The station was starting to be cleaned up. Everything that hadn't been nailed down was thrown across the room. Papers were scattered across the floor. Chairs were broken into jagged pieces. Some officers were hurt, mainly cuts and bruises. A few had mild concussions but nothing too serious.
Aiden, Lucas and Randi stayed in the holding area. Lucas told them that nobody was allowed in there with them while they were finally "questioning" Randi. The three of them sat on the bed, they felt safer behind the chalk. Randi sat close to Lucas, wanting to feel a little more protection.
"I'll tell this story, Randi. I doubt you even know that much about this."
"Go for it." Randi said softly.
"First off, I am a clairvoyant. If I touch something, handle things, I can see visions that deal with that object or person. Usually it takes a traumatic even to leave a presence on it. My power doesn't work with all things but for the most part it does.
"My grandmother was also a witch. She's the one who taught me how to control my power. She wanted me to be in the light about the evil things in this world. To be able to save myself if I ever needed to. I was taught different protection spells, how to read and use runes and other things. She let me know about the different creatures that walk this earth and I have dedicated myself to knowing all I could about them." she paused and looked at the forms of Edward and Jaicyn. "Vampires.
"They are real and are pretty much what stories and legends say about them. They walk the night while they sleep in the day. They feed off of human blood to stay alive. Many of the older ones and some younger ones have figts that are given to them. No one knows why they receive them but they do. They can range from reading minds to complete body control. Vampires move faster than we can see and can only be killed by decapitation, fire, a stake through the heart and sunlight. Holy water acts on them like acid. They can go into churches but it pains them greatly."
"Where do I fit into this?" Randi asked her.
"If I'm right, you're becoming Edward's other half. The second part of him. In all simplicity, you're going to become a living vampire. You'll be able to move as fast as he can, get fangs, maybe achieve a new power, but your heart will still beat. You will not have to drink blood to sustain yourself. His strength will be yours. His immortality, yours. Daylight will not harm you as it does him. You will he his daytime eyes and ears. You will be the one who protects him and his kiss members while they sleep. An other half plays a very important role in a vampires life. You are their missing piece. It is a big deal when a vampire has reached the ability get their other half." Aiden explained. Randi sat there and took all of it in. She couldn't help but glance at Edward's body. A human vampire? But she didn't want to become a vampire. Even if it means still being alive. What would it all entail? Would she able to become this?
"What if an other half doesn't want to be one?" She asked.
"Then that person dies." Aiden said simply. Randi nodded absentmindedly. She didn't want to die but she didn't know if she'd be able to be what Edward needed.
"Hey, you alright?" Lucas asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. What else do you have to tell us?" she looked over at Aiden.
"The man who chased us in here, he's a shape-shifter."
"A shape-shifter." Lucas said.
"Shape-shifter, you know, changes into an animal for the full moon every month. They're real, too. But there are more than just were-wolves; were-tigers, leopards, lions, panthers, there is a variety of possible animals a person can become. If they scratch you at all you will more than likely become one. I don't know as much about th em. But the full moon is in two days. So be careful."
"How do you kill them?" Lucas asked.
"Anything silver. It's their only weakness." Aiden told them.
"We need to find Daniel and the rest of them. I need to talk to them." Randi said.
"Do you even know where they're at?" Lucas asked. Randi looked up at the clock.
"School." She told him.
