6 Hours Remaining

Chapter 19 – 6 Hours Remaining (8:00 AM)

Sora walked into the police station with a sense of déjà vu, though he had never lived this life before. He stepped up to the center counter and asked for Detective Pop, someone who knew his family by name, the person he knew he had to work with. Pop came out, her smile the hardened smile of a woman who had worked too long in police enforcement. She looked to Sora and offered her kindest smile, but it still remained very hard.

“To what do I owe this pleasure on your wedding day?” Detective Pop asked. “You know I was invited, of course you know, you are the groom, so it makes me weary when six hours before the wedding you are here in my world.”

“I need to confess to a murder,” Sora explained to the detective calmly.

“You know, your uncle once came to me to confess for a murder that he did not commit, and then shortly after he disappeared to come to America. If you are either confessing to a murder you did not commit or going to disappear go get married and enjoy this day because tomorrow I will kill you myself. You Oshidoris exhaust me.”

“I’m a Kiseki,” Sora said proudly.

“Ah, but your mother is an Oshidori, as is the blood in your veins, even if it is muddled with Kiseki. You have an honorable line, even if they are slightly twisted lines…” Pop looked to him, to the stoic look on his face, and she let out a resounding sigh. “You really are going to confess to a murder on your wedding day, aren’t you?”

“Yes Pop, I am…”

“Right this way, Sora Kiseki…”
