Love Triangle X2
Chapter Seventeen: Love Triangle x2.
“Chase?” Leila asked, confused to see her best friend standing at the front door of her newest friend. “What are you doing here?” she added.
Chase’s eyes were coldly glaring at Marc who was glaring right back his violet eyes narrowed. “Your brothers called me.” He said icily pulling his eyes from Marc to glare at Leila.
“Fantastic.” She mumbled pinching the bridge of her nose in agitation. She looked back at Marc who was standing so close to her she gasped in surprise. “Uh, M, why don’t you go inside and...” she stopped talking when another man walked up to the door wearing a helmet and holding up paper bags.
“Delivery for number five?” his muffled voice came from behind the helmet. Leila took the bags and handed them to Marc who handed the delivery guy the money. After a quick thank you the guy scampered off leaving the three of them standing there. “I’ll leave you guys alone.” Marc said clearing his throat and walking back into the house.
Leila stepped outside and closed the door behind her. “Care to explain what you’re doing here?” she asked crossing her arms over her chest.
“Funny, I was going to ask you the same thing.” He muttered darkly
Leila narrowed her blue eyes at him. “I’m spending time with a friend, Chase. What’s your excuse?”
Chase scoffed. “Yeah I bet you are.” He mumbled under his breath.
“What did you just say?” Leila asked stepping closer to him. Chase rolled his eyes and sighed.
“What the hell are you doing with that guy, Leila?” Chase spat angrily.
“He’s my friend Chase, what’s your problem?” she asked annoyed.
“Your friend..?” He asked “He kidnapped you and held a gun to your head, Leila. Are you forgetting who his father was and what he did to your Mom?” he asked angrily.
“No I haven’t forgotten, Chase. I was there remember.” She said glaring at him. “Marc is nothing like his father. He happens to be very nice actually.” She told him.
“Nice...he almost gets you killed and his nice? Have you completely lost your mind?”
“Chase, if it wasn’t for him I could have been dead right now. Marc saved my life and F.Y.I when he kidnapped me he made sure I was safe and unharmed at all times, if he weren’t there I would have been raped and god knows what else.”
“Aww, well isn’t that touching.” Leila shot him a death glare. “You and the criminal, best friends forever” He said stonily.
“He is not a criminal, if anything you should be thanking him.” she said and Chase frowned.
“Why the hell would I thank him, he almost cost you your life. If anything I should march in there and beat the living daylights out of him.” he said pointing to the door.
“You will do no such thing. I owe him my life-”
“Oh, so that what you’re doing in there, repaying him and showing him your utmost gratitude.” Chase hissed dangerously
Leila looked at him in disbelief. “You better not be insinuating what I think you are!” she said raising her voice to a point
where it echoed in the empty hall.
“What, that you’re screwing him?” he asked his hands turning to fists by his sides.
“I am not screwing him or anybody else for that matter. Even if I was, it’s none of your damn business.” She said annoyed. “At least Marc has been there for me.”
Chase frowned. “What the hell are you talking about?”
“I’ve been calling you every day for a week, why the hell haven’t you been answering your phone?” she asked and Chase dropped his gaze. “Let me guess, Nicole?” When Chase remained silent she scoffed shaking her head. “I should have known that slut would take precedence over me.”
“It’s not like that, and don’t call her that.” He snapped and Leila blinked.
“Why, you seem to believe I’m a slut that’s screwing half of southern California, right?” she said hotly. Chase only looked at her his jaw twitching.
“What the hell do you expect me to think when you’re running around with guys you don’t even know?”
“I do know him. And I expect you to know me well enough to know I don’t do bed hopping.”
“HE WAS NAKED!” Chase yelled and Leila took a step back.
“You know what Chase, you’re absolutely right, I did screw him and he was great. Hell I’m still a little weak in the knee’s from our hot fuck in the shower.” She said haughtily.
Chase clenched his jaw so tight the muscles began to throb. “You wanna hear more? Shall I go on and tell you which positions we did?” she asked taking a step closer to him her eyes narrowed. “Or...” she said standing dangerously close to him while running her finger down his chest slowly. “I can show you.” She said her blue eyes cold.
Chase took a hold of her wrist. “What the hell is wrong with you?” he asked in a harsh whisper.
“Oh, I thought I might as well live up to my name, you know seen as you seem to believe I’m the biggest slut in America.” She hissed yanking her arm away from him. She scoffed shaking her head while glaring daggers at him. “You would know all about sluts though wouldn’t you Chase, What with you dating one and all?”
“Damn it Leila, leave Nicole out of this.”
“Why should I, ever since you’ve been dating that diseased harpy you’ve been pulling further and further away from me. And what’s worse is that you seem to believe I’m exactly like her.”
“I never said you were anything like Nicole.” Chase said with a sigh.
“Maybe you didn’t say it directly but that’s exactly what you meant. I thought out of everyone in this world you were the one person that knew me the best. I guess I was wrong because you don’t know me at all.” She said her blue eyes pooled with tears as she turned to walk away from him.
“Leila...” Chase caught her arm to stop her.
“Get the hell off me.” She said between tears as she tried to pull away from his hold.
“Leila, I’m sorry please just wait--” he said grasping her shoulders gently.
“--No, I won’t. I’m sick and tired of waiting around for you.” She cried struggling against his hold.
“I never meant what I said. My head is so screwed up right now I need you please...”
“No Chase, that’s the only time you ever need me, when your damn head is screwed up!” she said pushing at his chest. “Go back
to your perfect girlfriend and let her save you this time.” She said hitting his chest angrily. “You’re so oblivious, you insensitive jerk.” She said pushing him away from her. She tried walking off but he caught her around the waist and pulled her against his chest.
“Damn it Leila, why can’t you see that I’m scared?” Leila stopped struggling against his hold and she looked at him. “My worst nightmare is coming true, I’m losing you and that fucking terrifies Me.” he said.
“The only person to blame is you, Chase. I can only hold on to our friendship so much on my own before it starts to slip away. I can’t keep fighting on my own, I‘m fighting a losing battle.” She said sadly.
“Leila, you are the most important person in my life. I know things have changed between us this past year. But I can’t stand the thought of you spending time with any guy other than Me.” he said gazing into her blue eyes.
“You’re not around anymore, Chase. I used to think we were inseparable and always will be but I guess I was wrong.” She shook her head. “We’re not kids anymore; we both have lives to live other friends or people to spend time with.”
“I’m sorry I haven’t been around lately, Lei. But that doesn’t mean I don’t miss you or want to be with you wherever I am. Nicole’s been taking up a lot of my time lately; I was with her this past week visiting her parents. That’s why I couldn’t answer your calls” he explained.
“She took you to meet her parents?” Leila asked and Chase nodded slowly. “So you guys are getting serious?” she asked trying to keep the tremor in her voice.
“I guess.” He muttered bopping his head up and down.
Leila dropped her gaze from his and nodded. “Do you love her?” she asked in a low whisper.
Chase watched her closely. “I—I don’t know.” He said and frowned when he noticed the sadness in the depths of her blue eyes. A shrill ringing of his cell phone interrupted them. Chase sighed and pulled it out; he rolled his eyes when he saw it was Nicole.
“Go ahead, take it. I should head back inside anyway.” She said pulling out of his hold.
“Leila...” Chase said taking a hold on her hand. Leila looked back at him and shook her head.
“Chase, it’s okay. I understand I really do.” She assured him with a smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes. “Just go to her.”
“Hey, what are you doing tomorrow?” he asked before she walked away. Leila shrugged.
“I don’t know. Nothing I guess, why?” she asked.
“Do you wanna do something?” he suggested. Leila looked thoughtful before nodding.
“Sure, call me and let me know what you have in mind.” She said and pulled her hand out of his.
“I will.” He said and watched as she walked towards Marc’s door. “Leila?” he called out before she knocked. Leila looked back at him questioningly. “Are we okay?” he asked and Leila nodded.
“We will be.” She said just as the door opened. Marc stood before her in a pair of loose tracksuit bottoms and nothing on top. He frowned when he noticed the tears in her eyes, his violet eyes snapped up to Chase glaring at him coldly before taking Leila in his arms comfortingly.
Chase watched as Marc wrapped his arm around Leila who buried herself into his chest up on contact. It took every ounce of self control he had not to march up to the smarmy bastard and beat him within an inch of his life for even touching her. The door closed and Chase once again realised just how much things have changed between he and Leila.
The war was just beginning; if Marc wants a fight a fight is what Chase will give him. Leila was his and no power could ever take her away from him.

Meanwhile across town in the Callaway residence Jaiden, Dayne, Eyvah and Dante were playing Pictionary.
“A boat...?” Dayne called out to Eyvah who was drawing on the board. “Canoe...yacht...sail?” he called out and looked as Eyvah began drawing animals. “Oooh an ark?”
“Yes.” Eyvah cheered and high fived Dayne who grinned.
“Nice drawing Eyvah.” Jaiden teased as he took the card from Dayne. Eyvah poked her tongue out at Jaiden who smirked. “Very mature.” He added with a chuckle before looking at his word.
“Oh man.” He muttered before turning to the board. Dante turned the timer to 60 seconds and Jaiden began drawing. “Uh...” Dante mumbled looking at the board confused. “A man...tall man...a cop...A gun...shooter...sniper...agent...James Bond...FBI...” Dante yelled and Jaiden glared at him while drawing three stick men. “People...a group....what the hell is that?” Dante asked just as the buzzer rang.
“Times up.” Eyvah said grinning.
“Dude you suck, it’s a gang. You would think the guns and hoods would have tipped you off.” He muttered throwing a cushion at
him.
“Those are hoods?” Dante asked his eyes wide. “I thought they just had really bad hair.” Dayne and Eyvah laughed when Jaiden smacked Dante upside the head.
“Idiot.” He muttered.
“So the scores are, forty-two to twenty-one.” Eyvah said grinning in triumph. “You two really suck at this game.” She pointed out.
“You’re lucky Leila wasn’t here. She and I are the masters of this game.” Jaiden mumbled throwing himself back on the sofa.
Dayne snickered. “Actually, Leila and Chase are the masters of the game.” He corrected his younger brother.
“Where the heck is Leila anyway?” Jaiden asked with a scowl. “I haven’t seen her in days?”
“She’s with that Marc guy.” Dayne said leaning back into the sofa.
“Again, God, I really hate that guy.” Jaiden said with a scowl. ”I just wanna wrap my hands around his throat and choke him to death every time I see him.”
“You guys hate every guy she dates.” Eyvah said plopping down beside Dayne.
“She’s dating him?” Jaiden sat up hurriedly his blue eyes wide.
“No, they’re just friends.”Dayne said and Jaiden visibly relaxed.
Dante shook his head. “Man, what a lucky son of a bitch. I would kill to get a chance with a girl like her.” Dante said with a lust filled sigh.
Dayne and Jaiden both glared at Dante. “You have five seconds to stop thinking nasty thoughts about my sister before I knock them out the fuck out myself.” Jaiden threatened.
Dante raised his hand in surrender. “Dude chill, you can’t blame a guy for lusting after her. She is hot. But not nearly as hot as your Mom, Dang that woman is fine.”
“Dante, I swear to god, I will not refrain from killing you in the worst possible manner.” Dayne said his blue eyes narrowed. Eyvah giggled. Dante rolled his eyes and shook his head as the front door opened and Isabelle walked in.
“Hey kids.” She said smiling.
“Ahh, there she is, the woman of my dreams.” He said with a sigh. Isabelle grinned shaking her head.
“Hello to you to Dante.” She greeted.
Dante grinned widely. “Hey Mrs C, Are you ready to leave that husband of yours and run away with me yet?” he asked and heard Isabelle giggle in response. “I’ll make you happier than you have ever been.” He said with charming smile while wagging his
brows at her suggestively. Jaiden and Dayne rolled their eyes.
Isabelle and everybody else knew not to take Dante seriously. He had been asking her to marry him ever since he was eleven years old. She had grown used to his antics.
“Dante, are you hitting on my wife again?” Jordan’s voice came from the foyer.
“Sure thing Mr C, I told I shall not rest until I take her from you and we ride off into the sunset together.” He winked at Isabelle who winked right back.
“Well, I might just have to put you to rest then won’t I, because the only thing you will be riding will be my foot when it’s shoved up your ass.” Jordan said with a smirk.
Jaiden, Dayne and Eyvah all began laughing hysterically. “Oh she will succumb to my charm soon enough. Until then, I’ll be forever waiting, my love.” He said and blew her a kiss.
Jordan shook his head and pulled his wife away from the horny love struck teenager.
“You’re twisted, you know that?” Jaiden said throwing a pillow at his best friend.
“Its love man, what can I say?” He sighed.
Dayne looked at Eyvah who was sitting beside him with a smile on her face as she watched Jaiden and Dante bickering. “You alright?” he asked shoulder bumping her.
Eyvah smiled sweetly at him and nodded. “Yeah, I just like being here.” She said with a shrug.
He smiled and nodded. “Come with me.” he said taking her hand and pulling her up with him. Jaiden watched his brother take Eyvah’s hand and take her upstairs quickly. ‘What the hell are they up to?’ he thought chewing on his bottom lip.
Eyvah giggled as they ran upstairs. “Dayne, where are we going?” she asked breathlessly as they reached the top of the stairs.
“There’s something I have to do.” He said quickly opening the door to his bedroom and walking through.
“What’s that?” she asked and watched as Dayne closed the door.
“This...” he said closing the door and pressing her into it gently before brushing his lips over hers slowly.
Eyvah gasped from the surprise so it took her brain a few seconds to catch up to her. She blinked when Dayne pulled back and gazed in to her eyes. She had a sudden burst of butterflies fluttering in her stomach as Dayne’s hand came up and caressed her cheek delicately.
Her eyes closed when she felt Dayne’s warm breath on her lips once again, but this time she was ready so she parted her lips for him when she felt his tongue teasingly lick her bottom lip. The kiss deepened, their tongues met and explored each other’s mouths in bliss.
Dayne pulled back ending the searing kiss. Eyvah was panting breathlessly her eyes still closed her mind still in a haze. When her head stopped spinning she opened her eyes and blushed when she saw the way Dayne was looking at her.
“You have no idea how long I’ve been dying to do that.” He said his voice deep and hoarse.
Eyvah licked her lips the taste of his sweet kiss still there. “Um, well I hope it was all you expected it to be.” she said smiling.
“It was more.” Dayne said brushing his lips to hers lightly. “You taste good.” He whispered into her mouth. Eyvah felt her knees turn to jelly.
“So do you.” She said bringing her arms up to wrap them around his neck before she crumbled to the floor.
Dayne grinned and wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her flush against him. He once again brought his mouth to hers kissing her hungrily. Eyvah moaned curling her fingers around the nape of his neck bringing his mouth as close to hers as possible. “Dayne...” she breathed when his lips moved from her mouth to attack her neck.
“I want you, Ev.” He whispered into her ear. “Will you be my girl?”
Eyvah had no idea she wanted him as much as she did until he kissed her. She quivered when she felt his silky tongue dip into the hollow of her neck. “God yes.” She answered quickly.
Dayne looked at her with a sexy smile. He was about o say something when he heard his brother’s voice calling him. “Yo D, we’re going for a dip in the pool, you and Eyvah joining?”
“You up for a swim?” Dayne asked his new girlfriend.
“Um, I don’t have a swimsuit.” She said and watched as Dayne grinned.
“You can use one of Leila’s.” He said taking her hand and pulling her out of his bedroom and into the next which was Leila’s room.
“Oh, no Dayne, I can’t.” She said quickly.
“Trust me babe, Lei won’t mind. She has a million different swim suits. Take your pick.” He said wrapping his arms around her
waist from behind while laying kisses on her neck. “Just make sure it’s a sexy one.” He whispered into her ear making her blush. “I’ll meet you by the pool when you’re ready.” He said kissing her cheek and leaving her in Leila’s room alone.
Eyvah looked at the colourful selection of swimsuits before her and a smile pulled at her lips. She was now the girlfriend of Dayne Callaway, the son of legendary Jordan Callaway. Not the brother she liked but she wasn’t complaining. The boy was just as hot and kissed like a Greek God.
After rummaging through what seemed like a gazillion bathing suits, she found one that she thought Dayne would like. It was a stylish black Versace one piece bathing suit, the back completely open along with her stomach. To be completely honest it wasn’t so much a bathing suit as it was a scrap of very expensive material to cover her crotch, ass and breasts.
Nevertheless it looked fabulous once it was on. The suit hugged her in all the right places and made her naturally tan skin stand out.
With a smile she exited Leila’s room and made her way through the big house towards the backyard where distant voices and music were coming from.
Eyvah walked out into the backyard, it was late in the evening and the backyard was lit by lights. The pools lights changing colours every few seconds. Dante was bouncing up and down to the music a beer in his hand. Jaiden was also holding a beer in his hand while talking to Dayne about something who was nodding his back turned to her.
Jaiden was the first to look up and notice Eyvah walking towards them. His mouth hung open as he gaped at her openly. A few seconds later Dayne turned to see what his brother was gaping at like a fish.
Upon setting his eyes on her his blue eyes scanned her almost naked body slowly before a smile pulled at his handsome face. Dante being the last to notice looked at her and did a double take choking on the beer he sipped before.
Eyvah bit back her smile as she neared Dayne who still had the smile fixed on his face. He took a big step towards her his arms instantly wrapping around her slim waist bringing her closer to him. He dipped his head and kissed her chastely on the lips. “You look heart-stoppingly gorgeous, babe.” Eyvah blushed and smiled up at him.
“Glad you think so.” She said resting her hands on his muscular shoulders. Dayne smiled sexily at her before sealing their lips together for a longer more passionate kiss.
“Dude, since when have those two been playing tonsil hockey?” Dante asked Jaiden who was watching his brother and Eyvah kissing.
“I don’t know man,” he said pulling his eyes away from the couple and downing his beer before reaching for another.
**
The next morning came quickly. Sometime after midnight the boys ended the party by the pool and retired to their bedrooms before sending a reluctant Dante home.
Eyvah spend the night in Dayne’s room after he asked her to stay over. The happy couple didn’t get to sleep until after two in the morning, and no, they didn’t sleep together; they just had a very heavy make out session.
Leila came home about two in the morning after leaving Marc’s place. After Chase had left she was upset so they forgot about the food they ordered and Marc pulled out a tub of Ben and Jerry’s cookie dough for them to eat while they watched The
Notebook.
Leila was surprised when the movie began and her favourite film began playing. She smiled and excitedly hugged him before settling down on his large sofa to watch the movie.
After the movie finished Leila had asked Marc what he thought of the movie. “It was okay, for a chick flick.” He had said.
“Oh come on, you know you loved it. I saw your eyes well up when the old Allie remembered Noah.” She teased poking his chest.
Marc caught her wrist “I had something in my eyes.” He said trying to glare at her. Leila rolled her eyes and giggled.
“You don’t have to be all macho about it. I like a guy that can cry, I think its sexy.” she told him sweetly.
Marc arched a brow. “Oh, well I better start bawling my eyes out then.” He joked with a chuckle when Leila threw her head back
and laughed. A noise Marc just couldn’t get enough of.
Leila smiled to herself remembering him. With a sigh she pulled herself out of bed and hopped into the shower before she headed downstairs for breakfast.
Isabelle, Jordan and Jaiden were I the kitchen eating breakfast when she walked in. “Morning” she greeted and slid into an empty seat beside her father.
“Morning honey.” Isabelle and Jordan greeted with a warm smile. Jaiden looked up from his breakfast and nodded silently before casting his eyes down again.
“Hey, did Chase call?” Leila asked pouring herself some juice.
“No sweetie, was he supposed to?” Isabelle asked her daughter who nodded.
“Yeah, we were supposed to spend the day together. He told me he would call today.” She said relaxing into her chair sipping on her juice.
“Why don’t you call him?” Isabelle said reaching over and pulling the newspaper away from Jordan who scowled at her. Isabelle poked her eyebrow at him and he grinned sexily in return.
“I have, he didn’t answer.” Leila said biting down on her bottom lip. “Maybe he’s still asleep or his with that leech of a girlfriend of his.” She muttered irritated.
Jordan chuckled shaking his head while sipping his coffee. “What so funny?” Leila asked her father with a scowl.
“Nothing, you just remind me of your mother back in the day with all the jealousy.” He told her glancing at Isabelle who narrowed her blue eyes at him.
“I’m not jealous.” Leila said with a frown which deepened when Jordan and Isabelle smiled. “I’m not.” She said again and huffed.
“You’re not only jealous you’re seething, Lei.” Jaiden mumbled while fumbling with his cell phone which kept chirping with text messages every few minutes.
Leila glared at her brother. “I don’t know what you guys are talking about.” She said leaning back into her chair crossing her arms over her chest.
Isabelle smiled. “Honey, the more you deny your feelings the more you will be torturing yourself. Trust me I’ve been there.” She told her daughter who looked at her father who was watching his wife the love he has for her radiating through his brown eyes. “We all know you and Chase belong together. I just don’t understand why you haven’t told him yet?” Isabelle asked.
Leila remained silent for a moment. “He’s in love with Nicole.” She said sadly. Isabelle looked at her husband who was frowning deeply. Footsteps echoed in the hall nearing the kitchen.
“Good morning, family.” Dayne said as he came through the kitchen door with a bright smile on his face followed closely by Eyvah who blushed when all six pairs of eyes were watching them.
“Good morning, indeed. Eyvah I didn’t know you spent the night.” Isabelle said as the couple settled to the breakfast table with the rest of the family.
“It was late, so I thought it would be best if she stayed.” Dayne answered looking at his mother and nodded slightly. Isabelle catching his nod mimicked his action before smiling proudly at her son silently informing him it was okay. “So what’s the topic of breakfast discussion this morning?” Dayne asked as he chewed on his toast.
Isabelle reached over and lightly smacked her son on the arm. “Don’t speak with your mouth full.” She said scolding him. Dayne smiled sheepishly swallowing his toast before answering.
“Sorry mother.” Eyvah giggled quietly earning herself a sexy grin from her boyfriend. “So, what were you guys talking about?” he asked again his blue eyes dancing around the table.
“We were talking about Leila ever so obviously being in love with Chase.” Jaiden said and hissed when Leila kicked him hard under the table. “Ow.” He scowled at his older sister who glared at him.
“Zip it, idiot.” Leila mumbled shaking her head.
Dayne chuckled. “Well, I’m glad you finally recognized your feelings, Sis.”Dayne said smiling at Leila who sighed. “Have you told him yet?”
“No I haven’t, nor am I going to.” She muttered pinching the bridge of her nose.
Isabelle regarded her daughter curiously. “Leila, did Chase actually tell you he was in love with Nicole?” she asked and Leila shook her head.
“He didn’t exactly say he loved her, but when I asked him if he did he said he didn’t know.” She explained pushing her scrambled eggs around her plate using her fork.
“Well there you go.” Jaiden said sipping his orange juice.
“There you go what? That’s just as bad as him saying he does love her.” Leila muttered irritated.
Isabelle reached over and took her daughters hand. “Leila, if he can’t decide whether he loves Nicole or not, that usually means something is holding him back. Ask yourself this sweetie, do you really want to risk losing Chase to Nicole because you
were to afraid to tell him how you feel?” Isabelle said Leila shook her head.
“Trust me, I know how you feel. I’ve been there and I know how it feels to be afraid of losing someone you love. But let me tell you something Leila, if you don’t do something about it now, you will feel much worse later when you really do lose him. ”
She said her eyes shifting to her husband who caught her eyes and smiled.
Leila listened to what her mother was saying and nodded. If anybody knew anything about losing the one you love it was her. She literally went through hell when she lost Jordan and Leila was there to witness what a mess she was.
“But what if he doesn’t feel the same Mom? I don’t think I can handle being rejected by him.” she admitted dejectedly.
“Leila, he risked his life to save you. Do you know what he said to me when I told him he couldn’t come to help save you?”
Jordan said and watched as Leila looked at him questioningly. “He said just like your mother was my life you were his.”
Leila felt her heart clench at her father’s words. “He really said that?” she asked quietly. Jordan nodded. Leila looked
thoughtful for a few moments.
“How do I tell him?” she questioned chewing on her bottom lip.
Isabelle narrowed her eyes for a moment and smiled. “You wanna know if he feels anything for you, you do to him what I did to your father.” Jordan frowned.
Leila blinked. “And what, pray tell did you do to her father?” Jordan asked curiously.
Isabelle smirked at her husband. “Do you remember that one Saturday night, we were going out with Josh and Kelly to Justin
Scott’s house party?” she asked Jordan who nodded after a moment of thinking about it. “Well do you remember that song I played in the car on our way over there?” she asked her brows raised and Jordan looked thoughtful.
“Whitney Houston and George Michael’s song?” she said and watched as Jordan harked back trying to remember. “If I told you that...” she sang and Jordan grinned instantly.
“Ooh, that song.” He said and stopped smiling when Jaiden was looking at him strangely. “What about it?” he asked his wife.
“Well basically, when I put it on and you heard the lyrics you were glancing over at me every few minutes and shifting nervously in your seat.” She said with a smile.
“You noticed that?” he asked with a frown and Isabelle giggled.
“Honey, you really weren’t being half as subtle as you thought you were.” Jordan shook his head.
“You made me nervous, what did you expect. So let me get this straight, you played me that song to see how I would react and from that you figured out I liked you?” Jordan asked and Isabelle nodded.
“You little devil, I should have known you were up to something.” Jordan said with a smirk. Dayne chuckled and sipped his coffee.
“So what do I do, just play this song to him?” Leila asked and Isabelle nodded. “And what if there’s no reaction, then what?” Leila asked.
Isabelle smiled at Jordan “Oh he’ll have a reaction. If he really has feelings for that is.” Jordan said and Leila frowned when she saw her parents making gooey eyes at each other.
Leila turned and looked to Dayne was who talking with Eyvah quietly. Her blue eyes caught her other younger brother’s piercing blue eyes glaring at the happy couple. She jumped when her cell began ringing loudly. She blinked and flipped it open to see it was Chase.
“Hello?” she said quickly ignoring the butterflies in her stomach.
“Good morning sweets.” Chase’s voice came from the other end.
“Morning.” Leila mumbled quietly her eyes darting around the table to find everyone watching her.
“You still up for meeting today?” he asked.
“Sure, what you have in mind?”
“Nothing, we’ll do it like the good old days. We’ll just drive and see where we end up. What’d you think?”Leila smiled.
“Sounds good to me.” she said and giggled when Chase said something. “You did not...” she said blushing but stopped smiling when her eyes snapped up and she saw the entire table was watching her with grins on their faces. She frowned and cleared her
throat. “Okay, I’ll see you in an hour.” She said and snapped her phone shut.
“Yeah, I’m going to need that song.” She said looking at her mother who grinned and jumped out of her seat pulling Leila out of her seat before dragging her out of the kitchen. Jordan, Dayne, Jaiden and Eyvah all exchanged looks with each other before Isabelle’s voice echoed from the hall.
“Eyvah, you coming or what?” she called and Eyvah smiled before standing up and following Isabelle and Leila. The boys shook their heads amused.

An hour later Chase arrived and strolled into the living room, where Jaiden, Dayne and Jordan were watching a boxing match while yelling at the TV. “Come on, dude grandma can punch faster than that.” Jaiden said shaking his head. Chase chuckled and greeted the boys before joining them.
“Mayweather’s going to destroy him, the guy’s undefeated check out the power behind his punches.” Jordan said wincing, his eyes narrowed as he watched Floyd Mayweather hooking Oscar De La Hoya.
“I agree the guy is lightening look at the footwork.” Chase said resting his elbows on the back of the sofa.
“Ohhh!” the boys hissed when Mayweather floored De La Hoya with a solid right hook.
Leila walked into the living room and Chase looked up when he heard her heels clicking on the wood floors. He smiled. “Hey.”
“Hi.” Leila smiled when Chase gave her a kiss on the cheek. “You ready?” she asked. Chase nodded.
“Yeah, let’s go.” He said. “D-man, let me know the results, yeah?” Chase asked and watched as Dayne nodded.
“Sure thing, bro.” Dayne said not looking away from the TV. “Have fun.” He added after a beat.
“Drive safely, please.” Jordan said and winked at his daughter who smiled and nodded. ‘Good luck’ he mouthed when Chase wasn’t looking. Leila mouthed a thank you and the duo took off.
Leila sighed nervously when she slid into Chase’s blue Lexus and buckled up. “You okay?” Chase asked once he started the engine.
Leila nodded. “Yeah, I’m good. So what’s the deal? Which way we heading?” she asked glancing at him as he slid on his sunglasses.
“North?” he suggested and Leila nodded.
“Well, what are you waiting for Adonis; let’s go before you get summoned. Hopefully we’ll get to spend at least a few hours
together before you are called away.” She said and Chase shook his head.
“Not happening, today I’m all yours, nothing and I mean absolutely nothing can drag me away from you, it’s just you and I, babe.” He said and he drove off.
“What’s that?” Chase asked glancing down at her lap where she held a CD.
“Um, it’s a mixed CD my mom gave me, she said it has songs from back in the day when she was dating my Dad.” She explained and Chase nodded.
“Pop it in.” He said gesturing to the CD player. Leila bit her bottom lip and slid in the CD. She cursed under her breath
silently and thought of ways she could get Chase to take off his shades so she could see his eyes.
An idea formed in her mind and so she began rubbing her eyes rigorously. Chase noticed and frowned. “Hey, you okay?” he asked
with concern.
“Um, yeah the sunlight’s irritating my eyes for some reason.” She mumbled blinking. Chase immediately slid off his shades and handed them to her.
“Put those on.” He said holding out his shades just as the first song began playing. Leila mumbled a thank you before slipping them on and relaxed waiting for the song her mother mentioned to begin.
“Now tell me how you feel if I told you that I have feelings for you, And would it be so wrong to say what’s on my mind, I’m sorry I have to .We were friends but with time what I feel inside for you has change but I’d give up on love, if I thought that it was untrue for you...” Leila’s heart skipped a beat when she heard the lyrics to the following song. This was the song her mother was talking about. She gingerly bit her bottom lip and glanced at him and from the corner of her eyes she noticed Chase stiffen visibly.
“Would you be there for me, could you dare to hold me. Will my feelings leave me lonely if I told you...?” Chase frowned when
he heard the lyrics to the song. He glanced over at Leila on the sly and noticed she was looking ahead biting on her lip. His heart jumped to his throat when she pulled off his shades and met his eyes. She smiled softly before looking out of her window again.
Leila bit her lip and smiled excitedly. He reacted just like his mother said he would if he was harbouring feelings for her.
The woman was a genius!
Now if only she could muster up the courage to tell him she loves him...

Hello my dear readers thank you all for being patient with me. The next chapter should follow in the next few days. *Fingers Crossed*
Let me know what you all thought? Will Leila finally come out and confess her love for Chase?
