The Rise of Vader
Hello Kitties
You are probably wondering what the hell is going on with my writing. I am doing the same thing. CLOVE is proving to be the one of the most difficult books I’ve had to write in a long long time. THE BLACK TOWER, which took me ten years to complete to my satisfaction, got about just as many rewrites. Offers up Pocky to the muses…oh God, please don’t make this story that long to complete.
I’m going ARGH!!!
But I will admit that what I am re-writing and the direction of the development of the brothers is going is better with the changes. The pre-Clove brothers are comfortable and I know them rather well. Skell – this merged brother -- is proving to be very very odd. The brothers are cycling through from paragraph to paragraph. Even poor Kevin discovered that his OW partner was a little off.
Skell similarities to the brothers:
Sensitive, almost too much so.
Musical, learned the piano
Responsible, watches out for Kevin to the tune of sacrificing his own piece of mind (and ass)
Skell differences from the brothers
Rape, he did it before, he does it again, he apologies but it doesn’t stop
Devious, he plays the OW psychiatrist for his own benefit.
Cold, he can lock emotions down quickly and can kill without a second though or remorse, he even kills house cats for pete’s sake
Now, I guess the question is, why is there a SKELL? I plan to bring Hashmalliam out in this book. While Sex as the lead brother has Endellion and the mixes of Eastern and European armor, at his core, he is happy. Yes, Claudius kicked in his teeth, but for the most part, Sex is a light hearted, love the life your living, hug the world as long as you’re not on my shit list type of Vampire. I’ve gentled Azrael, it would be too much of a fall for him to just forget everything he worked so hard for. The only way to get Azrael convincingly back would be to do something to Marcus and Armor. Those two fucked brothers had been through enough. And Xavier? He’s Pi-Zues. He is the reformation after the destruction.
So…I need someone who can kill easily, who has an icy core who has all the gifts/curses of the House of Von Drachenfeld and the legacy of the Ocanlovs and doesn’t care how he uses them. (The rise of Vader, Anakin is almost toast right now) Skell needed to go through hell. He has been forged in that fire and he has a reason to change the world…
So, I’ve set myself up a hell of a challenge. Skell is elusive to me right now. I need to get the brothers back but I don’t think Skell can be defined as a brother. I don’t know how else to say it right now. He is more of a stand alone vampire. The brothers can see what he does, but they have no influence over him what so ever.
So, LOYAL AND TRUE, bear with me. I do have a plan, even though I’ve had to back track the placemat maze a couple of times. So far, the path is opening up to bigger and better things.
