Silence
Part of this somehow amused me. Part showed me something about the people and Sidhe that I have never seen before. I witness history through the eyes of a power user. I had no idea that power affected people it is used on in such a way. There has been a lot of power use, but never have I seen someone suffering the effects of power being used on them. It might also be the intensity of the power used. Not even Ayato can change the will of a person and simply make them leave. Poor Mari, her head is like as not to pound in migraine like fashion soon. The Aniege may have made a misstep which excites me. I'd like to see these souls that Rahl-ta has deemed should never live a lifetime together. I have a sneaking suspicion, but if it's true, I don't know why Ill-Rin isn't like... correcting her mistake. Also. The whole. Getting those morons out of the picture would be nice. Frikkin shooting Paw. Read, Review and Enjoy. It wasn’t Mari that Mik had to worry about. Mari tried, she did, she flowed right up to Galt and opened her mouth, prepared to give the older man the talking to of a life time. In Illuen fashion. Which would have meant nasty insults barely disguised as compliments so that Galt would have to accept his own stupidity. Instead it was Paw who let out a snarl. Paw who acted in what Mik had always referred to as scary. The Sidhe leaned back just enough for the people to notice yet made himself seem all the taller as he stepped around Mik and up to Galt in two steps. “My people are dying and you two are having a pissing war,” Paw paused a moment, allowing that information to sink in before Paw turned to Galt, “the Sidhe have been attacked with biological weapons, if ever there was a way for you to unite the Sidhe in your untimely death, that is it. And yet,” Paw raised his voice over Galt’s as the man attempted to protest, “still, there, standing by the elevator is a position your people made to help us help you, help us help you, Galt. But you ignore him and do not inform him when the biological weaponry is used on the Sidhe. You do not inform the person you hired for the program, of the happening, it was Mari’s idea for this and stop thinking that she has too much on her plate, she is an Illuen, this is like a hobby for her.”Silence. Mik felt an invisible prod and knew it was Paw poking at him with power, urging him forward to say something. “My office was not informed of the weaponry, because…?” Mik stepped up to Paw’s side and gave Galt an even look, “I realise you all ignore me, pretend I don’t exist and don’t listen when I say things like, hey, it’s not a good idea to poke the Sidhe, but I am the one who has to do the press conference explaining to the people how Valease, who can barely make a nuclear warhead, suddenly have biological weaponry.”“You would be informed-”“As I am going into the press conference,” Mik snarled back at Galt, “this is not a pissing contest, this is the difference between you living and you dying when the dust settles, so I suggest you get very straightforward, very quickly or it will be pinned on you. I will announce publicly that you sold the weapons to the Valeasans, because that is what the people will believe. It is your area. Do you want to be hanged and quartered, martyred off because of a pissing contest?”Everyone was silent for a very long moment. “This,” Galt motioned between Mik and himself, “is not a pissing contest.”“You’re right,” Mik stepped up to Galt, “This. Is you being an arrogant ass.”“What exactly,” Galt replied, stepping toe to toe with Mik, “does it mean, when the lights go out?”How the hell could Galt know that? Mik had never said it out loud, had never written it on anything. “You have a Sidhe with power.”“Or a person,” Mari snapped at Galt, “prying into minds.”“Auuuuhhhhh,” Paw’s head cocked to the side, “not person, hims.”Which completely disarmed the situation. Galt would never admit to having power and there was no way for them to actually prove that Galt had power or was using someone with power. If Galt himself even realised it.Mari considered the thought for a moment before bursting into laughter, “him? Power? That’s hilarious. No people have survived having power in modern times, we’re too. Strict and watchful to allow power to bloom.”“Evolution,” Mik responded. He had to give some reason, as he believed Rel had power.“People not only thing that can evolves,” Paw pointed out, “Sidhe evolve quickly as well. Evolve around sounds and problems and issues until people poke and Sidhe get upset and Sidhe start tearing bits off of people.”“The weapons, right,” Mari actually sounded dazed. Like she could flow into a topic but not be redirected towards a previous one. Which was highly abnormal. Paw’s head jerked towards Mari but turned back to Galt as the Sidhe took in a slow, calming breath and gave Mik a look. Someone had used power on Mari and she was suffering the side effects. “I don’t know who sold them, if I did, you would know already.”“The Aniege, the terrorist group,” Mik offered up.“What terrorist group?” “The one that shot at us,” Mik responded to Galt, “get up on the news, damn it. If they were pissed before, they’d be massacring people now. Literally, in this case. If they moved something like that, there would be a paper trail. Which might lead us closer to them.”Mari’s lips turned up, “give me an hour, we’ll find what crossed our borders and when and how. If they did move it, they’ve just made a huge mistake.”The woman left and the men watched as she went. Paw looked to Galt, “cross line again, Paw will break Galt’s arm. Forty Sidhe dead and until Galt gives otherwise notice, deaths on Galt’s hands. This one is not pleased.”“And neither is this one,” Galt responded angrily, “lights go down, you really think the priest lines will allow you to exist in peace?”“Who said priest lines would survive?” Paw replied, turning towards the elevators, “Mikkums, come, come, need be there for tribe.”“For tribe?” Mik asked. Paw’s inflection implied that Mik wasn’t needed because it was a tribe thing but because the tribe would actually need him. The tribe had never really needed him before. “For tribe.”.
