Chapter 19

~`~`~`~`~` ( Author Notes ) `~`~`~`~`~

Glad I got such a good response to my last chapter! Besides being a fall back from my first idea, I kind of like the actual chapter better. Here’s chapter 19 which will mostly have scenes of Jeff and Slaiden as well as Gavin and Trisha. Harley may show up briefly but I’m not sure yet. Guess we’ll know once I start writing. :)

On a side note I am going to be promoting my story in the forums so if you want to comment or discuss there, feel free to cuz I love feedback and will be checking and updating frequently as I write this story.

Jackpot7374 – I’m happy you enjoyed it! While I too agree that real rape is bad (I’d kick someone’s ass if they tried it on me), I find writing some non-con to be a bit hot if written in a certain way. As a character, Harley is tough so she won’t let it bring her down, too bad she has yet to know that she is the price. I can’t wait to start writing their next encounter which will be very hot for your reading pleasure. ;)

Amanda88 – I don’t go for the full out rape either, some stuff is just too twisted for my taste. In fact, I’m almost sure the next time things get hot between the two, Harley will be more willing, maybe by being given an ultimatum type thing or something…it’s just an idea that I’m considering. We’ll just have to wait and see. ;)

Thanks for all the Reviews, Hits, and Rates!

Enjoy and Please Review!

Note: Story is in Harley’s POV unless stated otherwise in chapters.

Chapter 19

-------------------- ( Third Person POV ) --------------------

By the time Slaiden made it back the boy’s house, he was soaked to the bone. The rain was really coming down but he was able to manage with his wings, having faced the harsh elements before. As he drew closer to the house he noticed that the boy’s window was closed, most likely to keep the rain out. Slaiden lands feet first on the roof then crouches down and places his right hand on the edge of the roof. He then pushes himself over to hang down in front of the window. Slaiden can see the boy is still awake, playing some war game on his computer. Slaiden knocks with his free hand as the rain beats down on his wings. Jeff looks up and rushes over to open the window. No sooner had the clasp been flipped that Slaiden had pushed himself through, not caring if the boy got wet. Jeff recloses the window behind him as Slaiden flaps his wings a few times to shake off the rain. Once dry he summons them away and turns to the boy.

“Easy with the rain, you’re getting the floor soaked.” Jeff complains as he grabs a towel from his hamper. He starts wiping the floor dry as Slaiden answers.

“It’ll live.” He replies sarcastically.

Jeff rolls his eyes away from Slaiden but of course it doesn’t go unnoticed. He can feel the demon’s eyes boring into his back as he finished wiping down the wood floor. Once all the water is soaked up Jeff rises and tosses the wet towel back into the laundry hamper. He locks eyes with Slaiden to address him properly this time. “So how’d it go?”

“How’d your little date go?” he relies with a mocking smirk.

“That’s none of your business! Seriously what happened?” Jeff says with a tiny hint of blush appearing on his cheeks.

Slaiden leans himself against the wall, crossing his arms. Once comfortable, he replies. “Surprisingly I found Manning and Harley near the same area. In fact, they themselves had a most interesting interaction.”

“What? What do you mean? Why would they meet each other? Harley went to a ball game with our friends, she shouldn’t have met him.” Jeff asks with concern as well as confusion lacing his voice.

“Apparently a friend of Crandall who had been there when Harley and Crandall fought was at the game as well. He saw Harley and followed her. He set up a trap for her because he believes she is to blame for Crandall’s death…which I find highly amusing.” Slaiden adds with a smirk. Jeff just gives him a look to get on with it.

“It turns out that Manning is the human’s uncle. He called Manning to assist him. They faked needing help so Harley would come trying to help. Once she got there, they surrounded her with four other guys. They exchanged some words and Harley realizes that she’d been set up. The friend of Crandall’s leaves, not wanting to get caught and leaves Manning and his followers to deal with her.”

Jeff’s face is pale at this point, his body growing tense in worry. “What did you do?” he asks, hoping that the demon had intervened at this point.

“Nothing.” Slaiden simply said.

“Nothing?! You just let her fight them on her own?!” Jeff says in outrage.

“Relax human, she handled herself well, as I expected from my property.” Slaiden replies with a smirk on his lips.

“So what happened next?” Jeff asks, ignoring the last part of Slaiden’s answer.

“She put up a good fight but eventually being greatly outnumbered caught up with her. Two of the men trapped her against a brick wall while Manning crouched in front of her. You can guess what he wanted to do.” Slaiden says, not at all being gentle in his explanation. In fact, he is enjoying watching the boy’s face grow paler and paler with each sharp word.

“Oh my god. Please tell me you did something at this point. I doubt you’d want anyone else to touch her based on the way you talk about her.” Jeff gets out, but his voice is forced.

Slaiden just gives a light yet dark laugh at the boy’s statement. He stops to give the boy a fanged smirk, amusement dancing in his eyes. “How ironic. The human wants the demon to save his friend who he is using as payment. Most amusing.”

Anger flashes across Jeff’s face at Slaiden’s words. Glaring at him, Jeff speaks with gritted teeth. “Well, did you?”

Seeing the boy’s face, Slaiden decides to humor him. “I stepped in by throwing one of the men that Harley took care of across the alleyway to catch their attention. It worked and I dealt with each one accordingly.” He says smoothly, as if it was a business deal and not a mass murder.

“Thank god…” Jeff thinks as he sighs in relief. Then his eyes suddenly widen as something else crosses his mind. “Slaiden didn’t …did he? Please tell me she got away.” Jeff locks eyes once more with Slaiden, his eyes giving away his concern.

“You want to know if I touched her afterwards.” He simply says, a knowing look flashing in his eyes.

“Well did you?!” Jeff stammers, slightly raising his voice.

Slaiden closes his eyes and remains silent for a moment, purposely dragging out the human’s nervous anticipation. Sensing Jeff’s annoyance rising, he opens his eyes. He stares into the boy’s face and licks his lips, silently taunting the boy. Jeff’s hands clench at his sides as his blood pumps faster through his veins. Slaiden then speaks in a confident manner.

“I did.” Is all he says.

“That’s not good enough! What did you do?”

“Do you really want to know, boy?” Slaiden asks, raising an eyebrow.

“Yes.” Jeff says with a bit of uneasiness in his voice.

“Very well.” Slaiden starts with another smirk appearing on his face. “Once the other humans were dead, she tried to leave. I stopped her. I stole a taste or two of her lips and neck. She tried to protest of course, not that it mattered. I then took the opportunity to do what Manning didn’t get the chance to.”

“Oh no...” Jeff’s face is as white as a sheet at those last words.

“I never got that far since time was limited.” Slaiden replies, narrowing his eyes. At this comment, the color starts to return to Jeff’s face but his uneasiness doesn’t falter. Slaiden takes his silence as a sign to continue. “But I did explore a certain sensitive area.” He adds, pretending to inspect his right hand’s fingers.

“He….he touched her there..?” Jeff’s eyes widen in realization at what the demon is implying. “You violated her?!”

Slaiden hardens his gaze to give the human a warning to keep himself in check. After all, Slaiden felt he was doing the young man a favor by even telling him all of this. Seeing him swallow hard, Slaiden continues once more. “You make it sound so dirty, all I was doing was to see if she was untouched. And giving her a bit of pleasure in the process.” He finishes with a look of triumph in his gold eyes.

“You’re sick. You could’ve just asked her.” Jeff says, unaware that he is echoing Harley’s same words.

“I’m male. Like any other I prefer my women tight. Which she very much was. It’s not like you don’t think similar thoughts about the girl you pine for. Most likely you’ll be her first given her age and morals.” Slaiden replies coolly.

“This isn’t about me or Tina, it’s about Harley. Regardless, you still touched her there, most likely against her will.”

“What are you going to do about it? You gave her up as payment. Once the deal is complete she will be mine completely. In fact, I plan to take her before if the opportunity arises.” Slaiden states.

“Remember, things can change.” Jeff says to counter him.

“True but unless you find something else that may change my decision, Harley is all mine, and by the way her sweet juices tasted on my tongue, nothing will change it.” Slaiden comments, licking his lips to empathize his point.

“Great, just great. Now he’ll never give up. Should I confront Harley or let her figure it out on her own. I still have a few more names I want taken care of and no way am I cutting this deal short for Slaiden to kill me….but it would save Harley…but then again, Slaiden doesn’t want to kill her, just fuck her...a lot. What am I going to do?” Jeff’s head races with possible solutions. He gets lost in his own thoughts until Slaiden breaks his concentration by shifting off of the wall. Deciding to not end this morbid conversation with his tail between his legs, Jeff speaks up. “I may not have a solution now but I will and if not…when Harley finds out, things won’t go smoothly for you.”

“Nor you.” Slaiden replies, not at all unnerved by the human.

Letting out a sigh, Jeff turns away from the demon and pulls off his pants and shirt to reveal lean muscle common in the average young male. He goes to his door and opens it. He slightly inclines his head back towards Slaiden. “Seeing as it’s still raining, I doubt you’ll be going to the roof. I’m sleeping downstairs so I can be as far away from you as possible.”

He then leaves, shutting the door silently behind him. Slaiden lets a small fanged grin to form on his face in victory. He knows he has the boy trapped as well as the girl. “These human just don’t get it. When dealing with a demon, they just can’t win. I have both of them right where I want them. Harley will be mine and the boy will enjoy the bitter sweet taste of revenge. He will learn the hard way that revenge and regret go hand in hand, foolish human.”

Slaiden gazes out the window, listening to the roaring wind and booming thunder the storm had created. He smirks at the thought of once again getting away with murder in this modern world. These authorities will have no evidence of him there, not that they will even know what to make of him anyway. In earlier times, it was much easier to kill for a summoner but this challenge has proven much more enjoyable, a game he wants to win. He can even afford to be sloppy when rain is on the horizon like tonight, not that he would, but less cautious of leaving tracks.

Slaiden blinks to clear his thoughts. He grabs a book of the stack Jeff left him and goes to the bed. He wrinkles his nose slightly at the smell of the boy on his bed. He shoves it aside since he has gotten used to the unpleasant smell of teen human boy. He sits down and rests his back against the wall. Getting comfortable with one leg outstretched and the other bent, he picks up the book from his side. Before flipping it open, his free hand reaches to his sash and takes out Harley’s panties. He brings them to his face and closes his eyes as the faint sent of her that still lingers reaches his nose. He breaths in deeply, savoring her sweet and addicting aroma. He then twirls the soft fabric around his index finger, admiring his trophy. His fangs slightly poke out from his lips as he replays tonight’s enjoyment in his head.

“Just wait ‘little girl’, I’m nowhere near done with you yet.”

-------------------- ( Back at the Scene ) --------------------

( 10 Minutes Later )

“Get those bodies covered immediately! Preserve all the evidence you can!” CSI Supervisor Trisha Melrose yells to her team and officers at the scene of another mass murder. She is leaning over a body bag herself as she and Luke, the assistant coroner are zipping it up. Detective Gavin had contacted her right after he responded to a call from dispatch. The officers patrolling the district had been stopped by some pedestrians trying to flag them down. They tell the officers what they saw in a nearby alley and the two partners go to check it out. Seconds later Gavin is ordering her to meet him at the scene.

This storm was not a good sign. Evidence was being washed away every second. The bodies were soaked by the time the CSI’s got there. Blood mixing in with the water was flowing to the storm drain, about to be lost forever. Trisha didn’t even want to think about the possibility of getting a decent print out of all this. Her plastic rain cover over her uniform vest is bringing little protection from the rain. She pulls it down over her face more as her, Luke and another officer prepare to lift the body onto the awaiting stretcher.

“One…two…three…lift!” she says with a heavy heave as all three of the lift the body up. The deceased man in the bag was the second largest. While none of the vics had been very tall besides one, all were broad or averagely built. The largest had been a tall and broad white man who had the build of a marine. Louis had to have Gavin and their largest officer on the scene help him to get the man bagged and onto the stretcher. Poor kid needs to work out more, the sight of his red face from strain is sign enough. Trisha and Luke strap the body in and push him to the open vehicle nearby. Once it’s secure they move on to the next one. Three down, two to go. Make that one to go, two of her guys where wheeling over another one. She sees a few of her team trying to collect anything they can from the ground. “They might as well leave it, everything washed away as soon as the rain started.” She thinks in annoyance as she jogs over to the last body, a second white man with a bashed in skull a few feet away.

Louis is already there preparing a bag. Luke is right behind her as they reach him. Louis looks up and points to his upper body. Luke goes to that side while Louis grabs the legs. They lift him a few inches off the ground and shuffle him over the bag. They gently lay him in and Trisha starts covering him with the black bag. They quickly zip him up to keep out any more rain then lift him once more, this time onto the stretcher. They secure him and Luke carts him away.

“I’ll start driving them to the lab, want to ride with me and Luke?” Louis asks as he tries to shield himself from the rain.

“I’ll catch a ride back with De Niro to pick his brain about this.” Trish replies as they jog back to the cars.

“Alright see ya at the lab then.” Louis says with a smile.

“Thanks Louie!” Trisha says as he and Luke get in the SUV.

Trisha makes her way to Gavin’s car and sees Detective Gavin getting in. She reaches the car and slides into the passenger seat. Gavin gives her a look of surprise, arching an eyebrow in question.

“Well hello to you too.” Trish says with a half smile.

“Sorry you just surprised me. I thought you were driving back with CSI Louis.” Gavin says as he starts his car.

“I figured this would give us a chance to talk about this case because I can bet money on it that we are thinking the same thing right now.” Trisha says as she buckles up.

“Hnnn…you won that bet then.” Gavin says as he begins driving back to the Police Department.

“Thought so. The doc isn’t going to like all those bodies, he’s already backed up as it is.”

“That’s what Luke is for. Although if the wounds are similar they will find it discouraging since there will be no DNA besides the vic’s.” Gavin adds.

“I know, we must’ve just missed the killer too since everything appeared to be really fresh. Luke said to expect the TOD’s to be within a half an hour range since none seemed to be going into riger yet.” Trisha says with a sigh of disappointment.

“Hnnn…” Gavin is deep in thought for a moment then speaks. “How’s that little theory going?”

“I don’t think it’s that little anymore. Once we get to the coroner’s we will be able to see the wounds and bruises. But based on just by seeing some of those men, rain down pour aside, I think we may be dealing with our superman mass murderer.” Trisha replies.

“Well at least we know one pattern of our killer so far.”

“Oh? What’s that?” Trisha asks, turning her head to look at Gavin as he drives.

“We have a common time frame. All related killings, based on what we know so far, range from Thursday nights to Friday nights. The first kill of Jackson Palori, was on a Thursday, then the gang, Steve Crandall and this one were on Friday. This with the comparisons of what we have so far makes my theory of preplanned killings sounding like our best bet. This guy must have a system or a schedule since most have been on Friday. Palori’s must have been his first kill ever, suggesting he was getting his feet wet and know planning better as in looking for opportunities as he follows them with Friday being a common reoccurrence.” Gavin explains.

“But still, the day link may not be directly related, just coincidence.” Trisha remarks.

Gavin gives a nod as he turns the car left at a light. “Even so, I will be talking to the chief to double up patrolling in the city on Friday nights between 9 pm to 1pm. Who knows, maybe someone will see something or catch this guy in the act.”

“Good idea, I’ll back you up on that if the Chief is not completely sold on the idea. If we show him the evidence I’m sure he’ll comply though.”

“Any ideas on who or what we are dealing with? The only thing I could come up with that seemed remotely possible was a genetically enhanced man, a terminator like robot or a werewolf.” Gavin says seriously.

“A werewolf?” Trisha asks, half mocking him.

“To explain the slashes, you know, claws?” Gavin says in his defense.

“Oh…makes sense I guess.” She replies with a nod. “While just a myth, they do show up in a lot of folklore which always has some base of truth to them…..is your robot from the future?”

“Very funny but if it is then probably not, I was think more along the lines of this robot taking orders from someone else who is linked somehow to the victims. But personally I like my werewolf theory best.” Gavin comments, cracking a rare small smile.

“Well if this guy is super human….or not even human, those aren’t bad theories. I was thinking along the lines of an incredible hulk type, which would tie into a genetically enhanced human, or Freddy Krueger.” Trisha says.

“Freddy Krueger? Seriously? And you were mocking my werewolf idea.” Gavin says with a smirk and raising an eyebrow.

“Hey now, it’s only a theory and you got to admit, his crazy fingers would explain the slashes and unidentified weapon.” Trisha says with confidence.

“True, very true.” He lets out a sigh then continues. “You know anyone else on this case would think we were crazy for even thinking these things.”

“Maybe so but the evidence doesn’t lie……and I think Louie would be on board. He loves the unexplainable and weird cases the best.” She replies, not at all caring of other people’s opinions.

They softly laugh as they drive through the heavy rain.

“Maybe we will see what he thinks then, maybe we could even clue him in on our theories if he has any of his own.” Gavin comments as he stops at a light.

“I’ll get his opinion then, maybe a fresh mind is just what we need to get things rolling.” Trisha says as they resume moving.

A comfortable silence sets in for a while as they drive closer to their destination. Sparing a glance at Trisha, Gavin breaks the silence. “So I hear you started Karlie in karate at the Collins’s school.”

“How’d you hear about that?” Trisha asks as she once again looks his way.

“I overheard a bit of a conversation you had over the phone the other day as I was walking down the halls. I also heard that you may have an eye on their friend who teaches there.” he adds with a smirk.

“I thought you weren’t the gossip type.” She says trying not to appear fazed but the slight blush on her cheeks gives her away.

“I’m not but I will say this. If you like the guy and he seems interested, don’t be afraid to flirt a little.”

“I don’t appreciate you nosing around in my love life.”

“Take if from a young guy like me, guys may date all types but they are only looking for one type to settle down with and you’re practically there without the ring so I’d say this guy maybe interested. Besides your beautiful, the guy would be crazy not to like you.” Gavin says confidently.

“This coming from the single guy living with his Siberian husky.” Trisha says, putting on a smirk of her own.

“Hey White Fang was a gift from my parents. After graduating college, my mom said to either meet a girl or get a dog until you meet a girl. I think she may have been referring to how girls love dogs….or that she was able to let go easier knowing I had company. Being the first born will do that.” Gavin says with another small smile.

Trisha gives another laugh at this. “Smart woman, your mom. But thanks for the advice. We’ve talked a bit when I picked her up both days and Harley had even commented before that I should go for it.”

“Well there you go. Another person on my side, and one who knows the guy very well. I’m sure she has talked you up already.” Gavin says with a wink.

“Maybe…” is all she says, slipping into her own thoughts. They continue the rest of their drive in more comfortable silence until the large building of the police department comes into view. Each one with their own thoughts of the case and among other things.

Yes! Got chapter 19 done a whole lot earlier than expected. I love writing Slaiden and Jeff’s conversations because they are so fun when they try to prove the other wrong or when Slaiden makes Jeff uncomfortable. I hope to get the next chapter up sometime on Monday but we will see depending how life gets in the way.

Also remember that I have a topic in the forums for promoting this story so check it out if you want to chat about this story, ask a question or give your own ideas. :)
