so much i'm just glad that she's ok." Her mom told Ronan as she finished with the bandage.

"I know i'm glad she's ok too. I was so scared when she started fighting him. But she's strong I should have known she would have win."

Her mom finished putting the bandage on him and he thanked her. He stood up and walks to her room and look at her. She looked up and smiled at him

"Ronan what is it." she stood up from the bed and walked up him and placed her hands on his arms.

"Nothing Ailish just wanted to tell you goodnight."

"Ronan would you sleep here tonight please."

"Of course I will Ailish."

He picked her up and closed the door walked to her bed and laid her down her pulled his shoes off and slide under the covers he wrapped his arms around her as she laid her head on his chest and closed her eyes. He looked down at her and smile. And they both fell asleep.

During the night it started raining hard. With thunder and lighting. One lighting hit a house and it std a d a fire. People started screaming. Ailish woke up and pulled away from Ronan she stood up and pulled her skirt on. She walked out of the house and ran to Frank.

"Frank what happen. Where are the kids." she ashim.him.

He looked at her. "There in the house I couldn't get to them."

Ailish looked around and ran to a water barrel and poured some on her. She ran back to the house and ran into it. Frank yelled after her. Ronan walked up to him after being awaken by Con

"What's going on?" He looked around. "Where's Ailish?"

"She's in there looking for my kids." Franid. id.

Ronan looked up at the house and got worried. He was about to go in when he saw Ailish running out wit two kids in her arms She walked to Frank and handed them to him.

"Ailish thank you so much. You don't know how much this means to me."

She looked at him and smile and walked to Ronan and wrapped her arms around him. And looked back at the house.

"If we don't stop the fire now every house will burn down." Ailish heard someone say.

She looked up at Ronan and back to the house. She pulled away and walks closer to the house and lifted her hands to it. She said some words Ronan didn't understand and cloud started appearing and rain purred down over the fire. After making sure the fire was gone. Ailish let her hand fall to her side and fell to her knees breathing hard.

"Ailish are you alright." Ronan ran to her and held her close.

"Yes i'm fine just a little bit tired." she looked up at him and smil

He helped her up. "Let's get you back to your bed."

Ailish and Ronan walked to her house and Ronan picked her up She laid her head on his shoulder and fell asleep. As Ronan interded the house Connor came to him.

"Is she okay? What happen?" Connor ask a bit frighten

"She's ok Connor just tired she just put out a fire out of control with her magic. We should let her sleep for a while."

Ronan laid her down in her bed and pulls the covers over her and kissed her cheek. And smile down at her and they both went into the kitchen.

"Hi boys where's Ailish. She never sleeps this late." Her father asked.

"Ronan placed her back in bed." Connor answered him.

"Why what's wrong with her." Her mother asked.

"She just used her powers to put out a fire and she was weak and tired after." Ronan replied.

Her mother smiled. "She always had a good heart."

"She reminds me of my mother. She was kind and gentle as Ailish is right now."

*Flashback*

"Mommy." the little girl said as she walked to her mother.

"What is it sweetheart." her mother asked.

"Connor and I found a bird. He's hurt."

Their mom walked up to her and knelt down. "Well Ailish it's a great time to practice your magic." She said to her daughter.

"What do I have to do mommy." Ailish asked.

"Well just keep your hand on it, concentrate on healing and say heal and see what happens."

Ailish did what she was told she concentrated and said. "Heal."

She looked at her mother and smile as the bird started to flap his wings. Let it go Ailish." Her mother said.

Ailish opened her hands and the little bird flew away. "Mommy I healed it."

Her mother smiles "Soon you will have all the same powers as me." Ailish was happy.

End of Flashback

"From that moment on she as help everything and everyone." Connor old them.

"Well let her sleep. She did a great job. She needs her rest now." Ronan said.

"Your right young man. We should all go to bed." Her dad said.

Conor went to the living room and slept there. Ailish's father and mother went to their room

Ronan went to the room where he had laid Ailish in the bed. He lay down on the floor next to her bed and fell asleep. The night was pretty quit and peaceful.

The next morning Ronan woke up to people talking loudly in the living room. He stood up and walked out the door. "What is going on here out here. Ailish needs her rest." Ronan told them.

One of them came forth. "We came to thank Ailish." He said.

"Like I said she needs her rest last night took a lot out of her." He told them.

The little girl that Ailish had saved came to him and handed him a basket. "Can you give her this I made it for her with my mom."

"Ronan took the basket and smiled down at her. "I will give it to her when she wakes up now please let her sleep."

When they were all gone Ronan head a noise behind him "What are you doing Ronan?"

He turned to face her. "Well you needed your sleep."

"She hugged him. "You're so nice. Can I have a cookie please." They each took a cookie and placed the rest on the table. "I'll have to go thank them later. Just before we leave."

Ronan looked at her. "Alright Ailish.

She went to her room to change her clothes. When she came back out Ronan and Connor were ready to go. They went outside. Her parents were already they're helping to clean the area where the two huts were.

"Hi mom, hi dad." She yelled.

Her parents looked back at her "Good morning sweet heart. How are you feeling?" Her dad asked her.

"I'm fine dad." She told him as she hugged him.

"Ailish I think someone wants to see you." Ronan said as he placed his hand on her shoulder.

"Who Ronan." She asked as she turns around.

"Hi Ailish." The man said as he smiled at

"Adair. How is your family?" she asked him as she walked up to him.

"They are doing just fine as you can see." He pointed behind her. She turned and saw Brona with her daughter Ciara and her son Owen.

"I'm glad their fine." Adair smiled at her.

The little girl saw Ailish and ran to her. Ailish knelt down and opened her arms to her. She picked up Ciara in her arms. "Thanks for the cookies Ciara. They are really good."

Ciara hugged Ailish. "Your welcome Ailish. Thank you for saving me and my brother."

Ailish smiled at her and looked up at her family. "You are very welcomes. But now it's time for us to go."

She let go of Ciara and stood up.

"Are you sure you have to go sweet heart." Her farther asked.

"Yes father it's time to go back Kells needs us I promise I will come back." She told him.

Her parents went to her and hugged her and then they shook hands with Ronan and Conor.

"Alright sweetheart. It was nice meeting you Ronan and you too Conor."

"It was nice meeting you too sir." Ronan and Conor answered back.

The three of them walked to the house and picked up their stuff and weapon and with one last glanced and a wave they were on their way home. They walked for four hours only stopping for a small break and dinner. But now it was getting dark. They stooped, Ailish started a fire as Ronan and Conor went to catch supper. They came back with a wild pig. They cooked it, and ate. And when they were finish the three of them lay down on each side of the fire and fell asleep.

In the middle of the night two suspicious people made their way through the forest and stopped at the fire. They spotted the person they were sent to get. They tiptoed to where Ailish was asleep. One of them placed a hand on her mouth and the other tied her hands and feet. As they picked her up her talisman fell where she was sleeping. They made their way back to the forest and rode their horses until they reached the castle. They Queen told them to put her in the dungeon. They brought her to the dungeon and tied her feet and hands to the wall and pulled the gag out of her mouth. They left closing and locking the door behind them.

When morning came Conor and Ronan woke up and they both stood up fast when they saw Ailish was not there. Ronan walked up to where she had slept. "Conor she was taken."

Conor looked at him. "What do you mean."

Ronan held up Ailish's Talisman. "She wouldn't leave without it and they are two more set of foot prints."

Conor took the Talisman from Ronan. "Who do you think took her."

Ronan stood up. "I don't know Conor lets go back to Kells." Ronan said as he took his stuff. "Conor can I keep your sister's Talisman please."

Conor smiled at his friend and handed him the Talisman. Ronan tied it around his neck.

Conor took his stuff as Ronan grabbed his. "Alright let's go home."

They both went back to Kells. When they arrived at the castle the rest of the guardian. Were practicing.

Eriel looked at them. "Ronan, Conor where's is Ailish."

Ronan and Conor looked at each other. And then look at them.

"We don't know where she is. She was taken while we were sleeping." Conor said.

"Well i'm sure we will find her again." Aidan said.

"I hope so." Ronan answered.

They wen went in the castle and talked to the king.
