Lost History

Chapter 19 – Lost History

Hunter walked down the halls to where Markus was sitting "The Queen wishes to speak with you,"

“Ok,” said Marcus as he got up from the chair and walked down the long hall.

Marcus walked in to see Eva holding her children, she looked at him and asked "Marcus do you know what it is like to be a parent?"

“No I don’t,” said Marcus.

"Then you do not know how it can affect people, look at my children, would you wish death on them just because of their race?" her tone was serious as was her expression.

“No I could not,” said Marcus, he knew that he wasn’t heartless and wouldn’t be able to do such a thing. He was now regretting that he told one of Alex’s scout their location.

"Marcus aside from my husband I will tell you, I am not after conquest like my elders I once was I shall admit but as I became a mother it all changed I want to protect my kind from their mistakes, I want to show my children they are not hated for who they are I wish to change the image of the Succubi," said Eva.

"How are we going to stop our enemies? They are just as determined to kill us like last time," said Marcus.

"This is where you come in, you and some of my warriors will go and talk to Alex, should he wish to meet me face to face then he may come for I know you told them. Marcus I should kill you for it but rather I will have you be my messenger," She said caressing her son.

Marcus froze on the spot he knew that she was a lot stronger then their previous Queens.
She smiled "Shall you cross me again dear Marcus, my guards will kill you I promise you that or give the honors to the vampire council for what you have done to Richard. So I will have you tell Alex that I do not wish to fight him, do not think I made you a messenger out of pity Marcus for in the end some kill the messenger,"

“Thank you my Queen, it was a mistake in judgment. I thought you were like all the other Queens,” said Marcus.

She nodded "I will not deny I was Marcus, yet bringing my children and having Hunter have made me think, I wish to be different then my elders, now go and talk to Alex should he not listen he may come and see me,"

“Yes my Queen,” said Marcus he bowed and left the room.

“You’re better then I am Eva, I would have killed him for betraying us,” said Hunter

"I thought about it and he may die by the hands of Alex should he not choose his words right, but he will have his uses for making some sort of agreement," she replied to her lover. “I know he won’t suffer traitors, I saw that in his mind. I doubt that he would be very merciful after having to execute his sister for treason,”

Hunter nodded looking at his children taking their son and sat beside her "What of the vampire council?" he asked.

“That is the problem, the lycans can be contained but with the Vampire Council it will be much harder they’ve been scared by the legend of our people for hundreds of years,” said Eva.

Hunter nodded "We will find a way you said it yourself Richard was the main problem,"

“I know but there are still other masters that won’t let us stay around,” said Eva.

"We will figure it out love," he assured he handed back their son, kissed her and left the room.

“Marcus are you sure they will even want to talk to you, you’ve talked them into getting their forces together and now your going to tell them you don’t want a fight?” asked Devon.

"I am hoping they will they talked to me before," said Marcus.

“Well lets find out then,” said Devon.

The group of vampires moved towards the entrance of the den and walked inside. The two wolves on guard inside the entrance snarled at them as they made their entrance.

"We are not here to battle," One of the men said.

“James look at them, they’re the succubus,” said Nathan.

"We are here to talk with Alex," Marcus said.

“What do you want Marcus?” growled Alex as he approached them.

"I come to speak on Eva’s behalf, or if you wish to speak to her then you may go, she does not wish to fight you," he explained.

Alex snarled "You said that you wanted them gone, and now you’re here as her puppet?"

"There is something different about this queen, please Alex if you do not believe me come yourself she invited you," said Marcus.

Alex growled at Marcus and charged him digging his clawed hand into his shoulder. Marcus cried out in pain, Alex growled in his face as his claw pinned him to the ground “I’ll go but I’m taking my men with me,”

"Then do so," he groaned.

Alex got up off him and barked an order "Send messengers to the packs and tell them to hold off, we're going to visit the Queen in her den. Assemble the battle group and meet me outside,"

The men nodded and began to prepare.

“Eva the wolves are approaching,” said Hunter as he saw the armored forms moving towards them.

"Hunter, I must face Alex alone, tell them he may come in you may remain outside," said Eva.

“Be careful Eva,” said Hunter kissing her.

She kissed him back "Do not worry he will not harm me,"

Hunter looked to her warily then stepped out of the room. When Alex approached him, Hunter growled at him. Alex paid him no mind as he walked in.

“Alex, how wonderful to see you again,” said Eva holding her children in her arms.
Alex growled "So what is this about not wanting to fight me?"

"Just that Alex," She said.

He growled and said “You tried to control me and my pack why do you think I will listen to you?”

She sat up looking at him "You’re right why should you believe me? I was back then like my elders blinded by this power I have, yet I doubt they truly knew the gift of motherhood,"

“Even if I do believe you the whole council is against you, do you think that even if I do pull my pack back that you can handle all the others?” asked Alex.

"That is not your concern I will deal with the others, for now you are what I focus on," said Eva.

“Well if you really do want to and your genuine you must take it before the lycan council,” said Alex.

"If I must then I will," She nodded

“Good or you won’t have a chance, they are only holding back because I’m here,” said Alex. “They are ready to strike at a moments notice,”

"Then tell them I will come to them and plead my case," She said.

“I will it will be good to hear what you say,” said Alex as he left the room.
She smiled she could see the fire he had inside and she hoped her words would extinguish it.

“Status report,” said Lewis as he strode into the meeting hall.

“The lycans are making their move, they are highly mobilized it looks as though they are ready to strike,” said Peter.

"Allow them to make the first move while they are busy we will take down the queen," said Lewis.

“Yes master,” said Peter he bowed and left the hall.

‘I’ll show the council how good I can be when I’m responsible for the death of our greatest enemy,’ thought Lewis. He smiled wanting to show that he was the right choice not Richard.

***

“The next council meeting is in three days Eva, the wolves always have their council meeting two days after the full moon,” said Hunter.

"Very well it will give me the chance to recover and time to figure out what to say," she said.

“The new master replacing Richard is Lewis, Marcus tells me that he’s an ambitious one. He’s dangerous,” said Hunter.

“Then we will keep our eyes out for any vampires that come here, do not kill them but interrogate and then torture them for coming here before the meeting,” said Eva.

“Yes my sweet,” said Hunter.

***

“Demetria, I don’t know how the council will react to this they wanted us destroyed so that’s why we planned to spread the new strain at the council meeting,” said Alex. “She will be bringing her guards with her,”

She nodded "Do you wish her kind would live?" she seemed more curious then anything.

“I don’t know, none of our people were around during the time their people were around. All we have to go on is things that vampires have written,” said Alex.

“Perhaps there is more to the story then what is said, we all know vampires can be deceptive,” she said.

“I know, maybe Helena can help she has been digging through our packs old archives to see if anything was recorded on them,” said Alex.

She nodded "Then go to her she may know the truth,"

***

“Alex I have found our archives from three hundred years ago around the time that they were wiped out,” said Helena.

"Tell me Helena what do they say?" he asked.

“Well the alpha at the time said that nobody is to make contact with them, they were vicious vampires more bloodthirsty then their other bloodlines, but this is the interesting part the archives set up by the previous generation have marked that they were rather shy and hidden unlike their other blood relations,” said Helena.

"I see, so before one generation they were calm?" he asked

“Yes, it seems that the Queens were able to control the power hungry ones and keep their urges subdued but something happened and between this generation and the next they became savage and bloodthirsty, what is suggested is that the new Queens were some of the power hungry ones that were somehow able to depose the previous Queens,” said Helena.

"So, the male that turned Eva must have been a carrier from the line of a calmer queen," mused Alex.

“I think so, it is possible she knew what was coming and hid away a man. I think its very likely that he had no knowledge of his heritage,” said Helena.

"Perhaps, then maybe what Eva said was right,” Alex muttered.

“What did she say?” asked Helena.

That she wished to change things that she wished not for battle," said Alex.

“It will be hard convincing the council of this, I will consult with the other pack mystics and see what they find if their archives also hold the same evidence it will be hard for the council to not believe it,” said Helena.

"I know thank you Helena all the same," said Alex.

“It’s no problem Alex, go with your mate it’s getting really late Alex,” said Helena.
Alex felt the moon burn against his skin even inside their den as it rose, “Ok I will talk to you again tomorrow night after you’ve conferred with the other mystics,”
