Chapter 18
The origin of the Valori\Toooilan and human\Fire race.
***************************************************************************************
He started after a deep breath “there was once two alien races advanced in all types of technology and medicine, one was pure in soul and heart, the other selfish and greedily. The evil race had been using technology to tinker with the genetics of their children, obsessing over removing all good from their line. Then the evils pronounced war on the good race.
It was against the races being to harm another, they were physically unable, they would become victims, helpless victims. They suffered many violent losses as well as mass destruction until one of them stepped forward with a plan. That young man’s name was Hero.”
At their looks he nodded “now you know the origin of the word. Hero was a genius of design and mechanics and had an idea for protection for their world, a huge force field originating from on the surface and surrounding the world from OUT OF SPACE. The build of the successful shield meant safety for all those people on it, they were so grateful to Hero they appointed him first as a leader and later-when he proved he could truly lead to save his people they appointed him the king and unquestioned leader of the entire planet.”
“You’re talking about Arthur’s ancestor, aren’t you” Robert asked and the figure nodded “by a few thousand years.”
“And the evil’s are the Toooilans” Julius nodded.
“Go on” mother prodded. “The good race was everything the evils were not, they became obsessed with having the mental power the good race had and devised a way to get it.”
“Kidnapped females to use as sex slaves to conceive their armies” Harold said and the man nodded to him “Exactly.”
“Go on” mother repeated and the man did so “the evils would attack ships off planet, kidnap and use the females and nine times out of ten the good race would get them back before birth. Even though the offspring were product of multiple violations, the good race wouldn’t dream of rejecting a baby for its fathers crimes, so they raised them as if they were their own.
They found even though the occasional child was as evil as their biological fathers, the others reacted well to the love and kindness of their mother race. They were a group of gentle caring people-but also fiercely protective and noble fighters.”
“What happened to those children?”
“They discovered a great role in their society was law enforcement, or more specifically, royal guards for Hero’s family line.” This impressed everyone. “They were a force to be reckoned with if their family or people were in danger or hurt and were fierce fighters-pain only seemed to make them stronger and the evils began to fear their own offspring.
So in order to beat them the evils needed to produce more powerful offspring they could use against them but no race other than the good were compatible with them and any female warrior kidnapped preferred to kill themselves before allowing their ‘father race’ to impregnate them.”
“What about the evil children? Surely some of them were females and could be impregnated?”
“Yes but for some reason any children born to a Valori\Toooilan and Toooilan were deformed, damaged and useless yet the extremely rare Valori\Toooilan and Valori seemed even more noble than the others-even more beautiful than EVERYONE else, even the Valori royalty themselves. And like their ‘fathers’ or ‘mothers’ these children were noble but also fierce fighters. THESE children were highly loved in Valori society, they were beautiful and innocent but fiercely protective of their family and it became known that a family that allowed one into their life-say in marriage or even adoption-would be blessed with safety and protection for the rest of their line. In fact only one line didn’t ever breed with them, can you guess which?”
“The royals” Harold said, eyes wide “are you saying my fathers line has Toooilan blood in it? That I have Toooilan blood?”
“More than you think.”
“What do you mean?” Harold looked suspicious.
“Let me go on and I will explain” when Harold nodded he continued after drawing a deep breath “since the royals were the only ‘pure blood’ left they couldn’t fight or defend themselves so the warriors became constant guards. With the Royals therefore both stronger in inheritant abilities and unable to fight back the Toooilan targeted them as their next sex slaves, not understanding even the lust drug couldn’t work on someone who can’t lust, at least not like them or us.”
“What about Arthur…” Bonnie started but at mother’s silencing glare she murmured softly “sorry, go on.”
“Long ago Valori had an alliance with another planet against the Toooilan. Thus world provided rare herbs and chemicals the evil race needed to make its lust drug, so when that race refused the evils right to take the things they needed, they attacked the planet full force. The Valori turned up to defend their friends and allies, lead by the royals flagship who were brilliant strategist as well as leaders to direct the warriors actions in their warships. What followed was a brilliant battle in space, vicious and violent, both the Toooilan and their noble offspring trying to kill each other, one ship jumping their vessel into another galaxy to be followed by the other, until they reached a relatively new one where the final battle in the orbit of a blue and green planet.”
“Earth” Robert guessed and the red head man nodded “the Toooilan ship go the advantage by moving to attack the royal ship, seriously damaging it before the warrior ship shot between the two, sacrificing their ship for their charges. Their last act was to shoot the Toooilan and damage them so severely that as they were spiraling into the sun the warriors ship was diving for the planet.
Because they ended up landing in the ocean a small group survived to make it to shore, immediately finding shelter-berries and roots to eat as well as prehistoric animals they could kill and eat while waiting for the royals to return with help. Only they didn’t know the royals had crashed on the planet as well-only the opposite side.
With only two royals, a mother and daughter, left on the home world and no sign of the others she was forced to breed with the Toooilan\Valori\Valori to continue the line.”
“So there IS Toooilan blood in Arthur.”
The red headed man nodded.
“It makes sense” Robert spoke up “think about it, Arthur fights along side his people, they were able to use the lust drug on him and he had to fight to get to Lisa. The pure race couldn’t do anything like that, but he can.”
“If it is, it’s only a little” Harold protested, obviously still unwilling to see any flaw in the king he and his father idolized.
“It would be only a little” Robert said to him soothingly “think about it, he came from Toooilan\Volari\Volari and Valori and by the time it came down to him that would be even weaker. He would have just enough of it to fight to protect his people and friends and for the lust drug to affect like when he was with Lisa but that’s it.”
They understood and the red head man went on “It didn’t take long for one of the couples of each group to grow pregnant. However while still fetuses in the womb something happened to both to both babies to change them into entirely different beings to their parents.
The firstborn was to the warrior branch. Exposed to gases deep from the earth of the cave they lived in during his conception and birth he mutated in the womb. He had his parents strength and power-without the tubes-their soul but there was one problem. He also inherited his forefathers spirit. By that I don’t mean he was evil, just that part of us we call a conscious, that tells us right from wrong was missing in him. That part that helps you control your actions wasn’t present in him, however while his parents and people lived THEY controlled him.” The red headed boy suddenly spoke out in English thickly “that child was named Kerantara and in this time he goes by Tommas Genarld.” They gasped “but he calls himself the last child of Valori and he’s half Toooilan!”
They gasped “Tell me, after Zimmer’s presence and all the damage he did, would YOU tell people you’re half Toooilan?”
“No, I guessed not” they admitted reluctantly but totally understanding so the man added “wouldn’t you rather people see you as the first ever Earthling but last of a mysterious alien warrior race?” This they understood as well.
“That is why father said some of the story was top secret. If people knew they would judge him by his heritage, not WHO he is” The boy added followed by his father with “also if our enemies knew what he was they may be able to figure out a possible weakness…” They understood this again.
“Because of those gases since he reached adulthood-more importantly the peak of his adulthood-he doesn’t age and he’s damned near immortal, but…”
“You don’t want to risk it.” This time the red headed boy nodded. “Go on” mother prodded “what about the child of the royals? What happened to him?”
When his mother was pregnant to him for only five months there was one night a fierce storm. Knowing the hull of an wrecked spaceship wouldn’t provide much shelter against such lightening the Royals braved the storm to go find a cave. The mother got lost and separated from the others and when the wether suddenly cleared hours later they found her laying out in the middle of an open plain, unconscious but unharmed. She was surrounded by burnt ground as wide as they could see, but except for a small mark on her stomach near the baby she didn’t have a scratch on her.”
“What happened? How did she survive unharmed?” mother asked them curiously.
“When she came to the mother told them how she had been directly hit by energy” he nodded to Harold who nodded back “she had survived. But it didn’t explain the fact the flames hadn’t harmed her. They didn’t discover the truth of what happened and what their baby had become until just before it’s birth.”
“Why, what happened?”
“The baby grew weaker, sickly and they didn’t know how-without their technology-to find out what was wrong to help it. One cold cold night the group huddled around a campfire to keep themselves warm, all slowly nodding off only to awaken an hour later to find the campfire completely out and for some reason the baby-who had been restless all night-was sleeping comfortably.
So they rebuilt the fire up, but half and hour later the same thing happened. It happened at least three more times before one decided to stay awake and find out. He feigned sleep and was the only witness to the truth. It seemed the baby was absorbing the flames through the burn on his mother stomach, using it to heal himself and grow stronger.”
“He was absorbing flame instead of electricity?”
The man nodded “when the child was finally born the named him Hauleric. He had no tubes to feed, he couldn’t take energy like his family, no, his life force had changed when he had sensed his mothers danger and had reacted to save her the only way he knew how.”
“You mean the baby had absorbed the forest fire to protect his mother and ended up only able to absorb flame?”
“Yes. Not just that but he had literally become living flame, it was his entire life force, his body was flame-made-flesh. And he wasn’t the last. When another couple grew pregnant he seriously informed them it was a girl and begged their permission to make her his mate. When they consented he slowly over the entire conception changed the baby so it was born just like him.
As soon as she was old enough Hauleric and his mate began to ‘breed’ and I use that word because for some reason since consensual age BOTH were driven by the impulse to ‘reproduce’ themselves for reasons they don’t know so by the time she was twenty they had six kids already, three girls and boys and not just that THEIR children were the same with each other.”
“You mean their kids had babies to their brothers and sisters?”
“Or parents, yes. You don’t see, this was long before genetic flaws from crossbreeding, this was a time when interbreeding meant keeping a family line pure, the royals had done it numerous times, Hauleric’s parents were cousins.”
Robert spoke out “ the Royals who survived the crash were family. They didn’t know about the guards surviving on the other side. Remember they would have thought they would be rescued so it was either sit around and do nothing or continue to live-including having kids. They had noone else to interbreed with and they would want to leave heirs, in case the rescuers returned too late for them. After all, they had millions upon billions of galaxies to search for even a speck of their presence.”
“Exactly” the red haired man nodded before going on. “While the numbers of Hauleric’s children and their children and so on grew the royals dwindled. It seemed after giving birth to Hauleric and his mate they were unable to further conceive. Kerantara thinks that something in the planet’s new atmosphere made them sterile while Hauleric and his family had evolved not only into a new species, but adapted to their environment to survive.”
“Makes sense” Robert nodded.
“As the numbers of Hauleric and his family increased so was Kerantara’s brothers and sisters, however he himself didn’t once mate or reproduce, he remained unique and alone-truly eternally young and invincible while his parent race grew old and died-and their children and their children’s children and so on.”
The red headed boy grinned suddenly and spoke out “if he hadn’t recently met a vampire woman from another dimension called Arna and fallen in love with her, I’d still be teasing him for being a virgin at his age.” Bonnie frowned at this and asked “why hasn’t he had sex before then, surely…?”
“Kerantara has only ever truly cared for two other people in his life, Hauleric and his clone daughter Cathrine. You see the older he gets the more he sees those women around him as ‘children’ compared to him, he feels nothing towards them let alone anything near lust. However Arna is ancient, in her home dimension she was the first vampire to exist, not to mention a ‘cavewoman’. Not only is she the oldest living being next to Kerantara but she has the sort of natural naïve beauty that makes you want to do anything to protect her, yet she’s done extremely violent things she deeply regrets, just like he has. The two are kindred souls.”
“Go on” mother prodded.
“With the numbers of their people going up both Hauleric and Kerantara decided to look for a larger land they could move too, both taking a group of trusted of both sexes with them. It is a huge planet and they found many ideal places, but something spurred them on to keep going, especially Hauleric and Kerantara. They felt pulled and couldn’t think of a reason to resist it, so kept moving.
Hauleric was drawn by a sense of pleading, a kind of mental cry of distress only he could answer, just as Kerantara was drawn by a sense of peace and security-the promise of what he needed to feel complete.
Finally they met and found it was each other they had been drawn to, and not just that the others had felt the same, which was why they hadn’t protested the constant moving. In fact while the two groups interbred and reproduced, both Hauleric and Kerantara decided to explore the planet fully together and they found a mutually satisfying relationship, Hauleric was Kerantara’s conscious while Kerantara was his protection.”
“Sounds almost like they were following after their parents” Robert said and when the man cocked his head at him curiously he continued his thought “the warrior race protected the royals while they gave the mix-breeds a place to belong. Sounds like the same thing those two were doing.”
“You’re right!” the boy laughed in wonder “they were father!” To which the man nodded thoughtfully and said smoothly “Of course you are right, it is.”
“Go on” mother prodded them again.
“While the two traveled the world together by foot the group of Hauleric’s children and the warriors were breeding, each following generation’s abilities weaker than the one before until…” To which Robert suddenly interrupted with wide eyes “wait a minute it is us, isn’t it. Humans are the descendants of the children of the warriors and Hauleric’s who bred.”
The two solemnly nodded and he went on “that’s what Lisa meant when she said that Arthur was reawakening her Valori heritage for this change, the parts from the warriors and Hauleric’s people.” Mother spoke out as well “it also explains how some people can be truly evil or bad, it’s the Toooilan heritage overpowering the Valori, like those first Valori\Toooilan children.” Again the two nodded and the boy added “mutants, those humans with unusual abilities or even powers…”
“Are humans closer to their Valori heritage than humans are, aren’t they” Robert completed and the boy nodded a third time. “What happened to the other two groups? The warrior and Haulerics children who didn’t go with Kerantara and Hauleric to find a bigger home? The ones who stayed behind.”
“Hauleric’s people grew and flourished, becoming a large village and then town, but the warriors ran into a problem.” The man said softly and the others frowned “What sort of problem?”
“Their Toooilan heritage started to kick in. I don’t mean they become evil, I mean ALL children being born were males, no females. Even trying mothers or so on with youngsters were producing only males and once the females left died they were under threat of extinction.”
“What about human women? Why didn’t they breed with them?”
“They tried. As a small group of warriors left to find Kerantara another from the city of Haul tried to find their leader and ancestor. Hauleric had to leave his companion and for years Kerantara was controlled by his violence without his friend to help him. He became a vicious warlord and it wasn’t until he was indirectly responsible for the death of two of Hauleric’s children and messengers that he KNEW he was doing wrong and disbanded the army and disappeared.
It turned out the two messengers were sent to Kerantara from Hauleric, he wanted him to come to him, during those early medieval times he sensed his friends growing darkness and knew if he didn’t help him he would be lost to it. The two messengers were mistaken as assassins and killed.”
“Where did Kerantara go?”
“He went looking for Hauleric and his people, to tell him about his children’s deaths, but the two had been unable to tell him where their leader and ancestor was, so he had to search, helping people on the way to try and make up for his evil. Which is why the warriors missed him. There is a story going around that two managed to reproduce via an human woman in a small village being terrorized by another warlord and that the resulting warrior child was powerful enough to stop the man AND HIS ARMY for good by himself. It is even said that that child is Steven Stairer of the Protection And Defence Department but I don’t see it. Without Kerantara’s help the race died out.”
“Did Kerantara find Hauleric?”
“Eventually but too late” mother frowned at them “what do you mean by that?”
“You see as he journeyed Kerantara tried his best to make up for his deeds as a warlord by helping innocents and those unable to defend themselves. He encountered a young lord who begged for his aid. He told him that his land was dying and his people suffering. He told him the king of a nearby land had rejected his request for sanctuary for him and his people, even though they had offered riches from their land in exchange and the kings land was vast enough for both groups and more. He said the king had told him that the land belonged to only his people, he refused to share it and that since they weren’t ‘of our blood’ they were just lowly creatures.
“If you can get in” the young lord said to him “and get them to trust you, then when the time is right you can speak to the king on our behalf. Maybe then seeing it from someone else’s view but his or ours, he might realize our plight fully and help us.” This sounded worthy cause to him and he agreed. But from the start in the village something didn’t feel right.”
“What do you mean?”
“It was a constant feeling he had, that things the young lord had said didn’t make sense once he was inside the village and saw how things happened and what they were like there. For a start, the people there were noble, friendly and pure of heart, they saw the killer in Kerantara’s eyes yet they accepted him readily into the village and their lives, helping him with his dark side, so why did they refuse the young lord and his people acceptance? He wasn’t their ‘blood’ either, yet they had readily accepted him, killer and all.”
“It was the young lord wasn’t it. He was lying to Kerantara, using him.”
The man nodded solemnly “he had seen the regret and desire to do good in him and used it against him. A few months in the village and Kerantara met him at the gates to talk. The young lord viciously attacked him, seriously wounding him and when Kerantara collapsed, unconscious, he lead his armies inside. Kerantara should have recognized a fellow warlord but had been so desperate to do good he had ignored his instincts.”
They were horrified “What happened to the villagers? To the king? Slaughtered?”
“Half were murdered in their sleep. Men; women; children and babies alike the army didn’t care-they wanted the land. But someone saw them and the rest managed to hide inside a stone building, safe from the soldiers because the building was surrounded by sky-high flames and unlike the human soldiers the villagers were comfortable in that heat. In fact the fire was part of their life-force joined to protect them.”
“Hauleric’s children” mother breathed “they were Hauleric’s descendants and the king was him himself, wasn’t it.”
The man nodded and continued “Kerantara regained consciousness and despite the seriously bleeding injury he moved into the village looking for anyone, any survivors. He found instead the bodies of families slaughtered in their beds, people who had trusted and treated him as one of them, even loved him. He almost went mad with grief, self loathing that he was the cause and fury at the so-called young lord and his ‘people’ as well as himself.
He was on the brink of true madness when two things happened at once. One was he felt Hauleric calling to him urgently, his pure voice in his mind causing him to suddenly snap back long enough to hear human cursing and the clang of metal on metal.
Pure fury controlled him and he moved towards the sounds to find the soldiers attempting to quell the flames and get to those inside. He moved to attack the group and his fury only made him meaner and stronger before the soldiers got the hint and fled the village, never to return.
Kerantara caught up the last fleeing soldier and snarled in his face “Where is that son –of-a-bitch?” The soldier was petrified and hesitated but quickly answered after he laid in and bashed him up. He blubbered that their leader had gone up to the castle to confront the King while they took care of the rest of the village.
“No!” Bonnier cried in horror “Hauleric was the son of the royals, he wouldn’t be able to fight, let alone defend himself against a human!”
“That’s right and when Kerantara realized it he threw the man into a wall and used all the speed and strength he could muster despite his pain, injury and blood-loss to get up to the large stone house\mansion as fast as possible. Still he was too late.”
“What do you mean?”
He reached the throne room in time to hear “This land is MINE!” And see the warlord impale Hauleric on his sword. Kerantara rushed forward, not realizing he was screaming until the warlord spun and saw him. With one back handed blow he knocked the warlord away, moving to his best friends side and begging him not to die. Hauleric questioned him, asking him why he hadn’t come to him earlier, he had been calling his mind for months and even had sent two of his ‘children’ after him. He had even sensed him in his village and was waiting for him to come to him.
Kerantara told him about the death of his two messengers and how it was his fault. Hauleric just smiled weakly and said they had succeed in their mission, he was there. He begged his friend not to die, stating he couldn’t exist properly without him but Hauleric just smiled weakly again and said he’d find a way.
When he questioned what he meant the other only smiled again and said “You’ll see, destiny has other plans for you. Over the years I have discovered ways of manipulating the energy in the air around us to create or make things happen or actually create things.” He motioned weakly at a roof to floor bookshelf separated into three, all hand written. He told him the first part was for his children, the second those humans whom had inherited the ability to manipulate that energy and the third was…
“For him, weren’t they? For Kerantara?” Bonnie said.
The red headed man nodded solemnly “Hauleric died in his friends arms and he grieved. It was as he was calming down that he first noticed it, someone was yelling in triumph “I rule this land now! I am your new king, obey me! None of you can touch me now, I AM YOUR KING!”
“The warlord” mother murmured and again the man nodded “when he looked up the man was prancing in front of what you’d call the throne and declaring himself ruler to the few teary eyed subjects who had bravely followed Kerantara up to the mansion and were now watching him grieve.
When Kerantara saw this he grew furious, more than he had ever felt before and he gently lay his friends body down and attacked the warlord-the subjects like their lord may not have been capable of hurting others but he was more than able and willing to do so. He beat the man, even though he screamed at the others to save him.
“Did he kill him?” Robert asked but the man answered “not exactly.”
“When the warlord gloated that without Hauleric to protect his people they were sitting ducks to his soldiers to slaughter and pillage all they liked-even rape he not only pissed Kerantara off even more he knew he was right. However his further comment of ‘their blood will run the streets red and it is all your fault for letting me in. Every death, including your foolish friend there is YOUR fault-their blood is on your hands’ gave Kerantara an idea.”
“What do you mean?” Robert repeated.
“He doesn’t remember how he did it and he hasn’t done it since but he cursed the warlord. ‘You want to talk about blood, I’ll show you blood and fault. I curse you, Mattis of the Onx, I curse you to eternal slavery of protecting the descendants of Hauleric-especially this village. You will never age or die but you will never be free as long as even one lives. You will willingly obey them forever and ever on value their lives and comfort over your own and not just that you will live off the blood of others of evil-more importantly those threatening your charges.”
“Vampire” Jules whispered in awe “he made him the first ever vampire, didn’t he” to which the man nodded solemnly a third time “the first ever to exist but not the last although Kerantara never made another-he can’t even remember how he made the first. The man snarled he never would do what he said but there was a strange noise and the blood from Hauleric on the sword the warlord had impaled him with flowed from the blade and hit the human man who screamed and was engulfed in flames.”
“Then how …?”
“Let me finish and I will explain. When the flames had died out the warlord was changed, he was cursed.”
“Then it wasn’t Kerantara who caused the curse. It was a combination of him, Hauleric’s blood and maybe his will. I mean think about it, he said he knew his friends destiny. Maybe he knew he’d curse him and so left a spell behind to ensure it would happen, only those exact words and phrasing activated it. After all if vampires didn’t exist then neither would the mutated versions of them, the Idars. If the Idars didn’t exist then that Toooilan Zimmer would have long ago conquered our planet and turned all our ancestors into mindless slaves.”
“Or sex slaves like Lisa” Bonnie added. Robert nodded at this and went on “WE wouldn’t exist if they didn’t.” After this the red head man spoke out again “after cursing the warlord and witnessing his friends burial Kerantara took the books meant for him and left, even though he was still badly injured and the people insisted he stay and heal. He was not or heard from again by anyone, especially Hauleric’s people until the year 2008AD.”
“By me” the boy spoke out again “although he was calling himself Tommas Genarld-The last Child Of Valor. He was wearing a human disguise-body-and had apparently had a daughter, Cathrine.”
“A clone of him, isn’t she?”
“The red head boy nodded “apparently one of the books allowed him to use his own flesh and blood as a template to create his own children. He used it to create two daughters-Cathrine and June, and three sons-Josly, John and Josef. At first the five only seemed robots, but as they learnt they changed; matured; started developing into their own personalities.
John was the quiet reflective one-the bookworm if you prefer. Josly was the rebel, he tended to defy because he could-to test how far he could get away with it. June was the power control for the five, mute and a sense of humor. Josef, Josef was everything Tommas tried to repress or control, yet around John he seemed calm and tranquil, as if he controlled him.
Then there was Cathrine, she seemed not only the focal point for the five’s personalities and power but her creator-or father as he told them to call him. She was not only able to keep him calm and controlled but had such an unusually powerful connection to his mind and soul while she lived he would never need to worry about his dark side again. Even as she grew up and began to change, to evolve so to speak from a clone to a true daughter.”
“Didn’t she get killed then resurrected as an Idar?” Robert asked frowning thoughtfully. The boy nodded again “yes, when pregnant to her second child she was seriously injured by Renegade Idars and died giving birth. Richard her husband and king of the Idars, founder of the Protectors rose her as an Idar before Tommas could.”
“How is he now and what happened to the other four?”
“Tommas now has us to rely on as well as Cathrine-Dale his granddaughter, but that’s not the end. In recent years we discovered that Josef now rules the ancient African tribe Tommas once did. June and John are husband and wife, Josly is the leader of the vampire coven protecting the village and Josef had violated the spell by creating his own clones, James and Jordan. James is a prankster and comedian and Jordan is just wrong.”
“What do you mean?”
“He lives out in the wilds with the animals and even Josef can’t get him out sometimes. It’s as if he is pure instinct and animal, nothing else yet he has the strangest ability. He can heal with but a touch, but he isn’t evil or dark. When you meet him he FEELS like something pure and innocent, but at the same time he’s pre animal. People are as drawn to him as they are to us.”
“Perhaps somehow he’s the good side of Kerantara” Robert said “like those pure parts he doesn’t know he has were inherited by this guy. He feels a kin to the honor of the animals around him and not the humans.”
“Although he also seems drawn to Sarah and Sooca” The man supplied and they questioned “Who?”
“Sarah is Josef’s wife and Sooca is their son. Sooca recently married Cathrine-Dale and now she’s pregnant with twins to him.” Jules spoke out softly “so Kerantara’s clone\daughters daughter is married to his clone\sons son.”
“I know what you’re thinking but Sarah and Richard’s genetics as well. If it was just say June and John…besides, OUR race have done it for centuries.” This quietened everyone except Harold who seemed to realize something “all that means YOU are royalty too, more so than my king! You could…”
The red head man raised one hand to halt his words “Corin and the others are hybrids of our race. Without my Idar I am a full breed, my parents were both full breeds and theirs and so on but I have no interest whatsoever in ruling an alien world, let alone contesting his right as a king. The Fire Race are an nearly extinct group of Earthlings, not an uprooted alien-I assure you. Our entire people, little though we are, know Hauleric’s origin and none wish to leave here.” Harold seemed reassured and went quiet. Mother spoke this time “why did you come?”
“The sample of the poison sent to us by the hospital matches that of Toooilan\human fetus correct?”
“How did you know that!” The boy spoke out their answer “one of our members was born of an human woman and full-blooded Toooilan. All Toooilan\human hybrids are conceived with two liquid sacks above the top incisor teeth. One contains a powerful poison to prevent abortion, the other a strong temporary sedative. We found both make powerful medicines. Incidentally, the sedative is one ingredient in the lust drug.”
“So?” the boy pulled a small vial from his coat and held it up “the antitoxin.”
“It’s too late now” mother said and explained what happened. “In that case, with your permission we wish to remain and converse with this Arthur of yours. We have been instructed by our leader to see about some sort of alliance between the home world and earth. Tommas would have come himself, as a sign of respect and compromise, but we thought-as distant relations of the royals-we would be more approachable, more open and relatable.”
“Besides” the man added for his son “Tommas and Arna have just started in their relationship, they deserve time alone together to get to know each other as only those in love and lovers can.” They understood what he was saying and agreed, mother telling them they could wait with them as long as they wanted, to which they thanked her.
