Chapter 18
Chapter 18
“You should probably talk to him sometime,” Joey said as we reclined on my couch and watched TV.
I just have to say here that I love the Logo channel! I just love being able to turn on my TV and flip to a channel that is targeted to the gay community. How fucking awesome is that? I got to see a reality show called Open Bar based on a guy opening a gay bar in California – that guy was really hot, too. But don’t tell Joey! He seemed to notice my interest once and it didn’t seem to set well with him.
“Why?” I asked not taking my eyes off the screen.
If I did, I knew what I’d see. That pleading expression Joey was good at giving me when he wanted to coerce me into something he knew I didn’t want to do. Damn it! I finally find my dream guy and he turns out to be my kryptonite – at least as far as Sarcastic-and-Disagreeable Kee is concerned.
“Because he’s still your best friend.”
“No, you’re my best friend now.”
“Baby, I’m your boyfriend,” he laughed. “And I’m pretty sure that would be a conflict of interest.”
“Well he’s not any longer,” I growled. “Hey, I know! Genie can be my best friend!”
“He doesn’t have the history with you yet to claim that title,” he said, his voice still dripping in amusement.
Suddenly I find my eyes are forcefully torn from the TV screen while Joey pushes me back against the couch and kisses me. I have to confess that sometimes I’m deliberately remote and distracted because I know he’ll resort to this to get my focus back on him. Yes, folks! My boyfriend is an attention whore! But I love every second of it. As if I’d want to look away from him anyway! Hey, I’ve told you how hot he was from the start of this relationship. You were warned.
Anyway, his hands start traveling my body, ghosting over every nook and cranny that corresponded with an erogenous zone. Oh, he’d mapped me out from the first night we slept together, and he left no area unexplored – much to my absolute delight. Don’t look at me that way! I’ve spent a lifetime waiting for someone like him, and I’m not about to waste any time second-guessing my reactions. I almost lost him once because of that. I believe in learning from mistakes in order to keep from repeating them. Joey’s mouth finally tore away from mine to give my chest some much desired attention, and I was breathless – as usual when he touched me like this.
“You know you should,” he whispered as he licked my nipple.
“Can … we not … talk … about … that ass … now?” I hissed.
“Why?” he smirked up at me leaving my nipple alone … and wanting. “Can’t you multitask?”
Motherfucker! I tried to glare at him but he undulated against me and I could almost feel my damned pupils dilate. Oh, he’s good! And he’s not above using sex to get me to do what he thinks I need to do. Before I could point that out, my pants were unzipped and torn from my waist clear the hell off of me – along with my underwear – and my shirt was pulled over my head. It’s frighteningly hot how fast he can work me up, isn’t it? He straddled me again, leaning over me with his long golden mane framing his face. His eyes shone with an intensity only he can convey to me. No one ever affected me on such a level before – and he knows it. Not because he’s an egoist, mind you, but because I’ve told him. I know it might now have been a smart thing to do, in retrospect, but hey, he’s my boyfriend now! And he lets me know every time he has me like this that he wants to keep that title. Not that I’m planning on revoking it! I told you, I wasn’t about to lose him again!
“How about a deal?” he asked with a deceptively soft, calm voice. “I’ll stop mentioning him now …” He ran one large hand up my thigh causing me to shiver in his grasp. “And in return, you promise me you’ll call him … just once.”
“Damn it, Joey!” I whined with no real anger behind it.
“C’mon, Kee,” he whispered. “If not for your longtime friendship then do it for Lauren.”
Oh no! Guilt coming in at warp speed, Captain! I frowned and tried to look away but he used his other hand to turn my head back to his.
“You know you can’t let her go through the happiest day of her life without you,” he added. “You practically planned the whole wedding with her, babe. She needs you there.”
I mused on that for a minute while his hand kept making little circles on my thigh. Perverted bastard! Now I’ll have to work hard not to think of Tommy anytime Joey has me in this position on the couch.
“Fine, I’ll call him,” I sighed and he smiled. “But you have to agree to something.”
“Anything,” he purred.
“You have to come with me to the wedding.”
“Uh,” he suddenly stopped and sat back. “I don’t know.”
Ha! I mentally shouted. Gotcha! And you WILL suffer along side me. I decree it! I kept staring at him, willing him to acquiesce to my whim while I rubbed against his leg with my thigh. Hey, I can be a sexual deviant too, you know!
“C’mon, Joey,” I purred – yes, I can purr when I want, damn you! “You’re my boyfriend and partner. I couldn’t possibly think of sharing a day like that with my friends without you by my side.”
“Oh, I’m finally your partner now,” he purred back leaning back over me.
Hey! How the hell did I lose control of this conversation so fast? His hand moved up my thigh again and gripped it while I pondered that thought.
“If I’m your partner, why aren’t we living together?” he asked. His eyes turned completely serious as he waited for my answer.
“I didn’t … know you … still wanted to,” I replied softly.
“I do, Kee,” he assured me. “I very much want to be with you all the time. After almost losing you and getting you back, I was afraid to bring it up too quickly. But if you really want to think of me as your partner, I have to ask you now.”
The breath I was sucking in suddenly caught in my throat as I watched him lean forward and lay his upper body against mine. I was bare-chested so I could clearly feel his heartbeat through his thin tee. His eyes bore into mine and our lips were mere millimeters apart. I thought he was slowing things down because my temper put him off and he wanted to see how bad it could get before committing himself to a lifetime of it. I hadn’t known he was too worried to bring the subject up with me. I brought up a finger and traced his lower lip while we watched each other.
“Your place, or mine?” I finally asked with a small hopeful smile.
His eyes widened before he broke into his sexiest grin and leaned the rest of the way in to kiss me deeply.
“How about our place?” he asked as he pulled back a bit to talk again. “Between our two incomes we can afford to buy a condo. I think we should stay in the city so it’s easy for us to get to work. More time for cuddling in the mornings, too.” He waggled his golden eyebrows suggestively.
Did I mention what Joey does for a living yet? I don’t remember telling you. I know the way I gush about him you probably think he’s a model. He could be, Travis Fimmel, so just be happy he isn’t! Joey actually works for an advertising agency on Madison Avenue, but in the design department. It’s funny how we chose careers that aren’t really that different, huh?
“I like that idea,” I whispered, reaching a hand up to his head and pulling him back down to my lips. I kissed him long and slow before letting him back up for air. “And you’ll come to the wedding with me?”
“Yeah,” he nodded. “As long as you promise not to ogle anyone cute.”
“Why would I when I’ll have the hottest guy with me?” I feigned shock.
Joey grinned against my lips as he moved a hand lower and he inserted a lubricated finger into my asshole. I sucked in a gasp and wondered how the hell he lubed it up without me knowing. He studied my face for a second then chuckled.
“I found a new hiding space for the lube, in case you haven’t noticed.”
“I … noticed,” I gasped. “Where?”
“Couch cushions.”
No more words were exchanged as he watched me intently while he readied me. Before long his own clothes were torn off (courtesy of me, of course!) and he was lining himself up to enter me. He tried to go slow my by this point I was a writhing, demanding mess and I lifted my hips to pull him inside. Now it was his turn to gasp as I moaned against his ear. He moved slowly at first, but you know me by now. I was horny and he was just so … THERE! I pulled him in deep with every thrust and met him stroke for hot, sweaty stroke. I whimpered and moaned while he growled and gasped. Very quickly my walls closed in around his cock and I started cumming while I milked him of his hot seed. I roared my name and drove into me hard a few more times before he was spent and gasping on top of me.
“I love you,” he whispered in my ear before covering my cheeks and lips with kisses.
“I… love you …too,” I gasped out.
Somehow I knew that night that my life would change forever when we moved in together. Normally the thought would have terrified me. But as I looked up at him smiling down at me I realized that I couldn’t be afraid of him anymore. He just makes everything so right for me.
Except now I had a phone call with Tommy to look forward to. And that thought almost soured my afterglow.
“You should probably talk to him sometime,” Joey said as we reclined on my couch and watched TV.
