This made me kind of giggle, but at the same time made me realise ya'll are going to kill me soon so *shuffles off to dig grave*Read, Review and Enjoy. The Sidhe, with the exceptions of Muan, Raoh and Osht, gathered at the pool with Koln, Taln, Tuhn and Mik. They weren’t allowed to cuddle, they weren’t allowed to talk, they weren’t allowed to signal others and no power use. Except for Paw, who was making certain no one else used power. Every infraction onto the rules added another hour. Of no touching, talking, cuddling, sex or anything fun whatsoever…The Sidhe all wilted as one. The Elders volunteered to keep everyone in line, but for Hohi, who Taln ignored completely because he was pissed at the big male. Older than Taln and couldn’t keep it in his pants, Mik had heard the young man grumbling to himself on one of Hohi’s passes. Hohi wandered about looking like a beaten puppy. Which made it an extremely uncomfortable eighteen hours. There were two bathroom breaks. Only two. Mik cursed Sidhe’s ability to go long periods without the necessity, then cursed Taln for only giving the older men two bathroom breaks. Koln looked like he might wet himself. And Mik had had a good deal of water before sitting down. When Taln finally released everyone the next afternoon, the Sidhe looked like they had had the life sucked out of them. In turn, when Taln informed them that if it happened again, the grounding would be doubled in time, a good deal of the Sidhe began making none too gentle motions to Hohi. If Taln was upset with the Sidhe, he wilted, whined and cried. If the tribe was upset with Hohi… The big male grabbed the closest Sidhe, a female, and gave her shoulder a deft twist, dropping her to the hard floor like a rock. He held her there for a moment, no emotion on his face, one hand on her throat. The message was clear. Don’t fuck with Hohi. The male let the female up and she skittered away. A moment later, Violet leapt on Hohi with a whoop and the tribe shifted back to its old self. Sort of. The members of the tribe were looking about warily, as if trying to catch the others doing bad things, but their focus was no longer Hohi. They filtered out of the pool room, leaving the Elders and the people by themselves. “Good,” Souse said, head bobbing a few times as he turned to Taln, “well handled.”“Good? You’re okay with Hohi having sex with your ‘sister’?” Taln snapped.“Oh please, Lillow wouldn’t know real sex if she had it,” Souse muttered, running a hand through his too long hair, “they shared a fantasy, that was all. None of the tribe reacted, and so, none of the Elders reacted.”“You son of a bitch.” Mik snarled. “She wasn’t being hurt, and we know Lillow’s mind,” Souse murmured, “it would not be long before she confessed to her supposed crime and -”“It was a test,” Taln muttered. Souse let out a long breath, “I suppose you would call it that, yes.”Mari stepped into the pool room and Mik and Souse both turned towards her and away from a pissed off Taln. Any excuse to change the subject, Mik thought, but Souse’s head tilted just slightly towards the side. Hohi sniffed the air and gave Souse a questioning look. Mik couldn’t tell what had gotten the Sidhe’s panties up in a bunch, so he smiled politely. “Morning,” Mari said, in response to his smile, “Edno is in town, adjusting to the time change. He has jetlag at the moment. Give him a few days and he should be good. I came to give you the basic information that we have, that we know,” she cleared he throat and waited for everyone’s attention. She already had the Sidhe’s attention, but the people were slower to turn towards her. And not a one of them, Mik noted, found anything about Mari different, “Edno was working for the heir of the Tele family.”“The. Guys who made Sidhe bone technology, the television and the telephone?”Mari pressed her lips into a thin line and nodded, “The original Tele was the great-grandfather of the heir, he created Sidhe bone technology after discovering that the bones gave off a kind of static electricity. He spent his whole life just trying to harness their power. As a renewable power sources, if Tele had succeeded, we would need one piece of bone about the size of a finger, to run an entire city indefinitely.”“But he never did, so how do we know that’s even possible?” Mik muttered. A breath in, lips pressed together again and Mari said, looking absolutely annoyed with the fact, “because Tele’s son achieved this. But by then Sidhe bone technology had taken off and he was afraid that what has happened, would happen. Their compound is run off of a the original bone piece. It’s. As big as a city.” “Oh.”“Wha-?” Taln got a confused look on his face. Koln’s eyebrows almost met his hairline, “eh?”“They, of course, informed the priest lines of their achievement. All of the lines declined the chance to run on Sidhe bone technology, because people would ask questions as to…” Mari paused, “where the power came from. Tele’s grandson coasted on his father and grandfather’s inventions. Not an inventor’s bone in his body, he is a cunning businessman, though. The current heir is named Raya, who, at the age of five, has fourteen patents to his name and who borrowed several advance scientists for a toy, as he called it.”And the only question out of all of that, that Mik could think of was, “wait. Isn’t Raya a girl’s name?”The group groaned as one. “It is in your mother’s land,” Koln muttered, pinching the bridge of his nose, “but up here, it’s become popular in recent years, the combination of Rava and Ayato’s names. Something about it bringing good luck to the one thusly named.”“How does he sign his name, I wonder,” Mik murmured.“Why does that matter?” Mari snapped at Mik.“Just wondering if he cops out and doesn’t sign the y as a y, is all,” Mik responded. “But that would make him…” Taln muttered.“No,” Koln said quickly, “that’s impossible.”The silence that followed was uncomfortable. Mainly because Mik had no idea what conclusion everyone else had just come to. So he chewed his bottom lip for a moment, like it made sense and then met Mari’s eyes and opened his mouth to change the subject. “Edno should be ready by tomorrow afternoon, or the next morning,” Mari said, cutting off Mik too quickly, “the question then, is, who are we including on this conversation?”“What was he working on?” Mik asked, as that would determine who he thought should be included. “We don’t know. But. Given Edno’s specialized knowledge of nanotechnology? The Illuen are safely assuming it wasn’t the type of toy we want Raya playing with,” Mari responded. “Then. Rel.”“He would know if Edno’s lying,” Koln said quietly. He would be able to translate for Mik. That was the thought that was utmost in Mik’s mind. Rel. Could translate from science to stupid. Which was what he’d need as he barely grasped the concept of chemicals making up machines that were smaller than a cell. “They both have a right to know,” Mari murmured, “why don’t we have their… parents present as well, just in case?”“Alright then,” Paw nodded, “making of the…. Snessssser?”Essuan’s head snapped up, the female straightened, adjusting the mesa on her hip as she cocked her head this way and that, like she was searching for a sound. Mari blinked at Essuan and Taln and Koln both looked from the female to the others and back again. “Lillow got that look when Essuan went into labour,” Taln murmured, shifting so that he was hiding behind Koln when Essuan’s head snapped towards him. The healer matter of factly handed the mesa to Koln and turned on her heel, marching quickly away as she called over her shoulder to Lillow and Violet. Both girls scampered after her.“About time,” Souse muttered, “the other female’s late. I worry that the health of the child is at risk.”“Suppose you’ll know in a few hours.”Souse growled at Mik, “it’s not my child, you fool.”“I know. It was. Uhm…” Mik completely forgot, “she was raped but the male had good blood so she and the other females totally whipped him. What’s his name…?”“Was his name,” Paw corrected, “when a male is taken by a group of females for the purpose of breeding alone, he is stripped of his previous name, because previously he raped someone.”“And now he’s being raped…”“Please,” Souse snorted, “he’s enjoying having three females paw at him. Lecherous old man probably ‘raped’ her to set himself up as a breeder. They do live pretty good lives. Raise the kiddies, get fed and have sex. Lots and lots of sex…”“I interrupted you,” Taln snapped, “I get it. If you two,” a jab at Souse and then Paw, “had less sex and did more activities outside of the bedroom, you wouldn’t have that problem.”And the young man stomped off. The group watched him leave the pool room before Souse turned his head ever so slowly to Koln. “And if you would just ravage him already, he wouldn’t be such an uptight prig about the rest of us having sex.”Koln went bright red and muttered something about having to help the females before he fled the pool room. .
