I apologise. For two days I could hardly move, let alone write. I was also bored out of my mind for that time so I tried to re-read Partners. Which didn't quite work, I got through like seven chapters in two days because I was so sick and tired. And yet all I could think was, it's been a while since I heard from Suryllee, I hope she's not sick. Anywho. Last night I was feeling mildly better and got through something like fifty chapters of Partners. Which is highly addicting. I also found out how to make like, sticky notes on my desktop and thus I've been taking notes. Including names I'd forgotten and a giggle at Jay's supposed last name - Mortag- which I believe translates into something like slow death. And the name of Illuva's so called true bible, the one that Rel curses in Sequel because it's been edited to meet any and everyone's ideals. This I started about two hours ago, but it took longer due to the fact that I had to look up several things and had trouble finding them. The end seems so very Essuan. Though really most of it came from Souse. Essuan just added a small bit at the end. Anywho. As I'm feeling better you will likely hear more from me tomorrow. Read, Review and Enjoy.Mik rubbed his face, hoping to wipe away the remains of a disturbing dream. He stumbled into the living room and found Souse, Essuan, Hohi, Lillow, Violet and Violet’s man, Raoh, sitting on his couch. The group seemed to be discussing the Blood bible, handing it around as they murmured and read passages. Tea was set out on the coffee table, as well as a few plants in small pots. Herbs that lent a fresh sort of smell to the air. He moved to the bathroom, relieves himself and gave his face a scrub. He slid into a chair in the living room, a wooden thing Souse had brought in from the dining room. Mik sighed heavily and rubbed his face once more. “Paw took you along?” Souse sounded surprised, “He said he wanted to leave you out of Whisper happenings. That your mind is not built to fully understand and encompass his trips.”“I don’t know how to put words to what happens to me,” Mik muttered, “but trust me, I can. Though my reaction to being murdered multiple times did sort of put him off… I forgot about that.” Mik sighed again and scrubbed at his eyelids, the image of the leader of that specific tribe popped into his head. The leader who had in his possession a hybrid, one he intended to unleash upon a people city when the young man broke. “Perhaps he is worried you will be pulled too deeply into the power,” Hohi murmured, “some people have been lost in that way.”The others nodded in agreement.“I think he’s dealing with a powerful male, a leader of a northern tribe. Nine months ago his tribe was lured out with the child of a rival tribe and he then slaughtered everyone but a -”“Right,” Souse murmured, “The first time you went along with Paw. If I recall, Paw has dealt with that one since. Ah, Paw.”The Sidhe shuffled out of the nest room and straight to the bathroom. Mik accepted a cup of tea from Souse and held the warm mug in his hands, waiting. By the time Paw joined them, the tea was cooling and Mik was sipping the tea. Paw sat on the coffee table and poured himself a cup of tea. He sipped the steaming liquid and looked up at the other Sidhe, as if giving them permission to speak. “You were shot,” Violet began. The girl had aged since Paw had become Whisper. She taller and she was finally carrying flesh on her frame. She was too young for lines to appear on her face, but she looked as old as Lillow, rather than a few years younger. “Right here,” Paw rolled up his sleeve and pointed at the spot, “Lillow healed me. Mik said later that I was almost hit in the back, but something stopped it.”“Something?”“Like… one of our force field things. Like the black wall, except invisible,” Mik explained, “except it was around Paw to stop the bullet and then was gone.”“Hmm, I have not heard of this power before,” Souse murmured, “perhaps it is something Ayato could do.”“Control metal, yes, Ayato could, but to stop objects he relied on careful deflection or his own physical prowess,” Paw responded calmly, “to stop something mid-air as if the object hit an invisible wall is… not possible. And that power is born so rarely that the impossibility-”“Is there someone who can use this power?” Lillow asked Paw, “here?”“No. One with that power has not been born in thousands of years,” Paw retorted as if it should be obvious, “thus… Paw has no idea.”“Okay, so we’ve all decided that none of us knows what stopped the bullet from killing Paw,” Mik muttered, “let’s just claim it was a guardian spirit and move on.”“A. What?” “A… guardian spirit. Something my mother’s people believe in. That there is someone higher up with a lot of power watching Paw’s back.”Paw snorted. Souse flipped through the Blood bible and read, “And war Whisper shall have for as he stands on the battlefield any righteous man shall be wise to stand aside and give ground to the creature who can open up the very heavens above upon the man. For backing Whisper shall be the two of love, lovers the pair shall be, to the back of Whisper shall they be adhered and through them none shall pass.”The room was silent for a moment. Paw growled. Mik snorted, “Lillow and Hohi?”Hohi snorted, Lillow laughed. Essuan and Souse seemed to consider the thought before both shook their heads. “No. Whisper in that passage in a creature.”“Not people then, meaning, Paw,” Mik muttered, “I think I understand that much of literature.” “The next bit kind of…” Violet sighed, “it seems to imply a love like the two lovers, like … those two. Meaning it’s… not really… a… allowed?”“Or it just means two lovers. Who could protect Paw. And personally I don’t think there would be a better pair than Lillow and Hohi, who are defence and offence. No? Was it not Souse who said that they, when they come together, will be unstoppable?”“I may have spoken such words,” Souse muttered.“Thus. They are the lovers who are to protect Paw. Solution to the bullet issue.”“How is that a solution?” Paw snapped just as Lillow squeed out, “trips!”“Bodyguards,” Hohi murmured, trying very hard to enunciate. Hohi had proved to have the worst accent of all the Sidhe and the male seemed upset that his accent sometimes created issues between people and him. Mik had no problem understanding Hohi, but more than one person had commented about the Sidhe’s accent. “Exactly. Lillow keeps Paw alive and Hohi does whatever it is Hohi is supposed to do as an offensive.”Hohi grinned, bearing his teeth at the gathered group. “Fine,” Souse sighed out, “but I wish to talk to Mari and Koln about this shooter. He shot Whisper. I want his head on a pike, his guts shall decorate his mother’s house and his name will be shamed for all time.”The fact that Souse said this all in a calm, even tone as if he was simply making an offhand comment. Essuan waited until her mate was finished speaking before she made a hand motion and a flutter before running a hand through her hair. “And his father’s balls shall be removed thusly no more children of such stupidity and blasphemy shall be made,” Souse added. Mik swallowed, “what order does that go in, exactly?”“Bloody torture, mutilation, then death by ramming his head on a pike.”“I…” Mik frowned as he tried to piece together the image, “people die when you chop their heads off, Souse.”“So do Sidhe, I never said I wanted his head removed from his body, I said I wanted it on a pike. There’s a difference.”.
