Part Twenty
The main focus of this chapter is Ray because he gave me an idea so I had to put it into action. The comments after this chapter are REALLY important, okies? So make sure you read them!

Part Twenty
“When is this dessert gonna end? It’s too hot in the daytime and too cold at night.” Rain grumbled from the passenger seat.
“Why not ask the Goddess, she would know.” Big Kitty said before rubbing at his eyes again.
They had been driving for hours with no buildings anywhere in sight. The car slowed down before coming to a stop, the other one as well. They both rolled down their windows.
“I think we should rest for the night.”
“Yeah, sounds good.” Ray nodded.
It didn’t take long for the drivers to pass out from exhaustion. Rain easily slipped from the car and glanced around at their surroundings. She knew what lived out here. It was another Race of creatures. They too would probably make an alliance with the group.
“Things are getting a little too predictable.” She turned around quickly, unsheathing her katana to kill the being behind her.
Crawford caught her blade with one hand and took a step closer to her. She tried to take a step back but he tripped her and she fell instead. She reached out for his throat when he settled on top of her but he ignored it and crushed his lips to hers. Her eyes widened in surprise for a second before she shook her head to stop him. He grabbed her hands and pinned them above her head.
She wanted to yell and curse him but didn’t want to wake up the others. Well...she could because it would fit with her plans but she hated the thought of being seen like this with him.
Before he could bite into her neck, the ground rumbled and shook. He picked her up effortlessly and floated above the hole that suddenly appeared. The two cars fell inside it.
“It seems the Gargoyles are next.”
“All of the Races will join them eventually.”
“It is pointless.”
“Whatever. Put me down!” She struggled from her position on his shoulder, trying to ignore the perfect ass she had a nice view of.

Ray slowly opened his eyes and realized that he would rather be sleeping. He was in a small jail cell type place.
“We meet again, Human.” A rumbling voice spoke from the shadows on the other side of the bars.
“Vrokli.” Ray stood and glared at the head of the Gargoyle Race.
His skin was pewter grey. His hair was short and dark green. His eyes, another marking of their species was entirely black, including the part that should be white. Ray knew this creature well.
“I didn’t think you were stupid enough to wonder back to our territory.”
“It’s not like I meant to. I’m kinda on a mission with the other beings I’m with.”
“No matter. We told you there would be a price if you were to ever return here.”
“And that would be?”
“Your scent is especially strong on a certain female in your party.”
Ray’s eyes widened in fear. ‘NO!’ His mind screamed. Jen was all but dragged to the bars by two Gargoyles. He ran and reached out to try and help her but she was pulled back. She had tears in her beautiful light blue eyes. He never wanted to see that look on her again. Grinding his teeth in anger, he eyes changed from purple to shining green.
“Lilith!” A sizzling sound echoed around them.
His dragon tattoo came off his arm and wrapped around it before charging the two Gargoyles holding Jen. The mythical creature tore into them and turned to the leader next.
“Stop!” Jen ran to Ray. “Don’t kill him!”
He hesitated, eyes turning back to normal.
“Lilith, return to me.” The dragon swerved away from Vrokli and returned to being a tattoo on his arm.
“We mean you no harm. We wish to kill the Jesters that are threatening this world. Please, let us go.” Jen begged.
“Very well. When the threat has been eliminated, we will continue this.”
***
Marrick woke up to the sound of someone crying. He knew it was Ayame. He didn’t know how he knew...he just did.
He sprang to his feet with Feline grace and stalked over to the bars of his jail cell. He gripped them tightly and pulled them apart with ease. He walked to his right and found her. She looked up and seemed to cry harder. He pulled her bars apart like he had his own and she ran to him, wrapping her arms around him.
He was going to kill whoever brought tears to her eyes. In the distance, he heard Ray’s voice but couldn’t make out the words.
“Come on, let’s go find the other.”
***
Mumbled words of prayer echoed around William. He opened his eyes to find the walls shimmering around him and Funmi. They were in the same jail cell together. When his mind cleared, he realized she was using a Protection Prayer to keep them safe.
“I didn’t know you could do that.”
She didn’t stop but she did smile at him over her folded hands.
***
Nicole simply waited for what needed to happen to happen. No sense getting involved if she didn’t have to.
***
The group found their ways back to one another and stood before the Gargoyles. Vrokli held his hand out to Big Kitty. A small bronze ore appeared before him. It took the shape of a rock. It floated to the Human and shot at his chest.
“You have our alliance.”
The gang got into their cars and were lifted by the Gargoyles out of the hole they fell through. Rain was waiting for them. She closed her cell phone when they appeared.
“Finally! Geez.” She opened the passenger door to the Chevelle and slid inside. “You guys took forever.”
***
“The Gargoyles have joined the group now too. It seems every Race will. But that is hardly something to worry over. They are still distracted so things are moving along as they should. Also, the two new boys, which we thought would be a problem, won’t be. The girls are making sure of that for us. Report over.”

Okies, listen up people who actually read and like this story, there are a few changes to my original plot design to speed things up a bit. I have taken out 7 chapter but instead of just shortening the length of the Book and moving on, I've decided to have fun with those missing slots.
There are two things you people can do:
1. You can ask the cast of this story questions, or me (the author), and have them answered.
2. You can request a scene/chapter. If you're dying to see some smut with some chars, ask and I shall deliver. And there are no restrictions. Or if you wanna see exploding mushrooms take over the world. You can request anything.
To do those, leave a review about what you want. For those who know me can simply e-mail or msn message me.
For your knowledge, the missing slot chapters are:
Part 28
Part 34
Part 36
Part 43
Part 46
Part 48
Part 51
This will also happen in Books 3 and 4. And, if I have no suggestions or questions...I dunno what I'm gonna do yet. Maybe I'll post a poem or something stupid. **shrugs**
